Not recommended
Game got buggy in the later chapters. Especially the bonus chapter. Had the quite and restart for certain puzzles to activate once completed. Very frustrating. Not worth the headache even if it’s free.

Five BN games are my favorite! The first of the New York Mysteries is an absolutely wonderful game. We meet Laura and Mr. Bishop in their first adventure. The hardest part for me is finding what I need to advance the story and game. Where did this key go? How do I use the lightbulb? I usually can figure it out, but if I am truly stumped, I can use a hint. I like that feature. I try not to use it, but it is there. Then there are the puzzles - the best part. Graphics are excellent, and the animated clips are a very fun way to advance the story. Thank you.

Got to the ship wire part and can't access the wire. Cannot continue game and a waste of time
No ads available
Loving the game play but when I need a hint it’s always telling me there are no ads available to get one. It wants you to pay for hints which is frustrating and something that I just won’t do. I’ve altered my privacy controls to allow a lot more vendors for ads but I’m still having the same issue. Would rate this game 5 stars if not for this problem.

New York Mysteries Game and others
Found game annoying in trying to get from one small place to another and needing money in order to do so with coins, rubies or whatever cute method is used. This can add up to a small fortune for even one game. I like spending a flat fee for for a game that offers hints and guides but not at a premium price. I am disappointed and angry at this price gouging and feel these companies are hooking customers in and charging a lot of money. That being said, I won’t be buying any of the above coins, rubies, games and my advise is to companies is to keep it simple and affordable. I may be one person in hundreds who mind paying but wanted to add my thoughts. C. Mathas

Can’t find the rope and plate for the rocks to open the ceiling grate.
Frustrating
I love playing the game BUT I also hate that when your playing one of the puzzle games you either solve it or you’re just stuck on that level. I get that it’s for us to use our brains but sometimes I be so over it trying to figure it out and just wanna skip it so I can move on. BUT if you don’t complete it then you just stuck on the level or whatever and it can get really frustrating because I really do like playing the game. Maybe there should be an option to skip for a small penalty or at least a couple of free hints should load after so long or something like that just saying. I’m stuck on a puzzle so I’ll just give the game a small break and try again another time in the meantime I’ll just download or play something else
Window doesn’t open
Stuck on the ship because my window with wire and other objects won’t open to connect it with wires on the wall. I’ve already looked at other players’ walkthroughs and their works. Wtf
Good story, but..
This is a very fun game. I give this 3 stars, as I’m not impressed with them trying to charge for coins. If you want the answers to the puzzles without having to pay, go on YouTube. I refuse to buy from them. I suggest the company charge for the actual game if they want money, not try to scheme people.

This game is great for people who love mystery, puzzle games with a great story attached. I love the way you have to figure out things on your own in order to move on through the story.
Trash
I don’t know who thought this game was good, but I couldn’t even get through the first wire for the doorbell wouldn’t let me do anything. This game is trash.

I really enjoy the game love playing all of them the only let down is it doesnt let me listen to my music in the background when playing this game.
Music Issue
I love these games, but I hate that they turn off my music when I play them. That is my biggest complaint. If I could play Spotify and New York mysteries, it would be spectacular. Instead it’s disappointing. The main reason I stop playing these games is because it shuts off whatever music I’m listening to.
Earn More Coins/Rewards
I’m enjoying New York Mysteries 1, my first in the series. In other mystery games it is much easier to earn coins (energy). In this game, I would like to see coins rewarded for things such as completing a collection and completing a puzzle, to name just two examples. Since the solutions and next steps are not very obvious, it would be very helpful to be able to earn a coin now and then.
Super solid and in-depth
Fantastic so far, no stupid ads, excellent amount of puzzle vs clues to keep you moving.
Either drive you crazy or take your money…
So 88% into the game the puzzles become insolvable… prior to that they were fine… a little difficult but easy to solve in the end. But around 88% through they become impossible to solve ….pieces flip around into the previous position so you actually can’t put them in the proper place. There’s a game essentially like Tetris and when you try to put the blocks into the position, they, flip into another position so you cannot literally place them into the right spot…. really crazy making and beyond annoying. I’m not about to spend money on a game when I decided I wasn’t going to and I’m not gonna watch 10 ads in order to get the cash to get through the game. I’m done. It was actually kind of really cool before that.
Pretty Good
I don’t like the fact that you have to watch 20 videos to get 10 hints to skip something, like I watch a video and get a hint and then I watch another and don’t get a hint, like seriously 😩. Otherwise I love it!!
Frustrating
I got to the part with where you play the water glasses. I filled them as indicated and played them in the correct order as show but it wouldn’t let me proceed. I checked on a YouTube video and I was indeed doing it in the correct order, but after many attempts I couldn’t get past the second note. So I’ve given up.
Problème
Le jeu avec les graphismes et l’histoire qui donne envie d’en savoir plus est super ! Malheureusement je ne pourrais pas continuer l’histoire, quand j’essaye de récupérer l’image du personnage sur le passeport dans le bureau pour la coller sur la carte de Johana stone, impossible de la récupérer C’est bête j’aimais beaucoup le jeu …
Super fun, great puzzles
I played it all the way through the end including the bonus chapter and was very compelled throughout. Thanks guys! I’m excited to play the next ones. I’ve been playing Lost Lands as well, so it’s nice to have some parallels. The only critique I have is that the puzzles are too small in the frames. It would be nice if they became page sized. I really have to squint sometimes. I appreciate having the clues on paper or things I need to remember kept in a journal. I didn’t mind spending money on the hints because they helped me through.
So disappointed!
Early in the game there’s a puzzle that I absolutely cannot complete, and there’s no way to proceed. No hints available, no skip, just blocked. This is a good game destroyed by a showstopper.

