CHEAT
Intelligence can only be a factor after the cards are fairly dealt. When AI opens most hands with 5-7 made, it’s cheating. Just played where the deepest we went into the deck, was 4 cards and I had zero melds or runs during and that is not that unusual. If you drop down to medium the game slows down too much. Originally I was looking for a challenge but all I got was cheated. It’s so friggin frustrating. You’re looking for a challenge and a fun game but all you get is a setup where AI WINS and not because AI is smarter but because the program is set to cheat. A monkey could win with 5-7 made off the deal. Addendum: I decided to continue using the app as I like the look and I work around the crooked dealing. BUT this morning I bought it changing cards. So I replayed the hand and it did it again but an ad popped up so I couldn’t get a screenshot of it. Changed a 5♣️ to a 5❤️ and that got it below 10. Sad…
Very Reasonable!
The word “reasonable” isn’t exactly the kind of glowing praise both devs and potential users are looking for, but in this context it’s VERY high praise. (1) The ads are reasonable; you can choose between small banner ads during game play or full video ads in between hands. I chose banner ads. Duh. They don’t cover or distract from game play. (2) The asking price to go ad-free is INCREDIBLY REASONABLE at $2.99. (3) That $2.99 is a ONE-TIME FEE. Not a stupid subscription. (4) The A.I. opponent is also quite reasonable. (Unlike many I’ve tried.) The win/loss ratio is close enough to real life play so that you can actually ENJOY playing. Other Gin Rummy apps I’ve tried (and there are many!) have an unrestricted A.I. opponent that goes Gin at least every other hand. Zaps the fun right out of playing. The graphics are verrrry outdated, very basic, very computerized-looking. The UI/graphics could use a serious update. BUT… *because of the other very REASONABLE points I mentioned, I’m going to purchase the ad-free option.* I’m always happy to support an app/dev that doesn’t ruin an app by excessive, obnoxious ads or high priced subscription models.

The AI doesn’t outplay you, it’s just luckier than you. Lame.
Fun game, but
I play a lot of Gin. This game abd tiger abd real card games. Statistics show this is the only tune I watch the house go GIN at second move - regularly, And regularly turn over the house’ turn over their last card which is the one I was waiting for. These plays could happen in any game, but never do as frequently as they do in GIN. I’ll keep checking to see if hands are it longer prearranged.

As bad as all the others
At least this app has very few ads. But that’s all I can say for it. Baffled by the high rating of this game. I’m in my fifties, I’ve been playing gin since I can remember. To be humble, I started the game on “medium”. I played twenty hands before I laid down prior to the opponent. It often laid down in less than six exchanges. After another twenty in much the same vein, I tried “easy”. Did the machine play less well? Who knows, because suddenly I was getting what I needed so quickly it wouldn’t have mattered. So I went back to “medium”, altered the rules to a higher target, no knock, no line bonus & now the “artificial intelligence” is getting big gin every third hand, often in less than six cards, so the overall game is still just as short. There is no AI here. There is only what every single card game in the App Store has: deck manipulation to create the illusion of a challenge. Probably because no one at the software company has ever played cards or read a book on game theory or basic strategy for this game. So the only way they can create difficulty levels is to cheat the deck.
need multiplayer and total scores
Excellent AI, this is the only gin rummy i’ve played that isn’t easy to beat every time. And it is the only gin rummy with Hollywood scoring on the internet, which is how gin is scored at most clubs. I would have given it five stars if it had multiplayer mode or even if it tallied total final score with box bonuses (hands won), game bonuses, shutout bonuses, and if it multiplied final scores times a user-determined dollar value per point. I’ll change my rating to 5 stars if i get either one.
Irksome bug
Great app of a classic game. Problem is if I knock before sorting I lose points. Honestly you can’t fix that?
Good but not great
The game is good but has a problem. If those of us with fat fingers inadvertently push the wrong button there is no way to recall the move. Discarding is so fast and there is no way to go back. When discarding there should be a way to recall your most recent move. I would add an extra star if that would be corrected.
Pure Gin Rummy
If you want just a pure gin rummy game this is the one. No bells and whistles to get in the way of your game. I’ve played 50-60 games and find the AI on this app is quite fair. I’ve won a little more than lost but I have the challenge level set to medium. I despise ads and have been searching for a GR game where I can still purchase the removal of ads. Not only does this app allow you to do so, the price is very reasonable. If you are an old school purist, this GR app is the one for you.
Not worth your time
Your and the AI player are both dealt very similar hands so both are both looking for the same cards. Its not random.
Random dealing of cards
Recently I found that there is a preference for my opposing player. There seem to be many more occasions where the opposing player wins after only one or two card pics. Or even no pics at all. Meaning that they are given a winning hand frequently. I’ve been playing this game a long time, it was one of my favourite. I know what random card dealing looks like, but recently, that’s not the case.
What’s up with this game?

