One of the Best places to Experience Humanity
I got workaway and within a week i met my first host by complete fate on a ferry to the island they live on before they even saw my text, they were able to connect me with more host in my next journey and then again and so forth. Workaway is great to network meet new people and make new connections.

I set my profile up completely and the application still won’t work. What am I missing???

Die App ist genau wie die Website sehr zu empfehlen, nur eine kleine Sache: Am iPad gibt es die App nicht im Querformat wie die Website, sondern nur als hochskalierte Handyversion. Könntet ihr Querformat hinzufügen?
Hard to find host
I couldn’t get a single place to go to the hosts don’t respond at all I have applied to a lot a barely got few replies
annoying spam filter
The spam filter is not necessary and often quite annoying. You can read all the descriptions of profiles you want, you’re still the same person who’s probably looking for about the same type of work in the same region, so really changing the message every time is not necessary, especially since so often it won’t even be answered. Otherwise, the app is quite easy to use and has a nice concept.
I'm 56 and so excited to find this app!
I'm almost as excited to find this app as I am finding the Workaway.info website! It's such a wonderful opportunity, to work 5 hours/day and be able to stay and eat in Europe (or elsewhere), for free! I would've died and gone to heaven to have had such an opportunity in my 20s!! Young people these days have many issues & battles... but they're also blessed with amazing opportunities like this! On a side note, going on the app, where there are no ads!
Good Company, Terrible App
The app is a buggy, laggy mess. Unable to scroll most of the time and other times it fails to load. For as much money this company brings in, you would think they would at least spend some money making the app halfway decent. Overall, a terrible app experience.
Simply need to add the family dot.
As me and my family are trying to use this. I have to go to the website to see if there’s a tick or not in the can host family’s box. I have put the filter on but it’s not perfect. Thanks. Hope this feels like a “oh yeah” instead of a “oh how annoying was that guy” anyway, maybe I haven’t gone through the settings.

SO Glitchy!
For a paid membership, I’m shocked this app is so slow and glitchy. It regularly shuts down or takes ages to open. Sometimes it doesn’t open at all and I have to delete and redownload the app. TERRIBLE. But a good idea if it worked.

Die App ist super, sehr übersichtlich und schön gestaltet. Sie wird auch immer aktuell gehalten. Mir persönlich fehlt ein bisschen die Möglichkeit mein Profil im Detail zu bearbeiten, das funktioniert leider nur über die Homepage. Sonst tip top.
Decent platform, dysfunctional app
Workaway is a good service to find volunteering gigs abroad. However the app has been barely working for me for the last couple months. The only reason I am writing this review is that the tech support would start fixing the app.
App problems
For a number of years I have had problems with the app and no matter what is done to rectify this it constantly crashes.

I have found amazing volunteer opportunities with free accommodation, which have been great learning experiences. Very grateful for Workaway and would recommend it to any budget traveler or a person looking to gain more hands-on experience in a field they’re interested in!

Hii I love the community! Please dont make it more expensive, but rather cheaper. Please consider climate change more. BUG: -In IOS if you swipe down on Homescreen and look for "Workaway" you cant find the App. -Also in a Workaway Host side, you cant show the Map. Kind regards
Terrible ID verification system
I’ve been looking for opportunities farther than a month out and everything’s full. Hosts who have profiles saying they have availability all text back saying they’re full. The ID verification system wouldn’t accept my passport nor my license. It is frustrating and feels futile. I wish I hadn’t paid the $60 for us to use this app. It’s a nice idea though.
Improve app!!
The idea and everything is great and I found many cool places through workaway but PLEASE update the app, I have it since 2 years and it lacks since then - some days I can not even use the app because it freezes or doesnt even open and the screen stays white. This is a request to the tech team.
Great App BUT…
Great App but instead of connecting you to the website when clicking on menus, build it into the app so it doesnt always refer you to another webpage to the certain menu.

