I couldn’t survive the business world without it!
This App is useless
Every time I had to use it, I needed to be near the computer screen to verify that it is me using it… if I need to send a quote quickly on the go, amend an invoice or something else… I can’t rely on it because I simply can’t log. The security code to enter the app has 4 digits but the digits on the authentication app has four, if I enter my own phone password, it logs me out for 5 minutes… the software itself if fiddly, expensive and not so user friendly… horrible looking invoices with very little customisation allowed. If you think you’ll make your life easier, keep looking, this app is not for you. If you think it’ll make it easier for your clients to pay for the invoice, just know that there’s an extra fee for the service plus they keep a percentage of the total amount you are getting paid.
Very useful and simple
I previously did all of my Xero tasks via the desktop website. I decided to give the app a go to see if it was any good. I’m pleased to say that it is. It may not have all of the features of the desktop site but for what I need it’s great. My main focus tends to be bank reconciliations and this app really helps me to get this done with a minimum of fuss. Recommended.
BAS
I am finding it impossible to locate where to do my bas since the update a few months ago. I have clicked on every button available and I cannot find it, therefore I now need to turn on my laptop and do it from there instead, a 5 minute job is now stressful as my laptop is old, one of the reasons why I got XERO on the iPad, I can take it anywhere and quick to do the BAS. disappointed to say the least
Sell, sell, sell ?
I used MYOB for 5 years in a former Bookkeeping job. It was awesome, and I only received “updates” each quarter which were well thought out, free and were improvements - not trying to constantly upsell me to other apps made by middlemen. Question; Are your Customers more important to you than your “Shareholders ” ? And why can I not issue a Statement to my customers from my phone ? Getting a bit sick of all the unproductive slop you are increasingly serving up.

Xero log in
Disgusting account system. Need to send and invoice urgently, and xero does the let me log in. Contact Support, and the don’t respond. Is a joke
Love it but could do with another feature
It’s grate id be broke without it but the app needs the feature to send a statement as you can only resend an invoice as far as I can see
Printing invoices
very frustrating trying to print a paper record of an invoice received
Error 400
Since the latest update I have tried everything but can't get past the error code 400 at log in. Changed my password and cleared my cache and done everything suggested. Can log on through Chrome or Safari but not via the app. Frustrating. Thank you for responding but I can't log in to raise a ticket. Where do I find this on the website as just going round in circles?

“Trust this device” button doesn’t work
When signing in on my MacBook computer, I tick the box “trust this device” yet it doesn’t actually work. Every time you have to do the 2FA again and it hasn’t trusted your device like it should. Please fix asap as it’s super annoying

Waste of 30 minutes
I have Xero on my desk top but putting it on the iPhone is a complete waste of time. I logged in it said my bank accounts were overdrawn they are not it said I have not sent any invoices I have. I tried to link bank accounts and it just went round in circles log on to bank ok log into Xero enter set up key what set up key Given up
Still can’t send statement from App
Since we started using Xero, and we haven’t changed the way we use it, our monthly fee has increased from $25p/m to now $100p/m. And we are still unable to send a customer their statement from the App. Great having these new in person payment methods, but somewhat useless if we are unable to talk to a customer whilst onsite about those outstanding invoices. And yes we have lodged a suggestion/tequest regarding this issue. 4 years ago I think!?

Poor experience/don’t recommend
I have found navigating your app confusing. I signed up for a free trial and tried to cancel when I realised I couldn’t use it. I couldn’t find a way to cancel and it slipped my mind (I have disabilities too and I’m doing the best I can with poor executive functioning). When I got charged at the end of the free trial I again couldn’t find a way to cancel. When I typed in my issue. No response matched mine. I was frustrated and upset not knowing how to cancel. Somehow I found some way to email… I explained my issue and I was told in black and white terms the rule your end ie no refund, 30 days cancellation notice required, etc, and no openness to my situation. I’m on a pension and make pocket money on Etsy. $70+ is a lot of money for me to loose on nothing. I emailed back and no response. Very poor customer service and money grabbing company. This situation arose because it was not transparent how to find a way to cancel when I realised this app was no working for me.
Easy to use
My only criticism is I can’t print a delivery note.
Useless App
Can we please have it work with full functionality so that we can use our ipads or mobile phones and check chart of accounts and reports. Its useless app.
No texting quotes- no labour or materials options on quotes invoices. No deposit requests on quotes
The app is ok but it is living in the Stone Age not being able to send quotes via text msg is a big put off for my business use as we currently do this with external quoting apps. And just causes two subscriptions which is very much unnecessary. Please sort it out Xero as this is a very important feature and I may have to look at other options and cancel this subscription over it as it makes life hard work and email is very old days now also you can not have labour and materials in Separate sections on invoices and quotes. Cant re arrange lines. And NO DEPOSIT REQUESTS ON QOUTES 😱 so not overly impressed considering other apps I use do all of this

Xero has eliminated spreadsheets and I can claim a lot more of the work related expenses due to the convenience. Please continue to improve on artificial intelligence to continue to improve and recognise transactions as expenses. One thing that I’m still finding hard to find on the app is if I want to search for a transaction for example if I bought a chainsaw and I look for a chainsaw, I can’t find it on the app. Please make it easier to find the reference. I put my description to find the transaction on the app because I still have but I love this huge fan.
Far too expensive
Slow at creating invoices and adding payments, Not worth the money and the annual increase in pricing is a kick in the guts. Never again!