You get very little free hints so you have to watch videos to get one more. They really want you to spend money!
Frustrating
A good game if you have time as travelling back and forth through sciences is a little frustrating. Great graphics and story keeps you involved, just needs a way of jumping to the area next required rather than step by step reversal.
Delightfully challening
A good plot line, not tons of reading, puzzles mixed with search and find. Optional hints (for purchase with coins, but not egregious). Worth many hours of puzzle fun!
Unable to proceed
Have battery, can’t pick up torch. Really frustrating. Clue just takes me to the torch which I can’t pick up. So, I have to leave this now.
My mind is racing
Great game but it does my head in, but I really love it, I can’t stop playing it and when I’m not I trying to work bits out and when I get a new bit I go yes got it! Give it a go it really is worth it.
Boring with a capital B
It is so predictable and non-eventful that after awhile you fall asleep playing it. I think I’ll go watch paint dry.
Enjoyed but had no mini game explanations
I just finished the game but i had to look online for some help with some of the mini games. I realized thru screenshots that there was supposed to be explanations for the mini games at the bottom. I had a black box but it was blank.

By far my favorite of all the mystery/detective games! Great story line, definitely use your brain to figure out some parts!

I love just about every part of this game, but I’m not a member of Mensa. The puzzles are really tough, and since the game is free the devs are making their money from players buying hints or skips. I have similar games where I’ve paid for the game but the hints are available throughout. Those games cost a fraction of this one. I’m going to have to delete this game, I’m afraid. Wish I’d realised before I’d started.

You New York 1 game is not offering the free hints with commercials. Your twisted game of using elasticized string to make an outline of a house is ridiculous….used all hints just there. Normally I have no problems with puzzles but you lost a star rating with this puzzle Left frustrated.

I appear to have completed this puzzle by not resolving most of the tasks and there was no clue where one started or finished. I enjoy these types of game but this was to mysterious to be entertaining.

These are a great series of games. Plenty to do, challenging and lots of scenes and just love those HOP’s thrown in. I usually use the walkthough when I get a bit ‘lost’. Even with the guide I was struggling with the ‘fish’ puzzle. There’s usually one or two of these stinkers thrown in as I suppose the devs have to make money some way. It took me ages to get the fish lock open as I found the guide confusing. What I did was look at the arrangement on pic B while working on A and so on. A quite ace game. Recommended. I don’t think that it’s really F2P. Some of the puzzles are fierce. The toughest one and the one that stopped my progress was the fridge puzzle. There are walkthroughs on the net, but they’re difficult to follow. This is a real stinker, hardest I’ve ever come across. They really want you to buy hints. Probably won’t bother, probably will delete and play something else.

I love all Five BN games!! This is probably my 10th one and I have loved them all!!! I highly recommend if you enjoy these types of games.

I was really enjoying this game and then got to the tyre section, melted the ice, got the car and it’s disappeared from my tools bar and so now iI cannot proceed cos its just vanished. So irritating.
