After one day, I am deleting the app
I love scrabble But not this app. If you pay to not have ads, than perhaps it might be bearable. Beyond spending more time with ads than with playing scrabble, the abundance of pop ups, sudden prizes and graphics that would dazzle a 5 year old, so very little time is spent actually playing the game.
Bring the old Scrabble game back!
An ad runs after EVERY SINGLE TURN. Also says it uses the Merriam-Webster dictionary, but I’ve entered at least three words that I verified ARE in the M-W dictionary, yet it said they were invalid. There should be a way to submit words for inclusion in future updates. I like to play against the computer because I often stop in the middle of the game and return to it later. When I play medium, I almost always win, but when I play hard, the computer either gives me 6-7 vowels (one-pointers) or 6-7 consonants (I currently have one A, four Es, an O, and a U, while my “opponent” gets letters that allows it to make words like cowboy, anorexia, batik, and cowards. UPDATE 8/21/2026: It now uses the NASPA word list, which is missing words that are defined in a dictionary. Yurt comes to mind, but there are others. I still don’t see a way to submit words for them to add to their word list. I’ve been playing at the hard level and my number of wins is similar to Zoey’s (the computer), so I guess it’s gotten better. But when Zoey wins, it’s usually because “she” got a lot of the high-value letters or was able to use all seven tiles for one word and I got mostly one-pointers and/or all consonants or all vowels I had FIVE I’s and two other vowels at one time yesterday. Nonetheless, I ‘m still practically addicted to the game.

Not consistent
I play Scrabble all the time and consistently win the medium game. When I switch to hard, all of a sudden I get 7 vowels and can’t make a word! What the hell? It happens more often than not. I appreciate the luck of the draw in a normal game but this is ridiculous!
BEST GAME ONLINE
I have been playing Scrabble since I was a youngster and I have to say once you play Scrabble with this app, you will never play Scrabble any other way again!!!! I very highly recommend this game to anybody who enjoys playing Scrabble. I can't even think of a better way to play this game!!!! 👍👍
A shame
The game is absolute garbage. You can’t simply play scrabble the way you could on the old app. Congratulations on ruining an enjoyable and intellectually stimulating game, demeaning it with idiotic animations and features designed to appeal to those with an attention span that can’t handle more than seven seconds before a shiny object is required to reel them back in. You have made this unplayable and it is a shame.

I love scrabble!!! I love the game!!! It’s the optional conversation part I am having trouble with. All I want to do is play and I get older men trying to hit on me through conversations. And when I don’t respond they just up and resign the game- so I never finish any game fully except with the computer.

Fun, but buggy!
I’ll update this review as I find them, but currently its the solo adventure minigame - it says “congratulations!” and then gives no reward at all (has happened 4 times) before moving on! Not sure if the “daily check-in” reward is only rewarded when you play a turn that day, but I only ever saw 2 of the 10 day things in my inbox! And this isn’t a bug, but I sure do hate logging in every single time I open the app, is there a way to make that not a thing? I’d love that!
Beware
I understand that there are ads that support the game but some of them do not time out and you can’t quit them. Even though I enjoy playing Scrabble, this mobile game is not fun.

It’s not a one start it’s a no start. The game only lets the computer win when you are playing by yourself. The computer gets the points for the extra words. The computer gets the good letters too because every single time I’ve played with the computer especially on “medium “ the computer get every single good letters too and I’m stuck with duplicates

I’m reaching out here bc there’s no way to reach customer support for Scrabble GO on that link. I’m getting messages from opponents on this game. The problem is, I have no way to KNOW when I’ve received one. There’s no way to change that such as a setting.
Ridiculously long ads
Right now I’m waiting for a five minute ad to cycle through so I can actually play the game. It’s fun to play, however, a lot of the words that are recognized on other Scrabble games are not recognized on this one.

I downloaded this app because a friend asked me to play him. I usually played Scrabble by Mattel and EA games. No ads, frills, just a straightforward Scrabble game. I find Scrabble Go with its pop ups, rewards, different tiles and numerous ads really distracting. Even popping up in the middle of a game. OK make money from ads, but continuous development of the game? Its Scrabble! How much development does it need?

Old dictionary
This game needs to update its dictionary. Any word used by the machine is automatically a word. If you use a word that’s in the dictionary that may not be common or a word they like they call it invalid.
Opt Out
Hi I love the Scrabble part and I also subscribe but please can there be somewhere to opt out of the card collecting! I love playing some of the other games but so much time is spent waiting for the collection of cards, chests diamonds etc that I’m sure most Scrabble players have no interest in! Also I pay monthly and still have to put up with ads in between Duel games if I don’t use my tokens!

