Best photo site I’ve seen!
I love Flkr!
Glass more than half-full
Your rollback was a good decision, but this debacle made me reexamine my Flickr “experience”. This place is mostly just the social media rat race with photos. People who selfishly bulk follow simply to hope for a bigger audience for themselves through reciprocity. Simply fave for a fave. Practically no meaningful interaction (you might as well remove comments and just have faves). Now your ultra pushy “upgrade to pro” pop-ups convinced me to completely move on to Glass (which is a service I find worth paying for).
Wonderful Experience, except…
For the most part I’ve always had a good experience while on Flickr. I’m still trying to figure it out. I’m not too keen on how it works. I’ve asked technical help and they couldn’t explain how or where to learn more about it and how it works. Be careful, though, some sites are not for young users or onlookers.Others look like a good page but then they have personal images of their body parts every other photo as you go deeper into their work. I do not care to see that stuff.
I’m out
The new app release ruined for me so I’m out.
Flickr Rolls Back Flaky App
Well, good on Flickr for reverting its iOS apps to the pre-5.0.0 codebase. It’s not cutting-edge pretty, but it does work. In recognition, I’m revising my review from 1 star to 3. Hopefully they remember the lesson: a late software release is far better than a poor quality one. Keep working on it, Flickr, and give us something beautiful and useful when it’s fully baked. Then test, test, and test again. Don’t expect users to stick with you through another fiasco like this. A little more transparency in your release notes here would be nice, by the way. The “bug fixes and improvements” is vague and doesn’t inspire confidence.
Super App
Don’t know what I’d do without Flickr
Memories Gone
I lost access to my associated email and was never notified that my photos would be deleted because I was on their “new” free account. I had been on Flickr for over 14 years and predated such plan. As such photos that had only be there are now gone forever.
Too expensive
Like many subscription products it’s too expensive. If it were cheaper say half the price I would subscribe.
Hmm
I have had my account for many years now & I pay extra to keep all my pictures . I love it except now I can’t just click on a picture and keep swiping to the sides to go to the next pictures….no I have touch click on one picture and go back out to go to the next pictures…..plz fix that

Lost my photo site
Hey Flickr! Launching the app would lead me to a login for my account. Now it doesn’t. What’s going on?
Flickr App
A great place to meet people through photography. From a technical perspective, the notification system is lacking; notifications often do not work even when they are enabled on both the device and in the software. Another thing - background refresh needs improvement. The rest of the things, in general look good and work
Counter intuitive update
The ability to edit photos in the app has gone. Hardly an improvement. The instinctive swipe through your photos has gone in Camera Roll. Everything about looking at your own photos seems to take at least one step more than it used to. Uploading is clunky. Very frustrating.
A backward step??
Unable to view images on my phone in landscape (to get a larger image), or scroll from one image to the next. Have to close one image then click again on the next image. Both retrograde steps in my view. Am considering only opening in my web browser, which I think doesn’t have these issues! Please can I download the OLD app, which seemed perfect?
Just in
Great
New interface
Well, like many I was staggered at the completely new release of the rebuilt app. Sadly it was none functional, probable or obviously not tested, and a complete waste of time. Thankfully common sense prevailed and the perfectly working previous version was re-released. I have to pass on my thanks to the contact team for their detailed information on raising my concerns. Like I said, if it isn’t broken - don’t fix it.
Great Place to Store Photos
I’ve been with Flickr for a lot of years with a Pro Account. It’s a great place to store and show my photos as well as to interact with other photographers. It’s a great online photography community. I especially like the groups. I also like that Flickr automatically backs up my iPhone photos to a private album.
New update is awful
Latest version of the app is awful, you can’t even view images landscape anymore nor able to swipe right to view photos quickly. Needs reverting back to the previous version which was far far better.
相機膠卷應可自訂分組
相機膠卷預設不應強制為上傳日期分組。作為網路相本,拍攝時間比上傳時間重要多了。
Best app ever
Flickr is magic and life changing for the better. Flickr is the best website to discover new worlds through photography.
Flickr 5.0 update is no upgrade. What a mess.
I’ve used Flickr for years and never had any troubles with it. The new version 5.0 update has made this app worse in almost every way. It’s so clunky and messy to use now. I’m unable to upload photos directly to Flickr from my iPhone. I cannot scroll through my Camera Roll and instead I have to open/close each photo one at a time. The Stream feature has its own flaws and also makes scrolling through my pictures quite difficult. Adding and editing groups of pictures is now much more ponderous than it ever was before this new “upgrade”. I could go on, but why should I bother? I think it’s time to find a new app to use for managing my photos.
Shockingly bad update - thankfully rolled back
Update released with numerous bugs and basic functionality removed (eg unable to swipe between photos). Made the app not fit for purpose. Did Flickr test any of this with their users before implementation? Did not seem like it. Fortunately they were quick to react to adverse customer feedback and made the welcome decision to roll back to the previous fully working version within a week. Hopefully the next update will be fully functional and properly tested before release.
New update is not great (July 2026)
I’ve used Flickr and the Flickr app for years but I really don’t like the latest update. The layout of photos in the Home Screen and your albums is awful, I only get to see one photo from the people I follow rather than three like you used to, and I can no longer view in landscape if I rotate my phone. My view is if it ain’t broke…..
Customer Since 2013
I’m a photo enthusiast with almost 2000 pictures on Flickr. I am listed as a Pro and my images are backed up at full resolution.
Angry
I have a Pro account and have used Flickr for years. I had created a special Yahoo email specifically for my Flickr account, and did not use the Yahoo account for anything else. Some time ago, Yahoo deleted my account because of apparent inactivity and when Flickr forced me to sign back in, recently, I was unable to because I don’t have access the email account. I’m effectively locked out, even though I’m paying for a pro subscription. I emailed five days ago, and have no response. I’ll be canceling my account, as soon as I figure out how.
Old app is best app
Why change it at all? The new version was a much reduced and frustrating experience. Thanks for restoring the original.

