I have used this app since it came out and they were doing little tweaks to make it better and better and it has become a go to when I travel. I have tried all kinds of travel apps out of curiosity. But this one is by far the best platform with the kindest developers. Would highly recommend.š

Have met some of my best friends on this app.
Met one of my best friends 2 years ago on this app. We now work for a foundation and travel the world documenting the foundations efforts in providing aid to communities around the world. Thanks trip bff! Of recent the changes to the interface have really limited the ability to connect with others however. For instance the alterations to the group plans portion of the app I can no longer join a āCentral Americaā group chat because if the person who made it did so in Panama and Iām now in Nicaragua even though the group is made for all of Central America it wonāt let me join. Itās a lot tougher to get connected to people unless theyāre actively Right where you are, but where I found this app worked best was reaching out to others in advance weād get acquainted and make plans to meet when we eventually traveled to the destination a couple days weeks or months later. Also yall are missing Eswatini on the country counter and have East timor/timor leste twice haha

I met one of my ultimate best friends on this app (purely by chance, not because the app was particularly great). many of the features are exclusive to paying members, and while this is not necessarily terrible as many apps must do this, it does make it much less usable. I donāt want the majority of notifications/friend requests I receive from this app to be from older men. this alone drives down my engagement on this app by 85%, and Iām sure the majority of women on this app feel the same way. The two women I did manage to meet from this app agreed to this themselves. The least this app can do is allow everyone to filter based on age and gender. even these are paid features! And the age range choices are quite large.

I love the app, but with the amount of ppl that see my profile and close radius, which Iām not sure how specific it showsā¦ I have to take out my picture out and change my name when I donāt travel to feel safe because thereās no option that I see here to turn off my location completely while home.

Weird update
I downloaded this app almost 2 years ago and it led to an amazing adventure with a friend I never would have met otherwise. However this new update I donāt like at all. When you have to filter by city and canāt just see all different groups people are making. I was previously in a girls travel group where people from all over the world would message where whey were planning to go and people would either join the trip or people who lived there would offer to meet up and thatās not available anymore. Iām not sure what they were going for but I wouldnāt recommend it anymore.

I downloaded this app for a trip that i went on to meet people, and while i didnāt really end up using it, i kept the app downloaded making sure my location services were OFF. Today, out of nowhere, some random man messaged me asking if i was in my own city. I double checked and my location services were still off and there was no information on my profile to indicate where i am from. HOW DID HE KNOW? I immediately deleted my account and this app, and I feel really creeped out.

I was looking forward to making new friends in Europe. I downloaded this app to create new connections as I recently came across. I found my account was suspended for no reason it said it would process for 24 hours to decide if my account should maintain suspended itās been three days since that happened.. I emailed their support team with no answer as if I have been ghosted really disappointed

As someone whoās been searching for travel partner/ friends to go travelling or on holidays with , I am so glad i found this app. Itās already got quite a few travellers from all over the world on there and it will continue to grow as time goes on too. However, there are some things I would suggest to make the app even better and safer to use! - The profile function is good, but i think people verifying themselves via their passport or some form of ID would feel even safer, as for people travelling solo and meeting strangers in different countries this could be more reassuring and a lot safer for everyone. - A female / male preference option , a bit like tinder so our profiles donāt appear for the other gender if preferred that way, because i seem to keep getting messages from males even when my bio states Iām looking for females travellers and some men seem to use this a dating site rather than searching for travel partners, all well and good just ignoring them but when my other social medias are linked to my profile , they seem to try following me on there too which leaves me no option but to block them unfortunately. - A push notifications option would be amazing because every individual notification spam my notification bar almost everyday and sometimes i consider deleting the app for the meantime , as thereās no option to turn these off or mute chats. - I would also suggest making the subscription maybe monthly , as again it could be too much commitment to pay for a year as most people wouldnāt travel for the entire year to make the most most of their subscription. -More travel options could be added , such as ācity breaksā , āfestivalsā , ārelaxing holidaysā etc other than that i have found the app quite easy to use, i managed to book a couple of girls holidays through this app and have met a bunch of lovely people who are willing to travel and meet up. really enjoying using this app so far.

