Latest app update
After several years of successful use, yesterday's app update has stopped both of my iPads from being able to find my CXN V2 - even when I tell them the IP address. Operation by remote control still fine but now I'm limited to accessing 8 presets! Update - not had this issue previously but total power down and restart of the CXN solved my problem. I'm happy again!
Streamtragic
Just stopped working. Have tried everything to get it connecting back to my MXN10 but no joy. I can stream direct from Spotify but no access to radio stations and can’t switch off the MXN10 without actually pressing the button. Disappointing from Cambridge Audio.
Please stop the bluetooth nagging!
Just updated and now *every* time I open the app it asks for Bluetooth “to connect to accessories”. This is super annoying - please can you add a facility to turn this prompt off. Otherwise, it’s still great!
Bitrate of Stream? Nope.
I have a Wiim and an MXN10. I really like searching through radio stations on the Wiim because there are so many ways to filter your search. I can search genre and country and it even has a folder (in Vtuner) for high quality audio streams. The stream magic app is not very magical, alas. I type in House music in search and I get every radio station that has the word House in it. You can understand that not every station that has the word house in it plays House music. And vice versa. So let’s see some fairy dust sprinkled on this app to actually make it live up to its name. One should not have to do radio stream research outside the app. Abracadabra!
When it works it’s great
The app has become really unstable lately. It just flashes when started, refusing to see my device until I manually disconnect and reconnect it on the device every time. The old CA app and mconnect work fine with it.
Great App
I’ve got a CA Edge NQ preamp and StreamMagic works brilliantly. I’ve no complaints. Used it for over 3 years and have found it to be bulletproof
Stream magic isn’t…
I enjoyed using this app until I had to change my router. Both CXNv2 and Stream Magic show up as connected to the hub but the app will not “find” the CXN. If I could reconnect I would give 5 stars.
Great App but Recent Stations are once more inert after 3.2.2
I love the app and especially (recently) the ability to tap a Recent Station to select it. Sadly, with the advent of this latest release, that facility has disappeared. Can you please reinstate it?
update breaks radio search
still works on old ios and new droid version but this one whiffs…. wasted hours until figured it out…. worked week before last…… love my streamer but your device interfaces are rather last century and you are long overdue to hire someone with game…. good fortunes and fidelity to you and all listeners
Major bug in the latest version
Works fine except a major bug has creeped in that the play queue doesn’t show. Developer needs to get this fixed as a matter of urgency.

Utter junk
Utter junk, there is no way to add a full album to the queue (listening from NAS), so you have to listen a song and then manually add and play another song and so on. Android app is way better, IOS version is a total junk…
Works well, visually bland
I’ve been using this for about a year now with my iPhone 14 Pro and CXN V2. App has been stable and works well but would love to have a native browsing experience (aka visual browsing) of the Qobuz library like Auralic Lightning DS.
Good device shame about the app
The app refuses to show my purchases in Qobuz most of the time When they do appear I get a forbidden error when I select one to view tracks Thankfully Qobuz connect works seamlessly and the app does play my local files Hopefully things will improve over time as the device itself is very good and sounds amazing through my quad amp
Long time to connect
Once connected this is a user friendly app, especially when used in conjunction with Tidal connect. However, it can take several minutes to find and connect to the player each time app is opened which is very frustrating.
Substantial UI improvements
I had previously complained to CA about the UI on the app. It gave priority to their notifications/updates etc and made common actions require a downward scroll. Recent updates have greatly cleaned this up perfectly and selecting sources or stations are simple and prominent. Nice work! CD art coming through is a nice touch too.
Version 4.00 problems
I’ve been using my Cambridge audio evo 75 for over a year now but since the stream magic app update last week it’s 50/50 if my iPhone or iPad will connect, just constant searching for product. What’s even more annoying is I can’t still see it on airplay. What’s the point of an app if you can’t connect it to your streamer?
Any new Music Services coming?!
Any news with the all new cxn100. Would love some type of AmazonHD here in the States.
Lousy connection
My phone can connect to the CXN2 using Apple play easily but the CA app simply can’t find the player.
Connection issues.
Please can you fix the app’s connection issues. I can spend hours trying to get the app to see the MXN10 and get nowhere. Thank god I have Tidal connect as it finds the unit straight away.

