I will not accept and form of apology from this company. I used to love it. Now i get nothing but misleading email and notifications all of which are based around a paywall. Only to see the fullest extent of what these messages are even talking about i must pay them money first and there are much better platforms out there like pixels that are not like this. Its sad because i started on this app and its just trash now

Losing Integrity
They seem to be selling out to social media voting which is not based on photography skills. Your AI generated or terrible images get voted because of social popularity. They want me to share my entries on facebook to get more votes. Isn't this judged by professionals to win? Social ignorance will soon rule this app at the pace it is going.
It’s a 50/50 for me now
I’ve been using this app for a long time now, been paying for it as well to gain more access, but the last year I noticed, that while I still had paid for the year, I no longer had access to the things I once did. I reached out to try to resolve this issue, and it’s extremely hard to get a hold of someone, and when I did, they completely ghosted me after responding to me once. I love this app, and how it can help photographers whither it’s professional or hobbyist, but I’m no longer feeling comfortable paying for something that won’t even give me what I paid for, or let alone, no one responding to correct this issue.
Enjoyable
I used to do a lot of photography. I even had a darkroom years ago. I enjoy being able to share my art and view others. PLEASE STOP WITH THE INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE THAT I CANNOT CLOSE.
No AI guardrails, popularity contest and winners who do not follow contest guidelines
Have had multiple communications with VIEWBUG team about AI photos and no guardrails, winners of contests not following guidelines. Recent winner of candid city people contest was a model posing in a parking lot. Popularity wins contests meaning you get folks to vote for your photos to increase VIEWBUG memberships. Even professional “ photographer “ judges do not award based on contest criteria. Buyer beware and protect your photos.
Great app! Needs landscape rotation tho ;)
I love using Viewbug! Great community with a variety of challenges available to sharpen any photographer regardless of experience. Only thing I wish for is that Viewbug was viewable in landscape orientation. I use my iPad primarily as a second laptop, so an option to use it in landscape mode or have it rotate automatically would be nice!
Can’t log in
I used to love this app! But it logged me out and went log back in. It keeps telling me an error has occurred. It’s hard to use an app that won’t even log you in.
Overall good
App is great but when it comes to viewing notifications and messages it does not display any messages or notifications newer than 4 months ago.

