No Investment Capital Gains/Losses Reporting
I purchased MoneyWiz 2026 tonight. I have been using Quicken for 20 years. I hoped that MoneyWiz could solve some of the accuracy issues in my Investment Brokerage account synchronization. Specifically I am looking for Capital Gains/Losses reporting. I actively trade and have many buy/sell transactions. The MoneyWiz product does NOT do any Capital Gains Reporting. I am very disappointed.
Great software moderately good support
The software is pretty good, and on the whole has gotten better with each release. Unfortunately, as is the case with new programming, bugs get introduced. My frustration is after reporting a bug, and supplying all the information needed, I have to go through the challenge of proving it is a bug and not a user error. And that has gotten very old at this point. I have reported some 10 bugs in the 2 years I have used this product and there hasn’t been a single time where I haven’t had to jump through hoops to get the developer to actually look at the problem. I appreciate the need to verify and screen out user errors, but it gets truly ridiculous when you report something like “balance display is displaying negative when it should be positive.” And you send screen shots. A fairly good Clue: Apple Cash and Apple savings accounts SHOULD NOT BE DISPLAYING A NEGATIVE BALANCE.

Does not sync!!
I have a premium subscription yet my devices are not syncing. I cannot keep track of my finances, which is why I purchased this.
Brilliant!
I’ve only just started using this but it’s really helpful. I was using spreadsheets previously but needed something I could use on my phone to keep everything updated on the go. This is perfect for that, and even better that it automatically download transactions from my bank. The support is really helpful and they come back really quickly with thorough answers
Wonderful but…
I’ve used this instead of just logging into my bank, I was disappointed when future balances disappeared now there’s a significant update and all my accounts are wiped - not happy if this is the state of the quality testing when developing!

Great customer service
Had a small problem when using MoneyWiz. Sent an email to them and within a few minutes got a response . The easy fix they suggested worked . So glad to be using MoneyWiz
iCloud sync issues
I'm on the latest version but there still seems to be issues with icloud sync. I'm adding transactions and they don't appear in the list. Scheduled transactions don't appear when paid. And then some of the transactions are disappearing completely and I'm having to re enter. Something is seriously wrong. Are these issues all being addressed?

Just downloaded the latest update and all my accounts were lost when I opened my accounts… Issue fixed with latest update… I’ve recovered from the shock! Thanks MoneyWiz dudes!
Buggy as hell, really regretting this
Been using this for a week and the import is incomplete, won’t sync with any reliability, and requires constant restarts to interact with transactions. Oh, and it won’t connect with student loan servicers. i don’t want a refund, I want the functionality that was promised.
Latest update deleted everything
This latest update is awful. Starts off by saying it is upgrading the database then all data was gone within seconds. Fortunately a reinstallation of the app and syncbits resync fixed the data but this is very poor! It did the same thing on all of my devices. Minor heart attack caused.
My Favorite Finance App
I have been using MoneyWiz for more years than I can remember. It is by far my favorite app. Synchronization across my devices is always seamless. The developers and support staff are always there if you need them. And the app has only gotten better with time. My highest recommendation!
Was great until the cloud update
7/16/26 update: Now my spouse and I can’t sync anything. We have been working on this for two days, but we’ve lost all ability to share data with each other, which took away the entire reason we used it in the first place. We’re done with this app.
At last - Sync that works
I have tried this app on and off for years hoping it could replace Microsoft Money. But only now that sync’ing is via iCloud does this actually work. I have still not gone premium again as the linking with multiple Chase accounts always went wrong and left out accounts but may try again.
This is worse than ther previous version
Why did you remove balance line below each transaction? Please don’t make releases just for sake of change. This is dumb. Why don’t you leave as it is?

Wiped my data
Woke up this morning with your latest update completely wiping my data , oh yea forgot can’t even use my backup from yesterday. I’ve been using your app for year even before you became a subscription based app and you lost a customer who now has to spend hours looking up due date for my bills and go through my checking account for transactions thanks for nothing
Misleading pricing
Currently trying the demo version and I like what I see so far. I am looking to replace my Quicken with this. But the pricing listed in the description is misleading. Why can’t this be corrected?