Very disappointing app and even more disappointing hardware. So unreliable, so temperamental. If you have alternatives then use them.

I love my Cambridge cxnv5. Music has never sounded so good.
Somethings changed
Had been fine, worked without issue. Last few months fails to find CXNV2 which it used to every time instantly. I end up casting or airplay rather than using Streammagic now
Shame no cache
This App would be much more slick if it cached the playlists from previous use. Currently every time it’s opened, there’s a wait for it to connect to streamer, determine that hard drive is connected & read it’s contents before displaying on phone screen. I would suspect the vast majority of users are like me & don’t change hardware status between usage. So therefore playlists etc are the same & could be shown immediately. If a change to the system is detected, then that can be updated once the connection & reading of storage has taken place. The amended list then being cached for next time. If playlists could be added to favourites that’d be good too. Other ways of searching such as most recent would be welcome. Most times it connects quickly, but there have been too many times when it doesn’t & I have to switch off & reboot phone to get it to connect.
Better and better
This most recent update includes an equaliser. I listen predominantly on headphones with CA MXN10, so now being able to fine tune the audio input is very welcome. I’d be interested to know what the factory preset is so that I could start with it as a basis to make my own adjustments, rather than start from scratch.
Can’t see the streamer
V disappointed. The app doesn’t find the streamer with a wifi mesh extender , but I can play music directly via tidal . I have messaged support , but you need a degree in IT to try and make sense of the problems.
almost perfect
Please fix the track slider bar. On multiple devices it wants to slide the entire screen when you move the track slider to jump to a section in the song. Please create a “dead spot” around the track bar that only lets your touch change the track playing position !!
Works but clunky
Works in a basic sense but not user friendly. Same as the NAIM app, you frequently have to reboot your router to maintain connection. Very tedious. Also, the ergonomics of it are really poor. Why isn’t there a volume control on the Home Screen?! Incredible but it’s hidden three presses away. Then there’s the look. Could be so much nicer. I’d love to see it improved.
Needs playlists!
App is ok. I just got an evo 150. But, to be competitive in this space Cambridge Audio really needs to add playlist creation and support. It’s not really competitive with other options in this space without this feature.

Let’s face it I bought this streamer because,one it’s made buy Cambridge audio and your garenteed top build quality. Two sound quality. Set up is is very easy and simple to follow. I chose Tidal as my source. I,m using a Marantz cinama 50 which I connected the streamer to the tuner output, I thought the sound was stunning, just a joy to listen too, Thank you so much. Les.
Doesn’t work
Ever since I bought the streamer, the app won’t stream. Takes 45 mins to connect.
Works well, could use a few enhancements to be perfect app
App works seamlessly with CXN V2 and can browse through my SSD FLAC and DSD music collection fairly fast. Could use a few tweaks to make it perfect. Wish list: 1. Volume dial doesn’t show relative position in app despite being connected to CXA81 via control bus. 2. No way to play all of music collection with a push of a button via app 3. No ability to create a favorites list 4. No ability to create playlists These added features would make the system more amazing than it is already
Fails always to find my EVO and CXN
Never can find either my wired or wireless streamers. Failed to resolve with CA technical support. On iPhones, iPads etc and the CXN wireless hardly ever discovered
App appears not to connect with CXN100
Attempting to connect using iPad. Downloaded the app, used Ethernet chord to connect CXN100 to network, CXN showed connected. Assured both iPad and CXN were on the same network. Used the wired connection option. App cannot find the device. Bluetooth option not available either. Tried factory reset. Same result. Integrated power amp when using same Ethernet connection has no problems. Please, any ideas?

Frustrated!!!!
Unbelievably frustrating! Cambridge audio sounds so good but connectivity with CXN100 and iPhone/tidal is so complicated. Every time I switch it on I cannot connect. I’m well fed up! Not much support either?! Have I wasted £899.00!!!!

