Constant problems
Should be convenient but it’s always full of problems. Won’t take payment, tickets disappearing. The app is unusable.
Gute Ticketapp
Bietet fast alles was man braucht. Unter der aktuellen iOS Version 26.6.1 geht das Hinzufügen zum Wallet leider nicht.
Very slow, a bit buggy
Takes ages to do anything. Also it would seem that if you manage to select the fair zone ABC before the departure station loads, it can switch back to zone AB once it stops spinning, which could get you fined if you didn’t notice.
Funktioniert zu oft nicht.
An und für sich eine gute und schöne App. Aber wirklich richtig oft kann ich meine gekauften Tickets nicht aktivieren. Manchmal weiche ich auf die Fahrinfo App aus. Jetzt klappt beides nicht. Kann passieren. Sollte aber nicht so oft sein. Und bitte: Gebt doch einfach ein Feedback in der App. Oder macht ne Unterseite, die die Verfügbarkeit eurer APIs anzeigt. So ist das sehr frustrierend und ich hab als Backup immer Papiertickets in der Handyhülle.

Delay activation of Welcome to Berlin ticket
Purchased a 48 hr Welcome to Berlin ticket before arriving in Berlin. It activated immediately vs giving me the chance to activate or validate it later. Tech support was no help. Poor user interface for a very common purchase option!

Danke. Das Problem der Sichtbarkeit mit den 4 Fahrten Tickets ist zügig gelöst worden. Wenn mir die App nun auch zuverlässig anzeigt an welcher Haltestelle ich mich befinde, dann gibt es volle 5 Sterne.
Slow, Too much fraud prevention
Location detection is super slow. Takes at least 10 seconds to find closest station when buying a ticket. Then the fraud prevention features are just annoying and tbh just makes me wanna not buy tickets.
A scam
Happily takes your money but you don’t get the service and it’s impossible to get any help.
Great Option for Tourists
This app is incredibly easy to use. It makes taking the metro so easy.
Bad App
I bought a ticket and my card was charged but when I went into the app it showed no transaction history and said I had purchases no tickets.

Nach Update auf die oben genannte Version sind frisch gekaufte Tickets nicht mehr vorhanden. Auch die Tickethistorie hat ihren letzten Eintrag vom 26.06.26. Euer Ernst? Testet ihr eigentlich, bevor ihr veröffentlicht? Stellt Mobile App Entwickler ein, die wissen, was sie tun. Ich könnte nur noch kot*en. Ich behalte mir jetzt den Gang zur Verbraucherzentrale vor, so stinksauer bin ich.
Monthly tickets disappearing randomly
Throughout February, the monthly Abo/subscription ticket can appear then vanish from one moment to the next. I had to go to BVG office for a printed ticket to avoid the fines, delays, etc. that being caught without a valid ticket leads to. We are not allowed to print out a ticket ourselves, so without an app that works close to 100%, let alone one at 50%, the words that come to mind are: disaster, Abzocke, Schande, usw. By the way, I tried all the “tricks”, namely logging out then back in, turning phone on/off, etc.. all to no avail. Nö, this is an IT mess on the BVG side, and the riders/customers deserve much much better.

Leider gibt es keine Möglichkeit ein Ticket für einen bestimmten Tag zu erwerben und dieses dann Z.B. Oma oder Erzieherin weiterreichen.

Such a perfect app!
Terrible experience
A ticket got activated as soon as it was purchased without a warning. Had to buy another ticket when I actually got to the train station. It took me a few attempts for the transaction to go through. Very disappointed with the extra money spent.

New version is a step backwards
The new Dec 24 version is a big step backwards. Slower and twice as many clicks to activate a 4 ticket journey. It still needs an internet connection to validate each ticket of the 4 ticket packs which is a big issue when internet is not available. Shame.
Manchmal funktioniert sie auch
Du zahlst entweder 4€ in Sichtweite des Bahnhofs und musst dir dann ein Uber für 27€ bestellen oder du steigst einfach ein, zahlst 4€ und 60€ für das Schwarzfahrticket weil deine karte erst in 60 Sekunden gültig ist. Auf jeden Fall können 4 Fahrten im Monat schon 32€ also ein ALG2 Ticket decken. Wir können also nicht lesen und nicht rechnen und bekommen es trotzdem hin.
Wonderfully simple
This is the absolutely indispensable App for travel in Berlin. Easy to use. However, many things about Berlin travel are not so simple. You CANNOT get out of the bus via the front doors. You have to open the doors yourself! The BUS stops are marked with an H which I now learn stands for HALTESTELLE (Bus stop) Gute Reise!! 🙃
Won’t let me add payment option
It’s so weird. The app won’t let me add a payment option. Gives me an error message instead.
Great service, but unclear ticket activation
BVG offers great service and the app works smoothly. However, when buying a single ticket, the “Valid from: Now” detail isn’t well highlighted. Many visitors (including me) assume they can activate later, as with paper tickets. A clearer prompt would make the experience even better!
Can I please pay?
Apple Pay and PayPal yield an unknown error when trying to pay. So I had to ride the bus like a true Berliner without paying.

