Hastings have been amazing 😊, so far I haven’t had any major issues with them apart from them taking their time on some things.

Message centre is so slow at responding, no number to call them for assistance can easily be found.

Received a letter saying insurance documentation enclosed. There were not with the letter. Presume I at least need my insurance cover note.

Black box phone issues
The black box isn’t accurate. I have used my Google maps on my phone using my stand in my car for most journeys and the app judges my driving negatively based on this.
Value for Money
12 years of insuring my car with Hastings. Always the cheapest or they price match any quotes I get from comparison sites 👌👍😁

Changed to Hastings car insurance already have house insurance. Found the process easy and good value Had an issue getting the two accounts on line in the same place but the tech staff sorted it efficiently and promptly.

Tried making a simple temporary policy update using the app after gaining all info told sorry can’t deal here is a phone number, completely negating the point of the app and raising frustration level to maximum
Ignored when app cannot be updated
Have had many issues this year (have been with Hastings Insurance for many years). My renewal price was very high so I found same cover much cheaper elsewhere. Trying to get in touch without the app(phone no longer compatible) has been a joke with my emails being replied to with it’s the wrong department and suggestions of another or “use the app” -attempted phone calls were also a joke

Are you supposed that track me on and off my car?
Telemetry of the car is one thing but telemetry of me is another. I am still unclear if this app wants to track my phone and it's super unclear the data it collects, who's sees this data, how long it's kept, where is it stored. What happens in a data breach? A decent solution would be to analyse the data on the app and send the conclusions. But as many companies do nowadays opt for putting customers at risk instead of good engineering. If it was not obvious, going for the free 14 day refund.

The app is always available, easy to navigate, and customer service is brilliant. However, don’t need to contact them regularly as the app perfectly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The app makes far too many errors and assumptions!
The app will affect the way you drive, but not in a good way. After several emails to Hastings they ignored the evidence! Be very careful when you adapt your driving to score above 95! You will put other road users and yourself in danger!

Repeatedly fails to record and acknowledge tracking
I have the app-only policy that requires you to allow the app access to location sharing, bluetooth and motion and activity for 30 days. Despite doing this twice, both in Aug and again in Sept, the app has failed twice to acknowledge it has tracked me for the required period. Even though I have fully complied with the policy requirements. This was a pretty invasive requirement given it tracks you whether you’re walking around, taking public transport or driving your car. I won’t allow it to track me any further and given this failure to acknowledge I have compiled twice to this tracking requirement, I don’t intend to renew my policy, even if it turns out to be the cheapest on renewal. Hastings Direct software is too unreliable and can’t be trusted.