App is okay but needs work
The app is fine once you get used to the different interface. The interface does not display ledgers like other finance apps. It’s a bit different but not that hard to get used to. Creating custom reports isn’t as robust and customizable as other accounting or finance apps either. But, my biggest complaint is the syncing across devices. It’s never 100% accurate (and yes, I have iCloud syncing turned on). For example, today my net worth is synced properly but my reports are not. My laptop and iPhone are displaying different totals when I bring up custom reports I’ve created. This really needs to be addressed/fixed. Syncing is pretty much worthless if it’s not accurate.

From Spreadsheets to App finance 📊➡️📱 I have bought multiple pre-made spreadsheets on Etsy, created my own, and gone through countless rounds of trial and error. I was constantly transferring data from one spreadsheet to another, trying to make everything work the way I needed it to. Honestly, I was about ready to give up. Then I found this app. It goes FAR beyond what I was looking for, and it’s fantastic! My husband and I manage both a business and our household finances, and finding a system that could handle both without everything clashing was nearly impossible. What I love most is that it has multiple dashboards, each with its own categories, payees, reports, and organization. Everything finally has its place. This app has given me a clear picture of our business finances, household budget, upcoming bills, and tax planning categories all in one system. My mind can finally settle. And yes, this works incredibly well for both business and personal finances. PURCHASE THIS APP. You won’t regret it. SERIOUSLY!!

Features removed shortly after paying annual subscription
Used to be pretty much perfect, but now some of the features I enjoyed on the Standard plan have been pushed up to the Premium tier. A shame because it impacts your experience just two months into your annual subscription without prior warning. Just an app update a way from losing more features in the future. Unfortunately, I'll be looking for alternatives and not pay a 4th year. Great app and dev team if you don't mind potentially losing features after you paid for them. Thank you for 3 great years together. Edit: as a response to dev team, the feature I'm referring to was PM/AM hour prices updated on stocks. Perhaps it was supposed to be a higher tier feature from the start, but it used to work.

Best money app
I have been using this app for over 10 years and it continues being my go to personal finance app. I’ve tried several other ones, but they don’t have what I’m looking for. The best feature that I like is the forecasting my future balance. This has helped me get out f debt by forecasting if an unnecessary purchase is going to throw off my balance six months down the road then it stops me from making that purchase today. Each time that I’ve used this app it keeps me more accountable of my spending habits and it’s helped me to stay on track with paying down certain debts because of that.
Will not keep a connection
I have been trying for 3 days with technical support to get this to work. The initial Plaid connection works, and after that it will not update and I get errors. I have disconnected and reconnected the accounts three times per tech support and it’s the same thing. They keep saying that Plaid says the connection is lost and to disconnect and reconnect. I’m not doing this a 4th time. This is a great idea if it worked, but somehow Plaid and this app cannot continuously talk to each other. And they only respond at 2am when I’m asleep with no option for phone support. This is with two separate banking entities so I know it is not the bank.
Massive price hike
I like MoneyWiz for the SaltEdge banking integration. The rest of the app is ok but not amazing, even so, I’ve been a regular subscriber for the past few years. Now however, we’re getting a massive price hike from £48.98/year to £59.99/year & I can’t see anything on the roadmap to justify it other than the promise of HMRC integration when the developer decides to add it. I still find it frustrating that transactions get imported into incorrect categories - please get some AI into this process.
Slow to sync
Been using this for quite a while and the only real problem I have with it is the slow syncing. I don’t mean with banks, I’m not connected to any bank. I mean between devices. I can enter a transaction on one device but it takes a while after opening the app on another device for it to reflect that transaction
iCloud sync migration
Switched to a beta (TestFlight). Issue has been fixed in a recent version by the developer. Initial sync was slow - very slow, with lots of ‘iCloud is unavailable’ notices. I have a solid 1gb download and 100mb upload broadband. I checked the speeds prior to starting the migration. My iCloud account has almost 2tb free space. At 96% complete, MoneyWiz crashed and asked me to send an email asking what I was doing at the time of the crash. On re opening the app, it shown iCloud migration was successful. My balances and accounts all appear ok. However, on looking in the iCloud activity log, errors are happening all the time. Nervously continuing to monitor!
Don’t miss this one!
I have used this app for more than 10 years! The regular updates and feature adds are fantastic and appreciated. I’ve recently tried a couple of other apps that have generated high buzz and that experience only found me appreciating this app so much more. It truly is one of the best apps available for budgeting, hitting your financial goals, and keeping track of your finances. The custom reports are icing on the cake. I completely recommend this app. I am also deeply grateful for the support whenever I’ve inquired about something I was trying to accomplish.