Ich kann seit sechs Monaten über die App kein Busticket kaufen, da ich die Zahlungsart nicht einstellen kann beziehungsweise ändern kann. Dort steht immer bitte versuchen Sie es noch mal es ändert sich nicht

V. 2.0.30: inzwischen funktioniert der Kauf wieder, aber bereits gekaufte Tickets (ich hatte noch eines vom 4-Block übrig) ist verschwunden.
Wonderful app!
This app is a lifesaver! I made an account and set it up with PayPal. Now whenever I need a ticket, I just take out my smartphone. No need to waste time going to ticket machines, waiting in line at them, or getting out cash. The electronic ticket also shows the time left on it and all the records of your ticket purchases go on your credit card.
Token expired
I have not used the app for a while and now I get a toast that token is expired and can’t use my tickets or even log out. I had to delete the app and install again

Be aware of the 60 second delay when activating a ticket.
Didn’t accept Apple Pay or US card
Looks like a great app but perhaps the payment is too secure. I wasted half an hour trying to buy a ticket. A similar app in Munich gave me no trouble. I’m not going to bother with emailing Support when the ticket machine takes tap to pay.
App ist gut, Support nicht vorhanden
Irgendwann konnte ich keine Tickets mehr aktivieren aus meinen Viererblocks. Schließende App neu starten das iPhone nichts hat was gebracht. Anfragen an den Support blieben unbeantwortet. Der Chatbot ist völlig unbrauchbar und absolut Nerv tötend. Nach einer Woche ohne Antwort auf meine Support Anfrage habe ich die App komplett deinstalliert und neu installiert. Dann ging sie wieder..

Can’t add new payments
Have used the app for years and now all of a sudden I can’t add a credit/ debit card or use Apple Pay to pay for tickets. The other two apps have the same exact issue. It’s incredibly annoying and there’s no one you can reach out to for help… 😡😡
Nifty little app
Excellent, fully featured app which helps you travel across Berlin. Since yesterday, however, it seems to have stopped working, it won’t allow any purchases (have been using ApplePay), despite reinstalling, changing payment method etc. Schade!

This is probably the best transport app I have ever used for buying tickets and getting around a city. Simple, fast, functional. Essential app for those visiting or living in Berlin.
None of the payment options worked
What a horrible experience - it initially worked well, but then the problems started. I created an account and added three payment options, a credit card, Apple Pay, and a debit card linked to my European bank account. I did get emails that the methods were approved for use in the app. But every time I selected a ticket for a tram or bus, the app told me that the payment option I selected would not work. The location feature also did not seem to work. It kept on thinking that I was at the BER airport, even though my location worked fine for both Google Maps or Uber.

After last update cannot buy any tickets.
Lost 1 out of 4 tickets with the interface
Watch to app interface when buying 4 x tickets in advance. It offers a default of using the tickets “now” so “lost” by choosing the wrong box.

Can’t use existing tickets
Tried to use my existing ticket segment this morning. Didn’t work. Tried several times. Had to scramble to get a paper ticket. Through its many iterations of apps, BVG never fails to disappoint.
Great but can be made easier to use
Very handy… but it would be improved if you could buy more than a single person’s ticket at a time.
Latest update doesn’t work
Can’t buy new tickets, can’t access tickets already in wallet. Not worked since the update.
Official ID required but no 2 min rule
Update: my thanks to the developer for the correction that the ticket is immediately valid and you do not have to wait two minutes before boarding. Unfortunately there are many reports of fines being issued based on this timer. There are still media reports online citing this supposed rule. Otherwise, you are obliged to carry ID with you in the form of a passport or driving licence if you're a foreigner*. So that the ticket can not be transferred to someone else. It's more restrictive and burdensome than a paper ticket. You should not be required to have the risk of losing your passport by carrying it around with you all the time just to meet the arbitrary and pointless needs of the public transport system. *correction: not only foreigners, but German citizens have a national ID card that most always carry.
