GFL 1
Been playing since 2019 and have been loving almost every aspect of it. It’s what got me more into the firearm space and end up owning pure clone rifles because of this game. But I digress. For newcomers coming from Exilium, welcome. Hope you enjoy the storytelling as much as I did, which I believe this series played in a part of creating the trope of “ooh game about anime girls and guns”, to the darkest and grittiest plots you expect from a war themed genre thru PEAK story-telling. Every new gacha game I started, they immediately get placed on the back burner whenever a new chapter came out for this game, even GFL 2 at times. From a game aspect, pretty overly forgiving when it comes to rolling for the Tactical Dolls and their dupes (dummies) if you be patient and play the waiting game to collect resources. As long as you have the production tix, you can just keep on rolling. Small rant: Even though I put 5 stars, it’s more of a 4.5 as there have been collabs with multiple media like the Gunslinger Girl, The Division, Va11-Ha11a, Ghost in the Shell, etc., with no more reruns with only Arena: Breakout being the only collab that did. I get the IP ownership and copyrights but it’s just my small gripe since there are T-Dolls, and exclusive equipment sets that I missed and can’t get anymore. Same with the monthly log-in 3* dolls and other equipment featured that barely get featured in the Grey Zone area. But as for everything else, 5*

Buggy
My screen always has this loading thing on it regardless of if I sign in or not and it’s hella annoying. Plz fix this bug. Like I’m logged into the game but this loading thing is there blocking half my screen
App size with no pc port
The game itself is fun, however due to its size and lack of optimisations, it takes up way too much space and overall is a laggy experience. I do not recommend playing this until it gets a pc port.
Good game but be careful
So I’m really enjoying the game I like the different types of play styles and using different strategies for each level. So I wanted to keep going and I opened my wallet to make things go faster but when you buy the gems pack you can get charged for than what they advertised. I went to buy the 10 dollar pack and they charged me 14.92 . Which is a big red flag . So it’s a good game just be careful
Better than the second
The gameplay is a logistics fan dream, the T-dolls being based on and having the names of irl firearms is just such a great concept. I enjoyed this vastly more than the second.
Boring
As a new player, the game is very difficult to invest in. I think whole gacha system and grinding is too complicated for me. Gameplay bores me. There is no against the game. It looks really nice. I love the art and girls.
2025 Review
It’s pretty good to my surprise, When I saw this i compared it to the new one, But when I downloaded it and played it, it was pretty good even if this game is older than 5 years..I love the gameplay and Gacha so. so if you’re looking for a nice and simple game that is fun and kinda addictive, this is it. ALSO if you don’t have THAT MUCH storage you can always play this UNTILL u get a new device or more storage to play the new one..SO this is a game for people that doesn’t have that much storage.
Wonderful game, but can no longer play or download game data
The game was a wonderful past time for a long time, but now due to unknown reasons you can’t download the full data of the game. The game is extremely storage dependent but about halfway through the download the game will crash and be unable to continue the download. Regardless of if you verify data files or such. Until it’s fixed I wouldn’t recommend downloading the game.
It’s fine, but…
I play the game once in a while, but I had to reinstall it, and it crashes while trying to log into my Game Center account. I hope this bug gets fixed, but otherwise, the game is fine. I’ve certainly played lower quality games and had a good time, so have at it, I guess.

