Terrible
The connectivity is terrible. You can’t get speakers to connect and stay connected. Flat terrible since they went to the new speakers using Wi-Fi instead of the mesh system they used to use. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve talked to that were in the Sonos ecosystem and left it because of this garbage.
Fantastic at 100%
The sound is excellent for a wireless system. Your wifi needs to be fast and excellent signal. Every so often the system can be frustrating due to wifi issues that require resetting. Have had the system for over 5 years. The past 6 months has been consistently great.
Sad
My Sonos speakers used to work great and I could use them from my phone or my computer. Connect them to my TV easily. But nowadays, they don’t wanna connect too much of anything.

Having Sonos has expanded my personal and entertainment options. I have always been a music lover, now have access to all of the music I have loved and new music as well to explore.

We are back to functionality from before the app got all jacked up. I *really* want to see Sonos as a share target for Apple Music URLs - imagine looking at something in Apple Music and having it play on your Sonos without having to type or use AirPlay! I’ve tried to make a shortcut but it’s not great.

I can neeeeever get connected if the power goes out or I move the speaker to a different outlet. Connecting to the speaker sucks.

Ever since the update a few years a ago
Sonos has never been the same since the update that they did a few years ago. They used to be easy, intuitive, flawless. Now it’s plagued with problems and nobody is willing to help you when you call them. They give you a ticket number and do nothing. I invested thousands of dollars in Sonos units when they were awesome now I’m stuck with them and I have constant problems.
Just 1 improvement needed
I’d love it this app could also be used to control the Sonos play 5 version 1. So annoying that I have to use 2 apps.

Update 25.08.2026: Sonos hat lange und hart an der App gearbeitet und nimmt die user wieder ernst. Fast wieder perfekt, mit vielen Fixes uns Erweiterungen macht die Bedienung jetzt auch Spaß und Sinn. ———————————- Die App hat eine Bedienkonzept, das einfach nur gruselig ist. Ich nutze sie täglich seit mehr als 10 Jahren und klicke dauernd ratlos umher. Technisch ebenfalls eine Katastrophe. Dauernd Pausen , Abbrüche, suchen im WLAN, schleppender Zugriff usw. Wenn ich kein Fanboy und der Klang nicht so gut wäre (hardware können sie offensichtlich), würde ich mich davon trennen. Sonos, wann wacht ihr auf?
New App Volume Control Is Awful
The app worked just fine for my Sonos Bar. Then they updated the UI and volume control is terrible. Accidentally muting the sound because the control buttons either hide or are way too small.
Perhaps we’ve turned a corner?
Since Sonos broke their ecosystem a couple years ago, it’s been a painful years, trying to get a multidevice household back to flawless working order. In the past month, things appeared to be added in the right direction. Being able to turn off the Sonosnet on the device devices, appears to be making a big difference. Also, whatever Sonos appears to have corrected on their Wi-Fi and ethernet set up, is making a big difference in my UniFi network environment. The Sonos devices were seemingly broadcasting themselves, even though wireless was supposedly off (on both wireless and Ethernet), causing the UniFi devices to block the port because it was sensing a loop. It was a false negative, but it was causing havoc in my home environment and causing the Sonos devices just to be perpetually off-line or in need of a reset. Hopefully, they will be building upon these recent improvements to get back to a level of stability, control, and usability. Also, the alarms appear to be working as expected now.

WiFi Connectivity
Certain Sonos speakers do not connect well to WiFi. We’ve had this issue with the Sonos Beam 2 with two different internet carriers and in different outlets around the house. It is the only device that has issues connecting to WiFi. This appears to be due to issues connecting to 5 GHz networks. The app does a poor job explaining this issue and helping with resolution.
Much Better
Volume controls far better now, don’t ever update the app. It’s now about tolerable!

The sound? Outstanding. I’m not sure it could be better. The lag and connectivity via the app to the speaker is constant. Requires having to reconnect waaaay too often. They have to improve this
Game Changer!
Getting Sonos in our house at the beach has been monumental for feeling in control while entertaining or just having some friends over. The ability to individually control volumes and do everything from your iPhone has been so much fun. Can’t wait to add more speakers to the system.

App will not open. Removed and downloaded multiple times will never open.

Bought Sonos speakers at IKEA and a sub and ssb mini from Sonos. Love the stations that come in app s2!
Skips songs
Always on the first song it skips the song after playing it for 20 seconds. The software has improved since Sonos destroyed it but still isn’t back to the level it was prior to the new rollout.

I’m in the middle of refinding / rebuilding my existing Sonos speakers, since 3/4 of them disappeared for no reason. The app asked for a rating and review so here I am. WTH Sonos?
Finding Spotify Playlists in Sonos
Can be really difficult to find -ALL- MY Spotify playlists while in Sonos. Can find the “active” playlist but struggle to find others.

Improving again
When playing music from a Hi Res source on a NAS, “Hi Res” is not displayed on the app as in pre May 2024 versions.When opening app whilst music is playing, music stops, need to press pause and play again, to restart. Playing music from NAS, music stops before end of track and needs to be restarted again.
Best Speaker System
Does it get any better than SONOS? Don’t waste your time looking. Get the best system on the market for price, sound and usability; SONOS!
Not too happy about the app lately.
My system is now always asking me to update and my subwoofer won’t play anymore. The app constantly asks me to update my system but when I do then it says there’s no system found.
Good but not fantastic
I’ve had Sonos for 10 years. I’ve noticed lately that it takes a while to load on my phone even though my internet is at top speed and everything else is working perfectly. I also miss the ability to control it from my phone’s lock screen which I used to do before all the updates.
Connectivity Is Awful
Had Sonos speakers for a few years. Sound is excellent, no problems with that. However, the connectivity is at best, awful, most of the time.

Sonooos
Much better. New tab based ui is significant improvement. More intuitive, fewer taps required for various actions. What has taken so long though? So looong. Why don’t you just rush poorly tested updates? Oh wait… yeah take your time.

It’s a pain to connect. Keep opening and closing the app because there’s no connection

J’aime beaucoup le principe de pouvoir se connecter par wifi et de pouvoir diffuser sa musique via les applications de streaming, les radios locales et mondiales dans différentes pièces et selon son choix. Par contre la connexion des différents appareils est très irrégulière et irrationnelle. Rageant par moment . Bref quand ça veut fonctionner, c’est idéal.
Updated interface is much better
Great app especially after this interface update. It’s not officially out, but when you go to settings there’s an option to try it out. It’s much better.
Unreliable
Playing music through Sonos is so frustrating. When you have a multi room setup it drops speakers constantly. If you try to skip a song and change playlists it freezes. Very trusting for a company that charges a premium (and is basically Apple).
Getting better
Still a bit of a confusing experience but getting heaps better than it was. Finally got + and - icons for setting volume. Finally!
Persistent problems
Can’t think of another ‘premium’ product that has such a consistently poor user experience. Plagued by problems, from app authorisation to forgetting devices on networks, I rarely get through a session without some kind of inconvenience stopping me from accessing the content I want.
Unreliable
When it works, it’s good but it often loses contact with the Wi-Fi for reasons which I think are specific to Sonos