A disappointed player
Initially, I enjoyed the game but as I played longer, there were ads after every word placed by me. There were so many words the game labeled “invalid” that were in every dictionary and my “opponent’s words were nowhere to be found. Sex that I put in was invalid until my opponent played it.Not worth the frustration 😕
Very fun, please let us view previous games
This is my favorite iPhone app! The “Classic” mode is great and lets you play without the annoyingly distracting graphics that are in the other versions, so if you don’t like those just change your settings to “Classic” mode and start challenging friends to play! One helpful improvement would be to let players see a game that has just ended. After someone makes the last move, the gameboard quickly flashes on the screen and then disappears permanently, making it impossible to enjoy seeing what the winning/losing move was or to figure out who started the previous game (most people take turns). Please let us see the most recent, finished game/moves just like we can see the current game/moves. Merely showing a picture of the finished game to help us remember who played the first word wouldn’t help, because sometimes a player uses the first move to exchange tiles. Other than that, this is a really great app. It’s a little pricey to remove the ads, but enjoyable enough to be worth it to me and my friends.
No the best
Download app to play with friend however after two games Ads starting taking over the app. 2 min add after every turn. They make it ever hard to “exit” out of the ads. 99% of the time you will be redirected to the App Store for downloading the app in the ads. Game do not pop up showing active games. I’ll send games to friends right next to me and nothing comes over from their end. Not a good app.
Love the game
Really enjoy playing but I don’t like the ads that come up after every move you make. You can pay to be add free but it’s nearly £5 per month so I just have to grin and bear it.

The game was fun for a bit. But suddenly adter a few days the ads started to increase. Having ads in a free game is absolutely understandable. The worst moments come right after you play a word and the screen goes dark. The ad pops up and it becomes clear you can’t exit out of it. Some of them force you to to start to download the game. That part is inexcusable. Eventually you wind up playing scrabble to watch ads. Deleted the app.
Too many ads
Love the game, but the ads are unbearable. Literally after every single word I spell an advertisement is shoved into my face completely ruining my focus and immersion. The “VIP” feature from connecting a FB account as well as turning on notifications does next to nothing as far as reducing the amount of ads that pop up. I would gladly pay $10 for this app to never show me another advertisement again. I refuse to pay $8 per month to go ad-free, that’s outrageous and greedy!
AD FREE SCRABBLE GAME
How do I find an ad free scrabble game. I can’t stand watching these 3 minutes ads in between games. If there are ads in this game I am deleting it.

Great but annoying
I love Scrabble go and have played it for a few years now, but just lately the game keeps crashing and you lose your rewards sometimes too when this happens. I hope you will be able to fix this soon as it just spoils the game for us all.

Toooooooo many ads
The game is fun, but the ads are extremely annoying and to remove is too expensive. I understand ads help keep gangs free, but this game has some of the most frequent ads I have ever experienced. In the adventure mode basically after every turn, there’s a pop-up for an ad. 7.99 a month is extreme or you can pay 5.99 for seven days… like come on, make it make sense. A reasonable flat fee is definitely doable.

Throws me out
Been playing a while but now it throws me out of every game before I can put my word in. I thought it might need updating so I did that but it is still throwing me out. Very frustrating.
Where have the Ads gone?
Edit: I found out the ads came back after return from my holiday. Afraid to reveal my conclusion in case the glitch is fixed! Good luck! Have barely tolerated playing this game for years due to ads. Really only played because a friend refused to play WWF instead. Last few days - no ads. A joy! Thanks. Hope you don’t fix the glitch.

Just gave me a full-minute ad between games, which by the way is longer than the double unstoppable ads YouTube gives. Where does this end?
Two suggestions
Love playing the game but have two suggestions 1: lessen the amount of ads. Seeing them after playing a word is frustrating. 2. Have the option to share to Facebook.
Good game but mild issues
It’s a good game overall, when the person you’re playing against is responsive and I enjoy the fun little side quests. There are a lot of staged players, that constantly challenge you, which can get annoying. I don’t know if there’s been an update or something, but lately it’s hasn’t been allowing me to watch ads to win extra prizes in chests (but it has no problem with ads between plays during a match) and it’s been kicking me out of the middle of working on a level in puzzle path. Edit: Not worth it 3 yrs later. Literally ads after every word you put down. Staged players are still there, and still annoying. Honestly deleted it, it’s unbearable to play now.
