So much delightful fun for an aviation nerd
I thought this was going to be like web based listening where you have to know which channel to listen to and maybe hear your flight. It’s so, so much more. You can see coms to and from your flight like they were a text message thread, the app automagically switches channels when your flight is instructed to do so, and it even transcribes NATO phonetic names to letters!
Can’t use unless you pay
Saw this app on TikTok and decided to try it out since I have an upcoming flight. You literally cannot use this app unless you do the “free trial, pay after a week” scheme. Like brother….let me try the app first before entering any type of card information. But nope. Will not let you pass go unless you put in a financial card. Wack af.
5 stars but for the price
It’s the best ATC app out there. I know you get what you pay for, but 80 bucks a year is way too much. For 40 I’m there. 80….nope, sorry. Plus is it a MASSIVE battery hog
Cool app at high cost
The app is cool for basic ATC listing and fun viewing, however a $5 a week subscription is not cool and didn’t have my local airport. Attempted to do a free trial and was immediately charged, so I cancelled. I will go back to other means for listening to ATC.
Can’t pay that much
App looks amazing but I didn’t realize how expensive it was. I wish there was a free version as I only wanted to do this for fun. Hard to justify since this isn’t my job by any means.

Education
I understand wishing there was a free version, but for less than $2/wk I’d say the subscription appears well worth it. When you first sign up it prompts questions about education level and interests which gave me a false impression of some sort of education segment involved in using the app, but there doesn’t appear to be one at the moment. I feel like most of the content is self explanatory but I’m not going to “master atc”, as it suggested just by listening to audio clips. It’s really not a huge issue and the concept for this app is great regardless. Maybe a glossary or something similar would suffice.

I was in John F. Kennedy International Airport yesterday and there was a tornado warning so I knew which planes were taking off and not taking off so without this app I could’ve been cooked. Thank you so much.
Free trial is a scam
I signed up for ATC with a seven day free trial. In less than 24 hours after using the app, I canceled the free trial because the app did not cover the airports. I was most interested in listening to. After seven days, I was billed $5.99 even though my Apple account clearly showed that the app was canceled and inactive. Apple refused to refund the payment simply stating that it did not qualify for a refund and gave no further details after appeal to Apple. They still refused to refund the payment again with no justification other than it did not qualify. The free trial is a total scam!

I would give this 5 stars if there was no in app purchase but I understand people have to make money but other than that it’s an amazing app

We are all struggling so hard. You know that old song from the 20s that goes “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer”? The wealth gap is so so so so much bigger now. Judging by the amount of advertising and high reviews you have, yall have a large customer base, so you’re not struggling to pay for the app to run. Only allowing a free trial if you pre-commit to the YEARLY option is greedy on yalls part. You not only know, but rely on the fact that people forget to cancel their subscription. Especially those who are busy working to afford to eat. $90 isn’t a small amount of money for us. It would be so nice to have quick and easy access to listening to ATC, but not for the cost of a days worth of food per week. I want yall to genuinely think about the people. Give us some sort of free option to even OPEN THE APP, or at the least allow the free trial on both payment plans. You’d be just fine. The price as-is is insane. Be better. For the people. Look inside and find your empathy.

thr is a website called liveatc.net which gives u the exact same thing js without the app interface. if ur in the uk it’s completely useless as u cnt listen to ur flights in the uk. if u want notifications about atc then thts the only use

Hate apps like this
Advertise it and it sounded like it would be cool. Downloaded it. And then nothing. Can’t even listen without signing up with a free trial. Don’t want to sign up for any trials. Just wanted to listen and see how it is but this app is worthless without signing up.
Need more airports!
This is truly such a great app!! But not having OKC on it doesn’t really justify a subscription. You have added much smaller airports, so hopefully I’ll be a subscriber beyond the free trial in the future!
Not actually a live ATC app.
I am actively sitting in a delayed aircraft at the gate in DFW. Activating explore mode and zooming into my gate shows no aircraft is even present. There is no ability to search for a flight number either. It seems this app is for if you like to listen to just random ATC chatter. I don’t see the point of this.

Can u plz make it free please. I got the app to realize that it cost money. it would be amazing if it wasn’t because all I really wanted it for is for when I’m on the plane or at the airport cause I get bad anxiety on planes when we’re landing and taking off and I would love to hear it. So please consider it making it free. Thank you!

No freeware option
ATC feeds are freely available online. Why would I pay a stiff ongoing subscription when I can get it elsewhere for free?
Good app but not a fan of the paywall
In my free week, I had a great experience with the UI and the app itself. However I’m a little disappointed that there are little free tiers to help people get used to the app. Ended up leaving the app after trial was up.
Requires purchase
It requires you to start the free trial to use any aspect of it. Not free. I’m also not even able to read their terms of service, so idk if that’s a malfunction or intentional obstruction.
Good value. Could be improved
Nice app for listening to major airport ATC and tracking planes. I use it during travel almost weekly. Suggestions for improvements: 1. iPad native version. Doesn’t exist and is a major gap 2. App seems to drain iPhone battery quickly. iPhone 15 pro max with iOS 26.5.2 3. Low data mode to use in flight with infrequent gui updates, while maintaining audio. 4. Ability to lock into a flight and not accidentally tap away from it. Would be useful for use while flying. Definitely the best ATC app, but the subscription cost is as much as Flighty, and Flighty provides greater value. Looking forward to future improvements.

I cannot stand apps like this. They make convincing advertisements on social media then immediately require payment to even open the app. No free or demo option. And only a 3 day trial? So frustrating

While I downloaded this app and thought it would be a good one, and it probably is, I won’t subscribe until a lot more airports are added. Orlando is missing along with a ton of other airports I frequently fly into. I’ll stick with the free apps until this one comes along further.

It’s a okay app
This is a good app for people who wanting to become a ATC member or just being a Aviation Geek, but for normal people it’s ok. I want to see more Airports added like some of them in the UK like London Heathrow or Edinburgh AirPort or Manchester just see more European airports too.
Crazy prices!
App has incredible potential however you are forced into a paywall straight after downloading (7 day trial) then £6 a WEEK (which is £313/Year). or £90 for a YEARLY subscription. ATC is all American based due to UK laws. A few quid a month would be fair with tiered prices allowing access to other features (similar to FR24).
Great App priced out of contention
This app is one of the cleanest apps for aviation nerds or frequent travelers. However at $90 a year it’s a bit too expensive for what it is. They also only allow a weekly at a crazy $6, instead of monthly. While I’d love to use this app more, YouTube or X will get these same flight events, even if they aren’t as nice of an experience as this.

Great design (at least in the first 30 seconds)
Forced paywall from the start. Couldn’t actually try the app without being forced to accept a free trial. Can’t give any higher or an actual review as I cannot stress that you cannot access anything on the app without joining the trial.

Said it would be free, 100$ a year. Been waiting ages and being told it’ll be free just for it to not be free. Seems like a really good app if you have the money for it!
