Gacha System Change
First off, I love BA, I've been playing since D.Hina banner so about 2 years about now. I love from the gameplay, the stories, the art, the students, and the community. But Nexon has recently announced changes in the jp livestream to the pity system which squeezes all the players to spend more. It just smells corporate greed and anti-consumerism. We won't get these changes just yet but if they do, global will get these changes when we catch up to JP/KR. Please Nexon, listen to your community or a good portion of the community will leave and find something else! I can't in good conscience recommend this game if they follow through with the changes.

Lack of Strategy
Blue Archive is a lot like many other of these kinds of games. They all differ just a little bit from each other. The positive being the Graphics, Mechanics, Variety of customization, voice acted characters. But then you have the negative - The story has an inconsistent flow through explaining what’s happening. The plot is being rushed and the grammar is off putting. There are no animations accompanying any of the cutscenes or dialogue. There’s barely any logic to the story. It takes FOREVER for the game to show you how to use its basic mechanics. And most of all, Blue Archive acts as a ‘choice game’, but it usually only gives you one choice when you “get a say” in the story, therefore there is no difference in the dialogue, and your own character can’t make any of their own decisions whatsoever, despite the fact that your character is called sensei (meaning high in command). You see; what makes a game A Game, is the fact that You’re able to control what’s happening. Otherwise, you’re practically just watching a series or movie. You CANT EVEN PLAY AS YOUR OWN CHARACTER in the fighting mini games either. It’s painful to watch yourself do nothing to contribute. Your character can’t and doesn’t have conversations with the other characters. Yet the other characters look at you as if you’ve done all these great things. It’s bland. It’s unrealistic. Its pitiful. It’s degrading. It’s degenerative. Unless they plan to fix this in the future, which I doubt they will, I would not at all recommend playing this. It is clear that the developers don’t care about you or your feelings. The storytellers don’t care about you either. They’re all doing this for their own benefit. It’s just a Bad Game.

Great game, loads fine
Disregard those that complain about long loading times when it’s their own wifi that can’t load even the loading bar. I’d say this actually loads quite fast, even on mobile data. The storyline is very suspenseful and interesting, and the gameplay is great. Though there’s a bug for me that says a session is active (I only play on one device) when trying to log in after the game exits (likely due to a RAM issue), but it’s easy to resolve and I can just restart the app.
Do not recommend
You cannot play offline; risk of total loss of access (live service). It’s better to watch the anime.

This game really good,its have lot of characters,stories,gameplay,nice songs,gacha,… But i hope it can have(fix) this -when in the limited banner pls decrease % to have another character (i gacha alot of time and it give me too much character-but dont have limited. -when fighting sometimes lag and can’t use skill -it take alot of time to go into game(5-10 min) -and need to give time when it update,sometimes i can log into game and 1-2 hour later i log in and see it update Hope developer can fix.
一檔玩家撐不下去
從半週年那時候入坑到現在也好幾年了，我覺得最大的問題還不是抽卡或劇情那些，而是總力戰和大決戰。新的機制出來多少會有一點新鮮感，但過了一陣子就是凹凹凹，除了凹還是凹，都不知道會花多少小時在打排名上，玩到後面變成有一檔就好，再然後看到總力戰、大決戰就覺得煩。最後戰術大賽可以考慮改名為運氣大賽
This is a good game, but it has its problem.
As i have mentioned, this is a good game. It has a wholesome story, which can get serious when necessary, and cute students. The only issue with it is the optimization. I plays the game with iPhone 12, and frequently experience crashing. It usually happens every 10 minutes when i’m doing the dailies, and literally everytime i get into combat. The boss fight is even worse. I cannot even complete a run, even when i turn everything off (lowest setting, skill animation, boss animation, anti-aliasing… all that). I don’t think memory is the problem, b.c my phone has 256gb ROM. I have also played other games (HSR, Nikke, Arknights…) and has experienced minimal amount of crashings. At least, the problem for me when playing them is my phone getting hot. But for this game, it cannot even get warm since the game crashes before it can even be so. Hopefully, the developers can somehow fix this problem.
Ruined the story
SPOILERS The death of the three robot girls ruined the 10/10 chapter and Y’all better bring them back.
Lotta problems
The currency credits is basically useless, the drop rates for getting new characters are horrible and then when you get doubles they give you nothing. It’s kinda a waste of time
Good game, but…
Good game, cute design. I love it very much! But the most unbearable thing is the constant crashing. I’m desperate for a help since i can’t play one match, even if i can play one match then my students walk a bit and crash the game, the “join back battle” system is useless because of this 😭
Changed the gacha system
Most recently they changed the way the gacha system works on the JP server and that means it will arrive to global in a few months. I love the game, characters, community, but with this change I will no longer support the game going on forward. Screw nexon

