Linksys with mesh nodes
Great product! I no longer wanted to rely solely on Optimum because of the occasional network outages and periodic Wi-Fi drops. I decided to switch to T-Mobile 5G Home Internet and added Linksys mesh nodes to improve coverage throughout my home. So far, the combination has worked great. The connection has been reliable, the Linksys nodes provide excellent coverage, and I’m very satisfied with the overall performance. I would definitely recommend this setup to anyone looking for better and more consistent Wi-Fi coverage.
Doesn’t work
Every time I log into the app I’m IMMEDIATELY signed out. I can’t even set up my extenders because I can’t even login in to access my account. Until they fix their app I HIGHLY recommend using a different company.
App is working again
App and linksyssmartwifi website stopped working for a few days but the issue seems to be resolved. App loads normally now and displays current info.

Has it really been 2 years since this app was updated? It is so glitchy and only works half the time.

Needs some work. Not many features for custom settings. Can’t select fixed channels and bandwidth.

Semi-functional at best
The app successfully loads and can connect to the router, but the actual feature execution is spotty at best. The app is seemingly incapable of understanding time ranges, as if I set parental controls to pause internet on certain devices for a nighttime period it insists that what I actually mean is to block access 24 hours a day. Schedules will be deleted for no reason, multiple schedules cannot exist simultaneously, identification of devices and times they’re present on the network is often nonexistent or falsified, etc. This entire interface is a huge step back from the one we had ten years ago.
Update needed
Please incorporate a way to change which node a device is connected to. Sometimes the choice of which node is connected appears inferior, and at least a trial of a switch would be useful.
Easy to use and free
The app is straightforward and intuitive, best of all it’s free and I’m glad they aren’t trying to sell anything.
Broken app
The app is broken, I can’t even reset my password, it’s giving me wrong directions on how to reset the password.

Not intuitive
This app doesn’t work properly. And the help section is a complex joke. Instead of finding what I’m looking for all it shows is a list of questions, and if my question isn’t in the list then too bad. For example, I am trying to rename my devices. The instructions say to tap on the name. Nothing happens. using the desktop interface is no better. You can’t make any meaningful selections. I got rid of my previous Chinese made router, but at least it allowed many customizations. This app is useless. I wouldn’t buy this router again

One day, the app works like intended and the following day it won’t tell me which node my devices are connected to.

Broken features
I can not save settings, my guest network is turned on and I can’t turn it off. The app disconnects and makes me log in as remote or local only sometimes.

Sucks
After years of good service, suddenly it can’t recognize passwords and wants an encryption key. Dumping the router and this useless app.
It would be better if it works everytime
I have 4 sites to manage, and each place has over 3 pods in average. The app takes over 15-20 sec to load the routers. When we try to change the devices name or icon, it does not work all the times.

a nice reliable app that lets you work with the router(s) in simple effective ways. i am an average user who isnt into too advanced controls or automations, so this apps interface and features are at right level of detail and its design is easy to work with. i've been using this for over five (5) years and no hesitation to redo with same line of products if i ever have to upgrade. i run two Linksys (dual channel) nodes in my home hardwired to each other for fastest bandwidth and full coverage throughout home. The two Linksys nodes connect to my main modem and operate as a second wifi in addition to my service providers router modem wifi.
Terrible App
The mesh network itself isn’t that bad, but this app makes diagnosing issues incredibly time consuming & stressful. Making changes in the app will have you waiting anywhere from 2 to 20 min just to change 1 thing. And if you have to go over an issue like speed test etc. more than once you’re in for a long day. Overall probably the worst interface I’ve ever used in my life. Especially when using a product that costs over $2-300. It feels like they cheaper out on the app. FYI I’ve been trying to diagnose an issue on 1 of my nodes for over 5hrs & most of that has been using this terrible app.

