Je demande pour un taxi. Ils me montrent que ça va me coûter entre 22-24$. J’accepte. Ils me gèle dans mon compte 46$. Ils savent que leur 22-24$ est une mensonge éhonté. Le chauffeur s’est placé derrière des autobus et des camions lents pour tous le trajet et ça m’a coûté plus de 31$. Ça c’est une compagnie qui vous dit de supporter les entreprises d’ici parce qu’ils veulent vous crosser.
I’m not sure this app isn’t a scam but am sure it sucks
I've liked using the Curb app to hire cabs when visiting big cities like NYC, Chicago and Boston, but there's no single app for cabs in Montreal like Curb, instead there are several competing apps. Based on some recommendations on reddit, I tried the Teo Taxi app while visiting Montreal and I'm not convinced the app isn't some sort of scam to separate tourists from their money. I tried to book a cab from Marche Jean Talon and for the pick up spot, I entered a specific address (7077 Av Casgrain) of the building that my daughters and I were waiting in front of. We waited for a while as three different times, the Teo Taxi app showed we were assigned a driver who apparently immediately changed their mind and refused the fare -- the app would show a driver had accepted our ride, then within a few seconds it would go back to searching for a driver. The app has a map that's supposed to show the location of your cab driver, but it doesn't seem to have any relation to reality. If you can believe the app's map, our cab at one point appeared to fly directly overhead, traveling diagnoally over city blocks. We picked a good spot to wait where we'd be able to see any approaching cabs a block away, but never saw our driver, who somehow "arrived" at our destination without us being able to see him. We then tried calling the driver through the app. He said he did not speak English and unfortunately, my French is not any better, so he just kept repeating "I am inside!" (inside what, exactly, he could not / would not say). We walked around the entire market block hoping to find him but eventually gave up. The app then charged us anyway for a "no show." Teo Taxi ended up convincing my daughters that Uber is better than cabs. When we gave up on the cab, I ordered an Uber, using the same address the Teo Taxi driver couldn't find. Our driver was there within a couple minutes and got us right to our destination. My daughters asked "why would people use cabs instead of Uber?" Can't say I have a good answer to that one if you're visiting Montreal. Hopefully one of the other Montreal cab apps is better than Teo Taxi, cause this one is worse than useless.
Garbage - Buyers Beware
App trying to compete Uber but the amount it offers at booking is an “estimate”. Actual pricing is higher once you get in the cab as the meter starts. The amount at booking is charged as a deposit. Cabbie tried explaining but clearly had no idea how the app worked. Delete.
The email is in use… ok, then what
On-boarding flow is not very smart. Asks me for my email, then tells me it is already in use and blocks the process, no alternative to resolve. I just took an uber instead.

Pratique... mais pas s'il faut être remboursé.
Il est impossible d'avoir un reçu complet, incluant le numéro de taxe de l'entreprise. Cela est toujours problématique lorsque vient le temps de demander un remboursement à mes employeurs lorsque j'ai à prendre un taxi dans le cadre du travail. Les chauffeurs diffèrent quand à l'impression d'un reçu papier : certains le font pour le prix de la course uniquement, certains ajustent le prix pour prendre en compte le pourboire, certains refusent même catégoriquement d'en remettre. L'application n'offre pas l'option de demander un reçu détaillé, même s'il est émis plus tard, ou envoyé par courriel. Cela ne serait pas un problème. Cela pourrait être même des directives claires quand à la démarche nécessaire et indiquer qui contacter afin de le recevoir. Mais rien de cela n'est possible. J'essaie d'encourager une entreprise québécoise au lieu de faire affaire avec Uber, et là je me retrouve pris avec des factures non remboursées car je n'ai pas le numéro de taxes. Franchement, quelle déception.

La carte de crédit est préprogrammé dans l’appli. C’est rapide pour payer. On peut modifier le % de pourboire. Par défaut: 15%.
Electric not provided
I specifically paid for a higher cost trip to be green and use an electric car option but instead was sent a gas car without asking if that was okay or if I’d prefer waiting or canceling. That’s no okay. I was only willing to pay more for the environment. And the trip was supposed to be 30-35$ and I was charged $45

Tipping should not be preset
I enjoyed my driver and he ride but I believe it should be that we choose our tip amount with each ride and not have it be automatic in the app. In the past I was asked for each ride and I would appreciate to have the same option.

