I have been watching different ABC 7 channels around the country and I think they are the best news programs.I started watching New York during the storm in February and that was the best reporting from the field and the anchors.Thanks for a great job everybody.
Divisive poor research
See title Wow an article written before the event has taken place. First 2 paragraphs are maybe after the article took place. The rest very obviously was prior and just contained speculation. The rebuttal article was also written prior and contained little of what actually took place. This is fair news? I like to actually hear all sides of news and this app doesn’t do that Headlines do not match the articles nor does the time it was written actually reflect that And why is there a video out audio clip playing an ad but nothing shows what it is to make it stop. They complain in their articles about people doing things that are legal. So do they want lawbreakers only? Someone to celebrate?
Ipad mini vs IPhone 5
Great app, especially because i live in Europe. Unfortunately, the app doesn't function on my Ipad mini. On my IPhone 5 iT works very well. Please update.

Push notifications no longer take you to the promoted story, just the generic live page.
Disability Issues
Channel 7 on the App, cable and regularly does not allow SAP (Second Audio Program) on WABC shows. We can get it on Hulu, but it’s not fair for those of us who have disabilities to go searching for the same show that’s being shown on WABC regularly. The SAP is available, so why is it not accessible on the reruns? Have some consideration for your customers with disabilities.
Channel interference
I love watching ABC morning, noon and night unfortunately lately your station does not come in clear. It is the only one that I have a problem getting into in the morning. It gets better during the day and then sometimes late at night. Picture not clear sound not clear. It’s very aggravating. What is going on with ABC
No screen recording
I like to screen record some segments and upload them on YouTube but it doesn’t anymore which is disappointing upload the news on YouTube or something or archival purposes so disappointing 😔
Double Audio Feed and Playback Issues
As of these last few months ever since the loop and autoplay of livestream and the coincidence of the new iOS 26 updates, the app has been plagued with this double audio autoplay bug. This especially is an issue when I try to watch video clips from the Eyewitness News stories of the day. For example, If want to see the latest AccuWeather forecast video; the forecast video would start, but as it is playing, suddenly the live video stream's audio would overlay and play over the present AccuWeather video i'm watching making the app not useable. Sometimes the audio of several videos playback at once. This is very disruptive and there seems to be obvious way to fix to stop the autoplay of the audio from the multiple videos. I believe this an autoplay bug, if possible is there a way to disable that? Otherwise the app is fantastic, the other cities seem to be unaffected, KABC's app does not have this issue. Seems to be with WABC only.
Livestream Playback error back again following update
Been a long time user of this app and other abc city news apps, especially when frequently traveling. Long time ago all the local news apps would not play the live video but an update fixed the issue. Recently the apps, including this one, LA and other cities were all updated and the playback error has returned. There is also the following number -1002 in the lower left of the window. Not sure if this number means anything. On Demand videos do still work. Hope another update will fix this error and get all the apps back to their great functioning so watchers can watch local live newscasts, especially during emergencies when family members now living away are involved. Thanks.

Can’t watch the NY lottery drawing anymore, also when I used to attempt to watch the weather forecast another video would play simultaneously.
Great news app but needs work
The application is great and the stream is perfect minus the audio is not synced to the video is always a tad bit off which makes it a bit odd to watch. This is actual an issue with the Roku live tv and the Roku app as well so it may be an actual technical issue on the distribution side.

ABC 7 news its the most accurate new in NYC. It is delivered professionally and accurately by a group of great tV Journalists who also have great sense humor.

Dysfunctional app that fail’s constantly
This so called news app appears more interested i dropping annoying apps which can only be shut off by deleting the app. Don’t know what secret data is being uploaded or what possibly dangerous activity is being downloaded by ABC Don’t understand why Disney has become so abusive and vicious towards their potential customers with their discriminatory so called news app.

This app would be good if it actually had news around me!! lower NY is not the only part of the state, if you have ever heard of it, it’s called upper NY or Albany the actual capital of the state. Why isn’t that an option??

Sloppy journalism
This app is very weak. The stories are not proofread. Additionally, the stories aren’t updated very frequently. For example, it still had a story of where to see 4th of July fireworks on July 22. It seems to get worse as time goes by.

Describing suspects
Is there a reason why you reports never put the suspects color of their skin in the broadcast. Eyewitnesses give details about height weight exact color of clothing and clothing types and see them at close range but you won’t put in the report if it’s a white , black Asian or Hispanic or other in the broadcast. Is it not beneficial and not part of your job to give complete details or is it politically incorrect!

Slow loading. Also, the CC text does not match the speech. It is also slow just just like the app. Had to delete because some stories are not featured in the app.

Nice to watch the local news on the go but be prepared to watch the same Disney commercials on a constant loop during breaks to the point of going insane.

Sound too glitchy- Lee Goldberg annoys me when he keeps saying “soaking” he says it way too much
Clicking sounds throughout interviews. Annoying .When it comes to Lee Goldberg with the weather why must he say soaking 3 to 4 times on every rainy forecast . I never heard of someone repeat a word like that doesn’t he get told to knock it off. Super irritating
Broke the app
Latest update seems to have broken the app when using Picture in Picture. The ads always stop at the end, and the play button just replays the ad but the news never comes back on at the end. I get that this update was to get rid of the no ads work around but come on…
Constantly crashes
Update: the app isn’t opening at all. Somethings wrong. I love being able to read the news wherever I am but the app is always crashing when I watch the videos.

After 50 years of watching from the dinner table every night, you are no longer invited to my house. ABC7 NY is a trash “news” organization. Once regarded as a great icon of the industry, you are worth nothing more than comic book fodder. No class outfit. Scum.
Just make it worse & worse
Stop making your app so bad!!! The last update is just awful, fonts are huge, everything just looks out of place. Horrible to scroll thru. Please fire your app designer and interface designer. Seriously !!!

I trust and respect the staff. Many years ago I met Michelle Charlesworth at North Shore Hospital. I forgot the topic of the story she worked on but she was very pleasant and polite.
WORST APP EVER!
I get alerts all day and when I click them on to read the story, it NEVER brings me to the story! And don’t bother with the weather, radar never works either. Not sure whose running things.

Ever since apple iOS 17.x came out. This app no longer works on 16.9

This app is awful
I get notifications on stories or events, select to open to see the story, and every time the thing I got a notification for is nowhere to be found. The notification opens the app to its homepage and no sign of what I wanted to read about. Not under the My News tab either. Every freaking time.
Latest update has bugs
I downloaded the latest update a couple of days ago, and ever since then this normally great app has trouble loading content, and issue frequent error messages. One reads: "An error has occurred. The operation couldn't be completed. (Cocoa error 1560.)" Hope you can sort this out real soon.