App updated, now when I click the + to create things, when I select from the options it just goes back to the dashboard. Please fix.
Please remove or RETAIL PURCHASE
Please please remove the default text “RETAIL PURCHASE” in the description field when reconciling an expense in the app. Each time you have to click in the field, click on the text again, click select all and then type the text you want for the description. Please just make this field empty or have the text already highlighted so you can just type if you must have the words RETAIL PURCHASE there. It’s a very easy fix for the app developers. It might seem like only a minor thing, but it is an infuriating time waster when reconciling.

Not impressed
Been using Xero for a few years now has been good but recently opted to use the card payment service (Stripe) which I feel I have been scammed, as a small business I require prompt payment but this service has strung payments out for a week plus and charge a fee 🤬 not happy at all will be looking to change to a different accounting app as a result

GST illegal
Annoying app that, incredibly, and illegally, quotes retail prices without GST. That’s ok for wholesale transactions, but not for retail. It’s frustrating and annoying. No one wants the GST separated. Do your job properly and give us a program that enhances our business instead of creating friction with our customers.
Great but too expensive
Fantastic app. Great for businesses and super easy to use but $35 a month to invoice my boss only for wages is excessive. I get it’s super convenient but the price really doesn’t justify the cost. That means I’m paying over $400 a year to do wage invoices

Fantastic product, easy to use, the easiest accounting program I have ever used, love the phone app. Book work anywhere anytime!
Missing basic functionality
Astounding that in 2024 Xero still insist that if you’re travelling you must take your laptop and not your iPad, or use the cumbersome browser (if that’s even possible). How is such a basic function as running payroll not possible within the app? Edit: Still not possible two years later. I’ve now moved elsewhere as I really need this most basic of functions.
Great for SMEs
Have used Xero since 2007, and it is great as the owner of a SME, giving me the ability to do most of the accounting side of my business. I only wish there were more options for reporting (such as being able to schedule and email certain reports), and ability to control formatting for printing. Have tried a few add-on apps for this but they never quite give me what I want.
Too many limits
Not being able to manage subscription for services is annoying. Credit card subscriptions for multiple services is the norm these days, why no recurring auto reconciled option for this. Also splitting income and outgoings by a percentage based on a category. These are two major headaches

The most laggy app I have on my phone. Multiple times I’ll go to write an invoice and it’ll glitch out and self close the app forcing me to restart the invoice not to mention the response time to click anything is ridiculous
Please bring back “approve and add payment” for invoices
I like using Xero and I find the mobile app quite handy for basic everyday tasks. I don’t expect it to be as fully featured as the full online desktop version. However, could you please add back the ability to approve and immediately add a payment to an invoice. Most of my invoices are paid straight away. But to add payment I have to approve the invoice, navigate via several taps to find the invoice I’ve just created, then I can add the payment, then it’s another few taps to get back to the main dashboard. I find this to be extremely inefficient and not at all aligned with what I thought Xero was trying to achieve. Please add back the “approve and pay” invoice functionality.
Discounts only for new customers
It works but ends up Expensive. Discounts for new customers but no loyalty discount. It would be good to get some pricing relief for longterm customers
Long winded set up
I switched to Xero because I heard it was good. I can’t even down load the app! It’s long winded won’t recognize your authenticator app so you have to download theres. You have to enter a second email - I don’t have two different email and not creating a second one to receive more spam. So I put my partners in but then I need him to open up his emails to verify but I’m at work so need to call him. It’s long winded and not user friendly at all. It’s annoying.
Making things easy
Enjoy watching & tracking the money in with the money spend. Xero makes it easy with the App so it’s on your phone & easy to track
No way to access my account
I have a xero account through my company and when I log in to the app it shows me a paywall forcing me to chose a plan to gain access with no work around. I don’t need a plan, my company pays for a plan, I can access my account fine on the desktop and on mobile chrome so why not the app? No helpful info in the FAQs on the website. Ridiculous.
Receipt issue
It looks like it will be a great app, but it won’t let me add in the ‘how did you pay’ field when entering a new receipt. If this is resolved I’ll add a star to my rating.

Been using Xero for a few years after moving over from Sage. Mostly very intuitive to use. I think it’s a little pricey for the lack of customer support. With Sage, they respond very quickly and very helpful. Xero, ages to reply and mostly send you to the ‘help’ pages. Biggest gripe I have is discounting. Why oh why can you not allow discounting an invoice TOTAL rather than having to do each individual line??! Seems pretty straightforward to implement, people have been asking for years and still no functionality…

Not mobile friendly
This app is total trash and looks like it was designed to run on Windows 95 or something. How is it possible when we can literally do nearly anything on our bones, they can’t even include a search function or permit you to view your chart of accounts? Not to mention we can’t run a payroll cycle from the app.

Annoying ‘how to’ appearing
Have been using the app for years but now I keep getting a ‘how to’ tutorial prompt when I go to create an invoice. I know how to, I don’t need to watch a tutorial multiple times! Should be an option to not show message again.

You used to be able to do expenses and edit payments, adding photos receipts.
