Zufall?
Liebes Catan Team, danke für diese „spannende“ Runde, aber ich glaube, euer Würfel-Algorithmus ist kaputt. In einem gerade mal 30-minütigen Spiel (112 Würfe gesamt) wurde die 8 ganze 23-mal und die 7 direkt 21-mal gewürfelt. Was demnach bedeutet, über 40 % der Gesamtwürfe verteilen sich auf exakt zwei Zahlen. Also ob man da noch von Zufall sprechen kann? Es macht schlichtweg keinen Spaß, wenn das Spiel komplett von solchen statistischen Ausreißern dominiert wird. Da läuft irgendwie etwas schief! Und selbst wenn die 7 in einem Spiel einmal rar gesät ist, kann ich verdächtig oft ‚vorhersagen‘, wann sie dennoch auftaucht… Ich finde den Rest des Spiels mega sexy, versteht mich nicht falsch, ich liebe dieses Spiel, jedoch kann ich felsenfest behaupten, dass das damals, als wir das Brettspiel gesuchtet haben, nie so extrem war…klar, kommt vor dass ne Zahl häufiger bzw mal weniger gewürfelt wird, ich kann mich aber an keins erinnern wo ich mich da so sehr geärgert hab wie hier ..ich geb trotzdem 5 Sterne weil’s echt einer meiner Lieblingsspiele ist
Please fix
Can’t finish games due to game freezing no matter what I do
Annoying bug
Love the game but there is one persistent bug that’s not been fixed. If you hit a trade too quickly it seems to freeze the whole game and you have to exit and abandon it.
Frustrated
I’ve been playing the solo version for years. Since the last update, if I don’t finish the game in one setting, it closes down and I lose the game when I open it back up. So I have to use another sun and start a new game. And if I don’t get that one finished in one setting, I have wasted two suns and never get a game completed. It used to be that the game would save and I could go back into it and finish the game if I didn’t get it all done in one setting. And the sun would show how much longer for it to recharge. Now it doesn’t. Very frustrating
Great app but small issue
Great app but a small issue when adding friend to game. You have to completely close app to play more than one game and reinvite
Relaxing strategy game
Worth buying the first board which gains you unlimited online play. Games last 20 plus minutes and I find the music relaxing. Great strategy game :)

Sehr gute Umsetzung mit kleinen Schwächen im Online-Modus
Catan Universe funktioniert insgesamt sehr gut und läuft flüssig. Das Spiel ist sehr nah am Original-Brettspiel umgesetzt und bietet dadurch ein authentisches Catan-Erlebnis. Verbesserungspotenzial sehe ich vor allem im Online-Bereich. Manchmal bricht ein Spiel ab, wenn ein Spieler kurzzeitig die Verbindung verliert oder nicht mehr online ist. Hier wäre eine automatisierte Aktualisierung bzw. ein Refresh alle 10–20 Sekunden hilfreich. Alternativ oder zusätzlich wäre ein Button sinnvoll, mit dem man die Ansicht manuell aktualisieren und dem Server signalisieren kann, dass die eigene Verbindung wiederhergestellt wurde. Insgesamt eine sehr gelungene App, die vor allem im Online-Modus noch etwas zuverlässiger werden könnte.

When game works, it’s fun
Every fifth game or so, there is a glitch and ruins a game. Also the AI players are terrible. How hard is it to have logic to steal from the player with the most points? It just randomly targets one of the players regardless of points

