Great app
Great app all sorts of metrics to track. Pay once and done!
Not at all accurate anymore
This was helpful for awhile but for the past couple months it’s very inaccurate. I have to monitor my heart rate for a serious medical condition I have. This app has become so inaccurate it’s no longer safe for me to rely on After trying everything in the hopes of making it consistent again I deleted this app and found one that is reliable
Over the years
Overall good app, only have problems with older phones
Doesn’t work
Can someone on the HeartWatch team help me? My app was great and suddenly stopped working a few days ago. Now what?
Latest version is in a “show me” demo loop.
I just purchased this app and I’m already having problems with the fact that the demonstration portion on first install is stuck in a “show me” loop. With a lot of clicking around I can try and get around it, but it is a bit of a PITA. Plus for some reason my Apple Watch continues to ask for permission for my health information and despite approving that it resets back. Hard for me to review the capabilities of this app until I solve some of these small annoyances.
Great tracking with no data sharing
I like the journal and measurement features. They allow me to note any changes. The interface is easy to read and use. In a world where most apps are transmitting all kinds of personal data to multiple parties, this one shares nothing.
One Star
For an app I had to purchase with another app that I did not need, I used both for a year. Checked my data because I have health issues and have since 2019 and this app has not given me not one ounce of information. In the year I have had this app installed on my devices in hopes of CONTINUOUS tracking it has done just the opposite. Thank you. My medical team also thanks you for wasting their time.
Looks like a good product
Looks like a good app, but I need warning during exercise that my pulse exceeded a limit while exercising. This app follows the Apple notification of high heart rate for 10 min after being idle
More details but
A little more details than appl Health app but analysis. Regret buying.
Crashes
Keeps crashing periodically

App Changed—New Privacy Concerns
Why do you need all health app data for the app to function properly? Holding app functionality hostage behind data mining scheme. Summary: “Just give us access to all these unrelated health details, we promise never to look at them. And we promise with this extra data the app can calculate your heart rate that you already don’t need calculations for because you gave us the raw data.” The app refuses to function now that you’ve added full health data access requirements. Worked fine before this, you don’t need access to everything just to read my heart rate sensor. You don’t need my birthday to calculate anything when you have access to the sensor that is on my arm! Just do the thing you were designed for and read and write only my heart rate and get your greedy hands off of my PHI. Quoted requests from the app itself: “Your one time build was cancelled as HealthKit access was disallowed, probably due to locking your device. You can try again and it will resume from where you left off.” (I didn’t lock my device it showed this error immediately upon trying to look at any heart rate details in the app.) “You don't seem to have entered your birthdate in your Apple Health app profile. This is required for heart rate calculations.” (It’s not, I get my HR through the sensor.)
Information Overload
Great Application but you need to take time to understand the data.
ECG doesn’t work
Every time I try to use the ECG feature it tells me to hold my hand still as my hand is on a flat surface not moving. It use to work but the last year it will only go for maybe 5 seconds before it resets to 30 seconds
Decent But Appears Racist
So far, this App is okay. It is a lot easier to use than their clunky and overburdening AutoSleep App. I will update my review after having seen how the App works over more time. My main complaint right now is the Character Rings. I am mixed race like many people are. However, I do not look like one of my brown parents. There are NO light skinned (whiteish) looking characters to choose. WHAT!!!! Also, the hair colors are limited as well. Not many choices for silver or gray hair. Hmm...
Life changer!
Essential for my health tracking! Two apps plus iwatch have changed my life and this is one of them. When you are a senior and have heart issues this makes a huge difference in understanding your body and working to improve it as best you can. If you are young and healthy, it can help you stay that way. This app and my Auto Sleep app are the reasons i got my apple watch. They are the best health trio i know.
Scam
Does not allow you to actually take an EKG, or look up data in real time. Instead, it offers the ability to put aggregate data into colorful charts similar to the ones already available in the health app. As far as I can tell it adds nothing. Ascertaining this was nontrivial, and it decidedly conflicts with the impression given by the App Store listing. Don’t waste your money.
Apple watch complication
Not automatically refreshing
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Why don't you add Arabic
The app is slow. Can’t easily add my body weight with my phone.
The app is not very responsive. Clicking something will take a long time to react. Improve your frontend performance please. Also do i have to use my watch to add a measurement for my weight? Can I do it with my phone???
Fantastic app!! PLEASE ADD AN IPAD APP!!!
This app completely changed how I analyze my health data!! So much more detailed insights I can get from the graphs!! Please release an iPad version 🙏
Не работает
Приложение постоянно сбоит. Пропадает синхронизация с приложением здоровье. Регулярно теряются данные. Не получается это исправить.
Almost Perfdct
I’ve been using HeartWatch for many years. For HR monitoring and history it’s first class. I do have a problem with the SP02 information, as it doesn’t take altitude into consideration. For those who live in the Denver area, normal SP02 percentages could be 3% to 5% lower than someone living at sea level. In higher mountains, there’s an even greater distance. Health information should be accurate for the individual and not generalized.
Great 5 years ago
This app was great when I bought it, and I appreciate the one time charge, but it’s now way behind the competition and I find myself only being reminded of it when there’s an update.
Sleep Tracking: I cannot do any sleep tracking because I charge my watch every night.
I won’t have my watch during the day if I wear it at night!
Still Awesome!!!
Fun way to keep track of more than your heart rate. The HeartWatch provides additional information for monitoring my heart rate and other activities coming from the Apple Watch. But the graphical presentation looks better with added features like gauges that monitor everything you do. Best of all, monitoring Timogotchi is a fun way to encourage you to move and burn those calories.
