Incorrect geography
PlugShare mislabels the Gulf of Mexico. If it can’t get this very basic fact right, I can’t trust any of its other geography.
A couple of things would make it perfect.
I’m thinking of getting an EV, and this app came highly recommended by my friends who have one. There are two things I think it needs: 1) Allow me to use the search bar while making a Trip. If I have a planned hotel, I should be able to add it so I don’t have to switch apps to map to it. 2) Let me add an adapter to my car’s profile. If I have a J1772 vehicle, the app should give me an option to not filter Tesla if I have a NACS adapter.
It’s completely confusing to use this app
This is one of the better apps I would say, but the thing is all of the chargers that are on the network. They don’t have prices listed. They’re inside of dealerships where there a Tesla supercharger that doesn’t accept the non-Tesla chargers there’s nothing organized in this ev charging Network, you put in the filter you want slow, chargers or fast chargers it still is confusing and then the first thing that shows up as a map and then you have to change it into a list. It’s really confusing and then each one has its own membership there’s not one company that can just charge everything between blink and JOLT and Volta and shall recharge and Electrify America if you go and Ion and whatever else they have they really need to simplify this with one app.

PlugShare unfortunately lists many chargers that physically exist but aren’t actually public-access chargers. Such as Los Angeles broadcast building
Fast and lonely
Stall 5A NACS showed no connection when I tried to initiate charging nultiple times. Since no one else was there I moved to 4A and everything worked great.
Keep putting me in california, i live in Arizona
Unhappy
Can’t filter for working Chademo
There’s lots to like about this app, but the inability to filter for working Chademo stations is a problem if that’s your car type. Filtering for Chademo brings up lots of dual CCS/Chademo stations, and they don’t show as broken unless both are broken
Essential App for EV Drivers
PlugShare is an essential app for EV drivers. The subscriber sourced info and reviews are accurate and save disappointment when looking for an appropriate charger. It has useful filters and invites user participation. Highly recommend!
Search and filters do nothing
There’s a map you can manually poke around, but you may as well do that just in an Apple Maps search. The Search function searches the entire planet, not near you! I get results from Russia to NYC to Kentucky. The filters don’t work either: they turn up 0 results (for NACS, say) when that’s not true. Being able to search/filter chargers near you is fundamental—and missing.

Concept of this app is great. But setting my profile app is not easy.

I’d pay for it if it was a one time purchase but not going to pay monthly! There are other free options with better user interface and no advertising.

Level 2 Charge Access
Information on your website is incorrect! Spent hours trying to find the sites listed on your maps only to find they aren’t there! I didn’t get the memo!! Why can’t you give accurate information? Seems like you’ve your map shows e- bike charging stations— not level 2 Charging Stations for my BMW hybrid!!
Inaccurate availability
Station availability in the app isn’t accurate…app showing only 1 fast charger available in all of Brockville, Ontario…arrived in town to find 4 available at one location, and happened to speak with someone who had walked over from another location who reported that 5 of 7 were available over there. A day later and they’re all still showing as unavailable. Reset my filters and made no difference.
My go-to charger finder and planner
Since I first purchased my first 100% electric car in 2017 Plugshare has been the best app that I found for locating chargers. Great for planning trips as well.
Useless App
Absolutely terrible app when you actually need a charger. It repeatedly directs you to charging stations that are unusable or, even worse, don’t exist at all. When your battery is critically low, bad information like this is unacceptable. Completely unreliable.
Essential EV App if you are moving around.
First EV app that I downloaded after buying my EV. Saw a YouTube ep of someone crossing the Nullarbor a few years ago and they used it to find charging stations and leave reviews for other EV drivers. It helped me navigate all the competing EV networks from Perth to Brisbane. Just discovered the trip planning feature! What a time saver. I was doing this with pen and paper.
Not dependable
Fails to find Tesla chargers despite my filter parameters requesting Tesla. We had better luck using Tesla app or Google maps.
ChargePoint feed is unreliable
Hi PlugShare, the ChargePoint stations in southern Ontario are not always appearing as they should in PlugShare. I understand there is an automatic feed to the PlugShare app, please refresh or look into the connection. Thanks!

Use PlugShare instead! ABRP has really gone down the toilet the past few years. Can’t use ABRP w Android Auto or Apple CarPlay unless you have a premium subscription (Good luck figuring THAT out; the interface is so obtuse that you can’t GIVE them your money). PlugShare works beautifully with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for FREE. ABRP keeps inexplicably disconnecting navigation while you’re driving without even notifying you (surefire way to get yourself stranded w a dead battery). PlugShare never disconnects. ABRP’s interface is a nonsensical mess; whereas, PlugShare’s is pleasantly intuitive. Enough said.
Unnecessary personal Data Gathering
I shouldn’t need to create an account to plan a trip; I know it’s just to gather data to sell so that I can receive an ever increasing amount of spam and scams
Trip map issue
Hi. Love this app. First time planning a big trip and it was working great until I updated the app. Now when I move the map when editing a trip the app shuts down. This happens on an iPhone 17 and an iPhone 11. Please fix. Thanks

Impossible to bookmark favorite locations, hard to get pricing.
4 shell chargers
Setting up the app for shell was a bit of a pain chargers are pretty slow but good for the time we went to a restaurant and cheaper than parking on the street

I use plug share to verify if a charging station is reliable. More reliable than other 3rd party apps

Not helpful to me at all. It's saying that the two chargers at my complex are being repaired, but they were actually replaced awhile ago. Get with the program!
Needs work
Decent app for its listing of charging stations but sorely needs user interface improvement. Rating and charger identification not intuitive and sometimes just straight useless. Route planning section is however, really poor. Comes up with route suggestions but to compare you have to accept on and if it proves bad, there’s no ability to go back and choose another. You have to re-enter from scratch. It’s also poor in visibility and no ability to quickly see the charger capacity. So while it’s decent for its charger listing, it’s then nit useful and you have to switch to Google Maps etc to plan a route.

Unreliable / not worth downloading
Not sure why all these ev vehicles have this app incuded in their library as a tool to help you locate EV chargers in your area. It’s useless, missing about 75% of EV stations that are actually on the map, doesn’t include important details for example if a charging station is accessible or not. Most of the stations it has on the map are located in private apartment complexes and resident only parking garages. It’s very obvious that the creator of PlugShare has some type of partnership with Chargepoint because of all the Chargepoint stations it has on their map. This app relies on user inputted data and not real facts, doesn’t verify if a location someone shared is actual and if the location checks out. So if you’re in a bind and are looking for charging stations in your area because you’re running low or you’re trying to save a buck and want to find affordable or free EV charging stations near you , save yourself the heartache and stress driving in circles and download yourself an app that actually functions the way PlugShare claims it does. This goes for all EV charging customers that don’t use NACS .. because Tesla started this EV charging frenzy, therefore the seamless variety of accurate Tesla charging station locators isn’t much of an issue not like non Tesla EV drivers have to deal with.
In time this network will grow and get better

Can’t seem to check in or submit any feedback about locations, at all. Keep getting “network error” when I hit submit. Not really helpful.

This is by far the best app for finding chargers that I found. Even among the brand specific apps, this one still has head and shoulders about the rest.