AI CHEATS
I enjoy the game but it’s way to convenient that when I’m winning and suddenly the AI gets everything that they need to win the next 5 rounds to win the game.

Unfair AI game play
“AI” will have meld within a couple of draws again and again while I have had none over the course of several hands I’ve played. Let’s me know melds are being dealt out. Not worth playing.
The Best Version I've Found
I like the simplicity of this game, despite it having good options about appearance and rules for play. I took off a star because in the year I've played, it seems set to limit me to 35% win rate and the AI will get aggressive to win at times, where I don't even play but a card or two before it knocks! That is just not "natural", nor is it fun. But other times, there is more normal (human-type) play that is more satisfying. Overall, I like this version best.
Gin rummy
Anytime you can play a different level of the game, it means the cards are not random. That is a shame
Frustrating
I do like the play. However, I do not like my cards to be sorted for me and I have no way to change them. I also do not like being forced to knock when I do want to go that route. I realize it is AI but I need to make my own decisions. It’s not a challenge.
Nice game but I would like options
It’s such a good game but the only thing I want it to change is it to have options on levels cause when I started playing I lost every single match that’s alll I have to say but not much more besides this I a great game
Bad game
This is by far the worst gin rummy game app I have played. I started on easy which it was I then moved to the next level and I can’t win a game. I can tell I will lose at the start as soon as I see my cards. I get a garbage hand I know I’m losing quick sure enough the ai draws one card and knocks every time. If I win one hand by a few point the ai always catches me with big cards in my hand. Then goes on a 4 hand win streak and gets so far ahead of me I can’t win since if I do win a hand it’s only worth a few points not enough to matter. The ai almost always only draws 1-3 times before it wins while I’m dealt a garbage hand almost every time. Game is not worth playing. I will be deleting this app. Oh and ive been playing gin rummy for 45 years.
Great version of gin rummy
Quick fun game of gin rummy. Kinda hate when my hand shuffles my runs for something different. I have a high percent of wins against the computer
Not realistic
When AI player is dealt out repeatedly, it defies any real game where cards are shuffled.
Straight Gin
I really really hate playing Gin where you can knock!!! It just takes the fun out of the game & you have to listen to so many more ads because knocking quite often ends the hand so fast. So thank you for creating this app with Straight Gin!!!
AI in Moderate is ridiculous
Played 25 games against computer on moderate, I won ONE game. That’s too ridiculous and very a lucky AI. Deleted it. Ads weren’t too bad.
easy to use with no knock option
I really like this game and the added options of no knock! It’s a different version still to the game I learnt but the apps are the same in this respect. The only criticism which is why there are 4 stars is that it’s not particularly aesthetically pleasing and could look more inviting to play. This is the version I prefer having downloaded quite a few apps. Also when you tap to discard a card it gives you a chance to change your mind and you have to tap again to discard; very good idea as on other apps you make a mistake and the card is discarded on the first tap. so I’d give this 4.5 stars ⭐️
Rigged games?
I find it hard to understand how the opponent can win with gin 3 in a row and my card score is around 50.

I was hesitant to try because other gin games left me cold. This game continues to engage me.
REALLY ZERO STARS
The "House" has a ridiculous advantage, making it very frustrating to play.

This AI cheats
I don’t mind the game being programmed to follow a strategy. I do mind that the game keeps winning after just a draw or two, game after game. I do mind that I keep getting so many high cards consistently. I do mine that if I am sitting on a pair and throw one out, the game will immediately give me the third card. I was waiting for. The thing to remember is that you are playing against an opponent that knows every card in the stack and every card you have in your hand.

Very Good, no tricks
This is a fine version of the game. It has some options to play with. I wish I could organize my own melds, but I haven’t seen an option that lets me do that.
Gin rummy on the difficult setting
I suspect the difficult setting is set up to favor the AI player. I never seen anyone/anything get the hands that is consistently felt to the AI opponent.

Rigged
When you play the top level the game is rigged. The AI gets cards dealt that would never happen randomly. Very annoying, ruins the game. I recommend finding a different gin rummy game.

I have lost many a game because I can’t pick up the first card at the beginning of the game that’s on the board it won’t let me and I don’t like it the way they sort out the cars that need to go down the bottom and upset the whole game I think you should be allowed to do it your selfI won’t be playing this game anymore because of that one code when you can’t pick it up at the beginning of the game it’s really annoying it needs to be sorted out
Fast
Played on another app for years got tired of having to buy token almost every month. I’m playing hard and it seems competitive with my level, so I will continue to enjoy playing, I’m a young 78!
Straightforward
It's quite a basic app but it's fine. It works without glitches and doesn't seem either absurdly easy nor give all the best cards to the computer. If you're wanting tournaments, online opponents, gambling etc then look elsewhere but if you want to while away some time or practise your game, this will suit you. Ads are unobtrusive.
