Do not subscribe if you have iOS
I subscribed for pro so that I could have access to all features however it does not work for iOS and they do not offer any refunds. When I emailed them asking for assistance, they literally just said oh no! we can’t give you a refund since it’s iOS.
Awesome Overall Meal Planning App
Been using this app for about 3 years now and it is key to my weekly meal planning. One thing I would love to see is serving size options above just 6 servings, ideally, 8-12!
Works great unless you want to edit your grocery list
Purchased the full version in hopes there would be no issues eating recipes and the grocery list. Unfortunately when opening the grocery list and selecting ingredients the app has categorized as “other”, I’m unable to actually change its category to the correct category. Screen changes and just goes blurry then app crashes. Great app other than that.
System crash
I love the app! The meals look very delicious, but when it’s time to move to shop online. I can only pick a few items into your cart before the system crashes. I would love it if that error was fixed, it makes it hard to shop for the items from your grocery list.

Just keeps getting worse
Barely any new recipes. Can’t update categories as the screen goes blank. Apple list would be easier than this junk, and it’s free

I can no longer change the category where things automatically go in this app and I’ve had it for years. I sent him a message and nobody answered. It’s been over a week.
Bug since update
I have used and enjoyed Mealime for for several years but since the latest update, I can no longer edit categories in my grocery list. Super annoying.
User Friendly
I love this app and it took the thinking out of meal planning! I’m able to pick my family’s diet restrictions and how many times I want to cook in the week. It does everything, can even shop online for ingredients or make 1 big list to go to store. I have told all friends and family about this app!! Absolutely obsessed!
Classic case of post-acquisition rot
June 2026 update: updates are still coming infrequently, and the latest update crashes often. If it’s another two or three months before an update that hopefully fixes it, my decade plus of using this service is probably coming to an end. —— Mealime was acquired in March 2022. That’s also the same time that they stopped updating their blog. I’ve been a paying customer of their service for over 13 years and use it daily, but it has gone downhill since they got acquired. The iOS app has stagnated, and updates (which are the only way that new recipes appear in the app) went from being almost every week to months apart. You’ll probably see an old response from the developer from a couple of years ago claiming this was “fixed”, but if anything, the new recipe drops have become more and more infrequent. I can’t name a single major new feature that the app has rolled out since 2022. It’s still does what I need it to, but I no longer tell all my friends and family about it. What used to be a solid 5/5 excellent service is now solidly in “meh” territory. I keep hunting for a replacement and will probably drop my subscription at some point.
Wonderful but would appreciate new recipes
This app is everything. I completely changed my relationship to food, cooking, meal planning in the best possible way. I’ve been a subscriber for a year now and I would continue to make this my #1 but I just wish they would go through more cook books, sites, etc. to create new recipes to use. The lack of new ideas is what has been making me consider unsubscribing and looking elsewhere for recipes but I love the layout of this app and the easy to follow instruction and really want to continue using it. Please add more vegetarian ideas because this is such a wonderful app!
Needs more updates
I’ve been using this app for many years, but in the past year or two the updates have really dropped off. While I still use the app from time to time, it’s no longer my go-to and I no longer recommend it to friends and family. Edit June 2026: app updates are still very infrequent with no new recipes since March. Extremely disappointing.
No search function for my OWN recipes??
I have used this app for years. I have never heard a single built in recipe. It’s just not what I wanted the app for. I’m very frustrated that I cannot search my own recipes by Name when building a menu???? This is such a basic thing?????? I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find this option. I’ve even asked AI while trying to figure it out. Why is this not available? It would be 5 stars if it was.
Great and Easy
I was intimidated planning meals for the week but this has made it super easy and accessible. I find new recipes I love all the time! I will say portions are v large with almost all meals so keep that in mind.

Great app, lacklustre support
While I love the app and the recipes and they’ve made a great difference for me, I have had a much worse experience getting support: I have reported a few issues in the past that were affecting my enjoyment of the app. Instead of eagerly engaging with me as a valued paying subscriber offering ways to improve the user experience, I found support to do everything NOT to pass on my feedback for potential fix. This now means every single time I use the app I’m stuck with the same issue that I feel could easily be fixed if support were willing to engage with me
Started out great
The app started out great but now there haven’t been any new recipes added since November so the utility is gone. Nice and inexpensive, but if nothing gets updated you just pick from the same recipes each time you need to make a shopping list.

Calories should NOT be something you have to pay for
A meal plan/recipe app that DOESN’T show the calories? Even worse is they are withholding the caloric information to force you into PAYING to see this info? Why can’t there be any helpful free options for a meal planning app, this is so frustrating.
I love this app but
Everything about this app is amazing, what I would love however is if it could suggest recipes that used up the extra ingredients leftover from previous meals, like half a bag of arugula etc.
No new recipes
It is now March and the last created recipe group was in November. Maybe it’s time to cancel my pro plan and move on. This isn’t a new issue either and happened in 2025 as well.
Annoying to pay for no new content
Recipes haven’t been updated in four months, but they’ve gone ahead and taken my money each month. Used to be great, now strongly considering cancelling, as either they’ve run out of ideas or run out of people/programmers.
Great App!!
This app is amazing for being completely free! The only reason I took off a star is because there are no drink or sweet recipes . I think that is a bit misleading for saying this is a food and drink app when it isn’t. Otherwise this app has amazing savory recipes.
Cumbersome for a paid app
What’s up with the forced meal plans that are one at a time and then have to be archived no matter what, then are impossible to find because there isn’t an obvious archive menu. I can’t fathom why you wouldn’t let people work more than one meal plan or be able to delete mistakes. Canceling.

