Awesome app, great product
Really great app: not sure why it has bad ratings. Just follow the app directions!! Everything you need to get started is in the box and the app walks you through it step by step.
Lost connection
When you needed it the most, they always felled you. 50% of my time is trying to connect, what a thousand door trash. This is the first and the last of KEF ever, I’m DONE.
Better than I expected
I just picked up a pair of LSX II LTs from Costco this week. Based on the reviews, I was prepared to have to use one of my other streamers via a digital input, but figured I should try the onboard app first. I have Sonos, Bluesound, and WiiM streamers in the house, and although the native KEF isn’t without some minor UX deficiencies and feature limitations, I don’t mind it. It’s not as sophisticated as the WiiM app, but can stream seamlessly from the three services I use. I’m not going to change anything at this time.
Minimal functionality
Well, this app provides the bare minimal functions for you to setup and use the KEF speakers. This is really a shame since the speakers themselves are quite good but the app does not do them any justice. It is not straight forward in the app to find my locally stored music. Once I find them, it is easy to add them to my play queue, however, this queue can’t be saved and it seems to be limited to 10 songs only even though it shows it can go up to 1000. I would not recommend to use this app to play music, only use it to setup the speakers.

Works great for what it does
I don't know why this gets such poor reviews, it works great for doing the things you need it to do, ie switching between modes and all that. The integration with Deezer and my DLNA server is excellent, better than VLC which I was using. I can add songs to queue from multiple sources, I think that is so cool! And I like to use the app instead of Airplay because it avoids the hiccup while Airplay initializes, missing the first few seconds of the song. Finally fade between songs is seamless. Overall very nice app from a small Audiophile oriented company, very impressed just like I am with the speakers. Thanks!
Clunky and Broken
Purchased the LSX II LT speakers months ago and have had nothing but issues with the software. Even when connected directly via USB-C you are required to setup the speakers first via the KEF Connect app (which is mostly impossible) and even when connected properly the app features are limited (for some reason). Dev team refuses to update and improve.

Good speakers terrible app.
One of the worst apps I have on my phone. It either doesn’t recognise the speakers or if it does the buttons are just greyed out with a spinning wheel of doom. The only way to get them to connect is to turn them on with the supplied remote and then the app will work.
Schade, wertet Hardware ab
Hatte stets gehofft, das nächste Update bringt die Überraschung..., Funktionen im Bereich der Nutzung, Sortierung, Übernahme von Informationen Streaminganbieter.... die in anderen Apps selbstverständlich sind, z.B. B&W. Schade, das KEF hier nicht investiert..., die Basisfunktionen sind ok bei mir, die Speaker sowieso klasse... aber..., die App hinterlässt derzeit einen Beigeschmack...., schade.
Gets the job done
Had not trouble to get my Lsx2 connected to the network and app. App works well, and each update improves the ease of use. Like the ability to customize the sound of my speakers.
Took away access to all settings
After some recent update the app no longer lets you change settings like whether the speakers are hardwired to one another or invert the left and right side
Lief bislang reibungslos
Die App leistete bislang an der LSX 2 gute Dienste, bis vor einigen Tagen der Zugriff auf Musikdienste nur noch im Schneckentempo möglich war. Inzwischen ist dieses Phänomen vorerst wieder verschwunden, sodass vier Sterne für die wieder hergestellte Funktionalität gerechtfertigt sind.
Wtf is going on
Spend £900 and spend hours trying to get the speakers to update. Still not working. Will prob have to send them back. Absolute rubbish. LSX LT II
Communication with Qobuz is suddenly broken
Really like this app. Focused and functional in every aspect. But since the week was so, communication with Qobuz doesn’t work anymore. Can somebody please look into this?
A breeze to use, never had any issues
These speakers look beautiful on their dedicated stands in my family room. The app is and has been completely intuitive, easy and functional.

Works perfect. Love it. Just wish KEF would add at least a 5 band EQ.
Mac and iPhone
I just bought the KEF LSX II LT from Costco for $500 and had no idea how to connect them to my Mac mini. Once I found out there’s this KEF Connect app I went to the App Store to download it - it said for iPad, not Mac. After downloading it to my Mac mini I couldn’t get the speakers to connect, so I downloaded the app on my iPhone too. It took a while, but the speakers finally connected to the iPhone, which then led to the Mac mini being able to use them. It took some patience and the use of AI to help troubleshoot. In the app there’s a normal and expert mode settings, and I recommend going through both to see what’s best for your setup - my factory setup was terrible, making me feel like I wasted $500 for what was supposed to be great speakers for their class. After a little fine tuning with the help of AI, they sound much better. Unless you’re an audio tech person, you’ll probably want some AI help in figuring out what the sounds settings are for and how they impact the result, as the app doesn’t give that sort of help. Good luck, and be patient for it to all come together!
Test mode please
Would be nice to try the app and see what it supports, check out the interface etc before spending thousands on speakers but it basically doesn’t let you in if it doesn’t detect a speaker.

