Not built for construction
Buildertrend was built by software people not builders. It is useless for estimating has no submittal functions and the workflow for rfis is a joke. There is a reason they won't let you demo the product. Don't waste your money or time.
Sign in every time
After one of the most recent updates, I now have to sign in manually almost every time I open the app. How do I change it so I don’t have to do a manual sign in every time?
Latest Update the App Worse
The latest update was a big step backward. You removed the loading screen that took users directly to a specific position in the interface, and now the workflow is much more complicated. This has made the app slower and less efficient for tradespeople who use it every day. Please bring this feature back. The update has made our work more difficult instead of improving it
The ford of apps
The app works well when it’s running the moment you actually need it then it crashes and refuses to work no matter how many times you restart it Like literally I’ve signed in 10 times stop signing me out.

REMOVED SEARCH BAR
Can you please add back the search bar for documents to make it easier to find areas in large documents (specifications etc.) pretty poor removing this.
Terrible UI from a clients perspective.
I have no idea how to find what I’m actually looking. Itemized Invoices are hard to find, I can’t review old change orders, I can’t see a breakdown of work that that’s already been performed against upcoming work. It takes at least 3 to 5 taps to get anywhere and figure out what to find. Half the time I end up just getting frustrated and going to the website.
Slow up with upload issues
The app is very slow on your phone and it will take forever to upload photos and it will crash at the end without uploading.

Overwhelming and Frustrating to Navigate
Worst part of the build process this app is. Hard to make sense of the information if you can find what you’re looking for at all. Have complained to my builder, DiYanni, but they’ve drank the koolaid and won’t listen. Horrible too from a customer standpoint.
Great for updates
As a homeowner, watching for updates is fantastic because my builder puts photos in as things happen. My only issues are sometimes the app logs me out and it can take two days to log back in.
New update
It is glitching out way to much that it won’t let you look at anything, a pop up comes out and says one or more jobs can’t no longer be accessed
New tasks not as good
We use BT extensively on our jobs. Having a central location to find information is key. Daily logs keep a record that we refer back to often. We also used the to do feature a lot until recently an update “improved “ this feature under Tasks. It is more cumbersome and harder to read. The crew has stopped using it unfortunately. In the field, simplicity and speed is key to engagement. Tasks has neither

They have become slow to innovate implement customer requests. They restrict access to your data in thier ecosystem to keep you locked in.
Great but needs commitment
I am integrating the whole package into our construction company in the UK. Getting our staff on board and contractors has been the hardest part. The cost of the time in training is substantial. I think the cost of the programme is ok. The software will do most things and is extensive. My clients love it. I have taken the view that it will take 2 years to get to the end goal and a lot of money. However it gives me full oversite of our projects, staff, documents and finance. I can recommend it if you are willing to play the long game and have numerous projects on the go. The integration with our accounts package really scares me.
Value proposition took a nose dive. Price increases are not justified
Received a price increase of $230 on a current rate of $460… up to $699/month. Buildertrend does most of what it says. Time tracking, to do list, daily logs, document and photo management. But That’s some big increase and the service has gone down over the years. No call backs, have to wait on hold for tech service, carpenters often not able to log in in the morning. Extra cost for financial toolbox. It’s damn expensive and i run a high end remodeling business. This price increase gives me pause and is exactly the type of rapacious behavior i do not like to support. Will be looking for alternative.

This app is bad in almost every way. It’s constantly being updated because there are endless bugs and glitches. Critical parts of the app don’t work sometimes. You can’t use the app while offline. They tried using AI and it was a mess; never worked. Steer clear of this app.
Great business tool
Even though it is not 100% suited to my business model it has been fantastic for tracking jobs. I have found it to be a powerful tool and it has been great for standardising processes across staff. If used to it’s potential and used diligently you will reap benefits. Simpler than other software packages I’ve used.
Daily log
After the update, it is no longer possible to save a draft of the daily log. The interface appears to have rolled back instead of being updated. Additionally, there is a constant error indicating that some attachments failed to upload.
Fix login to work with password manager
On all my Apple apps I can login easily using my password manager but this app wants me to physically copy the username and paste it in and then it won't even prompt me for the password...