Estimations 100% erronées
Les estimations de temps d’arrivée du taxi sont absolument non fiables. Les 2, 3 minutes s’avèrent du 8, 10 minutes. Cette fonctionnalité induit systématiquement en erreur!
Problem with GPS
The tracking lags and the GPS often sends drivers to the wrong place.
better than uber
Honestly, this company always gets it right. Rides are easy and on time, drivers are courteous and many, if not most, are real taxi drivers. Never been sketchy 🙏🏽

The app estimate are not even close- often 30-50% of what it ends up costing.
Late and charged me double
Driver did not show up even close to when they were supposed to (app said 2 mins arrival was closer to 10) and the 9 min ride ended up being closer to 30 and I missed my train out of montreal. At least it charged me double the high end of the estimate…
Good but needs payment and driver location update
App works well. Doesn’t track driver very well. Also doesn’t allow for payment in car now.
Excellent service, mauvaise app
Le service des chauffeurs est excellent : voitures propres, conduite professionnelle et attitude respectueuse. Les prix sont justes et les temps d’attente sont généralement raisonnables. Par contre, l’application mobile sur iPhone aurait vraiment besoin d’une mise à jour sérieuse. Le temps d’arrivée estimé est complètement faux. Un 1 minute » se transforme en 7 à 9 minutes. Impossible aussi de modifier le pourboire sans recevoir un message d’erreur. La localisation est imprécise : la pin m’a placé à plus de 100 mètres de mon emplacement réel. J’ai aussi reçu une confirmation avec le taxi assigné et sa position, pour finalement voir la voiture changer soudainement… alors que l’icône restait immobile sur la carte. Je recommande Teo depuis longtemps. J’aimerais bien continuer.
Misleading price estimates
Was charged precisely *twice* the estimated cost (estimate was $11, final price was $22). That’s a crazy price increase. Will not be using this again.

Première fois, un pourboires par défaut de 20% a été appliqué car l’app le met de base dans notre profile. Deuxième fois, soi disant un chauffeur dans 2 minutes, 8 minutes plus tard toujours personne. Troisième fois, estimation entre 18-20$ et je me retrouve à payer 27$. Quand j’ai appelé, on m’explique que c’est dû à la circulation ou construction…mon trajet était le soir sans circulation ni détours. On me dit que c’est 2.05 du km et 5$ de frais et que ma course était de 8km…soit 22$ et que ce n’est donc pas très loin de 27$ !! C’est juste 20% de plus !! Je sais donc que je ne renouvellerai pas l’expérience. 2 étoiles car l’app est simple d’utilisation.
Wait time is largely underestimated
The title says it all. I wish I can use Teo more but the truth is that the wait time is never accurate. It says 4 min and in the end it’s 25! In that sense the service is unreliable, which is sad because I prefer encouraging a local company.

Dishonest Pricing
They charged me almost double what my estimated fare was with no explanation. My ride was estimated to be $26-28 but when i got my receipt they charged $48 including an automatically added 15% tip without my consent. I tried calling their customer service line but it goes directly to voicemail. Do not use this service. Reached out to their email and it took them a week to get back to me, only to say that they charged the correct amount with no explanation as to why they doubled my fare. Shady company.
Driver was nice but app service was awful
The app told me I’d be picked up in 1 minute… for 20 minutes straight. Made me late. The guy who finally came was really nice though.

Le prix affiché quand nous avons pris la course a presque été doublé. Certes nous avons fait un arrêt mais cela ne justifie pas une si mauvaise estimation. Le taxi était très bien cependant… l’estimation n’était pas réaliste
Très bonne application
Cela fait plusieurs années que j’utilise l’appli de Téo Taxi et j’ai toujours un bon service. Simple, rapide et efficace!
Arnaque
J’ai fais la demande d’une course via l’application, le chauffeur me présente un terminal de paiement dans la voiture, je fais confiance je paie. Je me rends compte ensuite que j’ai payé sur l’appli et sur le terminal donc ma course en double. Je contacte le service client, un enfer. On répond à ma demande uniquement pour la fermer, aucun échange possible. Je ne recommande PAS. Ça ne m’étonne pas que la société qui commence par un U est beaucoup plus utilisée … je ne repasserais pas par Téo taxi, jamais.
Price double what quoted
App is easy to use but the price is deceptive and tip is confusing and not user friendly. I requested a ride that was quoted from $12 to $14 and the bill was $28. There was no special traffic or delays so price deception is built into the process. The app also seems to require setting the tip before the ride. This difficulty using the app and fake pricing will make me use Uber in the future. Very disappointed.

Je trouve important d’encourager Téo, mais la plateforme est souvent dure à aimer. Instable, recherche de chauffeur éternelle, temps d’attente inexacts, etc. Pas à l’image des conducteurs eux-mêmes qui sont très souvent top !

Deceptive, lying app
Recently the app has started telling consistently you that your driver is 1 minute away and they are just finishing another nearby trip—yet it won’t show you where the driver is, most likely because the driver *never* really is 1 minute away. Also, it looks like rides are cheaper here than Uber, until you realize that Uber gives fairly accurate fare estimates. whereas with Téo the final price is always much higher than the given estimate. I want to support a local company over Uber, and Téo doesn’t have surge pricing, which is great, but overall Téo is far too deceptive to recommend