Not for iWatch4
I was sad that in February when my iOS was updated and the watch was updated, I lost all of the heart rate stuff. They recommended this app, but it does not work for my system. It keeps telling me that I need to add my birthday to my health app. But it is there. I would like a refund. This doesn’t work for me.
Confusion when upgrading to new phone
I used this app for 7-1/2 years, switching phones twice during that time. No issues the first time, but during the most recent my only option was to re-purchase this app (that I had already purchased.) I emailed the company via the app on my old phone, but still haven’t heard back from them. I decided to go ahead and pay for it (again), which irritated me. Luckily, when I pressed the button to pay, I got a pop-up stating that there would be no charge because I had previously purchased the app. I wish this had been clearer from the get-go, or that a rep would have responded to my inquiry. It all worked out, but it was frustrating. The app itself is useful and easy to navigate.
Overwhelming complexity
The philosophy behind this app seems to be “everything everywhere all at once”. There is so much information and such a bewildering number of configuration options that I can’t even be begin to use. I’m sure there’s some great information in here if you’re willing to dig, but I, for one, would much more appreciate a simplified interface that surfaces a few key metrics, trends, and actionable recommendations.
Home Screen top padding
Home Screen needs top padding. The dates from the circles are getting cut off.
Great app, one minor flaw
This is a great app, I love that it’s a one time purchase and no more in-app purchases or data mining. The data it captures is valuable and works well with their other wonderful app, AutoSleep, to give a better picture of one’s health status. One minor flaw that I hope the devs can address: I receive HR alerts when my HR exceeds or goes under a certain threshold (a great feature!) but these alerts often come hours later. Getting the alerts immediately would be a lot more helpful. Otherwise, this is a wonderful, high quality app and I’m very happy with it.
Doesn’t integrate with Apple Health app
Just downloaded the app and set all notifications and allow app to read Health app. Unfortunately when I go to open the app it pops up a window indicating “You don’t seem to have entered your birthdate in your Apple Health app.” Checked my Health app and confirmed my birthdate is entered. Don’t understand why I’m getting this message but if this app can read a simple piece of data from my Health app then I seriously doubt it will accurately read important data like my heart rate, etc. . . Deleting app.
Nearly Perfect
This app is better than Apple’s native heart rate in every way. I would absolutely love it if the Apple Watch heart rate complication continuously updated every few seconds, like the Pixel Watch does. Having to tap into it to get it to refresh is a pain.
Doesn’t work right anymore
Loved using this for workouts for years but now the app on watch won’t let me stop my workout it glitches and keeps going and I have to discard my workout and can’t save it
Used to work…
Updated as of 10-8-25. Before updating phone and watch to 26 this app used to work just fine. Now it won’t work for the life of me. I have restarted both phone and watch since I updated about an hour ago. What else can I do to get this app working again?! Please help, thank you.
Useful App
Watching the data consistently on HeartWatch pointed to what turned out to be a significant medical issue. Glad I had this.
Dont do it
Hasnt been able to record anything
It’s not as good as I expected
It should provide more complication modules, at least for immediate health metrics. I was hoping for a complete health metrics suite for up front display, but its mostly a background app with only a few complication modules. I Hope it could provide more Real Time clock view health data in the future.
Stopped working
Ios 18 seems to have created a bug in this and now it doesn’t work even after deleting and reinstalling as it still stops and doesn’t load information. Been using it for for many years and just deleted app
A bit clutter UI and missing widgets
I like overall app but I think if you could just add widgets support that would be great!
Goes beyond Apple Health in a useful way
I’ve tried a number of health tracking apps, and this is one I keep coming back to. It works well alongside the iOS Health app, but goes a step further in how it presents and visualizes the data. Where Apple Health tends to limit you to fixed views (day, week, month, 6 months, year), this app gives you more flexibility. One of the most useful features is the ability to apply trailing averages, which helps smooth out the day-to-day fluctuations that can be discouraging when you’re trying to stay consistent. That smoothing makes a bigger difference than you might expect. In the past, I’ve tended to lose momentum somewhere around the 2–3 month mark, and part of that comes from reacting too much to short-term swings. This app helps keep the focus on the overall trend rather than the noise. If you’re already using Apple Health but want a clearer, more motivating way to look at your data over time, this is a really useful companion app.
I want it to beep during workout when heart goes below 135

APP Failed to Work on Apple Watch after Upgrade
I’ve been using this app on my Apple Watch 5 for numerous years however after the newest Apple Update, the watch part of the app will not work - starts then stops. The app needs an upgrade of its own I believe. (Sep 2024)
The speak function stops working in watchos 10
The speak function in watchos never really worked properly. When I press yellow speak button, it used to give me keyboard on watch. But it can take input and add measures anyway. After watchos10, it doesn’t take input as measure any more.
Helpful through the years
Goes beyond iOS capabilities. Worth the money. Developers keep it updated and functional, even through iOS updates. Information it outputs is insightful and accurate. My cardiologist frequently asks me to send her the data from this app. Recommend for anyone looking to get a better understanding of their cardiovascular health. Buy the bundle that has their other health apps as well, for the big picture…as the different apps sync together perfectly (and it saves money to buy them bundled).
Thieves
I purchased this app believing what they said. I share all data with them and no data result, no analysis, no notifications. I waisted my time and money
Works well
V happy with this app.
Bummed
Im super bummed, I downloaded the app last night and it had literally drained my battery to nothing in less than 16 hours and my battery usually would last 36 hours. I haven’t even made it through my day and my battery is less than 10% I need my watch…. I don’t know if anyone else has had this issue.
Could have been better
I like the UI. In terms of metrics, other than heart rate variability and workout intensity nothing is out of the ordinary. I wish you could show me the trend of workout intensity, there is aggregate but no trend to compare if I am getting better with time.
