Easy and Essential
We tried the free version of this app first as we set off to travel the world full time as retirees. Now we use the paid version and find it worth the small annual cost. Since a phone is never far, we find it easy to document our spending and keep track of how well we are staying in budget. A big plus is the excellent app support when we have questions not answered by the support page. Love the stats and charts!
Worthless to pay for
After paying for premium, good luck trying to access, and you will need even more luck trying to get any support from this company. Stick with the free version only. I paid for the subscription, cannot access, cannot get technical support and of course cannot get a refund.
So Far So Good with a few caveats
I just signed up for this app and promptly entered 3 upcoming trips, upon which I realized I needed to shell out the $25 annual rate to log multiple trips. I liked it well enough and can see the value already that I took the unusual step of agreeing to an annual subscription. Suggestions for the developers - when entering the beginning and end date of hotel stays, you should account for the check out date when calculating the cost per night. For example a stay of 10/20-10/25 is really only 5 nights but your app calculates it as 6, so I need to enter 10/20-10/24 so that it calculates the per night cost over 5 nights. Also, I initially accidentally plugged in August dates even though I had told the app my trip was in October. It would be nice if App automatically flips to the October calendar so the costs are more easily tied to the trip dates. Lastly (for now) I am logging travel with my spouse. It would be nice if the app asked how many travelers to show the per-person cost. I will use this in conjunction with SplitWise which I used to track and fairly allocate costs when traveling with larger groups of friends.
USD to Euro conversion is wrong
App seems like a great tool but having the most updated conversion rate (in this case USD > EUR) is key. Without it, the app is almost useless
Please bring the old layout back
I use the app every day on my travels, but since the latest update, the layout is so confusing. The old one was much better; you had the whole list of entries right in front of you and didn't have to tap on each day. Scrolling through the days in the new view is also generally very confusing. My suggestion is to add an option in the settings to switch between the new and old layout.
Add support with MacOS/Windows!!!
This app is good and I enjoy using it. I do believe if the developers can make this compatible on MacOS and/or Windows, this app will be next level. If this happens, 100% I will buy the full version.
New format

One of the better apps, UI could use improvement
I liked it enough to pay for it to use on two trips. There a few UI issues that could be streamlined to make adding expenses and choosing categories faster. And is AI categorization in the works?
Too much work
I was in Cambodia spending in US $ but TravelSpend would only let me input in local Riel currency. So I had to convert every purchase in US$ to Riel. I gave up after 2 days.
App was really good up until the recent update
The old layout was flawless and easy to read. It broke down expenses per day right on the main screen with headings to click on along the bottom to flip between different pages. But now it’s all crammed onto one page, making it look messy.
Paid customer, issue resolved
Update: support responses went to spam. I’ve since gotten problem resolved. The problem when on cruise ship is location based currency doesn’t work. I’ve been happy with the app for a couple of years. This week the app is CRASHING and I have sent messages for the past 4 days to the contact email with no response. I am a paid subscriber and would expect better than this. I am using iOS 26.1 and latest app update. Have restarted device. Super disappointed on lack of customer support.
Not working
Can’t get past the first screen. Too bad. I really wanted to use this app.
The new update ruined it…
The older version was simple, and everything was concentrated in the main page. The new update divided everything, and put irrelevant data at the home page. Really sad for it…

J’ouvre l’application et il est écrit « Donne ton 1ère dépense », grosse erreur de français (et de traduction) ici, le déterminant (masculin) est mal accordé au nom qui est féminin. De plus, « 1ère » écrit en forme contractée ne fait pas professionnel, vous voudriez plutôt dire « première ». Sinon l’application est très utile!
Pretty good new format!
Edit 10/6/25: Thanks for replying and making the changes. While I still have to go to another screen to see the list of daily expenses, this change works and I’ll get comfortable with it. Thank you. (Original review below.) Premium subscriber here. Please change back the home screen. I really like seeing the days of the week on the home screen, not having to tap through to another screen. It’s a PITA! Thank you.

Can’t access data for past trips
I understand not being able to edit more than one trip at a time, but it won’t even tell you how much you spent on prior trips unless you have premium - it just deletes the data. Made it pretty unusable for a multi country SE asia trip unless you edit it to all be one trip, and then the data is totally muddled and useless.

There was an issue recently, where the red + sign went missing, and I was no longer able to add expenses. I sent some feedback to the developer, and they fixed this issue quickly and reached out to me to share the update. I really appreciate the responsiveness of this app developer. Email mining, apparently?
Set up an account to test out this app. Quickly didn’t like it. Went to delete the account. It won’t enable the Delete button. Also has no Help item for deleting the account. I’ll give them a couple weeks to fix that issue and then I’ll delete the app. Fortunately, don’t have to rely on them for that. 👍

Not useful for me
2 drawbacks make the app not useful for me. 1. Free version doesn’t allow to manage 2 trips simultaneously (I don’t start to pay before working with free version for some time). I have one planned trip in July and another in October. To manage the second I was forced to download another app. 2. No export to excel in the free version. I probably will use excel directly instead of an app. The good thing in the app is automatic currency conversion.

