Great App! 1 minor improvement
Great app overall. App provides seamless, instant, documented, clear communication between Carers and Parents. I have 2 children at 2 different OWNA app using childcare centres (daycare & pre-school). It would be helpful to open the app and view both children’s childcare accounts and see any important updates about each child (eg incidents). At least to be given the option to select either childcare centre upon opening the app. Going to app settings, switching between accounts is cumbersome. Very minor feedback and request.

Great app for staying updated with our children and daycare. I really appreciate the app for keeping us informed, but the user interface could be improved. It’s not very intuitive—you have to tap on every icon just to find what you’re looking for. A more organized layout would make a big difference.

I use the OWNA app for my kids’ childcare centre and it’s been great. I regularly see updates throughout the day such as photos of what my kids are doing and what they’re learning, updates on toileting, meals and sleep times. It gives me the ability to sign them in/out and mark them as absent when I need to without having to call or email the centre along with other functions that are useful. This app makes communication with the centre seamless, quick and reliable. It’s by far the best app I have seen that is used by parents with kids in childcare.

Crashes, not user friendly, all round really bad.
2025 review
Practical and functional childcare app. Would recommend 1) UX improvements centred around key user functions (enrolling, booking/changing bookings, paying, notifying/uploading info (eg consent/medical forms) and minimising ancillary ones 2) the ability to access multiple centres from one user account: 3) integrated rather than linked form functions. Notwithstanding, a decent solution for the market!
How not to do error handling
Having a button not reacting to anything instead why is it not reacting to anything - at a not really used place as child sign in/out is not considered a good practice pretty much since the 80s. When signing in a child via pin, there is a signature field. Despite that field the application ask for a signature in the pop up. Where these developer learned programming?!
Decent App
I’ve had to use a few different Childcare apps over the years and this one was completely different to all of them! It’s a little tricky to get used to, but once you know how to use it, it’s actually really good and has so many different sections to use!
Great mobile app
The Owna mobile app has excellent usability — I’ve never experienced any delays in loading or navigating, and it feels much smoother than other mobile apps I’ve used in the past. It’s super responsive and clearly designed with care. The only thing I’d suggest is adding a few extra features like the ability to mark favorites or pin important items. Overall, a great app!
What notifications?
Would love to have notifications but they never come through. Other parents tell me same for them. Pretty annoying if educator trying to communicate with you about your child and you only see it because you have to habitually check the app.
New user experience
This would benefit from some minor tweaks for a more user friendly experience. Otherwise it’s super easy to find where to look for things once you know! Looks great too.
Could be better
I’ve used a few apps like this for childcare centres and this is probably my least favourite, it’s not very user friendly I’m constantly having issues with it freezing when trying to sign in and not receiving timely notifications ect
THUMBNAILS NEEDED
Please add the ability to swipe through thumbnails when looking at photos attached to posts. There are so many photos and you have to swipe through every full size photo to see them all and they are slow to download.

Spam
The app I’m forced to use for daycare is now spamming me with stuff for sale.
Fix the sign in
There was an update in the last 2 weeks which changed the sign in keypad to what looks like a phone keypad. Very small, frustrating to use. Please change it back.
Can’t change accounts because ad in the way
Have 2 kids at different centers and I’m now stuck in one account because the ad pop-up blocks the settings cog… so frustrating
Great update
We get regular updates from our childcare. It’s great that we can check him in and out through the app. We can see his nap times, meals and toilteting!
App offers everything I don’t need
The app has many options but trying to connect my account with my child is impossible. There’s no way to delete your account from the app. There’s even a shop but not helpful options to do what it should be doing.
Please fix the video player of the iOS app
Videos don’t have sound when playing in the app. Top 2 buttons (close& save) are partly covered by the Dynamic Island.

I had an outstanding experience with the centre. The service are fully excellent, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. highly recommended.
Clunky
I find this ap fine if you have one child attending one centre. If you have multiple children across multiple centres then the ap is clunky. It needs to be streamlined better.
Easy to navigate
Our outside school hours care centre uses this app and it functions perfectly for our use. Very easy to book sessions, notify absences and complete permission slips as needed. Very useful to be able to sign children in and out if there is a line up for the in-centre station.
Terrible user experience
UI is all over the place, illogical user flow, terrible user experience. Has a shop for some reason? The designers need to return to basic user centred design principles - watch someone trying to use this app and you’ll soon see the flaws.
Best childcare app
Really impressed with the new app at our daycare centre. It’s made notifying absences and sharing information so much easier.
The worst
This would have to be one of the worst apps I have ever used. Pages constantly freeze, don’t work or crash, information disappears, and it is not user friendly. I can’t wait till I don’t have to use it. Very disappointed.
Works as expected!
The app is simple, straight forward and does what it says it will do. Notifications are easy to follow and well organised. Action categories are neat and logical as well as activity monitoring. Simple and easy and one of the better daycare apps I’ve used out in the market. Thank you!

Could be better. Disappointing that they offer incentives for reviews. Shame I couldn’t get the much needed incentive though.
All Star Kids
I am so happy with this App as I can sign in my two granddaughters in the car before I unbuckle them from their car seats and walk them in. As I have a walker it helps to have them already signed and not block the entrance when signing in and out. To get to see my granddaughters in play and being constructive in class is an amazing blessing. We get to view their meals planed and read about their activities during the day. It also informs me of upcoming events and excursions for the girls so I can prepare the girls. Love love love this app. Ester Woods
Shocking platform for parents and customers alike
It is an incredibly confusing system to use for a parent and also a business, nothing straightforward like traditional systems, I would stick to other platforms great how it lines everything up and has a break down but no understanding of how we get to the broken down amounts, I feel there’s a way for people to miss amounts unless it’s the company we go through that use owna… Definitely better training is needed for parents… I find I was being ripped off and it took an entire term for the company to fix it because they weren’t seeing what I was seeing. Can’t wait to be done with daycare so owna isn’t in our lives