Layout and functionality needs help!
This App’s layout and functionality needs some serious help. I enjoy the communal aspect but the navigation is completely confusing, ambiguous and not at all user-friendly. Good luck remembering how you got to somewhere before. None of it makes sense. It a true challenge. It doesn’t even swap between vertical and horizontal mode on an iPad. You’re stuck with an awkward “vertical.”
I think it’s rigged
When I downloaded this app for the first ten days I was given rewards and I kept ongoing getting gifts and followers and “MESSAGES FROM THE DEVELOPERS saying stuff like this photo is awesome than after the first ten days I got nothing absaloutley nothing. And it seems to be all the people that have a membership for the app have more followers like there was someone who just stood in different places and he has 35k followers and yes he was premium . Pretty much I think this app is rigged and filled with bots its a waste of your time .
Great way to get seen.
I don’t pay for the full version as it makes me choose the best of my images which in turn hopefully will make me a better photographer. It is easy to use and friendly
Beware
I paid for membership yet I need to restart the ap every time I want to do anything no email comes back not available the worst ai help sends you to a dead link do not use this app until this is fixed it’s horrible but has potential the company I imagine is a fat bald lazy guy using ai to do multiple jobs but doesn’t work. Can’t even apply for contest because it’s so bad it makes you shut down the ap and try again…. Give me my money back !!!!!!
Great Photography App
I love spending time on this app. It is one of my top two favorite photography apps. What would make this 5 stars would be if I could upload more then one photo at a time.
Glitchy
Almost every time I open the app I have to close it and reopen it. It freezes too. Where do I see all these community awards? I get emails telling me I have peer awards and comments but I can’t see a thing. And you want people to pay?? Nope
Ever disappearing awards and photos
Everytime the software updates my photos and awards disappear it has taken up to 4 days for them to reappear. There should really be a fix for this bug. Otherwise easy to use.
I love it …… but …..
I truly do love this app however, a lot of emails that I receive are misleading. The email sent from the app owners should be more direct and not like a batch email if you wanna buy my photo cool by my photo don’t have me click a link thinking you’re gonna buy my photo and it takes me to learn more about everyone else’s photos that’s all other than that. I love it.
Inactive Account Charge
I cannot access my old account. I put in my username to reset my email. I received an email and could not reset it. I was told through emailing them that I don’t have an account with that email even though I received it using my username. I cannot get a hold of anyone at VIEWBUG and my credit card was charged when I haven’t accessed it in a couple years after canceling my paid membership. I have tried to contact them many different ways to resolve this. I’m opening a credit card dispute. UPDATE: I logged into my account after a few guesses (this was a year ago 2024). I completely deleted my account. Fast forward to July 16, 2025 I am receiving email after email from VIEWBUG saying my credit card information needs to be updated. I don’t have an account anymore. I’m being spammed with emails asking me to update it on an account that no longer exists. I’m glad they can’t charge my card. This is unethical and I cannot in good conscience endorse VIEWBUG. I wish I could give them zero stars.
Great App
I love this application. It lets me access my account, post photos, join contests. Anything I can do online I can do it on the phone.
Great for phones, not tablets
5 stars on the phone version, but on a 15” iPad everything is grainy and compressed. Really annoying.
Push notifications pain in the ash
Love the app… but get rid of the constant “enable push notifications” banner. It’s there every time I open the app after closing it! GET RID OF IT! Stop forcing people into stuff they don’t want.
Cool app
the bugs and glitches were fixed, still would like to see the app become more like the website. can’t award photos in app, only like them.
So many bugs, and keeps getting worse
I used to love this app, but recently there is bug after bug. Currently, none of my new uploads are showing up, and my photos won’t update. Another thing that’s gotten very annoying is how most competitions are for paid subscribers, when there used to be more availability for those that choose the free version. I wish this app would go back to what it was a couple years ago. It’s awful, now.
Awards
This app has many photography challenges and contests. Members get to create photography challenges for their peers which is a great way to be involved and not just be a photographer. They keep innovating and that something that I like because it means that they're putting a lot of thought into always keeping it fresh. I am not sure why on this last update I cannot see awards on my photos whether their pre-existing or just giving.
Problem with uploading
Problem with uploading photos. Your app is pretty good, but it has a glitch as far as uploading pictures.

Hi I am having endless problems trying retrieve my account after changing my phone and my email address I have no access to my old email and would greatly appreciate some help from the VIEWBUG team to do this as I don’t want to start from the beginning again after so many years, I’ve tried sending an email with no response, I can see my account and look at my photos but can’t claim it as my own account HELP please

Having trouble logging in
I haven’t been logged on the app in a while and there was a notification in my email that intrigued my interest. Anyway, I can’t seem to log on. I have the right email and I don’t think it’s not the passcode either. I keep on getting a box saying “Error. There was a problem signing in”
Glitch
I love using VIEWBUG and I’ve been a member with VIEWBUG since 2020. I would give 5 stars but I am giving it 4 stars because recently I’ve noticed that my inbox always says I have messages when I don’t. The notifications I received from VIEWBUG in my emails don’t match the notifications that I have showing on VIEWBUG.
Irate the hell out of me when apps don’t rotate landscape!
How hard is it to have your app rotate landscape so as to work properly on iPads? There is a world outside of insta and most pictures will always be landscape, so why do i have to hold my iPad Pro like a clip board to use this app?
Limited functionality
I discovered VIEWBUG whilst looking for something else on the App Store. I downloaded it, liked it but quickly realised I would need to upgrade to the PRO version. $39.99 was quoted, which seemed a little steep but, as a UK user, I was expecting to pay the appropriate exchange rate. Was therefore pretty annoyed to find that I had been charged £39.99. $39.99 does not = £39.99. Non US users therefore seem to get overcharged. The app seems a little clunky. It doesn’t load or update without refreshing the page. Information about rewards is limited. I changed my preferences to get notification by text but am getting lots of emails. Although I have updated to PRO the promised 500 coins have not been added to my account. I decided to check whether VIEWBUG was also a website as well as an app, and was pleased to find that it is. The website seems far less clunky and has much better functionality. Although I prefer viewing images on my iPad, I will probably use my laptop when using VIEWBUG. Portrait-style apps are so annoying to use on an iPad. Am I enjoying using VIEWBUG? Yes, I am. Would I recommend it to friends? Not yet. The above issues would prevent me doing so.

