BEST APP EVER!
This is the best app ever to use. There’s just one problem..you can publish your book if you want. But if you try to add a cover it says you have to pay!? That’s kinda unfair. But other than that I lover the app.
Can’t use without Wi-Fi
Sucks unless I have Wi-Fi I can’t use. Maybe I want to write when there is no cell service or Wi-Fi. But no you can’t even open the app. It sucks.
Disappearing Content [Fixed]
The issue was due to a ui quirk that caused me to toggle an archive function on accident. One pointed out I was able to re-enable the lost content.
Well Organized But Misleading
The app is somewhat organized but the pictures and description are a bit misleading. It says nowhere that we’d have to pay for making more characters, more chapters, etc. All those things should be free in some way.
Too many premium features
Decent app but has way too many basic features (multiple stories, organizer, etc.) that are reserved for premium users.
Good app
Perfect app! Thank you!
Subscription
I recently log back in after losing all of my previous work now I have upgraded to Author and the features are still locked
Good app but please fix the bug
Been using my story for years and Usually the app is running well but recently I had a very big bug when I go to log in using my email and password the screen just freezes nothing really works I’ve tried deleting it and re downloading it but to no avail it doesn’t work and it’s driving me nuts other’s than this huge bug keeping my from my fanfiction the app’s amazing but please help get rid of the bug I’m going crazy not being able to read my work so yeah without all the bugs the apps one of the best writing tools I’ve got totally recommend.
Half the time, my stuff doesn’t save
It’s very frustrating spending time writing something out, hitting the save button multiple times, then bringing it back up and everything I just did the last two hours is gone.
Pretty good
Pretty good but it makes you pay if you want to use extra features, write more than one book, or even add a cover to your book, which it conveniently doesn’t mention above.
PERFECT APP
This is a great app for writers, it has a whole lot of features, this has been my favorite writing app for six years, I’m currently at 34 books. I have requested many things in my reviews for updates, and then an update comes out with those things 1-2 months later, this app can do no wrong ever, and it is now the only writing app completely free of AI and I hope it stays that way🫶 The app doesn’t deserve the hate reviews from a small bug, all you have to do is mention the problem and the creator will work on fixing it, I have been using the free version ever since I got the app in 2020, the Author subscription only adds a couple features, I hope to one day get the Author subscription because I would love to add covers and finally have aligned paragraphs, having to hit the “I don’t want to support” button every time I enter the app breaks my heart, but I have to wait until I can actually afford a full subscription without having to drop it after a while. Review part aside, I have yet another request, can we have an update on the backups feature? Recently, I lost a big paragraph because my phone died and it didn’t save, it would be really helpful if the backups had a feature that worked faster than the autosave. Thank you for reading, Ginger Wolf 💜
NO REDO/ MANUAL BACKING ONLY!!
I have been using this app for the last almost year and I just saw that there is NO REDO BUTTON!?!? so I lost work from the last 7 or so months… terrible app!!!!!!
Gets the job done
I just downloaded the app, and I’m still messing around with it, but I do like the organization options provided thus far. I would love to see a “find and replace” word search added—akin to what’s available in other writing document apps. Looking forward to more updates in the future!
Doesn’t save
I am paying for the premium version. The whole point of the app is to save your writing. It doesn’t save every time. What on earth is going on. I’ve lost so much. So, I’m going to copy allllll of my work into another app and delete this one. The second star is because I used to like this app.
Great But…
I paid for subscription but my profile still says I’m on the free plan. I received my email confirmation that I paid.
Great App, Great Dev
I’ve been using this app for months now and recently came across a small bug. Nothing app breaking, just annoying. I sent a bug report and expected to hear nothing back as with most apps, but the dev responded the next day asking when the bug would occur so he could recreate it. It took a day and a half but he alerted me that he had figured it out and it would be patched in the next update in a couple days, while giving me a work around to avoid it in the meantime. Very cool experience, I won’t be changing writing apps any time soon.
How dare you
I’ve had books in here that I’ve kept over the span of 7 years, all for them to get completed deleted. Who do you think you are? Deleting my memories and childhood memories, I will never forget this. Mark my words you’re going down. Down town like your timber.