So I used to play this game a lot, and it’s pretty fun for sure. However I tried to redownload for old times sake and found a fun little bug Halfway through the download, the game will crash and west the download. Until this is fixed I can’t give the game a good review :)
Cool game just outdated
It’s honestly a pretty unique game as far as mobile games go. The mechanics and gameplay are cool and I like how summoning duplicates can be used to build your army. The game is just horribly outdated now, with a clunky UI and laggy gameplay. Definitely and desperately needs an update
Pretty cool, but it crashes a lot
Its funny to watch anime girls use real life guns but this game has a few mild inconviences because of glitches Would be cool if they did collabs with guns from video games
Overall
After 5 years into playing GFL, excluding a 2 year hiatus since I've gotten bored after time. I would say this. Didn't have to spend a dime to win the game, except for skins of course, which it's optional. Gameplay was fun at first, but once you get deep into the story or having to play newly added events, you start to traverse through some difficulty. What I meant by that is you'll go through an intricate of puzzles where one wrong step or even bringing the wrong team for the mission can cost you your resources and your time, making it tedious after repeat amounts of reattempts, makes it boring for me at this point. It wouldn't be challenging if there are either night battles of which you cannot predict yourself of where you're going without running into an enemy who can wipe out your team easily or maps with tons of nodes to cover. With the same gameplay over and over again, with moving one girl from here to there, made me think that I'm honestly surprised that I managed to play the game without noticing how repetitive it was, not to mention how clunky it felt to play this. The guns themselves are unique, given from eras from WW1 to modern times, offers players to choose a variety of weapons to choose. Lately I couldn't really bring myself to play the game of how I was back then. Regardless, I still have this game near my heart as I have thought of the good old days of me playing this game hours upon hours of grinding for that sweet sexy 5/7 (hoxy). On the side note, I've started to notice this game has been crashing lately, as I have never encountered this issue before long ago, which it's strange considering my ipad is still relatively up to date (iPad 8th generation).

The app crashes every 2 minutes and 11 seconds. It is unusable
Tons of Pros and one Con
I would absolutely love to give this app five stars. It’s a really fun game with a ton of depth. I love tinkering with my units, playing with different formations and strategies to get better results, and I’ve never felt like I have to spend money in order to progress. The artwork is beautiful as well. The one and only problem I have with it is stability! If I play for fifteen minutes, it’s almost guaranteed to crash at least once. I mean, it reboots pretty quick, and even if I’m in the middle of a battle, I can pick up right where I left off, but it’s still really aggravating. I’m playing with the latest updates and iOS, so I’m not sure why it crashes so much. Besides that though, it really is an excellent game.

Good game/bad programming
The game concept is great very close to azur lane another great game. The main difference in how fun each is to play comes down to preference and programming skills. I play both I like them both tbh the art and programming and smoothness is far better in azur lane. I’ve ran into two glitch’s since installing a few days ago. One hard locked the game and I had to uninstall and reinstall. The tutorials in this game are required but if you close or click something the game, hard locks and refuses to let you click anything you just get a continuous loading box. there are a couple more small glitches. most of them just require you to reboot the game but some of them require you to uninstall on like the other game. another problem is that your achievements and quests will over, pop the screen repeatedly you will be clicking through all that crap for the first few hours of the game. It’s also a bit over complicated compared to azur lane. All and all the game is good if you can deal with the glitches and getting through all little tutorials and quest in the beginning. I do recommend this game though just get past the bad programmed issues and over complicated UI.

Fun but confusing
It is a good game when you start it but it keep saying they finding illegal action and plz relog back in and I do and it doesn’t fix it but except that the challenge I am having it is fun.

Can’t change language
It’s ridiculous to have a game that doesn’t even offer options for different languages. What year we living in? The 80s? My PS1 had some games that at least offer 2 languages to choose from.

Game issues
Amazing game but recently I did an XP battle and ever since my game has been stuck in a glitch on the same battle. I lose the battle and it kicks me back to the start screen and then takes me right back to the battle again which I lose. Really irritating bc I haven’t been able to play for a week plus and there’s no way for me to report the problem when I can’t even get to the Home Screen to write a report to the game. I even tried deleting the app and downloading it again to restart it and nothing changes. I don’t know what to do and if it’s just a bug that needs fixed or what but seeing that the last update was 4 months ago it’s not looking very good for me which makes me sad bc I had a lot of fun playing it.