I play 1 or 2 games every morning on non-school days. It’s entertaining but not social (God knows I’m not ready for conversation in the morning), and is overall a great game! I hope new expansion are being made soon (Catan: New Energies is like a million dollars, and I would love to play it on this app)
The game does not work
You can play about 50% of an online game before it crashes and won’t let you play your next turn or even back out of the game. Don’t waste your money on this trash
Spielspaß mit Verbesserungspotential
Anfangs ist es etwas schwierig mit der Geschwindigkeit der Bots mitzukommen, aber das ist mittlerweile kein Problem mehr. Das Online ist perfekt für Catan-Fans, die keine Lust haben das Spiel zu Hause aufzubauen. Bei den Online Spielen gibt es leider oft Verbindungsprobleme und nach einer Weile fehlt es etwas an Abwechslung. Super wäre es, wenn die Szenarien bzw. die Erweiterung „Händler&Barbaren“, sowie die Möglichkeit eigene Karten zu erstellen in die App eingefügt werden könnten. Das würde nochmal mehr Abwechslung in das Spielerlebnis bringen.
Don’t purchase!
How is it possible that a game so simple to program and set up, is so poorly created? The thing bugs out, you get kicked, and you have to start the game all over again. If it takes less than a grand to get this fixed, I will personally donate to whoever the developer is so that we can all play this game virtually once and for all.
Good quality but so hard to beat the AI
The game quality is great but the AI is so hard to beat. They refuse to trade with you no matter what but indiscriminately trade with themselves. 7’s roll almost every time you have over 8 cards and it feels like the dice are not random at all. It’s a great game & a lot of fun but so difficult to beat the AI it gets really frustrating. Feels like 3 against 1.

Incredibly buggy
Don’t make any in game purchases to play with your friends. Use Colonist.io instead. I wasted my money and my friends wasted their money. Shameful that this game is still a bug riddled mess still. Apple, you should remove this train-wreck of an app from your store.
Love it
Ik speel het heel graag, eenmalig kopen. Kan ook met vrienden spelen heel leuk. Soms loopt hij vast maar werkt meestal prima.
Games freeze often
Really disappointing. In the middle of a game and timer freezes, or dice freeze. Far too often you have to quit a game because of the issues.
It’s fun but full of software bugs. 🙄😢
I really enjoy playing Catan Universe as a method to play the AI or with others without the board. There seems to be a constant issue with software bugs after every important update or most times I have to leave the app. That forces me to cancel a game I am already well into. The admins who run the programming behind the app need to put some attention into it to where it doesn’t happen as often as it does now.
1000 Bugs
Ein wirklich gut gemachtes Spiel. Leider sind die Entwickler der App vor einigen Jahren auf einen eigenen Server umgezogen. Seit dem stürzt die App mitten im Spiel ständig ab. Mit jedem Update wurde es schlimmer. Aktuell startet die App gar nicht mehr. Ein schwarzer Bildschirm beim Start und Ende.
PLAY COLONIST INSTEAD
Paid for the full game version and very disappointed. Game constantly crashes. Timer doesn’t apply to their own bots when someone quits the game or loses signal.