HMM, COVER NEEDED
YOU MUST MAKE THAT YOU CAN MAKE A BOOK COVER WITHOUT PREMIUM! I DO NOT LIKE WHEN EVERYTHING IS PREMIUM. 🤬😤
Undo? Please?
Needs an undo button BAD. Just accidentally deleted EVERYTHING i wrote today by trying to delete the scene name. So. Thanks for that.
saving Issues
When exporting the book the whole manuscript does not save sometimes
What a great app
Honestly I’ve been using lots of story apps and this is the one that allows it to be simple and easy to use. I love it.sometimes it’s a little slow to load but so far I haven had any problems with it
Unable to access
I’m subscribing but through the Apple store. Apparently since they’ve made changes you can’t log in this way and I didn’t set up an email log in, just an Apple Store log in. I’m not subscribing again. Allllll my work is lost.
Pretty Good, but how do I delete a scene!!!!
This should be self explanatory!!! Will it be usable, I don’t know yet?? Help!
I don’t like it
On it, it says this is for 4+ but how are 4+ up to the age of 10 or 11 supposed to know there email address ??? I’m 10 and I don’t know it and I was really looking forward to writing my own story
Functional but glitchy
I like the app well enough, but I,ve found sections of the app that aren’t the main writing section, like “characters” and “places” glitch out on my iPad and don’t respond to touches to enter data in the fields, or cause the program to crash. It’s fine enough for just the writing part, though.
ITS REALLY GOOD I RECOMMEND
It’s really easy to use. I find it very fun to write books on here. There is one minor issue thought. You can’t use the tab on a keyboard to start a paragraph. It’s not a super big deal I find myself using the space bar but other then that it’s awesome
LIES ABOUT AUTOSAVING
Doesn’t autosave when creating a character. The space to Create a character is already small so when my hand accidentally touches ANYWHERE ELSE on the screen it DELETES ALL YOUR PROGRESS PLEASE ALOW AUTOSAVED. DRAFTS AND THEN THE APP WOULD. BE WORTH USING. SO MUCH GOOD MATERIAL GONE. NEVER USING AGAIN I DONT RECOMMEND
Good but been glitchy
I have been using this app for a bit now but recently it is glitching out when I access the characters and places widgets. It won’t pop up until I switch from portrait orientation to landscape, or vice versa. And the auto save will erase my words as I’m typing pretty frequently. I want to keep using this app but it’s getting frustrating the more I do in it.
Zero Support
While the app itself is pretty decent there is no support despite several contacts by me. Would have zero confidence if there was an issue so no chance of me upgrading. In action the desktop app only works if you have an M1 chip 8n yo7 Mac. Having to move my writing elsewhere which is a shame.
Pretty good
In general, this app has been very helpful for my writing. I love the corkboard option, and the labels for drafts and stuff is great. However, at times I haven’t been able to access some of my chapters. I also haven’t been able to add new chapters to one of my books for a while. I hope this feedback is helpful.
Second novel
I love how this app moves seamlessly from laptop to phone. It’s the most intuitive I’ve used. This is my go to
Good Concept, but doesn’t function.
Anytime I tap something open it: say adding characters of setting or trying to edit characters or setting it just won’t open. I have to tap several times just for it open, and then? It doesn’t open to where I tap, it opens where I can’t see the words I’m typing and trying to edit and when I try to scroll down, it closes me out of the characters/setting tab. I can’t move pay to access things off my screen either, like the pay to access thing next to the characters, setting, and labels stuff. It just stays annoyingly in the way. It’s a good concept, but it doesn’t function well(and half of it is pay to access). I ended up just making a GoogleDocs of it all, people of how badly this app ends up functioning.
Organized, but needs improvement.
I really like this app, and really organized for the story I’ve been writing. I really frustrated though because it won’t let me go to the area where you pay for the app, and I keep trying to press upgrade author. I also don’t like how this app deletes your account after a month of not using it, so I hope you guys will get rid of that. I really love this app but I do think there’s room for improvement.
It’s ok
I don’t mind it much… but it’s just not for me. It’s too difficult and doesn’t really look like the photos or the rating! It seems all cramped and I just don’t like it.
Valuable
As a storyteller, this app is useful in so many ways!
