Awesome BPCU Branch
I always feel welcome when I enter the Bayport Credit Union on Denbigh Blvd. in Newport News. Most of the staff know me by name, greet me and provide professional personal service when I enter the Branch. They are friendly and helpful. Sometimes I join in conversation with other members while waiting to be seen. It’s a great place to belong and know I am important to them. They definitely know what SERVICE is all about.

Annoying Notification
Please turn off the constant badge app notification for the “What’s New” section when there is no notification of anything new. Edit: I wrote this review years ago and still the same problem, so I took another star away.

I have found the app to be ok. It is annoying that it always shows notifications when there is no new information.

Love the user friendly design
Number of messages shown on app symbol
You can click all the tabs in the app or outside but number of messages keep showing all the time. For example 2 messages is keep on showing on my mobile app since last 2 weeks & doesn’t go away. This is very frustrating.
Timing out
The app is great in every way except one it times you out too fast . I like keeping a paper record because some transactions take time to show up on the app and I can be in the middle of checking the paper version to the app and it will boot me out and it is aggravating having to sign in multiple times to get it done. Please extend the time before it boot you out
App barley works
With new iOS update BayPort app will work for ~ 1 week then, for no reason it after a certain point, the app will crash upon trying to open. causing me to uninstall and reinstall each time, clearing cache and other troubleshooting does not fix this error. Other than this issue it’s a normal functioning bank app with no added features over another bank
Bank Transfer
The app should allow you to connect to other banks to make bank transfer transactions. That would be convenient and helpful for those who don’t leave close to banks.

To hard to turn notifications off for stuff I have no interest in.
Check deposit hold
Every time I deposit a check, the bank holds it for days and only releases a small portion every couple days. The full amount doesn’t get released until almost a week later…. That’s unacceptable. When I deposit a check, I need that full amount of my money at that time. And BayPort didn’t used to do this. I could deposit a check and the whole amount would appear. More recently, this hold has been happening and it’s not good.
Bank debit card faulty
Bayport has nice customer service for the most part, but I’m often embarrassed when I go to the grocery store, or some other store, with money in my account, and my card is declined. So I asked my dgt to use her Bayport debit card bec she had $$ in her account, declined. So shameful. Makes me not wanna use it anymore.

I dislike the number of fees I get when transferring money. Also I received a fee when I transferred money from my money market to my checking account and did not have enough money to cover the transfer fee. This is what is driving me to go to another banking institute.
Notifications
Love the App. I hate the red notification attention in the corner of the shortcut. It seems you can never get it to clear, no matter what. Please do something about that.

God forbid you have to reset your password. A robot voice will call you and speak with the most muffled tone imaginable ONCE and you better hope you write it down because they will lock your account immediately if you mess up the entry.

Anytime I try to open the app it loads then kicks me out of it. Christmas is right around the corner and it’s really inconvenient for it to be doing this now. Please fix it.

The worst
I am so hurt..not even a courtesy call before reporting me to the credit bureau. People can miss mails. My payment history is 100% on time but you guys just messed it up, claiming that I didn’t pay 1 month. 1 month, BayPort? It was a notification I got from BBB, that’s how I knew I missed a payment. I called immediately and also paid a month in advance. I’m opening my own business and currently going through a bank but you guys have just sabotage that for me. I’ve accidentally missed payments with other banks when I changed payment methods, at least I got a courtesy call.

There is always a problem. It locks up too often. Not so innovative two-tier verification methods. Same splash screen as long as I used this app (8+ yrs). I will reinstall.

Why can I get into my acct?
I haven’t been able to get into my account. I even tried the website and it’s not working. Usually when you can’t get in for a day or so, they’d send you a notification about it but I hadn’t been told anything.