Can't login anymore
I've been playing Girls' Frontline for about 2 years now. Now all of a sudden after a maintenance break I can't login anymore. This should be a low star review but I enjoy the game to much to do that. But to clarify I've been using my Game Center account for GFL. Please help me with this.
The battery problem.
I really like this game and I want to enjoy it to its full potential but I can’t. There appears to be a glitch where the battery condenser doesn’t not appear in my dorm at all. Online I found that people have been having this problem since at least July last year but it has not been fixed yet by the developers. People say clearing cache or uninstalling and reinstalling the app can help but it does not work for me. This is a big part of the game so I’m very disappointed. Please fix this
Updates
Aight I really do love this game, the story, my raifus, and so on but Jesus the updates are outright broken sometimes. Originally my game was 4 GB and there was an update around 130 MB. Fair I guess, but that update got screwed up and stuck at 90% So try to reinstall and the base game is 300 MB and it asks to download full package which should take another 3 GB Once that finishes somehow it adds up to 4.8 GB, which causes my whole system to lag. Sadly gonna have to drop it
Perfect blend of Tactical Warfare and Anime Genre
This application has a fond collection of Tactical Dolls of different styles and combat effectiveness, some are monthly (glad you can get them as drops from Campaign), and some are special from collaboration events. Sure some T-Dolls may be hard to obtain for your dream team or completion but the battle gameplay is flawless with the set of weapons, gear and skills each has. And in this commander’s opinion, obsoletely the greatest tactical game I’ve played
Disappointing
Game crashes every ~3 minutes of playtime. Was looking forward to playing this game and getting to know the characters/story but it’s a chore with how unstable the game is.
Great Chinese game with only English version
I’ve been playing the Chinese version for more than 2 years and I hope we can have the option to switch the game language from English to Chinese.

The only thing this game had going for it was the art, but even that is censored.
Great, except...
I played for months and greatly enjoyed the game! The gameplay is interesting and progressively gets harder as chapters get on. However, one day I found that my account was deleted in some way? I couldn’t log in anymore, and I know there was no reason for me to get banned. I contacted customer service and they did not answer any of my questions and left me on read. For new players, prepare for the grind and hope your account doesn’t get deleted.
Steam port, please.
This game is absolutely phenomenal and I’ve had a great time playing it over the years. I got into it for the VA-11 Hall-A event, which was a blast, and I stayed for the great story and cool characters I’ve gotten to unlock and interact with. However I do feel like I’ve progressed to a point in the story where the game would probably feel better to play on a desktop or laptop. It’s a pretty big game and takes quite a bit of thinking and skill to progress across the large maps, I’d love to see this game ported to Steam or just to the PC in general, it would make it so much easier to play and so much more fun. 🙏🏻 But overall, highly recommend to anyone.
Sunborn ID session login expire
I don’t want to keep logging in with my sunborn if every time I open the app. It’s annoying because it goes into the game anyways and I’m stuck with a big box saying please log in. When I log in it doesn’t even login it just keeps loading forever. I have to restart the game and then open it up to login twice just to play. It’s very annoying. Support won’t let me unlink my account and bind it to Facebook either
F2P Friendly
This game is very kind to F2P players. Receiving resources to get "T-Dolls" while trying to level up your T-Dolls. Though it's only the late gaming that it's isn't as friendly because it requires gems (the shop currency of real money) but you get around 30 per week (on one day) and quite a lot from monthly daily logins
So much memory
On the app store it says 200mb, some games download addition content, fine, but the game takes more than 3.5 Gb of space without a word of warning in the store

Good game, RIP Empty
The gameplay is pretty fun, also very hard 💀 The characters are really cool and the storyline is insane. I found this game from an animator named Empty/H3robrinehunter most of his animations were of this game… rest in peace Empty.

Ya it’s good but..
You need resources to battle, and your never told that, you can find resources in missions but all it’s been doing is saying “enemy ambush” and taking resources away, how am I able to fight when I was lied to from the first mission to believe those icons will give me resources Other then that it’s good but that seriously hurt my opinion on the game
