Decent app
Very convenient for new drivers to find fuel the only critique I have is that it’d be nice if there was a „find cheapest” button or something so you don’t have to go around the map and look
No insurance saving
Helped with my driving habits but was about £100 more with the same insurance policy compared with a comparison site.
Good but annoying
I use this app to monitor my driving. I do not use it for insurance purposes. It has had a positive impact on my driving as I found I tended to accelerate and brake too hard and corner too quickly for the app’s liking. Changing those has had a positive impact in my driving and it’s much more smooth now. The app can be annoying however. There’s a constant in app red dot notification if you don’t provide your insurance information and the app will send periodic notifications to add it. It also records far too many trips as a passenger. I suspect it does this to force you to interact with the app and so it can remind you again to add your insurance details. I wish there was a way to set it as driver only. I’m never a passenger. The last time I was a passenger was in 2022 in the back of the limousine that was following the hearse to my mums funeral, so being able to set “always a driver” would be good and earn another star from me.

This is a scam I have deleted the app but it still tracks me down after 6 weeks of deleting the app, it’s like tracking me without my permission
Love the app - trip medals
Love the app and trip medals however I’d like a table to show ex 33 hold medals , 12 silver medals and bronze medals each week and month /year as a total
Disappointing and unreliable.
The DriveScore app has been really disappointing. The scores don’t seem accurate or consistent, and the app doesn’t always seem to match the actual speed limits on the roads. So you get marked as speeding, (It though it was in a 50mph on the motorway. It also flags distractions that aren’t accurate, Example, it has identified several phone distractions when my phone was in either my pocket or my bag. I had a cornering warning on a straight road. On top of that, the app drains my phone battery about 30% when sat in the background. This happens on days when I haven’t been near a vehicle. Overall, I find it unreliable and difficult to trust, and it needs some serious improvement.
Out of date fuel prices
Only downloaded this after seeing social media adverts for finding the cheapest fuel. The reality is fuel prices that are 5 days out of date. Sending me on a journey for fuel at £1.87 (diesel) only for price to be £1.93 the same as every where else. There is also no way to update the prices to the actual prices. So from a fuel finding point of view this app is totally useless. It analysed my driving as a pro driver. And activated the app autonomously. So I could see my driving without knowing the app had been running silently in the background. I added my registration a few days later. And it was only then I found out it was a complete waste of time. As vans are not supported. And they would be unable to give me a potential insurance quote. So it’s a DELETE for me! 🤷♂️

Pointless
I have now used DriveScore for a few months and my score is between 995 to 1000 but it made no difference to my car insurance at all. For cornering my score has dropped but it does not tell me where I am not doing it right so I can’t change anything. I have never hit anything so I can’t be doing too bad but even if I wanted to change my ways, I have no idea what corners I have been too fast at. More of a game than anything useful.

For some reason it doesn’t seem to understand that I don’t drive every time I’m in a car. Let me know when you’re going to provide an app that works
Driving licence verification failed
For the purpose of verification of my ID to purchase the insurance of my car. I tried many times to upload my driving licence but all the time “ failed to read the address”.

Quote was twice as expensive as everywhere else, don’t waste your time!
Shows your driving but……
The app itself is quite good and shows your level of driving. But after using it for a few months ready for insurance renewal, it returned insurance quotes of over 2.5 times more in price than my standard renewal price. Great if you want to monitor your driving and thats about it. A wast of time for insurance quotes. For reference, my score was as high as it gets rating me a “pro driver”.
Fuel prices
The fuel prices are not up to date, so what’s the point of checking in this app. For the last 3 days I refilled my car fuel tank on the same petrol station even today and I know the price exactly and the app is showing me wrong details cheaper which is not trustworthy. Could somebody rise this issue please?
Excellent app
I find this an excellent app to review my driving. It is really comprehensive and accurate accurate. The only criticism I have is because I drive an EV I am often marked down for hard acceleration. A characteristic of an EV is that their instant torque means that they take off as soon as the throttle is touched. I tend to moderate my speed by driving using one pedal and not using the brakes very often. However, when I do so I get marked down for hard braking. I have recommended the app to several colleagues and my boss for his van drivers.
Not so Good/Safe
In a world where people push to speed or stop almost instantly or cut in front. Driving to get the good score could land you in trouble easy. I am a IAMRoadSmart Advanfed Driver and very safe. But safety teaches you when getting on a motorway joining slow as we have all seen is very dangerous but getting up to speed is extremely important. If you’re behind someone you need to accelerate to get to a safe place and that is just one example. I actually got a good score and just on two breaking points on two drives. And that is my car being safe as it’s one of the safest cars on the road.
Poor if you live near tight country roads
This app should be good. But it is rubbish in tight country roads with sharp corners or tight, small roundabouts. Classes all turns as hard cornering and then penalises you on the score. There is an option to report the matter but it makes no difference. Feels like a con - especially when it tracks your every move. Even if you travel in a bus or taxi, it assumes you are in control of the vehicle.
Not a saving ever
None of the offers I was sent were ever below what I am currently paying and when I changed to an EV it was still sending me cheaper fuel prompts. No use at all have better feature on my EV tbh.

So much for these promises of reducing your insurance if you use DriveScore tracking or a telematics device in your car, I have score of 965 and insurance quotes coming in much higher than other searches without any tracking details, all a con?
Big gap in the fuel price check
We have an independent petrol station, BP and Shell, but it omits completely the Tesco which is often the cheapest, bit pointless really.

Rubbish
Apparently I can go from 60 to 0 in less than 1 second and yet I’ve never gone through a windscreen. I’ve been in a car with drivers who braked harshly but it never registered anything. Totally random

Terrible offers
Used the DriveScore app for well over a year. 365 score in the 950’s and the daily score regularly 850-900 yet the insurance offers were double or triple that of a comparison site. Terrible amount of data collected for no purpose if insurance offered is astronomical.

It says it is a way of potentially getting cheaper insurance but it clear from the start it is just a sales platform. Not recommended at all and now deleted from mine.

Nonsense
I have not driven for over a fortnight as I have been on holiday in Crete and yet with no recorded trips over the period my ‘score’ has dropped by 204 points over period. Conclusion - this app just doesn’t work; it is a nonsense.