I have loved the time I have spent on VIEWBUG. It is not only a competition sight it is a great way of meeting like minded people. Because of VIEWBUG I have traveled over the pond to visit friends I have made on VIEWBUG. The community is second to none and u can win some great prizes, keep up the good work
Stole my $$$
This application choose to take my money then proceeds to not allow me to have the membership I paid for so I will be removing the application as soon as possible and how proud they must be to be thief’s of people money
Love this app
I love this app and how it gives me a chance to grow and share my photography.. the only thing is that since one of the updates i constantly have a notification saying I have a new message but don’t ever really have a message… either it’s invisible to me or it was there and then disappeared but never cleared out… if there is a way to fix it then awesome…. Otherwise I love the app.
Haha I’m an amateur.
I like to take photos. I’m obviously not a pro, but I’m not a beginner. That’s why I look for a phone app to post my work and not try to make it a ‘full time job’ like half of my graduating class. This app unfortunately only ‘rewards’ the pros. If you’re a beginner there is literally no chance to do anything significant with your photos. If your photos are even half-way-decent they will be categorized with ‘Angela’ and her awful iphone pics of her kids and half-dead plants on her over priced patio. Anything better will be looked over for the photo on the accounts that people pay for. Really, just not a good app for anyone that cares about photography past their phone app and filters because it will make you feel bad and degraded.
Great idea, poor execution
The app is terrible. So many glitches and bugs. I love the premise of it, and I have found the content inspiring and motivating, but I have to use the desktop site if I want things to work properly. I would rather use an app on my phone, but this app has too many things that don’t work right. The options can get a little overwhelming too… There is just a lot on the site to navigate… But I am having fun with it. We’ll see if my interest in it can be maintained. It would help if the app developers resolved so many of the ongoing issues.

Love the app & being part of a worldwide photographic community & sharing my love for photography with like minded people of all ages & varying levels of expertise. The competitions & challenges are good fun & an opportunity to share the images I take. Great fun & well worth a go if you like photography!
Ultimate membership scam
I purchased the ultimate membership plan on March 21,2024. I have yet to see the membership in my account. I’ve sent 4 emails regarding this. I tried contacting them on the telephone and it’s just a message that directs me to their email. I guess I’ll now have to contact my credit card to get them involved. Scam
Brilliant app albeit some issues uploading
Since finding VIEWBUG I’ve enjoyed the content provided and the community on the site. It is a perfect place for both professionals and amateurs alike. My only problem is that I only seem able to upload images when I access the website as the app does not appear to allow me to share new photos. If this could be resolved it would definitely be a 5 star app

Great community, shame about the app
The community of photographers at Viewbug is fantastic. Excellent professionals all around, posting photos, sharing insights, and generally being supportive of one another creates an amazing sense of community that is integrated and wholesome. Shame the same can't be said about the app. Viewbug's app is, for lack of a better term, busted. Basic functionality like being able to view your likes and comments is missing, constant crashes will dump you out to the main screen with zero warning, and simple things like accessing your private messages is so broken you might as well just do it on the website. Until the app is fixed, these issues will persist and continue to cripple what would otherwise be an outstanding experience. At this point, I simply cannot recommend it.

Free not all pro
You made it so you have to pay to use the app all together, please sort it so it is like other photo/video editors you get certain features for free but the rest you have to pay a subscription to. I have been recommending to try it by a friend but I don’t have the money to be paying £40 or more a year because of the money I get paid. So please do some free features when people can try it and obviously if they like it then spend the money and if they don’t then they can delete it. It seems like you just take all their money without letting them try it first.
Could use improvement, but what doesn’t?
If the ppl messaging me and rewarding me with kind words for my photos are real and not A.I. then this app is solid.
