What people like
- Developer listens and fixes issues fast.

What they complain about

- Updates can wipe all your settings.
- App navigation feels confusing and clunky.
Awesome 1000% better than Sonos
I used to have a whole house Sonos system, amps streamer, speakers and subs. Then they screwed it up. Today I have a whole house WIIM System. The software in their app works like a dream, easy to understand and easier to use. And best of all their amps and streamers are less expensive. I can stream easily to the whole house and use really great speakers. The other thing about WIIM you can tune the sound to your own taste with EQ and room fit .
Constant Spotify Connect and Cast issues
I am using latest firmware, latest ios, Wiim help for Spotify connect, rebooting etc and I still can’t use my Wiim Ultra with Spotify because it does not show up in spotify devices for playback. I’m really regretting the purchase of this device. Why is this happening?
Not perfect
Cheap though and does its job
Interface is a clustered mess
No way to re-order music services. No way to open up directly into music services. Should have an option to either “remember last” or “open to music services.” Browae list should have favorite apps first and the a list of “other” apps after it. I shouldn’t have to go to “customize” to browse other apps. What if I just want to spontaneously try another service? The way you have it, I have to first go into to customize, turn it on, try it out, may e go back to customize and turn it off and try another. Need a way to hide “My library.” Some of us only use streaming services. If there is a way to make a streaming service a favor, it’s not intuitive. Mono is broken and only streams out of the right channel.
App is a bit confusing
Just not user friendly. Menus are not intuitive, music apps not fluid with WiiM app. Play a song and it won’t let me play it again it jumps to another song. Remote volume control did not work after a couple days. Unplugged and reset and repaired it and still no volume control. The light blinks when I hit the volume buttons up and down but no change in volume. *** Update: Remote works fine, my mistake, I had Volume set to Fixed. I guess I accident turned it on while looking through menus.
Developers listened and now a 5 star app!
I kind of hated the WiiM at first because of some app quirks but the developer reached out and listened to everything I said and the app is now GREAT. Wasn’t sure what route I was going to go with wiring my whole house up with these things, but this solidified my decision and I’m buying several more WiiM products now. Wish more companies were this good!
Can’t set for HiRes easily
User experience is awful. Hours of frustration trying to align settings for HiRes for tagged (badged) music content.
Pretty Good
The MIIN App works pretty good. It has issues letting go of the audio sometimes but I have figured it out. I don’t know whether to give it 5 stars because some of the issues are with other apps or if they could do a little more. Either way, I like it.
Difficult to get hi res stream; usb out not recognized;
Not intuitive or helpful
Subwoofer Callibration no longer works
Doesn’t move on from the ‘stay quiet’ message.
Great performance for an unbeatable price
Simply fantastic for the price what it does
Poor everything
I’ve had the device for a couple years, it constantly wants to upgrade firmware. Lots of hiccups, just very lo-fi and poir quality!
Good App
I really like this one. It’s several music apps rolled up into one, with the added benefit of an equalizer built in. My only complaint is that it can lose wifi connection sometimes but it’s not that often.
Could be much better
Difficult to navigate devices and select music. Poor coordination with sirius xm
Good features but unintuitive navigation
Custom eq is flexible and useful. A landscape option would be easier to use. The room analysis feature - roomfit - could have been helpfully signposted from the eq section. Surprising big jump in volume when changing eq preset after switching from roomfit. Navigation through the app is poor - I only stumbled across roomfit by accident and continually failed to find it again after navigating away. Roomfit process itself quite well implemented - one step after another - but needs a warning to moderate amp volume before running. Room response graph colour choices too similar making graph hard to read. In summary, some significant misses in the UI undermine a well-featured app.
Expected something special & it is!
This is a great app for unifying my listening experience. Works throughout the house. Rejuvenated old gear, easy to set up & learn. It has given me hours of joy & learning
Insecure requires direct connectivity
I have a secure network setup where I don’t trust iot devices on my main network and sequester them to a private network. I allow my main net to talk to iot but not the opposite direction. This app required me to allow bidirectional connection on the same network which ain’t happening. Set the Wiim up and then moved it and uninstalled this insecure app. Lame choices.