Either not designed for age, or it just doesnāt work.
Iām giving this 2/5 on the precipice that it works for those who are in their early 20ās, rather than, early 30ās or up. Iām 33, and I do a lot of solo travel. I usually meet people at bars, tours and other in person activities. However, I thought Iād try it on this long trip through New Zealand. Right from the beginning it asks for a sub base. Iām fine with that, but would like to try it before I buy it. The free option is extremely limited, and unsure if itās accurate, considering it would show blurred profiles, saying people near me, but I donāt believe it considering the same profile is following my entire pathway. The odds are lows in my opinion. I messaged one person, but never heard back, and I donāt blame her. She was 22? I think? But she was one of 5 others I could message on the free version of the app, and the other 4 were women 18-19 years old. And to my last point, unsure again if itās just coincidence but I was only be shown women. Iām cool with meeting up with women, I understand, and had no intention of using this as a dating app. However, big however, is Iām a 33 year old male. I doubt a 20 year old woman would want to go and explore with someone with that age difference, also, by themself. Therefore, my conclusion, I think it might be a scam app, or it could just be heavily towards teens and younger 20ās. It could also be there are very few people of my age group. Also, the free version is so limiting you canāt really write a review appropriately. Hence, Iām giving the benefit of the doubt with 2/5. Cheers.
The sought after review
This app is actually a good idea. The interface is easy to use and thereās definately a market for it. Unfortunately, from my experience, the owners are more bothered about getting an App Store review than actually achieving their business goal of helping and encouraging travellers to meet. I understand the benefits of gathering good reviews but the consistent and constant in-app and push notifications have ruined the product enough for me to cancel my subscription after one month and turn off notifcations which to be honest, destorys the app entirely as now I donāt know if/when people are communicating with me. This all might seem petty but when youāre travelling on your own and receive a notification from this app, psycologically you feel hopeful ā āsomeone wants to speakt to meā. 9 times out of 10 itās just another push for the user to complete a request theyāve already said no to multiple times. In my opinion, you should be asking for reviews once the user completes a conversation or attends an event. In another context, Tinder wouldnāt ask you to review them if you hadnāt found a match. The experience here begins once the user uses the app as you intended for the them to use it, not when they open it or havenāt opened it in a number of days. Anyway, I donāt like writing negative reviews but you did ask about eight times for me to leave one. Here it is and I hope it helps. P.S. I must say and this is just an opinion, it does appear that there could be fake accounts on this to make it seem more popular and ābusyā. There are a suspicious number of profiles with the exact same bio.

Lovely app but could use some improvements
Iāve been using tripbff for a couple months now, as a solo traveller and entrepreneur, it is very useful to connect with other travellers, go on trips and meet new people safely. I would suggest the app to be more specific in terms of locations - Hong Kong isnāt an option for example. If there was a filter for the āinterestsā and a search bar for the posts, that would be most useful
Paywall and notifications
Overall, the concept of the app is a good idea. The thing that bothered me and why Iāve uninstalled is because thereās apparently nearby people that viewed my profile which isnāt true. Thereās a paywall to see this which is smart marketing but receiving spam notifications is frustrating and makes the app feel fake.

Downloaded this app to see if I could make a few friendsā¦ unfortunately after trying and trying it kinda feels like those online dating apps that gets nowhere. Maybe thatās just my luck with these kinds of apps but I have given up on this one. The user interface is very friendly and easy to navigate but I just donāt see this app very productive.

Have to pay to join groups outside of your local area
I got this app in the beginning when I could join groups out of the country for free and plan trips with people but now everything is behind a paywall. I canāt even join groups in the country I plan to visit without paying. Also I donāt want creepy older men to be able to contact me but I have to pay to filter preferences in my settings. Not worth it.

Really good app been using for a while now to interact with others around the world. Recently just upgraded the iPhone and it is no longer working on this version? Unsure if the app needs to be updated to work on IPhone 15? Really good app and worth the download hopefully the app will soon be back up and running for me so I can continue to speak to others around the world.

A great start, made for backpackers
The concept and overall delivery of the app is not bad. Having just downloaded it these are my main thoughts: - The app has crashed twice in the 30 minutes Iāve been using it. It is also a bit rough as you scroll - The profile function is great. A bit like Bumble BFF. Gives you a good idea of the person behind a trip proposal and what their travel priorities are - It is clearly designed for travellers in their early 20s, even if it doesnāt say that. The āinterestā section is fairly limited. I would have selected options like ācity break,ā āculture and history,ā āsightseeing,ā ābars and restaurants,ā and āday tripsā but the options are geared towards backpackers (eg, au pair, adventure, camping, cruise, nightlife). - It would be good to see external activities and events (like concerts or festivals) for people who are planning to attend and would like to connect with others already going.
