New Rachio lawn sprinkler system
Absolutely love it. Controls itself, but I can alter it so easily if needed. Recommended by Brian and True Blue (great company)!
Pay walling is a joke
Hiding a feature of this product behind a paywall is embarrassing. Shameless.
Somewhat confusing
Setting up the schedule is not as straightforward as it seems.
WiFi connection
Have a hard time E connecting to my WiFi
Good but ignores skips
I like the app but it seems to no longer be able to detect flow and now if you manually skip any day in the future, it ignores it and will go ahead and water the lawn anyways. Nothing new seems to have been added but the app isn’t working as well as it used to.
Love!
This system has made maintaining our fruit trees truly a breeze. If I’m hot. I check soil saturation and more often then not the areas in need get a boost. Huge fans are we.
Nice controller, does not work with HomeKit.
I spent years trying to get this to work reliably with HomeKit. I finally gave up and switched to a Yardian controller that works perfect with HomeKit. It has the all the same features as the Rachio. Plus, it works reliably with HomeKit.
Good app, 1 change since last year that needs s fix
We’ve been using valves for the garden. Works really well and super service when we had a defective power supply. It was replaced immediately. This year, we have exactly the same set-up and we kerp getting the « no flow detected » even if the water faucet is fully open.
Used to be great
Intermittent issue where it stops working. Works from controller manually but app sometimes works sometimes doesn’t. Grass dried out twice after vacations. Moving on to different unit.
Beware of Weather Intelligence
I was away and see that Rachio did a rain skip twice this week. I connected to the weather underground station in the app and it lets you look at the history. This weather station recorded zero precipitation for the week, yet Rachio skipped watering (and it tells you 30 minutes before while I am sleeping at night so I can’t bypass) I was wondering why my lawn has been brown, now I know why.
Get RACHIO today!
Interface is as beautiful as a stunning landscape. Easy to use. Flexible. Convenient. Reliable. Ditch your old dial timer with the tiny screen. I learned this one less than 300 seconds. Don’t wait - go get it - your life will be 1000 times better. It will be simple and you will be so happy - do it today.
clunky, unintuitive, time wasting AND tries to upsell you their products
the time required to literally just turn off a running sprinkler when you NEED it off is astoundingly difficult. you try to remove an additional boost then you can’t add another one. all in all, a perfect example of “data driven cloud based solutions” for something that doesn’t need it all
Glitch
I’m not sure what’s going on, I have a client’s controller that doesn’t have their name anymore. Says no devices under their address. Then another client has the first clients name under theirs. Very strange. Another client is trying to make an account through the app and it’s not working for them. Pls fix.
Can't Skip More Than One Day Ahead
You can't skip more than one day ahead for schedules. So if you want to skip the next 2 days of a schedule, you can't. You have to do it 2 days in a row.
Apple support/matter
Wish Apple/matter support would happen. Now that this is around maybe it would work better then the HomeKit support that went so bad. If this does not happen I may be forced to leave Rachio. Another thing is you can get all their offerings/supported products in Canada.
Best Controller!
As professional irrigator I must say nothing comes close to Rachio! It just works! Customer service rocks! Customers and myself are very very happy!
Fix Wifi!
Wifi keeps disconnecting with the latest update. Please fix.
Great app, but lacks good Apple HomeKit integration
Rachio is a great app, but lacks a good Apple HomeKit integration . Fails a lot
Disappointed
I have had my Rachio sprinkler controller about three years now. It is the least reliable WiFi device on my network. It drops offline and will not reconnect without manual intervention. When I am away for extended periods, this is a problem. I have gone so far as to put a dedicated Eero network node on the wall directly behind the controller. While the network comes right back after a power outage, the Rachio does not. The concept of a WiFi sprinkler controller is great, but this company has poor execution.
They’re having trouble
Updated the app this week. Now all we get is an error message that they’re “having trouble getting your account information”, rendering it completely inaccessible and unusable.
Smart Watering
My water bill is lower and my grass is much greener. Thanks Rachio
Keeps losing WIFI connection

Basic functionalities missing
Smart hose timer is certainly the adopted son here with basic functionalities not available through the app and no integration options either. There should be a quick manual start stop option through the app, the only option should not be the quick default run. Allow decent integrations for the hose timer, allow start stop through the api (not only start quick default run, and you cannot stop it while it’s running). Even bulbs are compatible with Alexa/Google and IFTTT these days, the what’s your excuse? You call the product “Smart”, but it’s not very smart though.
Good design but!!
We need Apple Watch support.at least run schedule and watering every zone apart.no one is listening as if they don’t care. I gave 3 stars for the support.
Controller
I’m glad my old one went out that I had for 20 years. This is the best one I’ve had. I kind of had my doubts, but I love it easy set up everything
Terrible Interface
I toggle the zones to “enabled” and then anywhere I click to change for example watering duration the SAME ZONE SAYS FLIPPING DISABLED. make it freaking make sense. I’m 22. I’ve used technology my entire life. This app is genuinely terrible.
La langue
J’aimerais que ce soit en français. HCroteau
App and controller are great
App and controller are great, but it’s headed down the path of being annoying with how many things they try to sell you. Last two years they just keep trying upsells and add. For that, 3/5 stars. Actually. 2 stars. They promised and had HomeKit support at one point, it never worked. Still doesn’t.
Awesome
So easy to learn and very user friendly. Convenience is worth the cost. You literally work your system from the couch

Great app
This app has taken a load off my back. It is reliable, technical and covers everything. The only concern for me was that I found the learning curve higher than many other apps that I have.
Outdated controller
After 1 year my controller is outdated. Rachio isn’t keeping up with better home wifi. I upgraded my wifi and nowRachio won’t work. So I have to look for an older inferior router to run separately. Also, feedback from tech support was really prompt, but everytime I would talk to them it would be a new agent that would recommend the same solutions that didn’t work. I would hold off purchasing until the show some progressive upgrades to keep up with technology.
Using it for years
Got it as a birthday present, installed myself (took me an hour probably). One of the best presents I have ever got. It still works perfectly and is mostly in “fire and forget” mode. Highly recommend. Hope the company continues to exist and to work :)
The HUB Sucks
The Rachio hub sucks really, really bad. I’ve had to reconfigure my entire network multiple times to try to create a pure, simple 2.4 GHz connection with WPA2 only, and the stupid thing will still not connect.
Liked a lot when I first installed it
Now home kit doesn’t work it not the product I purchased. And it’s been broken for months
Need added features
App need the ability to make multiple quick runs, one after another. Would also like to see what the smart cycle is going to run like.
Great controller
Easy to use, very user friendly.
Editing is horrible
So every time you want to edit your scheduled days it resets the length of run for each zone. This is nonsense. If I want to change days that’s my business and I will change my run times if I want.
Problema app
No logro entrar a app apple dice que está teniendo inconvenientes para obtener información de mi cuenta la he desinstalado y vuelto a instalar y persiste Agradezco ayuda I can't get into App Apple says he's having trouble getting information from my account, I've disinstalled it and reinstalled and persisted I appreciate help
New
Love it! Super cool. I hope it stays free!
Schedules don’t work.
Trying to set it to run 3 days a week. Bit it has a mind of its own only runs once in 25 days. Completely useless. Have to run manually every other day. Worse than the old no app sprinkler system I had.
Excellent app and product but don’t penalise those in Aus
Can’t access all features due to Rachio 3 being illegal in Aus. Forced to buy Rachio 2 where not all features are enabled (weather zone plus), annoying. Apart from that, very impressive.