Lovely App!
I absolutely love the setup of this app it’s so intricate with all the little details and clean to where it doesn’t become confusing!
New version of app sucks
Flickr: Lets break the whole user experience but completely redoing & annoy user’s even more. Users: Well done you’ve succeeded, what once took 1 or 2 clicks now takes 4, just do a search for a user. Oh a user had 1000s of pictures or favourites, but you’ve made it so only a few are shown. Great job in users for moving away to another app.
New format
I don’t like it. It makes searches take longer and it’s harder to add photos.
Key features missing
Numerous issues, searching albums does not work properly, images don’t auto rotate on iPhone and others. No visibility of when theses issues will be fixed
Terrible update that doesn’t scroll through pictures
Have been using Flickr for over a decade and really love how I can store and share photos with family. But the update this week has removed one of the most important features - the ability to scroll from one photo to the next. Please please change this back.
Quality photos showing plant diversity
Photographers of vegetation, plants, and plant diversity on Flickr show outstanding quality and detail.
A Flickr Pro’s Plea: Test Before You Ship
I’ve been a Flickr Pro since 2009. I currently have two Flickr Pro accounts. I retired after working in IT trenches for almost 40 years. At all of the companies where I worked, software releases, especially for new products, were carefully tested and managed before being deployed in production environments. Since Flickr was last acquired in April 2018, I have repeatedly (and politely) suggested publicly (Flickr’s Help Forums) and privately (Flickr Support) that the company should adopt more professional software release and deployment management practices and tools. Clearly, Flickr did not do this with the new mobile apps. The bugs and missing features in the new releases of the Flickr mobile apps are inexcusable. That said, I am posting a suggestion I made in Flickr’s Help Forum in March 2019. I stand by what I said then, now more than ever: “Thanks for the updates, Don. I appreciate the efforts you and your team are taking to transition to AWS. I’ve been in IT for almost too-many-years-to-count and work for a very large corporation, so I understand that your migration project is enormous. I’ve found the Help Forum to be useful and even entertaining at times, but I do think it is difficult to know where your migration project stands overall, the status of outages (yesterday), and so forth. Suggestion: Perhaps you could set up a project dashboard that we could easily access to see the status of the various infrastructure activities underway, outages (planned and unplanned), common incidents, an estimated timeline of upcoming releases/features, etc. (This suggestion is in line with some of my earlier ITIL service management posts.)”
Don’t like the new
I don’t like the new app. You now can turn your phone to landscape and view in full screen, it all feels a bit clunky. Bring back the old one.
always auto logout
Very nice new GUI, but why the app will auto logout..
Pictures don’t update
The PC version is fine, ipad version is also fine. BUT the phone version of this app doesn’t update changes made to the picture. The thumbnail is changed but when you click in, it’s either still the old picture or it’s blurry. I can understand if it was within 24 hours but it’s been almost a month since I made changes to these pictures. Now when I click in, the picture is blurry like it can’t decide if it wants to download the rest or not and it’s just stuck like that.
The Focus is a Quality Experience
The site is simultaneously complex and intuitive. Those characteristics make for an enriching experience.
Total Disaster
New version is a total disaster. I cannot see photos by the people I follow as the home feed is full of recommended photos. Why has this been implemented? If this stays like this I will remove the app as it is of no use to me.
New update
The newest update 7/09/2026 has potential but I feel the devs put more effort into redesign rather than initiating new features than streamlining already existing ones. It would’ve been nice to see web only features like messaging introduced to the app and adding a dark mode toggle rather than making it native. The photo stacks have been appearing just as a number on the right but unlike previous versions will not show up as a stack layout and make you directly click the photo and scroll individually through uploads. I really have been enjoying Flickr and I want to see it thrive. I believe there’s an emerging demographic looking for this exact platform…but, feel it’s being left behind from slightly outdated ui and basic quality of life features/ preferential settings. Hope things smooth out soon!!

Flickr is the apex of photo sharing applications in every way
I’ve been paying for my account for over 10 years and it is without a doubt the best service I use and worth every cent. They place no limit on the size or number of images, so you don’t have to crop or shrink any to meet some bogus limits and can post all of your images in their full glory. This is becoming more and more an issue with the latest “35mm” mirrorless cameras from Leica, Sony and Nikon that sport ca. 50 MP sensors. In addition, Flickr provides what I think is the best security and image protection control technology available. If you’re a photographer this is where you should be.
Oops - something went wrong!
Flickr has stopped working on my iPad - when I open the app, it just shows three old photos and if I touch anything it says ‘oops - something went wrong’. It still works fine on my pc. What’s changed??
Super
Super and simple app. Great improvement over previous version! Tools are super!
