Great product BUT
When setting your home destination why is there NO home button ? There is a work button but no home instead you have to go under saved searched and pick your address
Absolutely useless, cannot add vehicle
Can’t plan a route without a vehicle, and app fails to add vehicles. Completely worthless. Used anyway and it routed me to a level 2 charger it mislabeled as level 3. Negative a million stars.
App ist okay...
Ich habe mir die App (Premium) für den Sommerurlaub heruntergeladen. Bis jetzt bin ich zufrieden, aber es sind unbedingt Verbesserungen bei den Verkehrsdaten nötig. Die App hat mich bisher viermal in eine Straßensperre geführt, was sehr ärgerlich war! Ansonsten ist es etwas ärgerlich, dass die Live Daten vom Fahrzeug nur unregelmäßig übertragen werden, was wohl auch an Kia selbst liegt. Alles in allem ist die App aber okay. Ich werde sie auch weiterhin nutzen und hoffe, dass es bei den Updates Verbesserungen geben wird!!!
Terrible
If I try to change anything, the display constantly flickers and is unusable. No integration with Contacts Trying to enter a destination is not intuitive.
poor navigation and UI
i paid for the premium features and regret doing so. while the charger location and charge level-planning part of the app are pretty good, the navigation component of this app is terrible. guidance features are 15 years behind any other navigation app (apple or google maps, waze, whatever). besides what other reviewers have said about the navigation problems, I want the display to clarify lane choice when it’s necessary, and I think there should be a way to set the map at a preferred zoom level — but every time I zoom in or out, a few seconds later the display always jumps back to whatever it wants. not sure if that’s a big or WAD. Generally, not many user configurable settings, and the ones they _do_ have aren’t easy to use. also, the displayed information is confusing. Took me a while to figure out an ETA/miles-left indicator actually referred to the next planned stop, not the entire trip. I can understand why they chose to display that information instead of the ‘whole-trip’ version, but why not provide a label? I tried giving them feedback on their site, but that failed too! (“submit” button was unresponsive)
Works Great
I used it with a Bluetooth OBD2 for a long unplanned trip to Pittsburgh to drop off my daughter after spring break when all the flights where canceled coming from O’Hare. Even with the range down because of the cold and high highway speeds only needed to stop 3 times. Routed me to my preferred charger Electrify American. I used it with my KIA EV6.
App Freezes
Completely useless. The app freezes when I try to select a vehicle.
Great for planning, not so much for navigating.
The good: This app has taken ALLOT of anxiety out of making trips in our EV. The bad: Even with solid cell service, it frequently gets behind or looses where it is all together. The blue guidance line often goes missing at complex intersections (!!) and the speed limit indicator routinely fails to up date, with 70mph displayed though 30mph city zones. We’ve had to pull over numerous times to confirm our route in Google Maps.
A Worse Routeplanner (AWRP)
Use PlugShare instead! ABRP has really gone down the toilet the past few years. Can’t use ABRP w Android Auto or Apple CarPlay unless you have a premium subscription (Good luck figuring THAT out; the interface is so obtuse that you can’t GIVE them your money). PlugShare works beautifully with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for FREE. ABRP keeps inexplicably disconnecting navigation while you’re driving without even notifying you (surefire way to get yourself stranded w a dead battery). PlugShare never disconnects. ABRP’s interface is a nonsensical mess; whereas, PlugShare’s is pleasantly intuitive. Enough said.
Great, but not.
There is a lot to like about this app, but it’s not quite good enough to replace Apple or Google Maps, so I need to plan my routes with it, and then switch back to Apple. My biggest issue is that if you put in multiple stops (sometimes just to force a different route) and you do not drive exactly to those stops, it will continue to try and route you to those stops, with no (cancel stop) prompt. You need to stop your car and replan a route. It is also slow to identify traffic problems or road issues. I once drove 15 km down a road to find the bridge was out. Google and Apple would have known about this. It does work nicely in CarPlay, and it does talk to my OBD dongle, so I hope it will improve in future.

