Thank you for restoring the game. Making everything the same took the fun out of it. I was about to stop playing, but decided to wait for one more update. It is back to being the game that I love.
I hate the Naval Arena
I cannot win the special game without Auras special blessing with the three helpers and I cannot win any 3 games in a row to achieve the blessing. It’s gotten too hard and frustrating. I feel stupid and I’m tired of being shamed by the game for losing. so I’m done with this game. It was fun when I could win! Good luck!
App isn’t working
I enjoy the game very much. But can’t open the app for last two days. It doesn’t open and says no internet access while other apps are working fine and internet is alright. Then what’s the issue?!

Oh Dear… *Was* a brilliant game…
I have played this game for years, spent a lot of money on ‘extras’ because I enjoyed it so much and, apart from a few niggles with delayed updates for Apple users, it’s been an excellent game playing experience. Until the last update…. A game known for its stunning graphics, beautiful characters, scenery and narrative has been utterly ruined. G5 have changed the beautifully crafted game pieces into horrible, blocky, cheap looking blobs that look as if they belong in a kiddie game. They’ve made the game ugly, difficult to navigate, made completion of the levels harder and less rewarding. To add insult to injury they’ve also removed the daily bonus. It’s made the game borderline unplayable. Every other player I’ve cone across agrees. A beautiful game ruined. No more purchases from me. Update: All credit to G5, following what I suspect were numerous complaints from regular players, they issued an update and removed the hideous graphics. They are now back to the original game pieces and the game looks exactly as it did before. A developer that pays attention to the players and actually responds is rare and appreciated. Well done G5!
New update is horrible
I’ve been playing this game for longer than I’d like to admit. The newest update is horrible. The games are much harder to complete and the rewards get fewer with every update. I think it’s time to say goodbye and find something else to do.

The Update In April Is Horrible
This new update has downgraded the game. I DO NOY like the shapes and cartoonish visuals. Please change it back. Now this game looks like the other simple Jewel games.
New graphics fall short
I wish you hadn’t changed the game graphics. Everything else in the game is beautiful and then you change to these chunky prime color graphics. Feels meh. I’m still playing though.
Boo on latest updates
Not a fan of this last update. The playing board is very cartoony and not aesthetically pleasing at all. If your goal was to attract more 5 year olds to play than mission accomplished.
Disappointing Updates
I’ve loved playing this game daily for many years, developed the town, spent money, and over the last month or so my usage has plummeted. So many changes and nothing for the better. No more stories to tell me why I’m searching for things. Nothing specific to find in new buildings anymore. Coins are pretty much useless. I don’t like the “tasks” layout. Luckily the childish graphics were pulled back out. But really, unless the developers unwind all the changes done this year, my time on this app will have been for naught cuz I’ll be done with it. Stop trying to “fix” something that wasn’t broken to begin with. All that was needed were small tweaks to the monthly events since they just repeated the exact same over and over.

I can’t thank you enough for changing the match-3 items back to the original design. The new design in the last update was so wrong, it didn’t fit the style of the game and was garish and hard to look at. I played less and was ready to quit. So happy! Thank you!

Love this game - and love the developers, who listen, and respond, to fan feedback. It's hard, but fair, with plenty of power-ups to help you through the more difficult levels. It looks lovely, and it has a fun story. My favourite mobile game.
Don’t like the new update
The amazing artwork and complex pieces are gone and it now just feels like candy crush. So disappointed in the change.
Fun game, good graphics.
HATE, HATE, HATE THE ADS THAT POP UP. They make you watch the same exact ad three times before getting to the close button. Even then, you have to stare at a business icon for 18-20 seconds to be able to close that, AND THEN you have to look at ANOTHER ICON FOR 5 MORE before actually getting the reward that was supposed to come after watching

Just as good as the other G5 games. It uses so much imagination as well as graded gameplay.
Hideous Updated Graphics
The latest change to the match 3 items is so garishly childish and hideously designed that it totally ruins what WAS a truly beautiful game. I used to LOVE the game’s unique details and found the Rome version the BEST in the Jewel series…but no more! I can’t even play the puzzles, due to the appallingly simplified and downright ugly graphic changes. I won’t be playing or spending any $$$ on this destroyed game. UGH.

Love this game, but do not like the latest update that made icons the same for all games. They are very cartoonish.

