Beautiful Layout
The layout is phenomenal and cleanly displays my photography.
Worse
Okay I had love it for the beginning I was getting likes for my photos but yall need to get your act together and fix the bugs on the browser and app cause yall stuff keep crashing down on me
Please fix the back button
Please fix the back button. Maybe enable just like instagram where you can swipe right to go back. I have literally click the small back button like more than 5 times to go back. Please fix it.
Glitchy
This app is nearly unusable. I have to restart it constantly to get buttons to work. It takes forever to load, and page elements will suddenly compress or expand for no reason. Cannot be used in connection with Private Relay either. Fix this app, please.
So slow
The app used to be fairly fast, now it spends far too long buffering and it makes no difference whether you connect to wifi of data
Very good few bugs
Work very good great app to share your photography. There are a few bugs I have noticed. And a few scammer messaging me on the app about my photography.but other then that it is very good
Inadequate Support
500px doesn't have the tools it needs to support its user group. As a result you can expect to wait a long time to access the site, if you can connect at all. This used to be a great resource, but now it seems abandoned by its owners.
Nice design
Great ui and ux but discoverability isn’t that great. Feels like a small community and it’s riddled with bots and spam.
Bugs
The app and the site have annoying bugs. For example, photos you submit may be “accepted for licensing”, however they are not visible on your page and not visible to the public. The troubleshooting is robotic. The feedback between the user and the site admin is nonexistent. All the creative content that users submit is excellent and the community is strong, but the site and app admin do not put sufficient effort to serve this community as promised.
broken
async is out of wack!
PLEASE FIX
1) There has been a log-in issue and I am still unable to access my account. Wouldn’t even let me create a new account. 2) Options regarding photos marked as NSFW. Very tedious having to manually open every blurred photo. Lots of non-nude photos get included with this tag. 3) Large widget’s performance is inconsistent on IOS. Small widget works flawless. **Overall an awesome app though. Lots of beautiful photos by Users.**
Verify email bug
There’s a bug where it keeps asking me to verify my email, even though I already did it.
Pretty good
There should be more customization for the widgets. I’m not too interested in having a bunch of naked models on my home screen.
Landscape???
In the latest update the app refuses to go landscape on my iPad Pro which is extremely frustrating. After all this time I thought it would be far less clunky and is rather short on features.
Spends a lot of time not working
I like this site been on it for a few years like the comps etc but it’s not very stable quite often I can’t get on and it’s very slow getting worse need to invest in new servers.
Brilliant way to share images
I am a member of a camera club but I much prefer sharing my photos/images on 500px. I can view the images on my phone, laptop or computer at any time of the day or night. I have seen many thousand beautiful images from all round the world and it gives me the desire to share my images with others. Nobody is judgemental and nobody knows who I am. There have been many images that do not give me the ‘wow’ factor but I have seen so many places and animals that I will never get chance to visit or see (or even knew existed). Quite often being in a camera club means producing a certain type of image. Being part of 500px means I can share and see everything.
Buggy and unusable
Title says it all. Constant issues
problem with notifications
it's been week since in-app notifications don't work
Bugs
There’s no way to change my email to not my password. Also my email can’t be verified I always get a request failed error, then I have to close the app completely just to navigate away from that page. I can’t sign into pulsepx with my 500px account because there’s not way to verify my email. There are other times where I have to close the app completely because it’ll get stuck on certain pages. As a new user this isn’t a good first impression.
location addition unavailable
can’t add location to my pix anymore. Why? gives code 422?
Brilliant Community
It is a great facility to share comments on photos and the possibility of getting them to be selected for purchase or license with Getty Images. I generally find the app works well but recently the images are not being displayed. I fully recommend photographers to get involved at any level and like and comment on members photos this results in expansion of your following and hopefully increases exposure for interested buyers and Stock sites.
Huh?
Not sure of the intent, but the recent update has made the app and the website useless.
Good
Not great
Inconsistent performance
The app is inconsistent. It will freeze, randomly log you out and not allow you to log back in. Also there are not some useful features that are available on desktop included in the app. It would be nice to have a distinction that some photos are available to contacts instead either being totally private or public. Lately a lot of spam bots and AI ending up on there.
Nice, but …
The app itself is fine and some off the photos are amazing but it’s difficult to see who is liking my photos because 90% of my notifications relate to quests that I have no interest in despite having quest notifications disabled. Anyone know of a similar app without the annoying quests?
Great App!!
This is a great app!! I love sharing my photos and seeing what other people think off them and seeing other peoples is great! And I love how you can do quests and get great prizes ! I recommend this app to everyone!