Connects pretty well with minimal interruptions but with QoBuz the variety of music for each artist is harder to find and the general interface with QoBuz is not as good as going direct via QoBuz Also streaming is very inconsistent with other applications like google play
Average and frustrating software
Standard responses: did not add track to queue and, when looking for my server, nas found but no content found. If there was an issue with set up id understand, however, it was all working for a while but then suddenly couldn’t locate the files. No changes had been made, just couldn’t locate my music. I’ve now given up and have bought an alternative streamer. Which, I hasten to add found my nas and all the music instantly. Such a shame as the product itself is great. I also own the Cambridge cd transport and cxa81 which are so good.
Love the CXN V2 but need to return it due to the Stream Magic app
User experience is so important, especially with the amount of competition in the streamer space. I truly love the sound of this streamer and how it pairs with the CXA81, but the app is serviceable at best. Navigation is clunky getting around the Quobuz section. I have it hardwired to a NAS and my music shows up fine using the dial on the unit, but via the app there is "no content" so I cannot use the app to play anything other than streaming. Really disappointing. You guys HAVE to put some real work into this app to stay current and make the user experience fun, intuitive and easy.
Update not working correctly on IPad Pro ( fixed )
StreamMagic is unresponsive once opened their is an advert for registration and updates that I have already done a long time ago. Nothing works when trying to scroll through the app unresponsive. This rectified itself after I installed new iPad update
Crashing Continually
This should work with IOS 12 and above according to the manual. I’m downloading on a IPad mini three which is 12.5.7 It downloads fine from the AppStore. Cannot get it to open. Just get a blank green screen then it crashes. I’ve tried everything to solve this. Help!
Works well but updates like this could be more customer friendly
It’s been working well for a few years but this morning there was a message telling me improvements had been made and I needed to reconfigure my presets. I basically just use Qobuz through this app, and this morning it would not play any music ‘Failed to add to Queue’ was the only help given. If anyone else finds this, it’s because you have been signed out of Quobz and Quobz has been removed and needs to be added again. Strangley I could still browse the Qobuz library and select music to play. Better help should be provided when such breaking changes are made. It’s 2 years since I configured my device. I’m a registered user with Cambridge Audio but never received any notification of the upcoming change.
Reliability issues
I find the App can still be glitchy. For instance today I tried to play a FLAC via the USB link and the streamer insisted that I had to go through the StreamMagic app. Meanwhile the app couldn’t find my network. And that’s pretty regular failing depending on the source I choose.
Audio spec removed!
The latest update no longer shows the audio spec of albums when searching within Qobuz. This is such a shame and I’m sure everyone would hope this could be reverted to how it was before. Why would this be changed?

Just started using Stream Magic V2 with my new C Audio MXN-10 Network Streamer . Compréhensive, easy to use and far better than my past experiences with Technics and Yamaha.

I can't add whole folders to a queue from USB device any more with the new update so not as good as the old version for me
Updated: after deleting and reinstalling the radio options reappeared

No Amazon Prime option
There is no support of Amazon Prime Music so not much use if that’s the music system you subscribe to. Is there any way to connect my iPhone to this streamer without using the app? I look for it in Bluetooth devices like I would with my car or ear phones but nothing shows up. Disappointed that have this and cannot find how to play my music via my phone.
No magic at all
I have a Cambridge Audio CXNv2 streamer, which I primarily use for listening to my music collection At the time that I purchased it, the only software available to support it was CA Connect. That still works satisfactorily - most of the time. I note that the streamer has since been firmware updated to make to display screen suggest using StreamMagic rather than CA Connect. I have downloaded the app to my iPhone and iPad Pro (both on the latest iOS release) and the app just not fit for purpose. Firstly, every time that I start it up a dialog box appears that insists that some initial set up is required, yet all that happens if OK is clicked is a black screen appearing. What’s that all about? Secondly, and more fundamentally, when actually trying to access my media library, held on a 500gb HDD, the display of artists (the top level) starts from A, then stops at some apparently arbitrary point further down the alphabet. I have never been able to get the app to offer up anything beyond M. Thirdly, CA Connect shows the album artwork in its listings while Streammagic does not. Hence my assessment that the app is not fit for purpose. Update. After contacting Cambridge Audio’s support team, Norton 360 was identified as the culprit that was stopping communication between my streamer and my app. As long as I remember to turn off the Safe Web component of Norton 360 before running StreamMagic it will work - albeit with some peculiarities, hence the reason it now gets three stars. I’d like to know why Norton 360 interferes with StreamMagic, but is quite happy to let CA Connect work without issue.
