It is extremely reliable to go online and see what is in my bank account rather than trying to go to ATM or something else to get the same thing done.
Update is terrible
The update is awful. It takes so much longer for the app to load. And it’s harder to navigate and see transactions.
Where’s the widget
When will the app have a widget available on iOS?

This new update that doesn’t even show you every transaction that you make, is horrible. This is some bad update. The way the app was before where you could see every transaction and even every check including an image of your check. Please go back. It literally now seems like an old out of date app. My app prior To this update was flawless. Now it shows Estatements and also the card control isn’t working. Just go back to the previous way.
All change is not progress
The new rev (August 2026) is awful. Clearly someone *assumed* everyone would like this; but it’d take someone who actually has to use this app daily to understand why this sucks. If only they’d taken input from actual OFB customers; right? First, it now takes TWO clicks - twice what it took before - just to see an account balance overview. There’s no good reason why it has to be this way - but there it is. It’s just shoddy coding. Second, along with the upgrade, the system has defaulted to sending an email EVERY SINGLE TIME you use a debt card or do anything else. Even if you have such notifications turned off. There does not seem to be any way to disable this *convenience feature*. Expect your inbox to be near full of pointless e-mails by the end of a busy day. You wouldn’t need them if only you could just, with one tap, see all your account balances a few times a day - like it used to be. Then couple that with ‘longer than usual’ wait times on the phone - WRONG; it is *usual* to wait 30 minutes on hold; so that’s the new *usual*. The new app version is emblematic of a real defamation of the once-excellent Ocean First customer service. ‘For it is the doom of men that they forget.’ [sigh]
My # 1 Choice of Bank
I have been an Ocean First Customer for the past 25 years when I first moved to Ocean County. I have been to many branches, and my experience is the same: knowledgeable and considerate tellers and managers who always greet with a friendly hello. My dog Milo, a now 14-year-old have Havanese-Shih Tzu, has always loved the kindness and bones he’s been given 🐾.
New App Sucks
Big update for a worse looking interface and a mobile check deposit feature that barely works and is objectively worse than the one prior. So frustrating I will actually change banks 👍👍
Feature Request
I loved the ability to see all my transactions in one spot to balance my budget. Since the last update, I lost the little blue dot next to each transaction that let me know if I’ve reviewed it or not. May we have it back please? Financial Tools > View Transactions.

What happened
I can’t login anymore with the app (yes I have the latest version downloaded). On a browser I can, I the app it just spins
The bank balance in home is too big
Make the amount in home smaller like before and in green not black, green is just better. Add dark mode option also. Old UI is smoother
Very disappointed with new site
Not user friendly since loan payments outsourced to differnt billing site , since than my credit score went down 40 points. Some how one of my loan coded as faulted . I went to Ocean First branch, called customer support but nothing change useless. I can’t wait to get my business some other bank. Few more months interest rate go down and I’m out of this bank. I gave been working with them 25 years. There is no customer loyalty. Very disappointed…..

2026 update is horrible
New update Have to tap to use Face ID Have to swipe to see each account Can no longer mobile deposit Stop changing things. I used to be able to log on and see all my accounts without even touching the screen once
Banking is slow compared to other banks.
My checking account is never balanced online. I have to wait 2 to 3 days sometimes more for my account to catch up when all I did was move some money. This is ridiculous with the times. I need to see what my balance is the same day as my transaction. Also, weekends and should not be an excuse for the online ledger not to balance. Not when we have automated and lightening fast internet.
Mobile deposit fails
More often then not, when I do a mobile deposit my screen goes black. I have to reset the app 3 times for it to finally go through.
The new update 8/26/26
This new update is definitely harder to use. And just really don’t like the new set up. More difficult to use and pay my mortgage and transfer money. They may need to tweak it a bit because it is not better than before the update. 0-10 do not recommend, fix this

I like this app a lot. It is very useful to quickly get on and see what is coming out of the account and moving things around. I have several accounts linked to the app. Reason why I gave it four stars is because once in a while, the app does not work, it will spin but doesn’t open.

Not happy they give you zero warning when app is down for repairs. I lock my card before and after each use.. and now im seeing the app is down and will be up in 3 days. Ridiculous.
Overall good but deleted good features
I’ve been using this app for mobile banking for a while and it works great for most of my needs. My only complaint is that up until recently, I was able to have a widget on my iPhone home screen that shows the balance of my account, and that feature was removed and is no longer accessible. I used it daily to easily check my account and it’s extremely inconvenient that it was removed as a feature/widget.

This apps revamp was such a bad turn. The other way was very simple and detailed. This update isn’t any good. I get just the basics.
Ocean First Experience
We have been with OceanFirst since our bank closed six years ago. OceanFirst makes our life much easier. The no fees for ATMs is amazing and saves us so much money. It gives us the freedom to use any ATM anywhere and not have to worry about outrageous fees. The customer service is also top-notch. They protect my money in their bank with text alerts and emails that are helpful to avoid fraud. We have done so well with this bank we have opened up a savings account for the first time in our lives. OceanFirst is the bank you want and need if you ever are in need of a bank.
