Dinner is so easy now!
We love this app. It makes meal planning a breeze. The recipes are simple and easy. So original and some I would have never even thought of making had I not seen it on the app.
Scammy
If I could give no stars I would. Besides not being transparent about pricing, they don’t really offer any value. Also after not being transparent about pricing they will charge you and refuse to give refunds on paid subscriptions even though I’ve canceled and I’m no longer using their “service.” Extremely disappointed. They definitely need to be more transparent with pricing and actually offer more for $60/month.
Great service!
This is such a great resource for recipes that you don’t have to think about. And being able to send the list to the store is great. I do wish you could choose to add the side dish or not. I don’t always want the side and have to remember to remove those ingredients from the list. Overall this is a wonderful app!
Works but Nonstandard Subscription Terms
The app and overall meal planning process does work. It allows planning meals of your dietary choice and integrated shopping orders. The gotcha is that they do NOT offer ANY refunds on subscriptions prorated or otherwise as do the majority of vendors I have worked with. The cancellation process is a convoluted, many click process that could be one button in my opinion. Beware of this.
Recipes
I’ve enjoyed using this app for years. I hope the update fixes the problems I’ve been experiencing. Saved recipes are duplicating and if not careful end up buying double of what I need and then disappearing after I’ve shopped and before I can make the recipe
Celesta Mast
My family and I enjoy the meals that come through weekly. I really like the way it is all set up and so easy to navigate. Also love how it creates a shopping list. Yes I would recommend to friends and family
Love the idea, but the execution is awful
I did a free trial a while ago, but didn’t actually use the app or test any recipes. This week I decided to try using the app again and actually meal plan and prepare the meals, and I noticed several things. 1. I wish the app had an option to continue on a monthly basis instead of choosing 3 months or a year. I unfortunately am cancelling my membership primarily for this reason. 2. The AI doesn’t do a very good job creating lists from the recipes. It was really annoying to have to do the work of ensuring that the grocery items and their respective amounts actually line of with the recipes. From what I understand, that was supposed to be the whole point. But I wound up having to go through the list and manually make several changes. I really feel that I shouldn’t have to edit the grocery list so drastically. Also the fact that it includes recommended wine pairings in the grocery list is an obvious and obnoxious upsell. 3. The recipes don’t offer metric measurements, even though the ingredient list largely goes off of oz. Some of us still prefer to use and kitchen scale in the US, especially when making lists so we know we have the proper ingredient amounts. 4z for some reason when I chose my plan, it charged me twice: once for a yearly plan and once for a 3-month plan. I am still trying to figure out how to get refunded. 5. Some recipes available for 2 people are not available in the family size. It’s fine, but I have to do the math of doubling the recipes myself. Many recipes online allow you to customize based off of how many servings you want. 6. There isn’t a search function on the main page, which makes it hard to look for recipes you haven’t already saved. 7. I did the math on meal just for our lunch and dinner, and if I were to do a full week of recipes it would make our grocery bill astronomical. I ended up doing three recipes each and we’re doubling those in order to not have to buy a gazillion different ingredients each week. This makes it a bit more practical and affordable. I really wish they’d put an approximate cost per meal at the top of each recipe. Overall I loved the idea of this app. It sounded game changing. But it is fundamentally flawed. I’m better off getting a few recipes online and getting my groceries delivered off Walmart. A little extra work, but I’m finding myself working extra with the app regardless.
Great!
I really love using e-meals for dinner ideas and sending my shopping list to Walmart! I would like the recipes to have swap options for side dishes, like potatoes or salads etc.
Stuck in May
I have used this app for almost a year now and I absolutely loved it…until now. My app has been stuck in may for over two months. I believe it’s stuck on May 6th and it is now July 17th. Very disappointing.
HEB Integration broken
I love the convenience of emeals, it saves me from eating out so much! My only complaints are 1) they used to show calorie/nutrition info for all recipes and now it seems like only some of them have it. 2) my biggest complaint is that the HEB integration in the app isn’t working. I can use Instacart, but I prefer to order for pickup and I currently can’t do that
The best meal planner
Been using eMeals for 6 years now! As a family of 7, it takes the stress out of meal planning and shopping! I love it!