Frustrating App
I had a portfolio as part of my membership, but it’s gone now, and says on the Web version I have to go to the App to Upgrade. On the App it says I have to go the web version to upgrade. In other words the portfolio I spent time creating and sharing with others is gone and the directions for restoring it are garbage. What a waste of time.
“Time Taken” Information
There is a need to review the “time taken” information as displayed on an upload. Presently, the information displayed is about 12 hours prior to the actual time at which the picture was taken.
Lately
I cannot upload photos from iphone, tho i can from Mac. Have checked connectivity, permissions, reloaded app etc. Frustrating
error
login and password not work bug fix !!! it is not first time verry offen
Love this app !!!
Great app love it, but don’t send me notifications don’t know why
Lot of bugs
Disappointing. Great content, but no way to view content of interest without a lot of hassles.
White bars in horizontal orientation
I am seeing white bars when viewing photos in horizontal orientation. This is in case of dark mode turned on. So at night, these white bars on the sides are disturbing.
From great to garbage
This app used to be very user friendly, and easy to navigate. Scoring was easy. Now, changes to the user interface make it quite a bit more cumbersome to navigate and find what you are looking for. Quite often I find myself unable to get out of a picture on iPad. Too often I have to completely exit the app to be able to return to top level navigation. Shame… used to be real easy.
I will not be renewing my membership.
Good luck with your picture taking.
The best photographer’s site out there.
Number one imho.
Terrible
Constantly freezes. Worst app ever.
Good app
Finding 500px 100% over Instagram. I was constantly bombarded with adverts, people following me to follow them back and then unfollowing, direct messages asking me if I wanted to buy anything from 1000 to 10,000 likes and followers for a cost. I’m not looking for followers I’m just enjoying posting and a few people coming back with genuine comments. Only complaint I have is when you go onto somebody’s posted picture and the app seems quite slow when you want to like the photo, I am assuming this is because people are uploading in the high resolution as it doesn’t happen on every photo.
Broken!
The latest update has broken the app. It is now impossible to return to the gallery after viewing any picture full screen while holding the device horizontally. The return button does not exist in this orientation. The only way out is to return device to portrait orientation to get the return button to appear again.
Excellent When It Works
The site at least once a week crashes making it annoying to post and and view photos. When it works it’s great.
Great photography
Super platform for both aspiring and experienced photographers.
App logs you out unexpectedly
I was logged out of the app out of nowhere and I can’t login. The desktop version doesn’t have the features the app has.
Slow UI
This app works so slow on iPhone so please fix it and make app fast even on slow internet connection.
go full screen with a photo and can’t get back
on ipad, i click on a photo to go full screen and there’s no way to go back? not a gesture, not an X to click, am I missing something
Number of photos uploaded is limited
As title
Best photography service out there for enthusiasts.
In my opinion this is the best photography service out there for enthusiasts. And why? Well it’s because the uploaded content is of a very high quality. The community is very supportive and the pictures can be amazing. Also, you don’t have the problem of pages after pages of selfies and holiday snaps. If you’re serious about your photography, then I strongly recommend you give this a try.
From photographer's heaven to greedy infested mess
I’ve been on 500px since 2013, back when it respected photographers and actually cared about creativity and originality. Since being bought by a Chinese company, it’s become an absolute joke. They’ve sold out—now it’s all about squeezing money out of users with gimmicks like Pulse PX and other pay-to-win “contests.” If you’re not paying for a membership, good luck getting your work seen. Worse? This platform is now a plagiarist’s paradise. I’ve seen my own and others’ work stolen and reposted—zero credit, zero consequences. I’ve emailed support multiple times and all I ever get is a canned “We’ll look into it,” followed by nothing. No action, no protection, no care. You’ve created a toxic space that exploits creatives instead of empowering them. 500px has become the very thing it once stood against: a trashy algorithm farm that rewards theft, not talent
Good app; subscription in US$ though
I like 500px, even better than the competition, but why is it that a US company like Flickr can charge in Canadian dollars for a subscription, but a Canadian company can’t?
Nice idea but keeps crashing
Hi I love your app but it’s quite frustrating to see how it keeps crashing on iPhone and iPad. Also the it’s a bit slow. Can you do anything to fix it? Thanks
Second time, same old…
Second time trying 500 and pretty much the same old thing. App isn’t exactly slick and no dark mode is a massive fail. Would also like a way to store the most used tags rather than write them out each time I post. I’ll carry on for a few months but don’t hold out much hope.
