I find it extremely unfair and unnerving for people to be allowed to come into rooms with no way of knowing who they are. People can’t even talk freely how they want to and it’s really negatively impacting the experience for me. Get rid of it. It was not necessary in the first place. Or you need to add a feature giving hosts the option to not allow anonymous people enter the room.
Clubhouse Onboarding: A Product & Consent Flow That Needs Urgent Fixing
I want to flag this from a product + user-consent perspective, because I genuinely don’t think this is the experience you intended for Clubhouse. I allowed microphone access. I did not allow notifications or contacts. I then tapped “Next Steps” — and instead of letting me explore the product, I was pushed back to the screen asking for my phone number. That raises a pretty fundamental question: Is the core mechanism of the app designed around access to my contacts, or is notification permission so critical that a user cannot even tour the product without granting it? If that’s the intended flow, I’d seriously reconsider it. Permission requests should enable the experience, not become a gate to experiencing the product. This is exactly the kind of friction that increases bounce rate at the most valuable point in the funnel — onboarding. I don’t know what Rohan’s Phone a Friend, Talkshow or Uncalendar currently do, but honestly, this isn’t the experience I expected from Clubhouse. There’s also a more serious issue here around data and consent. Once I’ve already provided my phone number/OTP and you’ve captured my data, the product shouldn’t effectively put me in a position where I have to concede additional permissions simply because I’m already halfway through onboarding. If I have declined contacts or notifications, I should still be able to explore the app and make an informed decision later. And if I decide I don’t want to proceed, there should be a clear and accessible way to delete the data already collected, rather than making continued access or additional consent feel like the only path forward. The current flow essentially feels like: “We’ve already collected your data → now give us more permissions to proceed.” That is a very different proposition from: “Here’s the product → decide which permissions you’re comfortable granting based on the value you see.” From both a product-design and consent perspective, I’d consider this an urgent flow to revisit. The first few minutes of the product should build trust and curiosity — not make the user feel trapped between Skip and Concede.

What makes clubhouse great is the amazing people you can find if you’re patient. The technology is not special. Paltalk was doing this in 1999. In fact the owners are making the tech worse every year. You used to be able to listen to rooms while multitasking. Now if your screen is on another app, or goes dark, clubhouse throws you out. SMH. You don’t win users by punishing them!

The up keeps getting random features updates then they roll back to old ones, they don’t have consistency when it comes to vision or development path, but thats only my take My main issue is few One if ur deactivated and subscribed they keep auto renew !!!!! Two if ur deactivated and lost your mobile number when u try to log in using the email you go into loop, no email codes be sent to ur email and they suspend u from trying again for security reasons so fix functionality then warp it with security rather than that the application created a fun community

OK so I've been here since a month after the App launched initially. Some of the people on this app are my closest and dearest friends them are coworkers, mentors, coaches, Family. But then again… There's also the thousands of people who I have met and enjoyed one or two conversations with, followed them, and then they deleted the app years ago. 5000 people add up quickly and I would love to be able to check for active members. While I hate to delete my friend Pip who I met the first week I was on the app, she hasn't been on the app for almost 5 years and we are connected on other social media as well as we can call each other all we want. It would be nice to be able to free up this space so I can follow and get to know new people who are active on the app. But instead of being able to easily filter for this I have to go through one by one every one of my friends and check to see who is active and who isn't and it's just a big time waste so I end up just not following new people (something I assume is common amongst people who've been here a while) So instead of asking us to go greet new people and join new clubs why don't you just help us to filter out some space so we can follow the specific new people that we do want to get to know not some random name you've just given us and told us to go wave at. It's a win-win for everyone. Plus think of all of the data space that it frees up on the back end. Why they haven't done that yet I have no idea. I am glad that they have now implemented to where you can see how many followers you have beyond just the people that you follow back

When I say more what I mean is we have to find our truth our authentic self in order to be the quality that we seek in ourselves and when that happens a critical mass occurs within the group so yes let’s be the most we can be as an individual so that we can be more together because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts but just remember if even so much as one of us is missing then the whole would be incomplete so let’s be all we can be together shall we?
Clubhouse: 6 Years of Loyalty, Zero Respect for Users
Very Disappointed I’ve been on Clubhouse for about 6 years and was consistently among the platform’s top users, ranking around the top 0.5–1% based on activity and Karma. Despite that history, Clubhouse suspended my account and refused to provide any meaningful explanation or evidence. Their customer service has been extremely disappointing. From my experience, Clubhouse is also becoming a platform where freedom of speech feels increasingly restricted. Users can lose years-old accounts without being given a clear explanation or a meaningful opportunity to defend themselves. I understand that platforms have rules, but there should also be transparency, consistency, and a fair appeal process. What is even more concerning is what happens to money left on suspended accounts. I had user tips on my account, and instead of clearly explaining how those funds will be returned to me, Clubhouse has provided no real answer. Users should not simply lose money they earned or received because their account was suspended. I also reported an impersonation account that was using my name and my photo and had the extremely hateful name “I Hate Jews.” I reported this account repeatedly—around 100 times—and Clubhouse failed to take meaningful action. So, to summarize my experience: • 6+ years on the platform • Top 0.5–1% of users • Account suspended without a meaningful explanation • Poor customer service • Money/tips left on the account with no clear payout process • An account impersonating me and using hateful content that I repeatedly reported, with no meaningful action • A platform that, in my experience, increasingly restricts freedom of speech while providing little transparency about enforcement decisions After years of supporting and contributing to Clubhouse, this experience has been extremely disappointing. I expected much better from the platform and its Trust & Safety team.

I really enjoyed clubhouse for a while, but I have been unable to access it for a while. I moved countries, so my number has changed. Also changed my phone. I downloaded the app but there’s no option to sign in for those who already have an account. I can’t keep creating new accounts everytime I move. It’s exhausting. I wish I could get my account back, honestly.

Horrible update after an update
Please stop adding unnecessary features like the recent tags. I'm not interested in any of the suggested tags, and I don't want notifications for rooms that don't interest me. Additionally, you need to improve privacy settings, as I don't want recorded rooms to be publicly visible on my profile.

It was brilliant until recent updates. changing follower in to friends, we lost most of our previous recorded rooms. worse than all with new updates hardly you can reach 100 people in a room. previously within 1 hour we could have 1000 people in a room and within few hours we could reach 8000 people and it was becoming effective social media. why have you destroyed club house?? what wrong with you guys?? have you been paying to make this application unpopular??why you’ve done these stupid updates??? why???