Bare bones app that doesn’t work
Repeatedly doesn’t connect with Apple airplay
It’s always pot luck whether the app will get recognised by Apple airplay. I don’t know if it’s a Kef problem or an Apple problem but I frankly don’t care. They ought to get together and sort out the issues. I’ve been onto Kef and I followed their instructions, deleting the app and reinstalling it, resetting the speakers blah blah blah, it works for a while and then says that no speaker is recognised….. and then at other times it’ll work. All other apps are fine on my network, just the Kef one repeatedly stops working. However…….. I’ve since started using Qobuz and it’s a TOTALLY different experience. Conclusion? I think most of the fault lies with apple airplay
Pretty bad
For a hi fidelity app, the music skips way, way too often. And the app is extremely basic, like it was built in 2007. What gives KEF? You have to be able to do better than this.
Please add Lock Screen controls
App works OK. Often says my speakers are disconnected when they are not. Please add the ability for the app to show on the Lock Screen so the track can be changed and paused without having to go back to the app.
From Marvel to Mozart and beyond!
I am on an M1 16" and have it hooked up to a pair of KEF LS50 Wireless II, and it works perfectly. Other than an update today, it does as described. Along with creating profiles for movies and music, I have precise control over my KC62's performance to get the perfect soundstage.
Severely limited functionality
The fact that the user manual isn’t native to the app should be a point of shame. Even link for FAQ and support just leads me to a page asking me to buy more of their products. Why bother making an app if you’re going to give it 5% functionality?

It does work. But it’s incredibly buggy
This app does what it is supposed to do but only when it feels like it. It is incredibly buggy. But all the bugs are so basic like just a delay to look for the speaker before saying it’s not available. They need to fix this. These are expensive speakers.
Easy set up, primitive interface for NAS
I use KEF LSX II’s to play music stored on my NAS. (I’m a control freak about my music collection). Setting up the speakers was simple. I can’t comment on streaming service setup, since I don’t use them. The app finds my NAS easily, but the interface is drab and clunky. Difficult to navigate and clunky to use. Pity, because the speakers are superb.

I have pretty solid wireless at my house, and this app has been pretty flawless in managing my LS50 II wireless speakers for quite some time now. I have been pleasantly surprised with how solid it has been compared to how buggy the original LS50 wireless app (I have a pair of those too ;)). I just tried upgrading my speakers to the latest firmware because I hadn’t used them in a while and it was painless. I have easily been able to configure my speakers whenever I have needed to and regularly play from multiple sources without issues. The only drawback is more of a Tidal issue in that Tidal does not let you use the physical volume controls when using Tidal Connect. As such, you have to open the app each time you want to make a change. Tidal still hasn’t fixed this after a few years. I think I used wired connectivity for the first few firmware revisions but since then wireless has been problem free. 😌
Jellyfin Beware
do NOT plan on using KEF Connect with a hosted media service via Jellyfin. Nothing but headaches.
Sehr solide App
Ich verwende KEF Connect, um damit meine LSX II Speaker zu steuern. Nach einem Update der Speaker auf die neueste Firmware funktioniert die Steuerung auch sehr stabil (davor ständige Verbindungsabbrüche). Die App wirkt sehr aufgeräumt, dennoch kann man eine Vielzahl von Einstellungen vornehmen. Mein persönliches Highlight ist die Umsetzung der Internetradiofunktion, die zumindest bei mir keine Wünsche offen lässt. Auch die nativ angebotenen Streamingdienste sind gut umgesetzt (bei mir Qobuz und Deezer). Warum dann nicht fünf Sterne? Ich würde mir zusätzlich noch eine Suchfunktion über alle Quellen wünschen, wir sie z.B. bei Linn umgesetzt worden ist. Ansonsten eine aus meiner Sicht sehr empfehlenswerte App zu schlicht phänomenalen Speakern!

