Bug
After hitting “play” and selecting the course then hole by hole with stats when you try and pick the tees the wheel does not go away to move forward to keeping your score. Hope that makes sense. Thanks Edit: the “done” button after selecting tees is white on a grey background. It works but extremely hard to see. Please fix. Thanks. Edit 2. Looks like there was an update today that changed the visuals and the done buttons is clear. Thanks for the update.
Buggy App DO NOT BUY!!!
This app is extremely buggy constantly keeps losing scores gets confused between the watch and the app all the time please do not buy. I’ve been trying to work this for a couple of years. I’m finally giving up.
Good App, Lacks in Some
The app overall has so much good going for it. The stat tracking is great and the GPS is fairly good. It is a little disappointing that the GPS rendering is flat 2D course models when the free version of 18Birdies has fully rendered, 3D satellite image rendering. I feel that is something that could be improved since you are paying to use the app. That is really my only did on the app.
Poor Customer Service
I have written GHIN three times explaining that once the Trial expired I purchased the membership but have not been given access to the app at all. All I keep getting is that the Trial has ended to sign up. So I’m stuck with a hand full of score cards that need posting. GHIN has left me very disappointed.
Honestly could be a little better.. needs something that can help golfers get acquaintance w another
It’s the main most popular app for keeping up w your handicap so it should be 5 stars/ flawless app in my opinion maybe have a place where ppl could see each others scores from local scores // maybe offer place to have their phone # or something that can help golfers get acquaintance w one another
One thing
It would be really nice if there was an Ai to tell me what scores I need to shoot to lower my handicap. I have scores that confuse me why my handicap goes up so much and I’d like to know why. Other than that it is a great app.
Terrible quality for price
App feels like is from 2010 and has ads everywhere, even after paying annual fees. It’s a money machine and doesn’t even give you good data as the entry options are limited. Poor quality app for such a large organization
Good but one suggestion
I enjoy using the app. Free version yardages are fairly accurate and the scoring easy to use. Would like to have more game stats (chips, green side bunkers, penalties, etc) as found on competing apps. I like the stat percentages after the round but would like the raw numbers displayed as well instead of having to return to the scorecard.
Used to work until they messed with it.
Working great for years and after they did an update it now wants me to login all the time and I lost all my other golfers on the app.
Lacks reliability
Just about as reliable as my golf game.
App Issue selecting tees
App just recently won’t allow me to select tees, date, or starting hole, tried login/out, delete, turn off phone etc
Unstable
Unstable during posting of scores. Got locked up in the round and was unable to restart or post score. Lost the round data. Had to uninstall and reinstall per help desk. Really? In 2026? Not as good as other golf apps.
Dropdown box for states not working. Have the most recent version of the app.
I cannot select other states.

Integrate with Apple Health
I walk when playing all the time. App works well enough but it should log steps and a workout into Apple Health. Almost every other golf app does that (like the Grint and the Garmin golf app).
Great app for golf sickos
Overall it is a great app for hole layouts and distances that you can use if you have a handicap. The only downsides are the slopes on a green are behind a paywall. And you can't use it if your handicap isn't in season. I wish I can still use it just for the maps, but not submitting a score, in the offseason.
Bad App
I have spent multiple times trying to pay for the membership through the app with no luck. I messaged support for usga and it’s been 10 days no response
Better Tracking
I use this app every time I golf to track my round. If I am playing in a league or outing I am likely using golf genius. I cannot “post my score” in GHIN because it will create a 2nd round as Genius is being used. I wish it had a way to just track my stats, and skip submitting that round score, so that I can watch/follow my stats over time but not submit my score 2 times for 1 round. One time through GHIN and again through Genius. ALSO, I would love a way to track penalty strokes per round. I’m working on getting less penalties, and would love to see how they impacted my game overall. If there was just a check box for penalties or something that showed you how many you had with stats/chart over time that would be great. Thank you
poor gps function
GPS doesn’t work well with apple watch. Frequently loses connection to phone and won’t reconnect. GPS watch software not well designed either.
Can’t change tees
It’s a helpful app when not glitching out. After it knows a course, you can’t meter a score from different tees.
Stats update
Helpful stats to include for each hole and accumulated totals would be the penalties accrued and sand shots.. would enable a better understanding of those high scores and what created them… also help at what is driving improved scores…. Very similar to current driving accuracy and greens in regulation stats
Never works for me out on the course
I mentioned that my renewal was coming up on my GHIN app subscription when talking to a friend today. His immediate response was, “Oh, I hate that app! It never works for me while playing.” That’s the rub with me as well. I can see how my stocks are performing, check email, or order stuff from Amazon while I’m on the course. But get a view of the 12th hole, forget it. It’s simply not reliable when I need it the most.
Courses missing
Few courses are missing - that needs your attention - I am from india - KVGC - OXford club and few more

