What people like
- Easy to buy tickets in one place.
- Clear navigation helps choose the right ticket.
- Intuitive design saves screen space on phone.
- Ticket checkout process works very well.
What they complain about
- Fares feel too high for scooters.
- Payment often rejects international credit cards.
- Map view lags and drains battery.
- Bus times are often wrong or late.
Does everything.
Irony covers all public transport. It’s clear, intuitive and payment is effortless.
Requires phone number to buy tickets
My data-only eSIM doesn’t offer an international number, so I couldn’t use the app. If you’re visiting Germany from elsewhere, don’t waste your time with this app.
European credit card required to use
I was hoping to use this app while visiting Berlin, but, as of 2026, it only accepts payment from European credit and debit cards. Payment forms linked to overseas financial institutions are NOT accepted.
Does not accept US Credit Cards
“Payment Method Rejected” is the unhelpful error message you will see. Not suitable for visitors.
Wunderbar!
Wunderbar!
Does not work with us cards or banks
Can not add my bus pass from BVG app and could not add my credit cards to Jelbi.
Schnelle Ticketapp
Berlin city trip
The app is so easy to navigate and shows plainly which ticket is which helping you figure out which one you need
Couldn’t buy tickets
No matter what card or payment method, nothing worked. I see a review from 3 years ago with the only solution offered is to reach out to LogPay. Utterly ridiculous. I’m trying to buy train tickets while in the station, not debug an app.
Darkmodus 🙏
Wrong information
The ticket purchase and bike rental work splendid. The bus timetables are completely useless and represent more what the BVG wishes it was than what it actually is. I'm looking at a bus that should come in 6 minutes according to the app, but 28 minutes according to the display. This information is worse than useless. This app makes me hate rhe BVG even more every time I need it.
Impressive
I’m writing this review purely because I was so impressed using this app as a tourist for a week. It merges together all the public transit data you need. Location, arrival times, routes for every mode of transit. Even payment processing so you never have to leave the app. Tip: connect your Jelbi account to PayPal (which is then connected to your credit card) to avoid your CC getting declined which seems to happen to a lot of users (did for me too)
Payment not accepted
Will not accept any payment methods, I tried all my cards and even paypal.
Good app for American visiting Berlin
Credit card validation is a little shaky but besides that is a good app to use!
Options of to show earlier and later departures.
Your app doesn’t have options to show earlier and late departures. This is bad!!!
Best app ever
One of the best apps ever to navigate through Berlin.
Nice, but..
The brainiacs behind this app made it for tourists but you can’t pay unless you use a credit card issued by a bank inside Europe. If you live elsewhere keep looking.
Sometimes the ticket purchase take long
Improve your apis to handle the speed and network latency better.
Habe eigentlich etwas besseres erwartet
Gruß an Marcel
good app but
fares are too high! 3 euro for 2 hours is a scam!!
Not useful app for tourist
Good
Really good, easy to use transport app. I wish scooters and bikes were a little cheaper but overall great!
Terrible app
Way too much information needed for this app and then a painstakingly long process that doesn’t even send me an email after trying many times.
Wow. All travel and tickets in one place
First time I have seen this. I can plan then buy tickets for all travel types in Berlin in one app. Here I go deleting the 5 apps I used to use to book cars and scooters and ride BVG
Waste of time.
Cannot add international address or credit card. Very unfriendly process.
very slow, no SEPA payment option anymore
it's barely usable on an iPhone SE 2020 with battery saving mode enabled
Warum?
Easy to use!
Easy to use and buy tickets for the BVG. I had so many different applications for maps and ticket purchase and now that there is this singular one I can reduce my screen clutter. Danke dir!
Useless due to crap payment service provider
The App would be very nice I think, if BVG would have chosen a different company for the payments. It doesn’t allow Apple Pay but requires me to either store credit card information, my German Bank details or PayPal. Trying all three of them and being rejected by the payment service provider the App is of course useless. I have never encountered such a problem.
Sign up takes ages
Love the idea for this app, but registering was such a slow, endless, tedious and intrusive slog that I just gave up. Why do you need all this info? Why is it all so inefficient and inept?
I could not buy a ticket
Registration process was difficult (too many questions and takes too much time, I missed my train). I did not manage to add my card (Revolut bank), ended up buying ticket from ticket machine. Update: I'm sorry for blaming the developers of the application for that my card was declined, because it's not their fault, but the payment processor. But I still couldn't buy a ticket, don't waste your time, find a ticket machine. PS thank you for contacting me, I don't need help with the app currently, since I was a tourist in Berlin ❤️❤️
Great app
Awesome benefits
An outdated approach to public transport ticketing
Unlike modern public transport ticketing, BVG expects users to predict what their public transport usage will be rather than charging the most appropriate fair based on actual usage. For people who use public transport infrequently or tourists visiting Berlin you could end up paying more than you need. Top this off with the fact that if your phone battery dies, you need to buy another ticket for travel, you’re probably better off buying paper tickets and avoid the risk of getting fined.
Hmmm
Ich kann nicht zahlen. Die App lehnt die Kreditkarte jedes Mal ab.
Could be great
Nice look and feel, however core functionality is slow and laggy: buying/validating/listing tickets sometimes takes multiple minutes!