I’ve used many streaming apps, both low-end and high-end. This app needs a lot of work.
Good app but needs iPad optimisation
A pretty good app and seems to be working well for Tidal and Internet Radio as well as general control of my LS50 ii wireless speakers (fantastic sound). My only big disappointment is that you still get the iPhone size restrictions when running the app on an iPad. It can be really difficult selecting the correct song or album from a search list as most of the descriptive text is clipped off the right hand side of the list. An iPad optimised version would make this a great app for the speakers.
Works fine an an M1 Mac
I have been using this app on my phone without problems and decided to see if it works on an M1 Mac. It works fine for me. The other reviews indicating it does not work are a year old, so perhaps things have been fixed. Once I logged in, all my settings from my phone were there and my LSX IIs were discovered.
Stopped working in iPhone16 pro since last update.
My LS50 Wireless connected through Ethernet, it works only with AirPlay. The app keeps connecting and disconnecting at a fast pace all the time, even with the last update two days ago. Please debug.
Great app
Works flawlessly. No crashes, very user friendly. Would be perfect if one could sort or select the streaming services instead of seeing them all. Being able to turn off the speaker sound when turning on would be nice though. Also the KEF ads on the main screen are superfluous.
Needs lock screen player
This is the only audio app that I use that does NOT show the player on the Lock Screen, so one canNOT learn the song title, one canNOT learn the who the artist is… If one wants to know that info: a) unlock device, b) find KEF connect app, and c) tap it and view. Also, in mid-March 2024, I reported, within the app, sudden constant loss of WiFi with all the detailed troubleshooting steps I performed over several days. A rep responded with some questions that I answered. Then the rep instructed me to do all that I had already done (original report). All had been fine for over a year, before the mid-2024 problems…As other users report, the problem is KEF auto-updates firmware INSTEAD of allowing the user/owner to choose when to implement firmware updating. The speakers are great, but the app and KEF ought to be better.
Pretty good. Dislike adverts fixed at the top in the way
I don’t know why the first thing on the home screen is 3 slidable adverts (sound of life, podcasts and places), but perhaps that can get moved to the bottom so we can more easily use the music control app to, control our music? Other than that seems to work well enough!
Works well with iPad and iPhone
Good functionality for fine tuning KEF LS50 ii and KC62 subwoofer. Allows streaming from multiple sources including UPnP.
Doesn’t work
iPhone 16 pro max, cannot connect to LS50 wireless II. KEF became the most expensive brick in my home.
Good App / Amazing speakers
Good app overall for speaker control and adjustment of settings. Has been reliable so far with no bugs. I mainly use Spotify Connect for controlling the music streaming which can be opened directly or via the Kef app and always connects fine. Internet radio search engine is good and my other main music source. With seemingly thousands of stations the choice is endless but the app is helpful in narrowing down the searches. Improvements I’d suggest would be to provide shortcuts on the Home Screen to a top few favourite stations as at present it takes a few screens to select. Maybe combine this with switching on the speakers to be one touch operation. Also it would be useful to see summary description of station content if this is available. Perhaps some way of organising favourites would be good also as they are sorted only alphabetically at present and as faves are accumulated this may hinder sorting them and remembering what they all are! Fairly minor issues really though and the app is good. Got stuck during initial set up which turned out to be caused by the iPhone zoom setting hiding a button. Fine when zoom switched off. More important than the app the LS50 WII speakers sound totally sensational and also a truly stunning looking creation on their matching stands. Thanks Kef.

Eq settings are quite limited. There needs to be more than two bands, and the controls need to go further up and down.
DLNA upport missing
I can‘t find DLNA support in the app, so I guess it is missing. Also network configuration is missing and does not work via the speaker‘s webpage. Waiting for the next update...
Getting Better All The Time
I have had this app (and LS50W2) since software v.1 and as I write we are on v.2.3. The app presenting useful release notes for both the speaker system and the app itself. The app gets better all the time and for my use, which is radio and limited streaming it works beautifully. The radio with the new Home Button presets option is excellent. I have one glitch which has been evident for a while. On an iPhone (iOS 15.5) when playing my music from Apple’s Music App via Airplay the volume slider within Music jumps to minimum when you touch it. It seems essential to use the KEF Connect app to control the music volume played on the phone. In all other regards for me it works very solidly. A nice and elegant app, well done all.

Do not buy KEF speakers they always disconnect from the app and once you try to reconnect them good luck. If you plan on using them daily that will not be the case because they never work. Buy another brand not KEF. This big of a company and they can’t fix a simple connectivity issue that they have had for over 6 years.

The only way to reliably use my speakers is with airplay. This app either won’t find the speakers or when I try to play something, it just takes me back to the previous screen.

Why can’t they build an ability to play MQA direct from the tidal app? As for the account sign up, only the sign in with Apple ID worked for me.