Almost perfect
Overall good build quality, sleek design and it disappears for the most part, which is nice. Remote is somewhat over-simplified though. Easy to setup/use, lots of configurable features and settings to adjust according to taste and what equipment you have in the rest of your chain. The Bluetooth streaming is somewhat unreliable with my current setup (no fault of the WiiM) so I use Ethernet hardwire with AirPlay connectivity and there are no issues streaming YouTube Music from a 15Pro iPhone to the WiiM, which has optical out to a Marantz Cinema 60 (Polk Audio RTi-A9, CSi-A6, XT-12). A bit pricy for what it does, but much better than any Bluetooth receiver. Some minor bugs that the developer is addressing. Bottom line: If you need a multi-source input for connectivity, it’s a good solution. I’m very happy with mine and would recommend it.
No iTunes capabilities
Missing a major music service
Buggy
I’ve had to remove and re-add the device multiple times. Painful.
Really smart device
This thing is packed full of technology and super usable for active and passive speakers, along with Bluetooth and other inputs to make it compatible with older and newer devices
Poor functioning
Nowhere to resynch a usb or to reboot the app - only way is to remove entire app and start again
Works well… and can be confusing
This app actually works for sending the audio signal (music) to my home hifi system. And, using it can be confusing… for example you have to be sure WiiM is on the same Wifi network as your device (a laptop in my case). It (the app) also refers to other devices as “mobile device” which can create confusion when using a laptop as a song source. But do like the performance and especially like being able to adjust the sound fidelity.
From good to worst.
Your most recent update deleted 5 months of setup work. All presets are gone. Subscriptions are gone. Can't even save new presets. The EQ setup is gone. Even Sonos was not this bad. You seem to be pushing Tune In which lacks better streaming channels that Mytuner has, which does not work with WiiN. Too late to return to Crutchfield. So all I can do is post bad reviews.
Difficult
Too hard things one wants to adjust. Irritating
Love it!
Wiim exceeded all my expectations, Using on a 1985 Technics SU-V10x Intergrated Amplifer.
Won’t connect to correct network
The app will not connect to my network but says I have 2 different networks… I don’t. I’ve renamed my network, factory reset my WiiM Ultra, rebooted my router, uninstalled and reinstalled WiiM app, used both my phone and my tablet… it sees my Ultra but says I’m on “Other Network” and to rename my network and try again!?!? Even connecting with Ethernet or WiFi does nothing. Hours and no use. Extremely frustrating. No tech support phone… just email. Right… we already know why they say to submit an email. So they never have to answer it. I had high hopes for this WiiM Ultra but I guess what can I expect for $329.00? Garbage that’s what. Back to my Bluesound.
Almost Perfect
I love the app & the WiiM Amp Pro. It has been Amazing in my office. I only use Spotify & YouTube Music — My only complaints are that you can’t queue music in YouTube music through the WiiM app, & unlike Spotify, you can’t queue music in the YouTube Music app either, so you’re stuck selecting every song 1-by-1. Additionally, my YouTube account is broken up into 2 for my 1 email address. My primary is my YouTube channel which has all my latest playlists, while my secondary is from when Google Play Music was a thing. Unfortunately you cannot select a specific sub-account on YouTube Music in the WiiM app, so I’m stuck with my playlists from 2014 unless I recreate my playlists for that specific profile.
ChromeCast Issues
There are a couple music streaming services that aren’t available through WiiM to use WiFi. Initially ChromeCast worked fine but the last couple months it’s been unlistenable. Stays connected to WiiM Ultra but just stops playing. Sometimes the time count continues as if it’s still playing and sometimes it doesn’t. Happens with multiple apps. Wish it would get corrected.
Remote keep disconnecting
I have reset and had remove Ethernet and switch to Bluetooth to get remote to work
Excellent
Love this-user friendly and has allowed to sync every room seamlessly
Totally spoils music when it won’t connect
When it works it’s ok, but missed so many good music moments sitting trying to get the thing to connect.
