Awful app and hardware
The app is just as bad as the hardware—unreliable, buggy, and frustrating. Features randomly fail, and even updating the firmware is practically impossible. A smart lock should make life easier, not turn unlocking your door or installing a basic firmware update into a project. When both the app and hardware are this unreliable, the whole product is pointless. Definitely not recommended.

Unreliable home safety
This is my first app review though I’ve had an iPhone for a long long time. The app for the lock just does not work well. It keeps disconnecting. There is no scheduling feature (eg you cannot automatically lock the door at midnight as a piece of mind). You will waste a lot of your time with the app, the locks, the bridges. The Alexa skill is totally unreliable. Just look online at users’ forums. A malfunctioning app means your house is left unlocked when you thought it was locked.
Unable to show correct lock status
This is a pretty big bug. The app always shows my lock is unlocked even when it is now, and refreshing the screen by pulling doesn’t help with getting the correct status. I had to click the settings button (the gear button) then to device info, and wait for the app to refresh device time, and then exit to the main screen, and this somehow helps the app to get the correct status of the clock. I think you guys need to get this fixed.

The app doesn’t always work 100% of the time. Sometimes when using it will give a failed to connect to server or unable to get token error message
Auto Unlock doesn’t work in the app
App overall works pretty well and is easy to use but the Auto Unlock feature doesn’t work for me. The home and away modes don’t activate correctly and doesn’t work correctly most of the time.

Marketing push notifications
There is a toggle in the app to turn on or off push notifications for marketing - I have the toggle off. I received a marketing push notification today. I also have never been able to get the bridge to work with my device, which hasn’t affected the basic functionality of the device much. Overall, I’ve always been a little disappointed in my uloc (or whatever it’s called) device, but the unacceptable push notification is what drew me to write a review.
New Name of app not good
Don’t use the app that much as the lock just works good. When I go to use the app though I can never find it because I Can never remember the name of the app as the name has no relation that I can think of to the brand of the lock, Ultraloq.

Auto unlocked doesn't work
Auto unlock worked flawlessly until the latest update/firmware update… now I can't get it to work at all… I disabled it deleted the app reinstalled it and now I can't get it to connect to set up the auto unlocked says the connection failed also deleted the lock from my app and now I can't re-add it.. factory reset to no avail.. this is getting worse by the moment HELP

I was apprehensive at the start …but as I worked out kinks (opening on approach) I love the fact that I can open using my phone and also see if the door is locked from a distance. I panicked sometimes to remember if I locked the door behind me but no longer do I panic. I just look on the app and know exactly if it’s closed and locked. Amazing

The deadbolt widget is one of my favorite features but it will randomly stop working. The only way I have found to fix is to delete the lock from the app and reconnect it. Not the end of the world but kind of annoying if that’s your favorite feature like me

I hope the latest update will fix things but we keep getting random notifications when we’re not home that our door was unlocked, the NFC doesn’t seem to work anymore which was the main reason for buying the lock, and the lock goes through batteries crazy fast.

Great quality lock packed with features that make it great for managing multiple users remotely through the phone app. Easy to install and operate, except the timing of its auto-lock when you pull it shut - sometimes it seems to get itself confused on whether it wants to lock or unlock again
Apple watch app still broken
even though the app is installed, the Apple Watch app does not lock or unlock the deadbolt. It doesn’t matter if it’s Wi-Fi or Bluetooth this app has stopped working long ago. Either fix it or remove the app from your marketing.
Frustratingly Slow
I’m a property manager and spend a lot of time on this app programming codes. The user-interface is easy to navigate and generally intuitive. That said, the app is painfully slow to respond. It fails to connect more than it works. Even with a connection, it will drop-out half way through with a lost connection. This means you might get the code programmed and give up programming date restrictions because it doesn’t work. The lag and failure to load waste a lot of time. I’m at a point where I have had to phase these locks out because they cost so much money in time it’s cheaper to change to a new product. Not app related, but the lock itself is poorly laid-out. Guest frequently fail to find the Ultraloq button below the keypad. I have recurrent questions about why the locks don’t work. This app is simply too painfully slow. Connecting to wifi and boosting wifi does nothing to improve responsiveness.

I use the lock for month without an issue, when I update a new update the apps start crash. And can’t revise the old app Now I’m stuck with this lock…
Excellent product
Only downside is the receivers. It should be wifi. Sometimes they have a hard time syncing and my dog loves to pull them out.
App doesn’t connect to locks anymore
I have three Ultraloq licks on my doors, and the app no longer connects with any of them. They have charged batteries, my WiFi is strong, and I’m using the latest version of the app. Now I can’t program in new codes for visitors or do any of the phone enabled functions.

The install was easy as a regular dead bolt. There’s a white sort of pad that comes with the outside keypad that I didn’t know if it’s supposed to be used as a gasket or not. I decided not to use it. The Bluetooth is hit or miss. I’ve tried various distances and the best I can get is a “poor” signal even if it’s 12 inches or 6 feet away! Turned it different directions and different plugs. Still “poor” according to the app. If you are going to have multiple locks, I wish once you set up the user list for the first one, you could pick from a list for the second one but I couldn’t. I had to input them separately which was a bit of a pain.
Why the rebrand?
Not sure why you would change the name of an app to mimic a elon like company name. But you just lost my interest and any return business. From a proud Canadian that will never buy American anything ever again. I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this way.
Doesn’t Auto Unlock when I get home.
Yes I don’t have the newest iPhone. But my XR worked until the last update now I have to always key in my code and I don’t get any notifications when someone opens my door. :( and I can’t check to see if my door is locked ( the reason I bought this ) I have tried all the support help. Oh well 😢

Good product
Overall this is a good product. Decent value for money and very easy to install. A couple of things to consider: 1) Auto Unlock not useful to me since I’m concerned about my phone being stolen and making it easy for someone to open, 2) the app needs more security so it would be a good idea to implement Face ID or Touch ID,3) takes a bit too much time for the app to connect to the lock

Having major connection issues between Bridge and lock. Replaced one lock and bridge but doesn’t seem to have made any difference. My thought is it’s the bridge. Need to do away with it and use a wifi enabled lock. Time to change these locks.

XThing app Updated July 2026… NO BUENO
I have no complaints about my Uhome/UBolt locking device and app as it has served me well for 4 years 2022-2026 with NO PROBLEMS. My compliant centers around the latest Uhome /XThings app update. The Uhome/XThings developers pushed an update July 2026 and now my app will not open. I press to XThings icon AS USUAL, it starts to open and quickly goes back to the icon. Please push another update to fix this problem or direct me on how to undo the last update. Thx🫤

Wifi connection is useless
The app connection using wifi is useless on my bolt pro with built in wifi. Bluetooth connection is good and no issues with it. I’ve given up on using this for wifi in any capacity.