Ich finde die App sehr gut und nutze sie schon lange. Seit kurzem wird nach längerer App Nutzung über CarPlay die aktuelle Position nicht mehr angezeigt. Sie fängt dann an nur gelegentlich sprunghaft den aktuellen Ort anzuzeigen. Ich hoffe das der Fehler in der nächsten Version gefixt wird.
Does not filter out unreliable stations
We were stuck plugging into level two chargers down US Highway 50 through Nevada, because the app routed us to unreliable chargers.
Major bugs introduced with this version—please fix!
Normally a 5 star app in my opinion, but with the latest version it will not remember my vehicle regardless of which way I add it—including by manually inputting vehicle details while planning a route. This makes it unable to plan a route right now and thus useless. Please fix!
A must have
We just completed our first extended trip in our EV. I’d like to share some tips for other EV owners. You give it your source, destination, and any stop you want and it determines the best route. You pre-define it with your car (model), starting charge, desired arrival charge level, your favorite charger brands (think gas stations), etc. It figures out your best route to get where you are going. I also select a bathroom nearby and also a food stop if possible. I always start with a 100% charge and like to arrive about a 40% charge. ABRP then calculates you stop here for 13 minutes, there for 22 minutes, another one there for 17 minutes and you end up at your location with 43% charge remaining. However, I don’t like ABRP’s actual route guidance. It is to (voice) chatty for me while driving. But each stop has an address so I put that address into Apple Maps (Google Maps, Waze, whatever) and Maps is more knowledgable about traffic delays, best routes, etc. Same destination (kind of - more in a minute) and for me less voice chatty. Same destination, not really. Maps gets you to the address. However I’m sometimes dropped off at the street address, not the final maze in the parking lot to the front of the store. But even that isn’t good enough. This is where ABRP comes back to life. ABRP’s destination is the lat/long of the actual charging station which is usually in some far corner of the parking lot. No looking around to find it at the mall. ABRP is free but you can get a paid version. I paid for 1 month while I took this trip. It gives you additional features but honestly I don’t think I needed or used any of them. I do want to support the developer so I’ll see what future trips require. One thing I (we) would like is the ability to say something like find me a DQ (Dairy Queen) along the route as well. That feature doesn’t exist on either ABRP or Maps that I know of yet. So we sill watch for DQ signs and venture off the route on our own at times. You also still need the charging stations app to use and pay for the electricity. I probably have a dozen now. Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVgo, Tesla (no I don’t have a Tesla but I have a Tesla charger adapter), Shell, Blink, etc. A couple of stations supposedly will simply take a credit card, but I found the app more reliable than a simple credit card.
Worse than useless
I’ve only been using this app to see where the chargers are and then I use Google Maps to get to it. But this time I used it to find *and* navigate to chargers in the Salthill area, and….we’re 0/3. No EV chargers at the last two places where the app said they were, and then for the third one, the app tried to navigate me up a closed footpath. A waste of time. Maybe work on the basics before getting battery efficiency precision right? I can see the numbers on my own dash just fine.
From East coast to west Coast - better than Goggle Maps
Ok, so I am first time new-ish EV owner ( Hyundai Ioniq 5 2026) I planned a SOLO road trip driving from Virginia - to Maine- to Canada- Midwest - Pacific North West and Southenr California. This was in a span of 12 days. Here’s my take: 1. A+: great for planning g - I love how it plots all the fast chargers for me 2. B+: the prediction of how much you need to charge to is not as reliable. I always overcharge because based on my driving and the current weather conditions , it sometimes drains the battery faster. So even if it says , charge only up to 75 percent, I would go up to 90. Recommendation : I wish the accuracy would be better specially after learning my driving habits , live weather ,live traffic etc.
Self inflicted wounds
Recent updates have made the app more buggy. GPS lags and sputters. Display color scheme decided to do its own thing. Nav voice unmuted itself.
SoC indication while navigating is always off/incorrect
The app works wonderfully but when I set the state of charge of my car before starting the navigation, when the navigation starts the state of charge indicated is always off. For example my car is charged to 50% and when I start the navigation it will say it’s only at 31% for seemingly no reason.

Buggy
Tried to used multiple times and the app is flipping out. Entered an address and the app won't resolve. Open a saved route and the app freezes in a flicker. Saw some good reviews but seems to have some issues.
Fast perfekt
Habe zwar in den Einstellungen hinterlegt, dass ich am Ziel mit mindestens 20% Akku ankommen möchte. Wenn ich jedoch eine Kurzstrecke fahre und nicht extra laden möchte, sollte man die Vorgabe zum Laden überspringen können.
It used to be better
I don’t know what happened recently to this app but it used to be great. Now it seems to have gone downhill in the past year with really flaky ux. Screens freeze, there are frequent hangs when I look up alternate routes, and it just ignores route selections at times. The ux has also become pretty unintuitive. Like when I try to select next charger, it keeps selecting the same charger. Then I have to cancel my route, mark the charger as do not use, then I have to re plan after removing my previous stops. I also can’t connect premium features like Enode
Hard to make changes to route
Even with the paid subscription changing chargers requires replanning a route completely. Very difficult to navigate the app, Ford routing works better and with couple of clicks a charger can be replaced on a route. Not a bad app but not worth the price of use.

The idea of the app is great, but it doesn’t actually allow you to plane a route. I’m sure it’s just an app issue at the moment. But if this is how it works the first time installing.. then Thanks but No thanks.
Excellent Ev planning but lack of traffic avoidance codes
The app will be excellent to plan drives but lack of essential traffic avoidance requirements for adequate guidance. Even with full subscription the app fall short
Disappointed to say the least
Certainly, some of the issue has to do with my vehicle, not connecting directly with the app. I found that manually updating the state of charge mid route was incredibly difficult in CarPlay. Manually rerouting to an alternate charger in CarPlay was impossible. I usually just cancelled, and recalculated. The worst part is missing Tesla superchargers that are on Google Maps.
Excellent mais manque info traffic
J’utilise un dongle pour la connexion en temps réel avec ma batterie. La planification d’itinéraire est excellente pour l’autonomie de batterie et la recherche de chargeurs. Mais il manque toutes les infos de traffic et de conditions de la route (accidents, signalements…). Je dois donc utiliser une autre app en parallèle pour recevoir les signalements et optimiser mon itinéraire. Dommage, ABRP serait PARFAITE avec ces infos.

