Been with this bank over 20 years and this last year has been a nightmare. Holding a payroll check for 10 days and a 401 check . Going into account and taking money out for a loan without approval. I'm seriously considering changing banks .

Ok app not great service
Unfortunately we have to go with the least worst option when it comes to doing business in the US anymore. Response to the robo reply: You want more info? Hash it out here in public right after you deposit the amount your last screw up cost me plus $400 for the service charge.

Log in once per month to do a loan payment and it “forgets” my username and password because it’s been a while since last login. Then when you’re late to do your payment it will of course affect your credit score. App doesn’t even send an email to reset your password if there has been too many attempts. Fix this app, happens monthly, I can’t be the only one.

Excellent banking app overall. Easy to navigate, quick mobile deposits, fast transfers, and the balance updates are reliable. The app makes everyday banking simple without unnecessary clutter. I especially like the security features and how smooth bill pay and card controls work. Customer service through the credit union has also been responsive when needed. A few minor improvements could be made to loading speed, pay a person is on the low end compared to other banking apps and budgeting tools, but overall this is one of the better financial apps I’ve used. Solid 4/5 experience.”

The app constantly logs me out, or says system unavailable every other day. It’s got potential because when it works I line it but the constant bugs in it and failure to load is infuriating
High Car Loans
Been with ORNL for 20+ years. Had a car loan with you. Totaled that car, came back to get loan here, and you were 2% higher than Enrichment. Went with them on the car loan.

Doesn’t work
How am I supposed to access anything when the app does not load? I cannot link an account, I cannot pay a bill, I can’t do anything. Fix this. I know you have enough money.
MUCH BETTER!
I actually left ORNL for Y-12 Federal Credit Union for a while. At the time, if you’d asked me about ORNL’s customer service, I probably would’ve said it felt like the focus was more on building and renovating branches than on the customer experience itself. That was my honest impression then. Coming back to ORNL, though, I’ve changed my position. They’ve clearly stepped their game up, especially in customer service, and those improvements feel real—not just cosmetic. I’m genuinely glad to be back. I’ve had an account with ORNL since I was 13 years old, back when Martha Story was the branch manager at the Victory Road branch, so this perspective comes from seeing them over a long stretch of time. Based on that history, I think ORNL has made meaningful progress in the area that once mattered most to me.
Too many issues.
I like ORNL as a bank, but their app needs serious work. There’s maintenance going on every other day, so you’re never able to check it like you’re supposed to, the Card Lock/Unlock feature messes up to where it either says it’s locked or unlocked when it’s really not, and it’s even hard to log-in sometimes because the human verification is broken too, so it’s just a frustrating mess to deal with. When I log-in I think to myself “is it going to work today” instead of “let me log in and do this real quick” it’s frustrating, and this is a review coming from me being stuck at the gas station right now because “the card lock/unlock feature is currently disabled” and it tells me to call to unlock or lock it, but when I call, they t give me the run-around about “I need to transfer you to this person” and then that person just transfers me back..so I’m still stuck at the gas station confused if they’re able to unlock my card over the phone or not because everyone’s pointing fingers over the phone on who’s issue it is..
keep closing me out
i hate that this app works fine until it locks me out for no reason. then it send authentication code n tells me the code "THAT IT" send is invalid!! make that make sense!!

I love this app because it allows me to see immediately what activities have occurred and I can transfer money and pay my bills using this
Great app with need for minor improvements
Overall the app is great. Recently I'm having an issue where the transaction info is several days behind. It still shows pending transactions from a week ago that have already cleared. It shows the last cleared transaction as a week ago when several transactions have cleared since then. iPhone 17 Pro Max with iOS 26.5.1. App is updated. I've force-closed to no avail.
Human verifying
ORNL mobile banking is great. However, signing in is the most difficult experience and it’s not getting better! Verify that I’m human is a constant struggle.

The ORNL Banking App is very convenient and easy to use. It has every thing you need right where you can access it and the support is prompt and very helpful. Very much appreciated!
App Privacy glance is completely wrong
The app states that it does not collect any information. Yet the actual privacy statement on the website states “ORNL Federal Credit Union’s online app vendor collects, transmits, and uses Precise Location and Coarse Location. This information is collected to store Visit Information, like the latitude and longitude of the user where the event occurred.” I specifically opened a bank account here due to me liking the app privacy. This is a big let down and misleading.

Went to a fastpacehealth, and ORNL flagged my card as fraud. So now I can’t get treatment since my card is continuously being declined.

App does not allow transfers to other accounts. No matter how much it is, you’ll get “declined due to risk evaluation”. I will get another bank due to this.