Good app but not worth paid version
I have had the Pro version for years but it’s no longer worth it. They never update the app with new recipes. Last update was November 2025.
US centred
A very heavy US leaning, don’t see any way to use UK grocery online shopping! The names of the produce are also US, for example cilantro et cetera. Great app, just wish it was more UK available

Used to love - now can’t use
I was really enjoying this app but since I got a new phone and was logged out of my account, I can’t log into my precious account or create a new one so I can’t even use the app. Keep getting an error message when I try to create a new account, and when I ask to be emailed to recover my previous account I haven’t received any emails with further instructions.
I like it
It’s a good app and it is working well. My Feature request would be that we can have more then 1 account (like from a household) to select meals and have access to the grocery store list and see each other’s favorites
Good But..
The app itself is really good, but I’ve only had it for four days and now it will not create my meal plan. I have tried all troubleshooting steps, deleting re-adding turning my phone off and on updating my phone and nothing the app just won’t work so now I have to delete my subscription and find something else.
Good app, but did not fit my use case
Overall, this app does not fit my use case (yet). The UI and meal options are great, but do not scale well if you want to plan for the whole week. I would love to see a more broken down view of each day of the week, while also keeping the grocery list short and offering single-serving meals that are still nutritional. This app has great meal options, but I miss easily planning all meals for the week beforehand (breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner). That is not easy to do on this app. There is no ‘Generate Week’ option (like on ‘Eat This Much’). It also does not take your macros and goals into consideration - I hoped the Pro version would do that, but it only displays existing recipes’ nutrition information. This is not helpful if you want something to ease the burden of weekly meal planning while targeting personal macros based on how active you are. I would not mind paying more for such a more refined experience, as this app is really cheap overall. However, this is targeted towards folks who enjoy services like ‘Hello Fresh’, and not someone who wants to keep hitting their macros during a normal workweek.
Amazing
This app helps me so much as a mom who struggles with ADHD. My only critique is that I have a larger family and would LOVE an 8 and 10 servings option ❤️

V good app - could do with a few extra features to make it great!
Really enjoying the app so far! There are a few things however that would really improve navigation around the app. It would be great if you could drag and drop to reorder meals in your meal plan and the “Your Meals” section. It would also be useful to be able to reorder your Collections - at the very least, alphabetical order would be much easier to navigate through than the order you created the Collections in. Also, it would be better to have a separate tab to search through existing meals, rather than having to go into a meal plan you’ve already created and click Edit plan > add meal. It’s all a bit long winded, and probably not very straightforward for less tech savvy users! Other than that, the features are great, it’s just the navigation and search functionalities that could do with some tweaking.

It just have some recipes inside and all of them are boring, I was expecting that I select what I like and it creates me a weekly food suggestion. What’s different than a basic recipe website except boring instagram food

Mealime has fed me for almost 10 years!
I discovered Mealime in 2017 amid the subscription cooking box craze. It gave me all the benefits of Blue Apron without the cost. I’ve been an evangelist ever since - I recommend it to everyone because everyone can use it! I was a proficient cook before using the app but Mealime has taught me so much. The app used to feed just me but has now grown to feeding my family of 3! It’s a great product and I wish everyone would use it.
Money back please
I clicked on this app out of curiosity. It was not at all clear that it cost anything. I canclled the downloaded before complete so hopefully the payment hasnt gone through but how do i ensure this and get money back?? Its not even clear anywhere still how much it was!
More family friendly recipes would be great
Recipes are all tasty and there is a great variety, but they don’t cater as well to families. Lots are low carb, or contain whole nuts. A collaboration with a family friendly chef, like what mummy makes, for example, would be amazing! Especially as they’d include snack ideas and batch cook recipes. The idea of the app is brilliant and it is making shopping easier. However, I am now having to sit down and write in recipies for midweek dinners that are quick and balanced.
No nutritional info , can’t include own recipes to plan or assign meals to days
This app seems great for inspiration if you want to find new recipes and it makes a shopping list for you based on your meal selection from the recipes in the app. It does require payment to access most of these, which means the free version of this app is of very limited use. There’s no nutritional info and no ability to assign meals to days or to include the meal you already know and like. It does ask for dietary requirements including vegan and you can exclude certain disliked ingredients.
Looks great but seems US based???
Hi. Really wanted to use the app but the connected supermarkets seem to be largely American, or American branches of familiar UK brands. Hope I’m wrong about this!
LIFE CHANGING
This is hands down the coolest app ever!!! It is SOOO WORTH IT!!
No option to exclude sugars or coconut
Every single recipe I looked at had either some form or sugar or used coconut products, neither of which I can eat and there was no ability to remove these. I’m following the Human Being Diet which is similar to the Autoimmune Protocol and Whole30 and many other whole foods diets. I need to remove all sugars — maple syrup, honey, sugar, dried fruits, etc. I couldn’t select “sugar” or “honey” or similar. I also need to exclude coconut products and couldn’t do that either. Between those two things, I think every single recipe I looked at was out. I noticed several users requesting the pantry feature, which I also need. So for now, this app doesn’t work for me which is a real shame. I hope you can make these changes because I’d love to be able to use this.
Weekly planner
This app would be perfect if you could select the recipes you wanted and create a weekly meal planner.
Unless you pay for the Pro version don’t bother
With the unpaid version you still have access to good amount of recipes however you are unable to see the nutritional info for the free recipes unless you pay for the Pro version which is a shame.
