This app is goated!
This app is a one time payment for a lifetime of being able to listen to real ATC calls as they happens. I am studying for my PPL and this ha gone a long way prepping for ATC calls. Wish I could support the dev more.
Not in Indianapolis
I just paid to install this app and then it shows all Indianapolis feeds are down. How do I get a refund?

It’s OK when it works
Channels are down too often and stay down too long. Don’t waste your money on this app. There are better options out there.
Feed quantities
Even though this is a free app, I feel we should have better audio quality from the major airports. I think JFK LaGuardia Newark have excellent audio and sees, but I live in the Bay Area in SFO. Tower quality is poor. Is there someway that can be improved as a major airport in LAX sounds better than SFO what’s going on here in the Bay Area.

Used to be a great app. Now it has bugs. Doesn’t play when locked. So I downloaded a different one.
Great App - Easier than Web
Much easier than trying to navigate the web interface on a phone. Well worth the $5. One request — add the actual frequency number to the channels list. When trying to follow your flight across handoffs, it would help to see the actual frequency be able to quickly find the next channel, since that’s how ATC refers to them.
SUPER Unreliable
2026 Update: Besides the expected inconsistent quality of volunteer-provided streams (mostly bad), the LiveATC servers themselves can’t seem to provide a consistent connection. Constant drops and buffering delays and disconnections. Funny enough the app seems to work slightly better than the website now, but overall I wouldn’t recommend anyone spending actual money on this service. Original review (2022): I much prefer the website to the app. First, on the website it clearly lists the frequency alongside the description. On the app it will just provide the name (i.e. KSEA Ground) without a frequency. To find the freq you have to select the channel and then select “view frequency.” There is ample room on all pages to show freqs, requiring extra click-throughs is just bad UI. Second, there is SIGNIFICANT delay on the app vs. the website. The website is typically within a few seconds of real-time, whereas the app takes a very long time to load a channel and consistently has delays of 30 seconds or more. If you’re listening to ATC in conjunction with plane spotting, such a delay makes the app practically unusable. I’m still a huge LiveATC supporter and the website is still an excellent resource, unfortunately this app is poorly built with too much lag to be useful.

Not worth the pay for app
I’ve been using the app ATC which is phenomenal, but it didn’t have one small airport I was flying to (Cleveland Hopkins) and saw that liveatc provides coverage however the quality and speed is absolutely horrible compared to ATC app which provides a very user friendly interface with captions and live flight points on map. I’d highly not recommend buying this app for anyone

Been using this app for years now It’s a good app sometimes it does have a little problems connecting to the local tower, but other than that can’t really complain

I paid the $4.99 plus tax and have changed from one channel to another at Major airports that I know stay busy and surely have plenty of radio traffic in the towers. So far after 20 minutes I cannot hear one word. The app buffers over and over with no transmissions. Thumbs down.

It’s really sad that this app essentially has a monopoly on what it does because it’s really poorly designed. Awful UI. Audio frequently loops. Really annoying to find a channel based on the frequency.
Redone station for developers
Love the app but can you please add the frequency next to the description? Example: “Tower RWY 13L 121.9”
Delayed audio
LiveATC is a great service, but the app itself seems very underdeveloped. It does have some cool things like the ability to mix audio on top of other audio sources, although I wish it would attenuate or mute other audio sources whenever the radio stream goes active so you can actually tell what they’re saying. The biggest dealbreaker though is the large delay compared to the website

Love the app. But…
I love the app. But, every so often, the live audio stream play’s back even when there is no clear indication that the app is running. My app os running on an iPhone 12+ and running iOS 26.1. Has anyone else reported such an issue?

Love this app but…
I have used this app for many years and it’s the best by far. I live in the UK and I know this app cannot stream UK frequencies because it is against the Law to listen to Airband here but I listen to USA ATC. However, you would think with tech these days, that we could have transmissions without computer bleedover. You have band pass 1090Mhz filters for the ADS-B. So why not filters for the Airband wavelength? Listening to KMCO with its near continuous computer bleedover is a nuicance. I totally appreciate that whilst this isn’t an app issue, it is a feeder issue. I just wish they can sort it out, or find a feeder who can block out the computer interference.

It’s not possible to quickly toggle between frequencies at the same airport - instead you have to go back to start and search for the airport again, then choose the new frequency. When trying to use on onboard WiFi it’s painfully annoying

Disappointed - app offers much less than the free website
First, the UX is one of the worst I’ve seen so far. Favorites are almost useless, looking for a station is not a great experience and above all, there is no archive available. I should not have paid for the app… disappointed:(
streams go down a lot
it has potential, i recommend checking the liveatc site first. if the stream you want goes down there a lot, it’ll continue in the app. I thought it would auto reconnect but looks like it doesn’t.

Disappointing audio quality, hit and miss communications. Not what I expected.
Great app needs some ease of use tho
Great app would like to see more options in terms of the being able to see a list of the most live listeners by airport or airfields also being able to go a step father and be able to pick filter an airspace to only see maybe class D, C, or B etc.

For a free app, this is really great. Very handy. I can listen to the tower and pilots while watching a plane land on another app. When the aircraft switch frequencies I can use the search function to find the right feed. Perfect.
DOES NOT STREAM FEEDS
I suspect the app may no longer be maintained or supported. It’s nicely featured and layed out, it just does not deliver the feeds. Worse, it stopped my device’s ability to stream ANY video from any source such as Prime, Hulu, etc. That’s pretty serious. Had to uninstall. I read the critical reviews and gambled five bucks on this anyway. Duh! Lost my money. Next time I’m heeding the warnings.

Loving this app works great with Flightradar24. you can have them both on at once and flow the plane right into the airport and on the ground. It’s crystal clear no need to squelch. Quick between frequency. It’s just a shame England,Wales and Scotland are not available. So it’s back to the CB radio for them.

I love it a lot and I’m glad I bought it but I only enjoy the Jfk tower one if there was a London Heathrow LHR or Gatwick or any UK airports it would make it so much more Fun I would rate it 5 stars and use it everyday