Brill
Brilliant bit of tech quality is great even for Chinese speakers , the new tech is out doing the Germans and Japanese speakers and Amps
Confusing and very difficult to use
My WiiM Pro Plus connected quite easily originally but now when the playback from my iPhone keeps stopping after about 30 secs, the app is no real use in trying to fix the problem. No obvious way to find the wi-fi connection to check it. Really stuck now, so the £200 device is unusable. Very disappointed. I have a new broadband connection (full fibre) and thus new router. Restarting it and my iPhone has made no difference. So, not only is the Pro Plus no use with AirPlay, but it isn’t possible to connect to it via Bluetooth, only the remote control! I bought it to stream my Apple Music collection to my stereo system, but over £200 later, all I have is a small black box. Total waste of money. Why are things sold before being properly tested?
Originally great. Now not so good.
After two or three months of use, the Wiim app appears to be constantly playing a background stuttering effect. VERY annoying!
Fast Easy Set Up with iOS app
New WiiM Amp Ultra set up Totally easy and Fast up and running in less than 5 minutes!
Room correction software does not function
It is stuck in disabled mode. Tried all workarounds suggested.
Pretty good
Very useful app for many reasons. Allows you to use your WiiM device to its full potential.
No Apple Music Support
How can you ignore one of the big music providers? Makes no sense to me. Good app for radio. Would like to set favourites.
Remote
I’m still learning.
WiiM
Great product
Not really
Got a long way to go. First of all your widget doesn't stay up on my lock screen which is abysmal at best, the fact that I have to go in and unlock my phone every three seconds just to change the song or like the song or dislike this song, not to mention there's no reason I should ever have to turn on my location just to use a device. That's pathetic and intrusive. Thirdly the fact that I can't use the device or link to if my VPN is turned on is a definite dealbreaker and should not be an issue in today's technology date and age. None of my other devices have these types of issues, but yours magically does. So if you could bother fixing the lock screen widget, and get rid of whatever useless reason there is for needing me to turn on my location and update your software so I can use my VPN just to listen to music............That would be great. Thanks.
App fantastic
Does a lot of what I expect.
Works sometimes
Does not work consistently, needs to be constant like a radio station, having issues with mine.
Consistent loss of connectivity
This a great piece of hardware and software but I am consistently and constantly having to turn off my wifi and turn it on again to connect to the Wiim Pro. I don’t have the same issues on my Mac
Perfect app for Wiim streamers
The people at Wiim really put some thought and care into making an app that makes using their streaming devices fun and intuitive while also giving audiophiles the ability to fine tune the sound for their integrated amps. I listen to music even more because of my Wiim amp and app!
How complicated can you make something that should be so simple?
I bought the WiiM pro plus. It worked for a day then just stopped. Help? Forget it. You have to Submit a ticket as if you were in some massive organisation. Apparently I need to split my router’s ssid or something ridiculous. It basically doesn’t work, but there’s loads of workarounds and patches to distract you from the fact that it’s just a rubbish product.
Great product love the interface
Excellent product, easy to use interface. Works great. Love the eq. The room fit is another great plus. Keep up the good work.
I reallly want to love it but…
Saw reviews and took a chance. Very fiddly to get set up. Not intuitive at all. I really only need to use it with a usb hdd in the back with all my music on it, on an occasional basis. Don’t like the fact that there is not an on/off button or a standby that doesn’t allow the thing get really warm. It still doesn’t find the album covers despite me following every convention I can think of, or read about. When I switch on after a couple of weeks it takes forever to find the iPad or router and sometimes have to go back to basics. It looks nice though.
Decent start but needs work
A decent start to the app, but there are some things that still need working. As an example when you go to create a playlist, it says to use the three dots to add songs, but there is no three dots button to use. Even at the time that you create a play list it should prompt as an option to select or scan for music, ideally even by genres. There should also be a more robust troubleshooting system for it. I’ve had it where the amplifier just simply stopped playing music, and I had to reinstall everything from scratch before I Could get it working again.
