Easy to use
This app makes it easy to change reoccurring payments from weekly, bi-weekly to monthly.
They suck
Referred 6 people to the site 2 of them accounts immediately deleted for no reason. Highly would not recommend to anyone

I’ve been using this app and company for a short while but so far it’s great. I like the saving pods so you can categorize and visually set goals. Also I had helpful experience with customer service Though I’m new to GreenFi I agree with many other comments here about the rebrand and think Aspiration was better. Either way I’m giving it a chance

Everything to deal with this bank is always very stressful and takes a toll every time.

For the last 3 days , I have not been able to log on. It will say “Oops there’s a problem.”

What is GreenFi?
Aspiration was cool, sounded inspirational, sounded like good was to be done. The debit card was made from recycled ocean plastic, the card hard a picture of a forest on it. Everything was cool! Was! The name change to GreenFi is so dumb. What does it even mean? Seems like a rip off of SoFi, another dumb name for a bank. I was totally into this bank for 5 years and I enjoyed telling people about it. Now this GreenFi thing weirds me out. I’m embarrassed to even hand anyone the debit card. I just got the new card in the mail this week and I want nothing to do with it. It’s been a good run but you lost me, going to another bank.
Keep Your Local Branch
I’m giving GreenFi only two stars because I learned this week how weak digital banks like GreenFi can be. Thankfully I never closed my bank account with one of the banks that actually have branches you can go to. My mom passed away a few months ago from cancer and when I received the check from her life insurance… GreenFi would not allow me to deposit it. They continued to reject it for various reasons. I was told on the last submission to “check with the issuer” which is INSANE as it is a life insurance company. There was no efforts to help me figure it out. So in the end, I went to a local branch of the “other” bank and everything was easy and done within a matter of minutes. For that reason, I will never close my other account. If I had to choose, I’d close my GreenFi account. They made an already difficult situation more difficult.
Check Issues
I really like the message this bank provides but the actual functionality has been problematic. I have tried to deposit a check remotely twice now and can’t get it cleared. I followed all instructions from the app. Still no luck

Good Bank But The App?
The bank is excellent, but the app leaves a lot to be desired. Trying to deposit a paper check is next to impossible. It keeps demanding that you get the check just in the right position and is very finicky about getting it in the right position and even when you do, your checks, gonna get declined because the picture is too blurry. I literally am probably gonna have to switch banks because I get a lot of checks now and the ATMs they use do not accept cash deposits only cash withdrawals. I’ve been a customer for 10 years and this issue with trying to deposit checks is probably what’s going to make me leave.
Can’t log in on iPad
I actually can’t use the app on the iPad because the keyboard blocks the option for verification. Since it’s an iOS app converted for iPad os, it doesn’t have an option on the keyboard to minimize it. So at this point, it’s completely useless on the iPad. Don’t take shortcuts, just make an iPad app. The iOS app is completely fine so far.
Happy customer since 2022
I’m very happy I closed accounts with the big banks that fund fossil fuels and switched to GreenFi! It’s been three years now and I am happy to see new features added based on customer feedback. Thank you for listening to us and for your continuous improvements to GreenFi. I am thrilled to see new features, improvements, and growth every year. Hopefully as GreenFi continues to grow there will be more to look forward to in the future - like maybe a spend analyzer! Thanks again for giving us a sustainable banking option that we can feel good about. As an environmentalist it means a lot to me!
This bank has locked me out of transferring funds to other banks
While my primary bank is recognized by Plaid, credit card companies, mortgage companies, and other banks for transferring money, GreenFi has said my primary bank is not “verifiable” and has disabled that link. They removed me ability to delete that account and reverify it, and when I called to have them verify it they refused to. They said they will not re-enable it and that my only option is to transfer to another bank instead. Rather than open up a new bank, the easier solution is to drop GreenFi and take my business elsewhere. I would avoid using them at all costs!
Faster deposits
I am trying to move from a bigger bank to GreenFi but this deposits are being three days out. It’s still very slow. I mean my money would be in the bank tomorrow with my capital one account. But I am trying to move away from the bigger banks so I’m willing to give it a try. But it would be great to get that moving faster.
App crashes with Face ID / support link fail
I cannot get the app to open anymore on my iPhone Air + iOS 26.2 as it crashes 100%, even after deleting and reinstalling. Also the “app support” like here in the App Store is more like “account support,” and not APP support, as it doesn’t get you any app help. Both need updating ASAP.