Recent UI changes are nauseating
Literally nauseating. I'm playing on an iPhone 12 and the UI buttons are so small that they cause eye strain and nausea. No options to change UI to better suit play on a phone. I'll probably stop playing as a result.
Crashes
The game is fun, engaging and relaxing to play. But crashes happen once and then. I hope the developers can fix this issue happening.
Unnecessary changes
The new changes to the gacha make it incredibly predatory and greedy. There was no reason to make the changes they have except to squeeze even more money out of players.
Runs badly on my end.
I want to like this game so bad. I like the story, character designs, gameplay, and pretty much everything. my only issue is the frequent crashing. The game isn’t completely unplayable, but it’s just extremely annoying having to reopen it constantly and sit through the loading screen. Take this with a grain of salt because I’m only slightly tech savvy, but if my phone can run much, much larger games such as Love and Deepspace and Hoyoverse with absolutely zero issues then I highly doubt that my phone is the problem here.
This game filters tourists
Its genuinely entertaining to read some of the single star reviews. It always has to do with one of the listed: -They suck at the game -Have no patience to level up -They don’t know how to play the game properly -Can’t separate Fiction with reality Or they just (unfortunately) have a horrible device for compatibility. Things to point out is: 1: No, theres no gamemode thats impossible in the game. If you attempt a lunatic difficulty in any game, you will be met with defeat. Same goes in every other game. If your team synergy or stats simply suck then thats entirely on you. Not that the game is impossible. Simply put, if the game built it intentionally and people beat it then its not about it being impossible. You’re simply picking the wrong fights. 2: If you seriously believe that leveling up requires you to pay, then you need to have your attention span checked. You do realize that you can log in, get cafe stamina, sweep and you will slowly climb your way to max level. Not that difficult. If you can’t have patience, then you shouldn’t even be playing gacha games. 3: If you can’t look into the game systems then you can’t play the game properly. The biggest criticism I saw here is “PVP sucks”. To some degree I agree. However, you have plenty of ways to make sure you win the best you can: - Deployment order - What students you bring - What students you are fighting (visible) - Choose starting deck Not just “Oh my level is the highest between the two of us so I expect to win”. You seriously won’t get anywhere in ANY game if you can’t do as much as read. 4: Seriously people need to understand the difference between fiction and reality. This is self explanatory. Treating a fictional character as if they are real is bad in pretty much all angles. 5: Sorry for your loss. It usually has to do with background apps, memory or your storage. Try that.
Downfall
After spending many years, I had a great time on Blue Archive, but after this update, putting so much effort, so much time into the game, the gacha system got bad and in the future 3 months from now is getting worse. I spilt whatever pyroxenes and free 10 roll card I had and was forced to choose one and leave the other behind. I only had common draws. Just pyroxenes would be a serious waste of money and be bad investment. Please whoever is reading this, do not choose to invest time in this game, it’s going down a path of corruption and dismantlement, please don’t make the same mistake I have.

Crashes
I love this game and I’ve spent quite a lot of money and time on it, but ever since the last update the crashing issues on iOS have gotten so bad to the point where the game is nearly unplayable. I used to crash once every 20 mins or so while starting or finishing a mission, now I crash every single time I start a tactical challenge or finish a mission. Please fix the game. I bought a new phone last year just to play it, and now I can’t even run missions.
It’s peak
This game is so cute and funny 😭 I been playing for months now and enjoyed every second of it, the simplicity and characters makes this better than other gacha games.