Top App. Gibt’s aber leider paar Problemchen. Verliere immer wieder kostenlose Sonnen auf Grund irgendwelchen verbindungsschwierigkeiten. Warum kann man nicht wie bei online Sitzungen auch in offline wieder in die Sitzung einsteigen, wenn man aus dem Spiel fliegt? Gefühlt kein Timer beim traiden, wenn man auf ein Traid antwortet, aber der Opponent nicht mehr reagiert. Musste schon paar Mal das Spiel abbrechen, weil es über 5 Minuten an der Stelle gehangen hat.
Constant bugs
The game itself is great…..when it works. About 20% (1 in 5 games) of the time it glitches out to where you cannot place your resource, the timer finishes but it doesn’t move, or you get “frozen” where you can’t play the game but can chat, send emojis, etc. it seems to require a delete and reinstall, of the app and that still doesn’t always fix it. There is no mechanism for report errors or communicating with the developers, and it doesn’t adjust your drop in ELO or rankings to account for “losses” that occur because of an error on the software side.
Takes Some Extra Work
It disconnects too easily. I tried to use a sun go play solo, but I got disconnected and it showed that I didn’t have any suns even though I never played the game.
Lieblingsspiel mit Fehlern
Ich liebe das Spiel und nutze die App fast täglich. Seit einigen Wochen (nach der Jester-Season) erfolgt allerdings keine automatische Spielzuteilung mehr! Sehr traurig :(
Ai
The ai for some reason acts in a way that it knows what numbers will be rolled for each turn and will also know what development cards are next. Very frustrating to play with ai players simply because it just feels stupidly rigged. Would recommend the ai be reviewed. I understand that the ai is simply choosing the most logical play but it seems as if the AI constantly targets me when getting robber or knight. Game is stupid with the ai.
Crashes Constantly
Just installed the game March 2026. Crashes half the time during game play. Seemed promising, but there must be something better
Recharge
The game is fun but the suns taking 12 hours to recharge is ridiculous when your new you play one game then you have to wait 12 hours to play again .. it’s all pushing you to pay for suns and gold!!! MICRO-TRANSACTIONS RUIN GAMES!!! You should provide enough suns to play a couple games to get achievements started !!! 👎🏼 👎🏼 👎🏼 👎🏼 👎🏼
Glitchy
I opened the app, even signed up for an account, but when I went to play a game, something glitched and it wouldn’t start the game, I tried backing out and going back in, but no luck, so I had to close the app and re-launch it. When I did that, my sun token was gone, so it’s telling me I need to wait 12 hours… one heck of a game… quite the hook…I’m really sold… even setting up m6 character, the game just feels cheap and glitchy, it’s unfortunate because it looks cool, but it just feels like they hired too many designers and not enough programmers…
Brilliant Catan app 👌
Really good Catan app. Good graphics, easy to navigate, and a nice Catan community of people around the world that are mostly friendly. You can tell the makers are good people as they gift us with free tournaments at times that are a lot of fun. Love it
Paid and lost access
Paid for this yrs ago and now some of the features r gone. It says I need to pay for it.
Bug?
What is wrong with the game? It keeps trying to put me in a game I can’t escape.
I can’t build anything
My first game on and the controls are already pissing me off but I’m figuring it out, then I’m ready to build my second city or roads, either one I’m fine with, and it won’t let me do either of them I press on the empty space or my settlement to build and nothing is happening. There is no robber or anything, why would I even play

Como juego igual que el de mesa pero como app va fatal se cuelga demasiado pa ser de pago y cierras partidas y a veces esta la partida abierta dias y no puedes jugar.

There are SO MANY glitches and bugs in this app. I feel like I wasted money buying the expansions. Great game, but due to interface not recognizing certain selections AND the game randomly looping people, it makes the game so frustrating. Can’t even finish the game. Better luck on the off brand apps for this game.
Players leaving is an issue
This could easily be 4 or 5 stars if a few more things ran smoothly. The main issue i encounter is when other players leave the game, ai takes over. Sometimes it will go into limbo and never switch to ai after someone never plays their turn. This ruins the game. Another online issue is that i’ve switched screens to answer a text or something just to come back to the game not working

Years and Still Poor AI Programming
Game could be great, but the bots have never worked. Freeze your game, screw up your rating, leave you locked. Game is a good example of why bots and AI should not be relied upon. Game would be better just leaving a quitters pieces on board and skipping that players turn the remainder of the game the way humans would do if they were in person.

Kan niet inloggen, want dan geeft hij aan dat er een nieuwe versie beschikbaar is, maar 2.6.3. is al de nieuwste die ik heb. Hoe kan dit opgelost worden?
Freezes
Server freezes and it won’t end an online player’s turn multiple matches in a row. We all had to just quit, wasted my 45 min playing half of two matches. Why did I pay $5 for this?
Seems to have declined
Since the updates the play on this app hasn’t been as good. Still can’t change to a 3 player game on The Great Canal scenario. I have noticed that the deck of specialty cards are inconsistent (three Inventor cards played within 10-15 turns?? There’s only supposed to be only 2 available - there’s no way the entire deck gets played and refreshed so quickly.). Roads or ships get added along coast lines where the opposite was first played upon set up. And the game is slow or freezes.

Can’t place road
I couldn’t even get past the tutorial as it won’t place roads.
Game crashes ALOT
This has been crashing on me so often I’m on the verge of deleting the app. A shame because it’s fun but I paid money to get to 8 or 9 points for the game to crash and kick me out.