NIGHTMARE
absolutely terrible app. Doesn’t work 90% of the time, and when it does work it constantly logs you out, fails in the middle of setup, and gives out wrong information (node is online when it is offline, and offline when it is actually online and internet is working fine). Whenever there is any power outage or temporary internet disconnection, all routers fail and never connect back. And any attempt to reset them constantly fails and ends up taking days to get them working again. change to TP-Link, it’s a blessing.

2+ years no update?
This app is a generation behind what else is on the market. I have a multiple node WHW03 mesh system and I tried Eero Pro (fabulous real-time app) and Asus BT6 (excellent app just not quite as good as Eero.) Both felt like they were from a different generation of technology. Should I upgrade my network I can’t even imagine staying with Linksys which is a shame. I’m happy with the “network” just not the app.
Latest version Speedtest not working
Have not tested all previously working features but Speedtest is no longer working. Only ping is completing while download and upload fail.

Was great once upon a time. I rely on this app to monitor networks at 4 locations and have 15 nodes in total. Now dog slow, can’t get to some networks randomly, or just locks up.

Two years without an update
It’s been two years since the last update! Is anyone monitoring this APP?
Good app but could be better
In general this is good app, but it takes time or cannot load when we are reopen the app. I have to shutdown and open again from scratch. I have to manage 4 different sites. Moreover, if we can have a log of total download and upload data last 30 days will be great.

it doesn’t update the actual stats
one of the nodes keeps getting disconnected.unplugged the power and the app still says connected.app doesn’t show the actual status of the device.

App is horrible
App spends way too much time on the white “Getting router settings” screen. It’s constantly playing games about wanting you to login and when your internet is actually down, this thing is a nightmare. Ugh.
Offline Support Lacking
Not sure who designed a wifi router management app that required an internet connection by default. There is a way to connect to your router while the internet is down, but it’s quite buggy and barely works.

App is unreliable
Not sure if it’s the app or the router but this thing is buggy and it’s been that way for years. The mesh WiFi works good and I’ve had it many years so I put up with the app but I’m getting close to dumping it all and finding something better. It hasn’t even been updated in over a year so I’m getting the idea that Linksys is over it. No ability to turn on or off connections to individual devices. If you can even rename a device at all, you’re lucky if it stays renamed. It can take 10,15,20 tries to rename before it might work.
App missing helpful features
The app is good but not great, certainly not deserving of the rating of 4.6 it presently has. This app should operate on the horizontal for iPad users, not just with a vertical aspect. This is a pretty basic omission. Also, it doesn’t provide reliable operating status on the nodes, which can be effectively ‘down’, and yet the app will not show this. I don’t know completely the “art of the possible” but I wonder if there would be value in being able to disconnect and reinitialize devices connected to the network, rather than having to restart routers altogether and take down the network for all uses, in order to get devices reconnected, and, maybe, rather than having to run around and power cycle devices, especially since I often notice I still end up having to totally reboot the routers and network. It just seems like software ought to be able to identify and handle faults more graciously for a user trying to identify problems and restore normal operation. It would also be helpful if more vendors dependent on network services would enable ways users could report their problems concurrently to both device providers and Linksys, so users might see more performance problems overcome sooner. I also notice that the app is often slow registering the actual status of the mesh devices. And whenever I restart the router, I always get this message telling me to turn on my controlling devices network services, when they are turned on. This is a red herring indicator, while trying to restore a system. I think maybe I’m getting this simply because the router is down, due to the restart, rather than a need to change settings on my device. I’ve learned to ignore the false indication, but it’s annoying, and I’m uncertain whether failing to make it go away delays the restart, although I don’t think it does. But uncertainty is the enemy of effective trouble-shooting.

Who developed this app and why are they special needs? Software doesn’t recognize hardware, hardware won’t communicate properly, glitches and bugs everywhere. Do better!

Good router … no embedded shield security
It’s weird how Linksys offers Shield security on the Velop WiFi5 routers but not on the WiFi6 newest routers. All supported models are old models. I got a Velop Atlas Tri-Band 3-nodes wifi6 Mesh and it doesn’t support the Shield Security subscription
