New app is awful, old app excellent

I had the pleasure of using the old app, and I can honestly say that the new app comes with an awful UX, less insights, and no new features to compensate for the new awful design. This is not resistance to chance. I’ve been using the new app for a while now and I hate it. I go back to the website to get the old view of my account as it was more insightful. Waste of money on a very bad design.

Okay but with caveats

Fairly good looking app, whats not so good that it still opens “browser like” pages within the app so not really a full app experience, it adds not so enjoyable experience that you need to login again within the “browser tab” window within the app to view stock reviews for example. Overall good but plenty of room to improve things properly.

Upgrade made app worse

App no longer able to aggregate identical investment funds across accounts under ‘view all investments’. Was much more useful before.

★★★☆☆ United Kingdom · v3.3.0 · 6 Oct 2026

Poor Upgrade

Yes it is now a native app rather than website pages, but it is now near as easy to get all the information required. Current fund prices are not shown on the basic page and there is far too much white space with a whole line for an unnecessary arrow. I don’t want to keep clicking a total return or daily button and I don’t want to keep clicking show all investments. Just show me everything on one scrolling screen either for a selected product or for all investments. And when I select all investments I don’t want to see them split by product with colour dots for the accounts. This may work in the development area but it is a poor implementation in the real world.

With every update functionality decreases

Oh dear Fidelity what have you done to the app, on an iPhone 12 it’s now impossible to see the portfolios as a total, it’s clunky and visually difficult to read. Big fail, now easier to login via browser

— DownMTR

★★★☆☆ United Kingdom · v3.2.0 · 10 Sept 2026

Improved, but still not great

It’s now harder to see how much cash you hold across a range of accounts, and also to then trade within those accounts is more cumbersome than in the old version.

— Lark1413

★★★★★ United Kingdom · v3.0.1 · 13 Aug 2026

Love the app. It’s stable, easy to use, and has all the information needed readily available.

With each update this app gets worse than before. It’s so far behind its competitors now.

Split personal and employer pensions

I use to be able to see all my investments and look at the fund detail including my employer pension in one app, now I’m got to add another app to see my employer pension fund, why ?

★★★☆☆ United Kingdom · v3.0.1 · 17 Aug 2026

Poor compared to others

I have used HL, II, Freetrade, Wealthify and Aviva’s investment apps. It doesn’t look like Fidelity have looked at any of these to see what works. My main complaint is constantly having to re-enter my password despite signing up for FaceID. Once in it is hard to easily get a feel for how a stock/fund is performing (see HL for contrast). I have not had to buy or sell investments much, but again this is not intuitive or quick. All in all this is more like a site for someone that trusts an IFA to manage their investments and might want the odd poke around.

Missing

Hi while the app appears to be faster ….where fund summary no longer contains all the data ? And where the export function ..you used to be able to export your holding summary …. Can you alter the way the funds are listed ie alphabetical rather than by value

Why fix what wasn’t broken?

Bit of a shame to see the app updated and made more complicated. I’m sure it will settle down over time but the colour scheme doesn’t even match Fidelity’s website now and seems less intuitive.

Great investments and savings platform

Easy to use, wide choice of where to invest and with wise insights and suggestions from the Fidelity team.

★☆☆☆☆ United Kingdom · v3.3.0 · 28 Sept 2026

Good app. Poor uptime and accuracy in reporting

The reporting on it has not been accurate, with wildly wrong day gains for instance. Very worrying when investment decisions may be based on this. The duration of these errors can be more than a week, and no more-emotive messages were sent to inform customers…..v poor. Good app functionality but let down badly by service availability just when you need it (high volume time). Also no option to buy gilts - which is a gigantic flaw/ommision.

★★★☆☆ United Kingdom · v3.0.1 · 11 Aug 2026

Ads are distracting

The new version is quicker but less usable than the old version. Every page seems to have a distracting blue ad banner. It would be more usable if these could be dismissed. Also these banners mean that there is less useful information displayed on the screen. The biometric login is unreliable and often asks me to enter my password. The text is too small. Feels like I’m better off using the web version just now.

★★★★★ United Kingdom · v3.0.1 · 5 Aug 2026

Ease of use

Most other FS products are veneer thin. Fidelity is deep. Easy to use. Broad choice of funds.

★☆☆☆☆ United Kingdom · v3.3.0 · 28 Sept 2026

New app is rubbish

The old app was clear, clean and informative. Why is there always this move to a trendy style which just fails to deliver, need glasses to read it now, can only see annualised fund returns by going into each holding, bring back the old version

— fellwalker59

★★★☆☆ United Kingdom · v3.0.1 · 4 Aug 2026

New App

Personally, I prefer the previous App. The updated version does not seem to offer any benefits and I can no longer view the amount of cash that I hold, whereas with the previous version I could. Also the new App only shows by default, 3 particular Funds, not of my choice. Why? All in all, a disappointing “upgrade”.

★☆☆☆☆ United Kingdom · v3.2.0 · 7 Sept 2026

Ruined

Previously great app that just worked now has screen layout that is style over substance, doesn’t show all investments on one page any more. And now the app is continuously asking for two factor authentication every time I open it.