Good not great.
The recipes are good. The variety is good. Makes dinner easy. I don’t care for the strong Walmart delivery suggestions. I don’t care for the wine pairing added to my shopping list each recipe. Needs to be an option to change side dish or drop it all together.
Game changer
this app has been a game changer for me and my family. We are eating healthier, spending less time in the store and more time enjoying life. I usually meal plan for the whole week and pick everything up at Walmart. The app synced up to my Walmart app and makes it so easy! I went from part-time to full-time work and so it’s great to find a 30 minute meals, healthy meals whole 30 meals all set and ready to go. I gave a meal plan on my lunch hour and pick everything up on my way home. I have input personal recipes or used recipe ideas … but either way meal planning is done in just a few clicks.
Red flag regarding subscription
I started using the application with high hopes that I could get a grip on my meal planning routine. It didn't materialize. When you add meals to your plans, the app is not smart enough to accumulate the same products in your shopping list which appear with different names in different recipes. Also, you can't have a general plan for pre-preparing your weekly meals. If you live in Canada, you can't transfer your shopping list to any online services. It requires a US zip code. The biggest disappointment came to me when I realized to cancel my trial I need to call this number on their website. There is no way you can manage your subscription unless you call them. I called and I could cancel, but these methods for causing people into paying the services are a really big red flag to me that the service is not left and they don't respect their customers.
No longer works with Walmart so pretty much useless for us
We enjoyed this when we signed up for a couple years ago, but last six months or so does not work with Walmart anymore and have tried reconnecting restarting reopening. Every possible thing does not fix it.
Bugs need to be fixed but otherwise well worth the money
This has saved our family’s dinner/grocery situation. I recommend it to everyone.
Glitchy
I love the concept, but half the time there’s an error sending my list to Walmart, and I have to start over. Forget it.
Helpful
I like the eMeals to help with forming weekly meal plans. Love the feature to make my shopping list. While being able to add into an insta cart seems helpful, it does mean more money to consider when doing your weekly budget. And, sometimes the button can get hit by accident if not careful that can get annoying and not helpful. Another feature that would be great is when forming the shopping lists to consolidate similar items into one. For example, this week, most of my items called for one onion. The one onion was separated into five different parts of the list instead of being 5 onions. This happens with multiple items. Ways to make it better and more efficient:). But, otherwise, great recipes and my family enjoys them.
Keep charging my credit card.
Only way you seem to be able to cancel your subscription is by personally calling this company or cancelling your credit card all together. There should be a cancel subscription option on your Apple subscriptions page. Also just got charged 54 dollars twice in only 3 months. Be careful !!!
Limited and Tasteless
Their options are limited and most of the recipes we’ve tried lack taste/ seasoning as is. If you have picky eaters pass on this one. Kids friendly was not tested with kids lol the connection to the Walmart app is nice but I won’t renew my subscription.
Time saving! Great value!
I’ve been using eMeals for the over a decade. It saves me time, stress, and money!
App isn’t working
Every time I try to select anything it says it isn’t working
Great meal planning app!
This app makes planning meals so easy. I love that the ingredients are automatically sent to my local Walmart and I can get everything delivered for each meal straight from the app. The recipes I’ve tried have also been very tasty. My only suggestion for improving the app is to add the amount needed for each ingredient to the step by step cooking mode directions so you don’t need to refer back to the main ingredient page to see how much is needed for each ingredient. Other than that, this app is great!
Great but need some adjustments for Australia
I love the idea of this app. Meal planning and shopping lists which can be attached to online grocery shopping. However, the app needs to be adjusted for the Australian market: weights and measures in metric, connection to Woolworths, Coles, etc. and finally meals that are seasonally appropriate. Right now it is summer in Australia but it the meals (while they look yummy) are winter focused. One last thing is that I would like to be able to export my shopping list so that I can get my husband to pick up some things without typing the list out again. I will check back in the future as I would really love an app like this but at the moment it doesn’t work fully in Australia.
Canada exists
So please make it so that it works with Canadian vendors and that it supports the measurement units used in 90% of the globe that isn’t the u s of a: ie Metric!!!!