Man kann nur eine Reise aktiv verwalten
An sich finde ich die App super, jedoch kann man nur eine Reise aktiv verwalten, sobald man eine zweite erstellt wird die erste Reise deaktiviert und man kann die Daten nicht mehr einsehen. Das ist leider auch der Grund weshalb ich die App nicht mehr nutzen werde, obwohl sie vom Prinzip her super ist… die Premiumversion ist mir definitiv zu teuer, um mehrere Reisen verwalten zu können.

What a waste. I’m trying to compare to Tripcoin and the first thing I do is go to enter my first receipt and you have to pay. You would be smart to allow full access for a few days.
Tolle App, aber…
… mir fehlt, dass man die Kategorien nicht schon direkt mit einem Budget versehen kann. Das würde die Übersicht nochmal sehr erleichtern, da man nicht alle Budgets immer im Kopf hat und ein switchen zwischen verschiedenen Apps auch nicht so super ist. Aber außer diese Kleinigkeit, super App!
Leider sehr buggy bei Kostenaufteilung
Zuerst hätte ich die App uneingeschränkt empfohlen. Die Umrechnung in die Heimatwährung ist sehr praktisch, die Kategorien ergeben auch Sinn. Leider ist sie total unhandlich, sobald man weitere Personen zur Kostenaufteilung einladen will: plötzlich wird zwischen 3 Personen aufgeteilt statt 2, ändern kann ich die Namen nicht mehr und ich tauche 2x als „anonymous“ auf. Nach 4 Tagen immer noch keine Antwort vom Support erhalten! Ich hätte die premium Version bezahlt, aber so werde ich die App wohl löschen.
Nice App but improvable
I really love the app. I am just missing some quality of life improvements. It would be nice if pressing the comma button without a leading number, that the app puts a 0, into the amount field. The amount input field is also not recognising keyboard inputs if I am using a separate keyboard on the ipad or using the app on a mac. The premium features are also too expensive!
Easy to use and great app support
I got the paid version. It’s easy to use and I can enter how much I spent right then and it made tracking my spending every trip so much easier. I recently changed my phone and didn’t realize I never logged in when I made the purchase. Jonas helped me with finding my trips spending back and connected them with the email of my choice (different from my Apple ID). Thank you!!!
Disappointed
Downloaded the trial to test it out and input my travel expenses and all my data disappeared without any warning. Unless you want to pay $30+, don’t bother downloading.

I rarely pay for an app, but this has been great. Missing a few simple features that would make it awesome.
Freezing
Cannot say if it is good or not because I did one entry… and if I want to do anything else, I cannot as the application is frozen.. I can use my iPad for any other application, but this one.

An sich top, würde gerade wegen bestimmten Funktionen auch die Premium-Version kaufen, aber der Preis lebenslang ist wirklich viel zu hoch.
Wish they made a monthly budgeting app
So many budgeting apps have WAY too many features. I liked using TravelSpend on vacation so much that I started using it and making each month into a “trip” so I could track my expenses without something as unwieldy or stressful as YNAB. Please, please make a monthly spending skin of this app, with maybe fewer travel related icons and more monthly expense ones like daycare, house/car/health insurance, and medical!
Good, but no ability to duplicate a trip…
This app is good! I used it on my honeymoon and it helped us stay on budget. My husband and I are moving overseas on an annual budget. I inputted our monthly income into various income categories for one month and thought that I could just duplicate it quickly, but found out that I can’t. That means I’ll have to manually enter each income category…this is a dealbreaker unfortunately… Please add this feature :(

The group expenses, splits, owing money to friends, these are basic functions that many applications like splitwise are giving for free And you’re charging me for that? Sorry uninstalling now. Your good feature is you’re capturing lot of details but i have to pay to simply view that.
Great app for travel budget, but want to export my information
I’m think the app is really good and user friendly. BUT - I found it hard to believe that I need to have the premium version in order to export MY data to csv easily.

Bought the pro
Purchased the pro version and when adding expenses to any trip the app just completely shuts down every time. Trail Wallet is a much better app and 100% free with no ads. Wasted my money, don’t waste yours on this.
Tolle App, aber ein paar Funktionen wären wünschenswert!
Ich vergebe der App 4 Sterne, da zwei Dinge ein echt super Feature wären. Man kann Bargeld auswählen, jedoch wäre es toll, wenn man ein virtuelles Portmonnaie hätte und den genauen Betrag in Fremd- und Eigenwährung eingeben könnte. Denn so hat man zu 100% die richtigen Kosten, das sich der Kurs ja immer ändert. Zusätzlich wäre es eine gute Idee bei Standortaktivität, die passende Währung direkt anzeigen zu lassen 👍 Aber sonst bin ich voll zufrieden, klasse Möglichkeiten, vor allem in der Vollversion!

Eigentlich brauche ich sowas ja nicht. Habe ich irgendwie dann schon so im Griff. Und alles vorausbuchen ist so nervig dass ich es nur im Nachhinein nutze. Als Erinnerung.