New graphics are horrendous
I have played jewels of Rome for years, but they recently changed to some terrible low-res cartoonish graphics that are positively nauseating. I think I’m bowing out and searching for a different game.
Missing the narrative
I like the new updates, but I miss not getting a bit of narrative with each item. I now know nothing about what I’m collecting and why.
The programmers have taken away what sets the game apart
I have played this game for years and have always enjoyed the characters, the stories and the satisfaction of achieving the goals. But now they have taken away the characters’ voices, their names and most of the stories. I might as well be playing Candy Crush.
I used to love playing this game when it first came out, now it’s all about spending money.
But what even worse you work so hard to finish a level, but if you lose the next level, you lose both levels. That’s the worst, you took the fun away from game.
Not what it used to be to be.
The new update has made it harder for the union to reach the goal. My union has lost 2 members this past week. They going to other games. Not fun any more.
Changes in the new event
You have turned a really great game into a childish wannabe game. I have played this since it came out 7 years ago and looked forward to the new version every month. Now you don’t even update until part way into the new month. Your latest changes to the tile style and colors make it look like a kiddie game. I have gotten past the CONSTANT buy more adds, but now I can’t play for more than an hour before I have to quit, my eyes just can’t do it. Please, go back to the original design of the tiles before you lose a whole lot of ADULTS who have enjoyed the game until now.
Awful update!
Devs, please put the number of turns and the items found back at the top of the screen. This little tiny side box is terrible and how does one see the collection items acquired? The side box is too small and it’s annoying to have to try to squint to make out the icons. Just put it back.
Good Game, Lousy Customer Service
I’ve had a few issues that I’ve raised to customer service and to say it’s lacking is generous. They ask for lots of unnecessary information and then you don’t hear back for days, and if you do, they’re just asking for more unnecessary info that you probably don’t have any longer. I’ve been waiting for a billing resolution for a few weeks now and I don’t expect to hear anything. I had an issue on 2 games, I was completely frozen and it took 2 weeks for them to finally respond with a solution. If you have an issue, I wish you luck getting a resolution!

Best match 3 game ever
The board playing pieces are interesting, colorful, and add variety and spice, keeping match three from becoming tedious. The city that you built is fantastic with great detail. It’s really fun to mark accomplishments with adding on to a building and see it evolve. There is so much to this game that you don’t see in a typical match three. If you think match three is boring, I recommend you try this one and you’ll be hooked

Where are the jewels?!!,
The game is ruined there are only flat ugly objects! All the pretty jewels are gone!!! Why did you change it? It’s so ugly and flat! It was bad enough you took all the Latin and Greek quotes out but now the graphics too? Low quality basic graphics so horrible, I have to say goodbye and stop playing it I just can’t stand how it looks
Disappointed
I went to buy some tools and the new prices are massively inflated. I like to get the extra turns. Ten extra turn tools cost 28 rubies yesterday and is now 40 rubies !!! Ten hammers went from 21 rubies to 30 overnight. And the coins are now virtually useless. The one tool that could be purchased with coins now also requires rubies. So, about the only use for coins will be unlocking the one new location monthly. Bring back the old prices! Please, make it possible to buy the whirlwind tool with coins once again. That would be helpful. Also, the gecko nets are virtually useless and the most frequently given tool. I have hundreds! It would be nice to be able to trade them for something useful. I’ll trade 50 gecko nets for one hammer!
Free jewels??
With this latest update, yesterday I collected the free jewels for watching videos, for the first time in over a week! Today, there’s no way to collect jewels. What is going on with this game? Update: 11/4/2025 There are no free jewels to collect with the latest version. Before you could collect 4 crystals/jewels every 12 hours. So disappointed! Don’t bother playing this game. Clearly, they don’t know what they are doing or aren’t communicating these changes.
Good but getting ridiculous
I have been playing this game for several years( up to level 320) and it has been a fantastic game with good graphics design but it is getting ridiculous as the option of buying tools “ shoes” for extra steps is no longer available. IF SO, only 1 shoe for first round or then a combination of 1 shoe and additional other tools ( jupiter’s lightning or colour crystals) being selected by game for 2nd round and so on. I am being forced to buy unwanted additional tools in order to continue with the quest while I need ONLY shoes and already have lots of other tools available in my account. This really let me down and a big NO longer interested in game at all. It is now also becoming repetitive tasks for the events only.. I am never interested in union games as there are lots of quests happening at the same time.

I really enjoy this game. However, it’s very frustrating when it keeps freezing and crashing.
Used to be awesome but not anymore…
This used to be a great game - fun and challenging but achievable - not anymore unfortunately. The levels are so difficult that it becomes tedious playing knowing that you won’t be able to complete them. We had video ads to watch in order to be able to get jewels to help complete levels but these don’t work anymore - reported to support and done all troubleshooting yet no resolution. The monster challenges used to be really fun but they have massively increased the difficulty so these have also become just boring. Such a shame as it used to be a brilliant game
Great …… but….
This would be a fantastic game but the problem that it has is that there is too much going on! The mantra “less is more” comes to mind. The brain is bombarded by plot lines , sub plot lines and even more plot lines that it’s difficult to know which plot line you are actually following! A single thread would make this game more than fantastic and worth more than 5 stars. In the end I just couldn’t be arsed to read the commentaries as they totally bewildered me and were going off into too many tangents. Developers note…. LESS IS MORE… then you would have a game worth playing!