I love using Workaway to find places to travel, but the app is really bad. It’s super frustrating to use. It has a ton of glitches, bad filters for looking for places and overall hard to use.
App needs work
Considering it’s a paid service, and the app is the main way to be in touch, the app could be less slow and more intuitive with the search functions/browsing/editing your own profile and even something as simple as being able to screen rotate

Erased my account and won’t respond.
I’ve had this for a few months now. I haven’t gone on my trip yet and am still looking for a place. I had a position lined up, all was well, and they suddenly dropped me. I was polite, responded to all questions, and they didn’t give any indication there was an issue before I received a very unpleasant message from them. I’ve never even met these people. But now my account is gone. There has been no response from Workaway. It looks like they just erased my account. I did actually pay for this. I believe the people I was to stay with had something come up, and rather than taking the hit, got me banned.
App very slow but idea and function very nice
Workaway has been a advantage to my travel time although the app always makes trouble :/ that's why I give this app 4 stars instead of 5. hopefully they work on it since I pay money to use workaway.

Work away blocked my account because they said I sent to many messages that was spam , Work Away is a rip off and will not be good … until their app Works
App needs work
The service may be good, I don’t know, but the app has serious problems. Often it crashes, sometimes it never starts, but just hangs. If it starts, the text is hard to read. People who are visually impaired may not be able to read it at all.
Room for improvement
This app could be so great and a lot more social for travellers - the buddy up idea is good but you should be able to filter by countries and interests otherwise it’s pretty useless. I think it’s cool for example that you can include LGBT as an interest as it’s quite hard to find other queer travellers this would be a great way to be able to connect with other people travelling who come from a similar community and have similar interests but since you can’t filter buddy ups or works aways by interest this is somewhat defunct!

The helpdesk never responds
I used this platform for a few years, traveling all over the world. They are basically just out for your money., they will not help you with any new issues or address your concerns.
Easy to Communicate but Display not that nice
Compared to WorldPackers app the display is pretty unappealing, should be higher standards on hosts to post on photos that actually represent what their place looks like. Other than that it’s very handy 👍

The app is awful it does not remember my login details on any of my Apple devi way and quite a few bugs have to delete it might as well use the browser instead less headache, Just to be clear Workaway is a fantastic service the app is just not up to scratch yet.

Host Don’t Download App
I have hosted several workers and this app is meant for work in exchange for stay and exploring, well this app does not let host get help in small businesses it will cancel your profile and tell you to hire locally, this is a workaway app isn’t, it has the word work in their name, so pls hosts with Businesses to run avoid making a profile on this nonsense app and workers don’t look for work here you will not get paid for any host on here. Waste of time effort and money for workers. Move to work packers they know what they are doing

Great scope, some bugs
I love the Workaway idea and the site delivers the scope. There are 2 main issues we experienced with the app: 1. It takes extremely long (sometimes more than 30 minutes) to turn on / load - so it’s easier to use the website. 2. On the app you can’t filter the minimum / required stay by hosts, which would be very important so we don’t need to read through plenty of posts that aren’t relevant as we can’t stay for as long as they expect it. The rest is great! Hope this helps!

Good, but.....
I have this app downloaded on my iPhone as well as my iPad Pro. My only critical feedback is that the App does not rotate from Portrait to Landscape with the rotation of the device. I am a vision impaired person and the ability to better see, type on my iPad is compromised by the lack of this particular feature. Is this capability something that can be added? I would rate this at 5 stars if it was. Thanks!
Love the Organization But Not the App
Needs improvement. Trying to select hosts, links not working. Should be able to find someone in your area as a traveling buddy. Otherwise what’s the point?

A traves de workaway podes alojarte en muchas partes del mundo mediante intercambio de trabajo, lo que es una excelente idea y maravillosa herramienta. Igualmente, creo que podrian exigir mas especificidad sobre el tipo y las horas de trabajo que pide cada anfitrion, asi como lo que ofrece respecto de comida, alojamiento y tiempo libre. Muchos anfitriones se vuelven muy exigentes y se olvidan de que estan alojando unx voluntarix, no unx empleadx con goce de sueldo. Tambien con respecto a algo mas urgente, cuando se le envia un mensaje a unx anfitrionx, desde el mismo mensaje deberia ser posible redirigirse a la solicitud, asi podemos recordar con quien estamos hablando. Cuando alguien que viaja se quiere poner en contacto don dos o tres personas que son anfitrionas en el lugar de destino, se olvida de quien representa qué lugar, y se genera mucha confusion. Gracias.