Great game but it will run momentary currencies and not let you even look at them so you're just guessing - then apparently, even if you're spent everything you had, you haven't actually spent everything you had, so now they'll take it away from you.... It's a scam. There are lots of things to like about BA but the economy isn't one of them -! It's as dirty as the next!
Meh
Started ok, but there’s too many item types, rarely get what I need for upgrades, the gacha system sucks, the girls are basic, the game modes are blah, too much reading and loading and jumping around from section to section. Pass.
Good game, but keeps crashing on iOS
Game is good, my review is mostly due to the game sporadically crashing. It used to happen once in a while but after the most recent update, it happens every time battle finishes. It's very inconvenient especially since the game takes a long time to load/start up.
Great game
Great game to immerse yourself in and overall one of the least predatory Gacha games out there. Some of the newer characters are a bit shallow IMO but you’ll find many well written characters that do speak to you, and most character designs and skill cast animations are impeccable. There are limited dialogues with any given character so it may be disappointing if you expect more interactions with anyone. It’s a bit weird to consider anyone your waifu as all characters are your students by lore, but they each have duties and responsibilities well beyond any high school student, so occasionally I forget about that and fantasize about their relationship (such as Ui the digital twin of my irl wife). As with all games you can’t expect to enjoy everything without investing time to learn the mechanics. After 8 months of playing I can clear 80% of the content and spend around 20 minutes a day cruising to the Fest banners that are held twice a year. Though the rewards structure are always forgiving and you get most of the rewards even as a low lever player, it’s important to always recharge AP 3 times and get to the end game faster. Assume you will never get the character you want and always pull to 200. PVP is entirely optional so don’t sweat it. As to story mode, the writing falls off a bit after the first few chapters, but it’s all entirely optional and you can skip the stories entirely. Long load times and occasional crashes. Doesn’t actually update itself in the background. Runs better on the steam client where shop items are cheaper too.
Future bad updates on the horizon
The game's characters, story, music are great, but the gacha system will change for the worst when it eventually catches up to the JP server's complete revamp of the gacha system, turning it from a shared-progress spark/claim at 200 system where if you luck out, you can get another featured unit with the same point counter, into a 50/50 coinflip at 100 points that can make it even worse for you to continue, and completely wipes your progress if you do obtain the rated up unit so you're forced to start from 0 pity for the next one. This is made even worse since unlike other games that use the 50/50 system with single-character, long-running banners, this game runs multiple banners for short periods of time (sometimes up to 6+) consecutively where this system is actively detrimental. As a mid-heavy spender, I cannot recommend this game in its future state when that update inevitably arrives.

0.7% for a new limited character? Feel like 0% and you had to pay for it, minus 3 stars just because of that.
It keeps on crashing after the update
After the 3.5 anniversary update, the game literally crashes for like 3-4 minutes or even less. I was trying to do a 10 pull and the game just crashed out of nowhere. When I try to tap back home in game, it crashes. Also before the pull, when it was playing the animation of the character, I could literally feel my phone getting hotter and hotter. I try to lower everything in settings to no avail. Before the update, it crashes when I play for longer, it’s still bearable. Now it’s just one crash after another. Not going to commentate on the game itself but guys try to fix the stupid crash that happens like every minute or so. Like if you are going to put it in App Store, at least fix this dumb bug since this just make the game unplayable. You guys are making like million dollars of profit and can’t fix this, C’mon man
I really like this game
This game is amazing, and so well put together! i only have one issue tho. Even while being on low graphics and fps, It still crashes very often when playing on phones like the 11 or 12, especially during total assault. when this happens I have to wait a long time for the game to reopen. Despite that, For the majority of the gameplay it doesn’t crash! I love this game, but for anybody reading I would recommend playing on a iPhone 13+ for the best experience and no crashes!!!
