App
Very nice and reliable app. Easy to use
App broken
This app used to work without issue but recently I got an error when logging in saying there was a problem with the app, use the website. I uninstalled the app, reinstalled and now the app doesn’t recognise my details. Will now uninstall
Am in an endless update loop!
Open App, it says need an update so click the link to AppStore. Appstore doesn't show an update just the 'open' button so i click it to open and get message that app needs an update!! Deleted and reinstalled but same thing happens. Help! UPDATE! A call to Coventry was answered very quickly. They reset my registration and I was back in. Thanks
Awful app
Seems everytime I want to log in I have to update the app. Also can’t transfer money as none of my previous recipients show unless I log in to desktop version
Used to be good but
Have had the app over a year and worked well. But when I got a new phone after old one got damaged I had to phone CBS to have my old phone deleted as I can’t have two phones on APP. Worked fine after but now keep getting same messages when I log in saying I have to delete old phone although I’m using same phone so have given up and will use CBS web site.

Won’t open
I keep getting an error ‘oops something went wrong - try again later’ But it has said this for weeks
Problem with app but fixed in a timely manner
App stuck in a loop, was fixed and helpful response.
So basic
The app works, but from a mortgage function you can’t really do anything other than look at the balance. You can’t even check annual statements, amend payment amounts, check overpayment status etc. it’s a bit pointless really.
New version doesn’t work on iPhone 17 pro.
Previous bug fixes have worked. The app works well now
Doom loop!
I too logged onto the app, was advised an update is required, which I have done, and it is doing the same as another user has commented; taking me back to the update button and not allowing access to the app. Very frustrating!!!
App update
App has asked me to update which I have done but still asks me to update when I try to open it? Otherwise it has been working well.

I went to open my app and it requested an update Went on the Apple Store and updated it but when re-opening the app it still states it needs to be updated? So I’m unable to access my accounts

We went into the Northampton branch today and Priyanka was so very helpful. She helped us quickly efficiently and with patience. A very pleasant lady. A credit to the Coventry Building Society.
Not rectified
Despite all the reviews telling you the app update stuck in a loop has been rectified- it hasn’t. What a poor show this app is from CBS

Not happy
Tried to change my device and therefore had to move to new version which keeps throwing me out. Don’t think this has been tested out properly.
App won’t update
The app told me to update, which I did and the App Store button changed from ‘Update’ to ‘Open’ but it still says it needs to be updated. I deleted the app and all data, restarted the iPad, reinstalled and still the app insists it needs an update.
Works fine
Does what I need, it’s not a high street bank so my expectations are met, and it allows for day to day management on my accounts.
Don’t even go there
I was removed from the app because they claimed I was using the wrong password. I had to reregister which took 2 hours and 3 phone calls. I had to photo my driving licence and send a selfie. The whole procedure was ludicrous and I still can’t login and have to withdraw money by phone using voice recognition.No other bank or BS is this complicated. I think they have been sold a dud package.
Can’t log in
Just did update to V3.32 now can’t login just keep getting a message to update which I did and it caused the issue
Useless with VPN
Numerous opps messages when VPN switched on - works when switched off - sorry CBS app developers it really doesn’t work with VPNs !!!
Locked out
I have been using the app for a while with no real problems, but today 27 Aug 2026 I tried to use the app as usual on iPhone 13 iOS 26.6.1 but got a popup saying a new version was available, and I needed to update in order to continue. So I updated through the App Store, when completed I selected OPEN then got exactly the same message, new version needed in order to continue. So, back to the App Store, I already have the latest version. Tried restarting the phone, opened the app, just the same popup telling me to update in order to continue. So I’m now stuck, can’t get past the popup, there is no later version, and I can’t make the transaction which is needed fairly urgently. Not good enough!
Appalling App
While the old app generally worked and was basic in function, the latest update has caused it to crash and no longer recognises accounts. For a large Building Society this simply isn’t acceptable.
Unable to update App
Invited to update CBS App but unable to do so and therefore prevented from logging into my banking via the App. Turned iPhone on and off has made no difference and also tried updating from App Store with no affect?
Stopped working
Earlier today the app started saying I needed to update. There was no update in the App Store. Now another update arrived but when I log in it says it is registered to another device. I don’t have another device, it was on this one. I click I don’t have other device it says ring us. I ring and it says we are closed. As much use as a chocolate teapot
Useless
App asks me to update it, I update it and then it does not open at all. I uninstall it and reinstall it. Now it says that my app is registered to another device (it’s the same phone!) and I need to sign out of that device! It’s impossible as the app had been removed. Now I need to call customer service! What a waste of my time…