Lost everything
Clumsy unintuitive UI caused me to inadvertently delete everything. Very buggy, too. Every time I clicked on the editor to begin a scene, the lower third of my laptop and tablet would go blank. Good effort and I appreciate devs trying but it has too many issues
It’s Real Good But Missing Features
This app is really good and I like how easy it is to track the progress of your stories, the Characters and Places Widgets are amazing but those aren’t the only two important parts of a story, there needs to be a way to make more or just have everything we need premade and ready, I vote for the former but not being able to make more widgets is an oversight in my opinion, other than that, the app is great and I am extremely grateful for the dark mode
Scrolling
I hate that on iOS when I am scrolling through chapter or scene, it's just so slow.
Can’t go premium
Great app but I subscribed to premium and I still can’t access gallery and tells me premium members only ??
Being clear
I felt that it was very unclear what to do
1 star doesn’t deserve 5
I used to write on this app. Deleted it because I had a lot of apps of my phone. Got it again now all I see is white I can’t see my stories/story. Rubbish 1 and a half stars
Navigation Issues
Ok so I am the first to admit that I am not great with all things technical. However, I have been trying to locate a tutorial or some guidelines on using this app to no avail. I love the existence of this application, and the concept is not rocket science, but as soon as I finished the introduction to my book, it closed, and now I am unable to add chapters. I can edit the introduction, but the app has deemed the book finalized, and now I can't go back to write the rest of my story! The only option the application offers is to delete the entire “book” and start over from scratch. I have to admit that I can't specifically blame the app for this, but a tutorial or support portal would be nice.
Great idea, but needs more work
Downloaded this app only a few days ago, originally finding it really good, but I found problems pretty early on. These where the main things I found with this app: Pros; -The layout is clear and easy to use. -I especially loved how you have separate categories for your characters and your places. (Which definitely helped me to start building and expanding on my ideas). -liked how expansive it seemed. -in the beginning I did like how it reminded me to save what I’d wrote (but this got old really quickly) Cons: -I found that each time I tried to edit what I wrote there was a slight ‘glitch’ where the app didn’t know where I was writing. -I found it annoying having to constantly press a ‘save button’ to remove a pop up, just so I could continue writing (broke my chain of though several times) As written above, I really wanted to like this app, but my dealbreakers where the fact that A)the app randomly stopped being able to save anything I would write, despite manually asking it to And B) that despite having made an account, after logging out I was unable to log back in. My WiFi connection was strong and my iOS software was up to date so don’t think these were the problem....
Good App, But I lost all my progress.
I love this app, But, I was writing this story called ” Fallen Kingdoms " and I finished, the thing was, I was a guest and when I logged in my account, I lost my whole story so, that’s my issue. I very much wish to get this book back, because I’ve never in my life completed a book before, and I was very proud.
A fantastic app! Just please give me a serif font
I love this app! I’ve been using it for nearly 3 years now. I love its organizational features. The free version allows you to accomplish realistically everything you need to write your novel with organized chapters, scenes, characters, and places. To the developer: thank you for making this app! I tried out a couple when I downloaded it, and I was the most satisfied with the free to use features of Mystory. If you’re reading this, I just have two requests: 1. PLEASEEE add a serif font!! I beg you. I don’t really care what it is but this font is starting to wear on me. 2. I’d love a downloadable app for my Mac!
Everything is premium
Pointless
I LOVE THIS APP SO MUCH!!!WHO IS THE GENIUS WHO MADE IT?!
I love this app it so easy to make books or at least write out my ideas. The only down side of it is its a little confusing at first but thats all٫to all who are reading this and are considering getting it you should!🩷
Brilliant!
This app is 99% perfect, in my opinion. The 1% you could improve on is allowing us to add pictures on our novels. Maybe allow us to add book covers? Also, it would be nice if I could use this without WiFi...
It’s Good But…
I had this app since the beginning of 2019, and it's been really good ever since. But, since I've updated this app, I've not likened the update very much, and it's because of the size of the writing, it looks too close together, the writing is so minute - I even tried to change the size of the writing, but that didn't do the job, it still looked small and close. I have to say that I prefer the old version of the update as the writing wasn't as nanoscopic and close. Not only that I don't like the writing, but I also don't like the layout of the stories.
