Updates almost every day!
Updates almost every day, yet still doesn’t work very well, and keeps getting bigger.
CarPlay issues
I love NTS and want to be able to listen to it in my car. I can usually access Live, Mixtapes, and Discovery fine, but when I try to access "My NTS," it tells me I need to log in on my phone, even though I'm already logged in and it's dangerous to use my phone while driving. Can this be fixed?
Might be the first to say: great app, terrible djs
I finally found a DJ that I liked (Hot Mess), and it turns out to be his last show. Why? Every other dj seemingly can’t resist putting house, noise, or elevator muzak in their playlists at some point or another. I’m trying to play music at work, in a public setting, and I’m forcing them to listen to weird music that I don’t even like. It’s a disservice to weird music. There’s too many times where I’ve been like “wtf man,” and had to try to find a new station because the set starts out well and then they find the most annoying and unlistenable song to play and it lasts 20 minutes. Sometimes it’s a hit, and it’s a really great hour of music. Way more often it’s a miss. Just ended my subscription.
Amazing music curation
AirPlay doesn't work, track playback history is rarely remembered, poor sound quality. Amazing DJ radio shows and mixes with eclectic curation.
Wow!
I love what you guys are doing with this thing! I am a huge radio fan, and it is refreshing to know that live radio is still around. I haven’t had this for very long, but so far so good. You’ve just gained yourselves a long time listener! Thank you so much!
Great radio, buggy app
I love NTS as a radio but they need to fix their app. Connecting to Sonos via Airplay is like playing Russian roulette and when you do succeed it will often break off after 15 minutes.
transformed my music listening
wonderful variety of music but app does not allow me to rewind in the middle of a show to a specific pert of the show. if i want to relisten to an episode ive already played i need to delete the app and redownload
Amazing content AWFUL DESIGN
Anyone know what is even going on with this player?? Downright confounding to use. My wife turns it off because she gets so frustrated trying to navigate. What a hot mess.
Listening history constantly disappear
My listening history clears up almost everyday and it’s ultra annoying.. please fix it ><
A valuable public service
Only been an NTS listener for a few months, but seeing how responsive the devs are to bug reports, seeing those issues addressed in release notes just a few weeks later, shows that they're no less serious about a good UX vs. their commitment to vibrant music culture. I still experience bugs with the schedule scrolling days into the past or future upon opening, and Airplay doesn't work at all on my Android TV - but Chromecast will at least stream good audio, even if you need to manually restart the stream to populate the next show's info. They apparently addressed some of these issues in fixes but I think my devices might be the edge cases. Despite these gripes, I'm more than happy to have recently become an NTS supporter - what a steal for a passionate wealth of diverse, HUMAN-CURATED programs, all accessible within a thoughtful and straightforward interface (desktop too). I jumped ship from Spotify almost a year ago and I have not missed it at all; as a surprise discovery junkie, this is so much better. (Subscribe on desktop so a middleman isn't skimming off the top of your support!)
Very buggy
can't seem to scrub without crashing on macOS Monterey
Amazing service, terrible app
I’ve loved NTS for years, but the app has barely improved when it desperately needs to. It crashes or the sound cuts out, they return repeated shows that you have to scroll through several times to get to new content, they offer no filtering by date (so old shows are basically hidden). Ive reached out to support several times but they seem only to focus on the website. Could be a fantastic application with only a few minor tweaks but they don’t, or wont, do them.
Infinite Mixtapes not working!
I love NTS! But on this app infinite mixtapes just do not load. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling to no avail
Please fix the app
I love NTS. The app is not good. I am constantly restarting the app to finish a 2 hour show. Sound cuts out 90% of the time if you click off the app and return to it.
I didn’t even know half the features…
FM radio is terrible where I live, but NTS is my go-to for interesting new discoveries and timeless but underrated classics. THANK YOU!
Notification spam-o-gram
Under the "My NTS" tab, any action results in being spammed to turn on notifications. Respect my choice to say no!
Love NTS But…
NTS is fantastic. But as others have noticed, the app is a bit glitchy. I can’t for the life of me get the sharing feature to work. I hit the little up arrow and… nothing happens.
Needs alot of work to be great
most episodes dont even play, but other than that it looks to be a great fun way of discovering new music and artists.
Love NTS, terrible Streaming
App is great visually, but streaming audio natively through the app is terrible quality. You can click out to load SoundCloud, but then you can’t see the track list for subscribing users :(
Exceptional experience
I love the I finite mixtapes
Bug Report
Hello Love the app, everything’s great, but I can’t AirPlay NTS 1 or 2 anymore. Mixtapes work, listening back works, just no live radio. Tested with multiple AirPlay sinks. (One star just because bug report)
Love NTS but app crashes and stops playing music constantly
I absolutely looooove NTS radio. BUT - The app works well but it is very rare that i get through a radio show without it crashing or without the sound cutting out, which is only fixed by me closing the app, reopening it, and starting the show over. This is annoying because you have to remember the stopping point of the show when the app crashed, because it won’t let you pick up where you left off on a show when you open it back up(if that makes sense). and since this happens almost every time i use the app, it gets very annoying. I don’t have any of these issues when I listen on my computer/desktop version. Otherwise though, NTS radio is amazing and the app works ok!