The big picture Other routers give either the nearby or choose the long distance best case according to preselected criteria that may not apply to time of day, meals. Toilet or driver fatigue. This one does! Near and far along the route. Three cheers. Five stars.

Current location and battery level are correct… So I input a destination address, hit enter and nothing happened.
Useful app
Helps with long road trips and multi stop planning for estimating battery usage. When linked with live data for Tesla, it prevents the car from sleeping and increases vampire drain. Lost 5% overnight and I don’t have a home charger.
Disappointed
I was excited to use this app for my first road trip. I carefully set everything up, including my preferred and ❤️ chargers, as well as those I wanted to avoid. It worked okay for some of the trip, but it seemed to ignore my preferences mostly. And it took us way off the beaten path where there was no cell service, which made me nervous. Some sketchy rural areas. And the speed limit shown on the app was almost always wrong. My biggest gripe was that it took me to a charger that doesn’t seem to exist (it had a 1 start rating). Why would you take me there?
Kinda janky still
There’s a lot to like here but ABRP definitely makes a few promises it can’t keep. It needs to be more stable. The UI and user flow needs some refinement (make it easier to tell the app your current battery state when planning, making changes, etc.). The filters and preferences for things like “dog friendly” locations don’t seem reliable or well integrated. Sometimes the app becomes unresponsive and/or super laggy in car play. Even just using the quick action for nearby chargers often used very stale location data, sometimes resulting in directions that involved a U-turn back in the wrong direction. Overall, I was a little disappointed with the in-car experience on my recent road trip. It’s definitely a big challenge to make an app like this without a direct connection to the car’s real time data but there are still ways to make it work a little better. Looking forward to seeing ABRP evolve over time.

Impossible to use iPhone
Whenever clicking on any charge station on map or on route, the app screen flickers rapidly and relentlessly. The web version certainly doesn’t do this. Also the app will not accept any address (city, state or full street address) for route planning. Literally nothing happens when you enter an address.
Suggestion for extra functionality in your app
I love you app as close to what i was looking for in routing map. It would be really nice to see hotel highlighted with chargers in your app as you go on long trip with stops. Would be fantastic
Used to be awesome, not so much anymore.
I used to use this app all the time to plan trips, and while it was a little quirky, it was always extremely helpful to plan trips and charges in a Tesla. Not so much anymore. I can’t now set my initial SOC (at least not simply, I haven’t found out how to do it at all so far. It used to be so simple), and my paths seem to need to route back to where I started from giving me really weird driving times. It might be “a better route”, but it is certainly not a “planner” anymore. Maybe you should change the name to just ABR.
Some great features, but lots of missing charging stations
I want to love this app, but very frustrating that it is missing a ton of Tesla Superchargers that I have used for years. The mechanism to report these is really poorly designed and I am not sure anything will be done about it. Still on my free trial, not sure if it is worth the cost given it misses so many chargers.

Planning is very accurate, features are super convenient, makes road trips so much easier. Definitely worth paying for.
Unable to search for a destination
Basic premise of a route planning app should be the ability to search for a destination. Unfortunately for this one, with all filters cleared it is unable to show any destinations. Awful
Accurate
This is a great app. Very accurate. One thing to improve is to measure wind in kilometres per hour (or miles) instead of metres per second. Then it would be 5 stars.
Doesn’t allow prospecting for chargers
Although this app does a pretty good job of plotting routes it fails miserably at displaying a general map showing chargers. I am much prefer charge hub and PlugShare for locating places to charge. I wish Rivian had adopted a better mapping system than this one.
Great, does everything you need it to for driving an EV.. however
If you want all the bells and whistles that this app could give you, you need to pay annually or monthly. But some people may not be driving long distances every week or month, so my problem is that. I wish there was an option for people that don’t drive far that frequently, but could still maintain a premium subscription and benefit from the app.

Buggy, no support
Can't log in with existing password, can't reset it because reset e-mail never arrives, support plays dead. Complete junk. Want my $5 back.
Good, not Great
Pro’s: - Tons of flexibility to customize trips. Literally anything I could think of is possible when it comes to route planning - Free version has a lot of capability Cons: - UI could use a refresh (Widgets, Main page) - A bit clunky (App doesn’t always update location of car, widget takes a while to refresh) Good news is the cons are easily fixed with future software updates. 100% worth the install if you have an EV.
Charger / local info is wrong
Recently attempted plan a trip from Las Vegas to Bishop, CA. The charger data was wrong in multiple instances and the route suggested was nonsense. It wanted to send us through Barstow, which is 100 miles out of the way. The location of the supercharger in Bishop is wrong, off by a couple miles. The location of the Best Western hotel in Bishop is off by a mile. Pretty worthless if you can’t trust the data.