Great app but…
Great app, very easy UI, the only thing to get a 5 star review is to be able to pay the outstanding balance of the credit card with one step.
Throwing in the towel!!
I keep trying to use this app. Right after I purchased Premium it kept crashing. So I stayed away. Tried again months later. Used most of my CPU and brought my M4 MacBook with 24gb memory to a crawl. Stopped using. Just tried again. Doesn’t let me add banking institutions, gives me an error. “client_user_id cannot be a nil value. Please provide a valid unique identifier for the user.” Then the window goes blank with nowhere to put said username. What an absolute mess!!
Not A Fan
There are things I like about the app and things I literally hate. The ability to link to my bank and credit card accounts is nice, but never accurate. I can’t get help in fixing it or finding out the problem. Customer service was helpful on some items when I was looking to buy, but after I bought they send to articles that actually don’t work. I am presently looking for an alternative even after I paid for a year in advance.
best app for forecasting cashflow and future balances
This remains by far the best app for forecasting cashflow and actual future balances, considering both recurring deposits like paychecks and regular bills, one-time scheduled transactions user can add manually for anticipated major expenses or less-than-monthly bills that may be large like annual insurance bills if you pay in full once a year. Other apps I’ve tried use projections based on historical data but not actual future transaction dates.
Plaid Bank Access Broken
Plaid connect to investments work but connect to credit cards, savings and else is broken. Please, fix. Not a plaid issue - Monarch Money works.

No updates according to development road map
The website for this app has a development roadmap for future updates and improvements. Unfortunately these updates to the development of the app have not happened. Not sure if I will continue with this app.
Fantastic application
MoneyWiz 2026 is without question the best. I have been using the Beta Versions and have had no problems. Last night another update was released. It fixed a few issues and added many more! My favorite is they added a larger font. Before there were 3, but now 4 (extra large). The layouts are numerous and can create one for your preference. Only option not fully available is cleaning transactions once you exceed 10,000 entries. They’re working on it. They are amazing at answering any email you send. Overall, a great product. Only hiccup is if you subscribe to the yearly where you can connect with your financial institution and download transactions automatically. It works with quite a few financial institutions but some do not appear yet. I subscribe to a plan that is $29.00 a year. It syncs between all your devices with no advertising. This plan does not include syncing with banks. Overall a great product. They update the program regularly and really have an excellent program.

Too buggy for subscription software
In the main, this app does what it's supposed to do and does it quite well. By that I mean you can open the app on any device, input an transaction and it'll sync to all other devices. If you want to search for a previous transaction or view a bunch of transactions to individually cross reference them, then it turns into a buggy mess. For instance, ever since the revamped UI came about, if I select 'All Transactions' then do a search, it'll switch to my top credit card account and inevitably find nothing as I seldom use it. I then have to select 'All Transactions' and repeat the search for it to work. Hardly end of the world stuff, but it's a pain for an app that should have constant development to justify its annual subscription cost. Worse still though (and the reason I downed tools to update my review) is if you switch to grid view, filter your results on a specific category or payee then try to navigate down the list to cross reference your entries. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can click on a row and it'll show it's selected by highlighting blue - lovely and exactly what I'd expect to happen. I can easily read all columns specific to that row. However, most times you click and click, scroll up and down a bit, click some more and still nothing. Inevitably you have to double-click (or right-click Edit) to open the transaction then close it and it'll allow you to select it. If I didn't have data dating back to 2011 then I'd seriously be looking elsewhere as, by todays standards, the UI is incredibly poor. UPDATE: The most recent update has caused me to knock this down another star. The new UI is absolutely horrible plus there’s settings that make it look like you can change the icon but clicking on another icon does absolutely nothing. I started using this over 15 years ago because it was really nice looking software that served a purpose. It’s been on a steady decline since they switched to a subscription model. I guess they feel like they’ve got their customer base locked in now so there’s no need to try anymore. I’m going to be looking for an alternative and, if I can’t transfer my transactions over, then I’ll look to simply start again it’s gotten that bad.
Good but deserves more
Nice app. Good interface, but There is quite alot of missing features that I find important. Such as credit card repayment functionality, automation through Shortcuts during apple pay transactions, ability to add category on transfers