App crashes from recent update
Since last update I cannot listen to more than 30 mins without app crashing, sooner if I switch to another app (used to remain playing but now the app closes completely). I’m hoping this can be fixed soon.
App keeps crashing/restarting itself
Not sure whats up lately, but the app just restarts itself nearly every hour and then I have to scoll around trying to find the show I was listening to. Otherwise great.
Nostalgia 🫶🏽
OMG. One of my students recommended this app and I believe, universally, my desires to get away from AI have been answered. Thank you to all the DJs that contribute. Your creativity keeps the world flowing. This app is the flow to the past and present ebbs.
Can’t play mixes from the app
Have no problem with live radio or playing mixes on the web, but the play button for mixes on the app just doesn’t work more than once every time I load it up.
Devs plz read/ debug
This app with the most recent update is unusable. The episode will just stop playing without a prompt if i continue searching through the app. I have to press play and then exit the app for it to play without stopping.
it works, barely
Seems to work fine. Would be great if you could use the global play / pause keys to stop / play audio like you can on iOS.
App often shuts down when I lock my Phone
Since the recent update a few weeks ago, I’ve noticed a new bug whereby the app will shut down/ close, if I lock my phone from home screen. Often I’ll enter the NTS app, read/ pick music etc… then swipe out of the app and then lock my phone. In doing this, it seems to shut the app down and therefore stops the music. If I enter back into the app it seems to have restarted the app. I have noticed this since returning to work in Jan. Pls have a look into it, cheeeeers
Love!!!
The only thing I’d ask is for the app to allow offline downloads for those commutes underground or flights with no wifi. Thank you!
Bug
Works fine on phone, downloaded for my mac and refuses to open/shuts down automatically.
Love NTS but wish we had a couple more features.
For the most part, this app is great! I just wish we had timestamps for tracklists and the ability to save mixes for Offline listening. I would upgrade to supporter for those two features alone!
Technical Issues
Radio episodes keep pausing and restarting while navigating the app. Please fix soon - I love discovering new music with NTS and want to have an easier time using the app
Good music but
Great music! Bummer it does not chromecast. That’s kind of a killer for me
NTS
The best, most interesting music brought to you on a smooth, easy to use, excellent app. I keep it short-cutted on my Home Screen for easy anytime access. Support NTS today!
Love NTS but…
This app destroys my battery. Apple diagnostics is telling me an hour or so of listening is chewing up 60%+ of my battery every day. Not sure if others experience the same.
Please create respectful UX
As a radio station it’s 5/5. As an app it’s absurd how many times it prompts me to enable live notifications with a huge pop up. This is offensive to the user and the practice of UX. Suggestion, if someone chooses “not now”, please hide the notification for a few weeks. It prompts me multiple times a minute if I’m moving around the app.
Chromecast
Please add chromecast support. Would happily pay a for a added tier to subscription to the site for this feature.
Needs Chromecast support
Please support casting via Chromecast.
Great Radio, Amazing App with Frequent Updates
I’ve been an NTS supporter for a few years and it’s been awesome watching the app get steadily better over time as each feature I’ve dreamt of gets added. First with the ability to save individual tracks from a show and now in the latest update with live track listing for pre-recorded shows the NTS app is such a killer way to find and save new music. Thanks to the dev team, you guys are killing it!
looks great, too bad it doesn't work
whenever i try to click on a show the app crashes on my macbook.
Great mixes, missing some key features
Pros: Great mixes and way better than Spotify radio or pandora. Nice knowing these are the work of awesome djs and a good place to find new music. It’s like they do the hard work for you. Best part it’s an easy way to set, sit back and listen/multitask/socialize rather than constantly on your phone picking stuff out (if you use Spotify, Apple or Amazon) Cons: It would be nice to play the mixes, then have the track list time stamped or highlighted so you know which song you are currently listening to. Looking to this app to find new music, and it’s annoying trying to sync up songs or be extra attentive. Also the click and drag play head through mixes is way less precise than SoundCloud. Overall, highly recommend opening up this can of worms. Dope mixes and awesome platform overall. Issues mainly reside in the ux.
For gods sake just let me rewind mixes
I can’t do something as simple as rewinding. I even wrote this in a year 1 year ago and they never changed
Love NTS, but performance problems
NTS and their app are one of the best things around, a joy for music lovers. But the iOS app has huge performance issues. Whenever I use the app, even if I leave it running on the background without listening to music, it drains my battery incredibly fast. In a few hours, more than half my battery is gone.
morning breakfast with nts
love from Cairo yall 💕
error
just stoped working after last update
Best radio station out there!
I started listening to NTS this last year and they have some of the best shows of any internet radio there is. The app is smooth and works extremely well. My only issue is that in a recent update it goes to the schedule when you click on a show that's playing, instead of the show details.
Notifications
A great app but notifications are not working. I have contacted support but no response alas the app only gets 2 stars as, in my view, no one is looking at issues?
Great playlists but app needs work
The music is world class but the app itself is in desperate need of updates and fixes. Importantly, it lacks casting support, including Chromecast, which is a huge bummer— Airplay is clunky and occasionally freezes or turns off on my Roku TV. Makes for a frustrating listening experience. The search function is also poorly implemented. If you search for a show by its name, it will show you that show’s playlists in a seemingly random order with no way to sort by “most recent.”
