Not impressed
The app doesn’t update leaderboards even though you are in the correct event. Constantly have to unload and reload the app.
Quirky
We use the app for our bi-weekly games. Overall works fine except you can enter a players score, go to enter the next players score and the first players score disappears. Also, is live scoring on locked screen still in beta?
Poor Handling of Scrambles
If a player drops out of a 4-person scramble team, the team handicap index goes DOWN in Golf Genius. In what universe does that make sense? Why would a 3 person team give up more strokes to the full teams? GG blames the USGA by stating that they are following USGA guidelines. That's incorrect. GG implemented the USGA calculation for a 3 person scramble tournament into their calculation for a missing person in a 4 person scramble. Not the same thing boys and girls. I've had a series of chats/email with GG support. After several times repeating their canned response to this obviously repeat question, one support staff told me he'd escalate the issue. I heard nothing back. Our leagues have had to work around by giving mulligans to 3-person teams. Still a sore spot in league play and a constant critique of Golf Genius by members.
Very Annoying at Times
For the most part, the app seems to function well. However, when it comes to entering hole-by-hole scores, numbers clear and even holes get skipped. This has been an ongoing issue for at least the past year! It also seems like a simple fix! With that said, FIX IT! 🤨

Not intuitive
Not intuitive. Golf course staff was unhelpful. They told us we could enter our scores into the cart system and it would sync, but it didn’t and our tournament score got wiped out and not counted.
Needs GGID favorites or last used options
I repeatedly use several GGIDs for a couple groups and have to remember them to switch between the leagues/groups/events. Having the app list the last 5 GGIDs used in a drop down or the ability to favorite GGIDs used would be so helpful for users that are very active in the app. Side note when entering group scores lately if you’re too quick the first players score will not input, it remains blank but skips to the next player as if it was entered and it’s caused confusion with the women I play with who aren’t very good with technology. Seems to be a neeer glitch.

This app needs a standalone watch app for kids that don’t have phones and can still enter the scores on their watch.

This is easy to use and it’s a great bonus for keeping scores in tournaments

The Gray on Gray for submit score is hard to use and cannot see it without readers terrible for somebody that doesn’t have good eyesight
Get rid of "Swipe between "
For the love of god would you get rid of the "Swipe between the Scoring and Leaderboard screens" prompt. It requires an extra tap to dismiss it *every single time* we switch views. Or at least provide a "don't show this again" checkbox.
Bring a battery charger
Overall the app works very well. The main problem is that it will completely drain the battery in your Apple Watch over a four hour round and put a significant dent in your phone battery as well. There are other options out there that work pretty much the same, don't kill your battery and cost a lot less.

Functionality Good, Usability Bad
This app could be so great, but it needs a lot of improvement for usability. Trying to use this to navigate things like league standings and such is so tedious. Trying to use this on a phone is also hard as they have no optimization for portrait so choice is a lot of side scrolling with no frozen columns (so don’t forget what row you are looking at) or have to use in landscape. It is nice to have live scoring, but hopefully a lot of effort is going into making it easier to navigate and use.
Swipe
Ever since the new update every time I swipe to the leaderboard and swipe back to the scoring I get the instructions about how to do it. This is very ignoring. Is there a way to turn this off or opt out of this screen.

Poor design
Glitchey at times. Match play scoring doesn’t display on input screens. Rudimentary design and functionality.
Good not great
Good app. Retains information but that’s good and bad. It retains my old GGID whether I log out or not (on iPhone) and only shows me information relevant to that, not upcoming events seperate to that last golf entity. It can be confusing and is not intuitive enough for beginner users. Some tweaks and it could be very good.
Handicap calculator doesn’t work
The course handicap calculator doesn’t work for a handicap index less than 10.0. Keep getting an error message asking to enter an index value between +9.9 and 54.0. Also, on the iPhone, can’t locate the + sign on the keyboard.

Personal Tournament Use
Great App for golf course run tournaments. The live leaderboard is fantastic, however is there any possible option for charity or personal small hosted tournaments? Wondering as the $250 purchase fee is quite significant if we’re running 5-15 tournaments a summer with groups of 8-24 golfers. E

Worst app for managing tournaments
Too many restarts resigning in, repeat need for passwords. Just a dismal failure.
Mostly Great
Our club started using Golf Genius and after a bit of resistance, most have embraced it. I love it for scoring and mid tournament management. I do not love it for event registration. The font for invites and announcements is tiny and golfers are mostly old. It makes me hate seeing a golf genius email. This seems like a simple fix. One more thing. At the end of a tournament, the choices are review scores and score summary. Please edit one of these options to say: scores are turned in and you are finished and you can go have a drink. “Score summary” sounds like there are most steps to be done to turn in your card. Golf Genius has helped our club and our staff and thanks.
Makes weekend groups fun

ID?
Having to have an ID makes the app cumbersome at best. And at worst, useless. There are more user friendly apps available for scoring.
Disable “Swipe to Scoring”
Please let us disable the “Swipe Left to Scoring” feature. It is unnecessary with the scoring button one inch above my thumb. We are constantly going to Scoring while reviewing a long list of scores after a round. One degree mistake left takes us to Scoring several times. Unnecessary.

Needs more work
We are now using this for county events. Some members are happy to use them and others not. However the app still requests scores from all the group where only one of the group want to use the mobile app. This can be done by ignoring adding the other scores but nothing at the end to confirm scores etc. Needs to be improved like HDID where each player adds their own score only