Crashes when resuming play
The app worked well when recording scores until I finished a round and neglected to record the score for the last hole. When I got home I tried to add the score. The message read Resume play, Delete, or Never mind. I tried resuming play and the app repeatedly crashed. My only option was to delete and I lost the scores for the first 8 holes. Next time I’ll also keep a written score which defeats the purpose of using the app.
Easy and efficient application

Not Good
The app drops scores from the card after inputting scores / stats during the round. Worst golf app I have used.
Overall great app
Overall this is a great app, it has an easy to use interface and has nice gps. The only issue is I play where there’s no cellular and have to download the course gps beforehand. But that’s not the issue, as soon as I switch to the scorecard, the gps won’t open again.
Okay to track handicap, needs more shot/stat options
Easy way to post scores, but lacking features. Stats is okay, but need the ability to mark penalty and or bunkers for save percentage. Please update and I would probably upgrade.

Why can’t is find the Apple Watch version?
Apple Ultra 2 Watch
I used the one round free version with Advanced GPS. The app worked perfectly on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, I do not have data on my Apple Ultra 2 watch and the app on the watch froze and crashed and was too distracting to me. The watch app and Bluetooth will not work because I leave my phone in the golf cart.
Needs Apple Watch Feature
The stats and GPS functions of the app are great and comparable to other GPS and shot tracking apps like 18 birdies however, the thing that 18 birdies and other apps have that this one doesn’t is compatibility with Apple Watch to tell you front, middle, back yardages and keep stats without using your phone or entering it after the round. Would be nice to see this all inclusive app have the Apple Watch pairing function so you could keep score and stats live as well as receive GPS yardages using your Apple Watch for those who play with the watch on.

Can we get landscape version
Generally a good app. Two deficiencies I would love to see fixed. First, would love to see the mobile version to support landscape mode. Second, the handicap calculator does not save the selected tees for added golfers. Also, would love to have the handicap calculator be the same for the iPhone and the iPad. Right now you need to put the people on each device separately.
No more bandits
This app is a must for every golfer - it will help you generate an accurate handicap whereas till now handicaps were just a guess in many countries Make play fairer and more competitive
Doesn’t work on 9 holes
It will not record your score on 9 holes, hole by hole. And if you select 9 holes at the beginning, it won’t let you select the tees. If you try to enter 9 holes it tells you you have to enter a score on 9 holes, even if you have a score on every one of 9 holes. It just gives an error. Wish it worked for stats purposes. But I have to delete my round after keeping score on the course and just add the total. Nobody in the pro shop could figure it out either.
Crashes
Does not track or recommend club based on distance even though gps is on. Crash when on cellular and trying to submit score on cellular. Nice to see the maps though on phone. Only reason for 2 stars.
Finding other players.
I have difficulty finding fellow golfers on the app..

Crashes continually on the latest iOS version
Great but....
I can get my course handicap on my iPad with this app, but when I use the app on my phone, I can’t select the tees. This is annoying when you are out on the course, and you can’t figure out what your max is on a hole, now that we have the new rules. This app would be really useful if you could fix this.