But I preferred the name Aspiration.
App is completely useless
Endless pop ups saying “There is a problem” with absolutely no fixes leaving people without access to their money. Great!
PLEASE HELP?!
Has the app been hacked/down, or is it just me?! The last 2 days I can’t even log in. As soon as I load the app, I get an error message that says ‘Oops! There was a problem. Please check your internet connection and try again.’ I’ve checked my WiFi. Reloaded the app. Deleted and reinstalled. Nothing. Still the error message. It doesn’t even pop up to a login screen. I tried emailing, going to the website, but my phone flagged the website and won’t let it load either. I can’t access my funds. Is there a number I can call?! Please help?!?!
Overall satisfied
Great customer service, good-cause services, but I can’t select an account to move money from when setting up recurring deposits to my savings account. I want a little bit to go from my Spend to my Savings account automatically every week, but nothing happens when I select the “from” line.
Opening the app
I use a VPN to hide my personal information. Every time I have to open the app it says there is a problem and to check my internet connection. Once I turn off my VPN, the app works fine. You need to fix the app so it works in conjunction with a VPN. Also it would be nice to see in your IRA- Redwood Fund the total gains and losses. I use NordVPN

Many years of Aspiration coming to an end
I have used aspiration from 2017 to present and overall it was a positive experience. But overall the quality of the product rendered.. banking and customer service has diminished. Originally unlimited out of network ATM withdrawals reimbursed.. they did away with that. Live chat and US based customer service.. gone. Then they switched banks from Radius to Costal Community bank which other then my banking records becoming a PDF.. was ok. Then more recently they switched from money market to traditional checking/saving accounts. Recently on the 23/24th there was system glitch (previously mentioned by another review). I had recently received my paycheck and scheduled payment for Chase CC, Discover CC and Capital One CC, as well as car payment. The glitch caused all those payments to fail. Fortunately I have another bank because if I didn’t those payments would be late. Chase and Capital One won’t let me transfer funds from Aspiration until Aspiration sends proof of ownership on bank letterhead. Guess what it’s been a week and they haven’t been able to do that. My time with aspiration is at an end.. 7+ years of mostly positive experiences tainted by some small annoying changes and massive system failures. If you can’t properly run transactions, can’t explain what happened and can’t go through the requested steps to fix this issue with my other banks.. why would I bank with you?
Unimpressive customer service
I love the concept of this app which is why I signed up for a joint account with my partner. It’s great until life happens (which it inevitably does). My partner’s wallet was stolen (he thought he left it at work) and our cards were fraudulently used. The GreenFi customer service team accused us of wrongdoing and has failed to reimburse us for the fraudulent spending despite us reporting it as it was happening. I will go to a local credit union instead to keep my money away from big banks. Use GreenFi at your own risk!

I have been with GreenFi (/Aspiration before the name change) since Jan2017 & love it so much. & they just keep making it better as time goes on. Love the environmental focus, quick & helpful customer service, intuitive app, GreenFi Plus program, Green Marketplace, & more!

It won’t let me download this app from the Apple Store and I can’t get into my aspiration app bcuz of it
New look not so appealing
I’m dreading getting a new greenfi card. The Aspiration card with trees is so lovely , and I get compliments on it. The big ‘A’ logo made of green leaves will also be missed. But it says I must update :( Great company, though :)

Still below average app
I like the bank’s mission, but the app leaves something to be desired. No matter who owns it or how many upgrades, the transactions are behind all the time. I shouldn’t see one thing in the running balance & something less in the actual balance. There should be no pending ghost transactions. They’re either pending, posted or don’t deduct from balance, period. The auto check deposit image thing is still annoying—move left, no move right, move away on and on. And they still take cut off pix that used to be rejected when I did them manually.

Customer Service is wonderful. Always helpful, never long holds. Responsive to email. Love all the app features, a lot of information is available to you. I feel if you complain about the app you are not very tech savvy. Love the bank and don’t plan on changing anytime soon.
Can’t pen app
I get an error message even after updates and trying to reinstall the app. Can’t even use this bank app what’s the point it’s been all over 6 months and nothing has been fixed
Stay away
This started out great and all. I had a recent issue and needed to do a dispute for over $40 dollars and I’m out of my money support didn’t help closed my dispute and basically said oh well not there problem. What a joke this app is it is not TRUSTWORTHY. Beware. The BBB will be informed about this.