I have been using it for years
I started using emails around the pandemic and I have come back a total of three times already love using the service
Disappointing
Does not support Canadian Walmart app.
Makes meal planning and grocery shopping easy
Linking up with my Walmart and the ability to see multiple meal recipes and cook guide makes weekly meal plans a thing of the past.
Need Postal Codes added for Canada
I’ve been researching meal prep apps, which provide grocery list, and I really liked this one. This one had the option for grocery store pick up. I signed up for the 14 day trial last night, selected the meals I wanted, went through the grocery list to remove things I already had, and went to select a grocery store. Instructions: enter ZIP Code. I was so disappointed. We have Walmart and Safeway in Canada. Please add postal code or a map option so we can zoom in and select the grocery store in our area.
Member for over 10 years - love it!
I’ve been using eMeals for over a decade and love being able to put together a weekly meal plan with very little brain power. It saves me so much heartache!
Useless
Further to my last review, I now find I have paid for a subscription that creates a shopping lists that do not deliver in the country in which I reside.
Using for years
I love being able to meal plan with ease. The only reason I gave it 4 vs 5 is because it sometimes doesn’t reflect the weather. Summer and over 90 degrees and it suggests hot soups or winter and high of 40 and it suggests a week of salads.

Can I give higher than a 10?
I think I’ve been using emails for well over 10 years. At this point, I don’t know what I’d do without it. It’s come a long way with the app and having the whole shopping list by aisle. I love the variety and the recipes have just enough of a twist to keep them interesting. My whole family loves it.
Quick and Healthy?? BLT Hamburger is healthy?
Quick maybe, but definitely not healthy. Extremely disappointed with recipes. Will be cancelling.
A lifesaver
We love this app. We’ve tried other options over the years, but come back to eMeals every time! I do wish there was a meal prep mode that would easily tell you what and how to prep in advance!
BEWARE: Not easy to stop the trial period.
On their webpage it’s laid out how to unsubscribe. I am trying to cancel... it is not that easy. I find I am not using this program. Make sure you are on top of your trial because you have to give a card number. Because you’ll be paying for it!! I will have to change credit cards!
Emeals has changed our life!
Amazing meals, so many options. We weren’t great cooks before, but now we cook a variety of food that everyone likes. We don’t even want to go out to eat anymore. As a busy working mom, I’m incredibly thankful to have found Emeals.
Zero localization
A friend from the US was raving about the service so I looked it up in the German marketplace of the Apple App Store. Wonderful to see it! Unfortunately, the disappointment set it immediately. The basics of German localization of recipes were missing – no Celsius temperatures, no metric weights (cup measurements are specific to and differ between countries, while the metric system is used worldwide). And that does not even include the German language itself. (Developers, your investment in language translation and regional localization *is* worth it in Germany.) For Americans abroad in Germany, even those away for a limited period, and for native Germans this is simply not worth the annual investment, especially in a competitive marketplace for diet and meal apps.
Great!!
Wish it would combine all the ingredients in the shipping list so that I don’t have to scroll so much and go back for ‘another lime’ it should say 2 limes and not 1 at the top of the list and 1 later on.
Disappointed
Some features do not work for Canadian users!!
Devoted Customer
This app saved my life over 10 years ago. As a young mom trying to work and be in charge of a household I found grocery shopping and meal planning daunting but this app was a god-send! My husband was so pleased with the new variety of flavors he got to try. It opened my family’s palate for sure. Then the convenience of sending my grocery list straight to the store and all I have to do is pick it up or get it delivered has been amazing! I’m a very happy customer and EMeals is part of my life. I don’t know how I would live without it!
Was alright but reoccurring charges without consent!

Yum
This is a great resource with so much potential. It's completely changed the way I cook for my family. I would love if I could add my favourite emeals to a weekly plan. And a search engine for meals would also be useful. That way next time I want to serve that beet and rice salad I don't have to search through every previous week to find it. I like the addition of the skip function but would like it better if I could choose which part if the meal to skip (main dish or side). All in all this app is awesome though. I love it.
A few guliches
I found the same as the person above. Needs to be metric, Using Australian food shops would be great. It needs more flexibility to alter meal plans once you have locked a plan in as dietary needs can change