Helps manage money, plans and all organization factors.
Used to be good, now garbage
Support is not what it used to be and platform has not kept up with newer more advanced and stable platforms. They wound have been better off keeping CoConstruct and migrating customers to it instead.

Loving this whole program for my construction business
Slower with every update.
They took away budgeting in app forcing me to use the web base version to check how much play we have with our jobs. Everytime I try to upload receipts into our office tab it takes forever. Sometimes it’ll just crash while I’m doing daily logs/uploading photos. It was great before and it’s just going downhill.
Three weeks in.
Needs a good connection to cell or WiFi. I live on the edge of service. The app could be made better to accommodate those like me by saving information on my phone and uploading it on its own time.

Terrible
What’s started out as a semi useful software option for builders has turned into as waste of money. Continued “updates” only make the software more useless all in an effort to make it prettier. Actual problems are ignored and non existent problems are “fixed.”
Daily Log Major Issue!!!!
Now all daily logs added will time stamp 7 hours previous to actual time. This is causing major issues with the proper order of latest daily logs. For example. I add a daily log now, the weather time stamp is correct, but the actual log stamp would show Sunday 1/2/25 11:48pm. This new update did not fix the issue. Please resolve asap. iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS 18.3
‘Fail to load’ on Home
Opening app and I don’t see any but error message ‘Fail to load.’ It says contact Buildertrend but I couldn’t find contact in the app. Retry many times and redownload app few times but doesn’t work. Can you do something for me?
Patio pergola
We just added a 20x10’ pergola to our back patio. Not only was the work done with precision and professionalism but it was great to dialog with the workers and the company. I’ll be using them again in the future ! Great work and the pergola looks gorgeous !
Temu version of Pro-Core
This app constantly has issues. Especially when it comes to uploading. If you want to upload something, make sure you have nothing else going on because you cannot leave the upload page even to answer a phone call without everything deleting itself. On top of the constant updates to fix bugs (that never get fixed) the interface is absolutely terrible. There is a drop-down menu for every drop-down menu. To call yourself a construction management app you would think that time management would be pretty high up on the ranking for app feature. This app consistently causes me to waste time in the field. Especially since everything runs through their email system and then comes to your personal email.
Fix problems
Stop signing me out, really annoying when I need to view plans. Also crashes a lot, idk why
Ok, could be a lot better
Ok for work on the road but it could be made easier to navigate. Also, it doesn't always sync the time clock unless uninstalled and reinstalled.

Over the last 6 months I have trialed every conceivable Project Management tool. Some are OK, but leave out the most important parts that are needed desperately. Also, some are like playing concentration game and have dark rabbit holes. This program is easy for everyone from the laborer to my project manager. It's simple but all inclusive. Buildertrend will do anything you ask of it. The most time consuming part is the set up. Plugging in all of the info. But after that it's on mostly auto. That is ultimately what is needed! If your missing text messages, can't remember what email that document is in. This is an absolute must have, period.
Inconsistent message history
This app does not save messages that the management company doesn’t directly respond to. If you ever need proof of communication and only used the app there will be nothing saved and you will not have proof of messages being ignored. It’s better to defer all communication to email so there are records.
Issues
This app since the update keeps logging my account out every time I close the app and open it. On top of that the app also turns off the face scan id feature to log in every time I am signed out. Very frustrating

Tasks
To dos were replaced with tasks. Exact same premise, just completely unusable and worse in every way. It even looks like trash.
Missing messages
I can see that I have messages by the number next to the inbox. When I click the inbox, I don’t see the new messages. I can see them on the website, so something isn’t synching correctly.
