Customer services sucks and turning off auto pay is a headache
My first ever review. This app is Terrible tried to cancel subscription or turn off auto pay. Why is it so hard to turn off autopay? Why do I need to contact customer service for it. Also when you reply to them you have certain amount of time to reply or they would end session you won’t get a notification if they reply back been asking to turn my auto pay/ subscription off for the pass 3 months.

Do not sign up for the subscription services as they continuously charge your credit card even after clearly cancelling it. They then try to offer you a “half refund” while still charging the full amount next month. BEWARE! It’s legit scammy

Good cameras, can’t manually unsubscribe or cancel membership/ too many ads
Honestly good cameras love the multi view SO MANY ADS like it wasn’t bad originally then ads filled the app it’s garbage cause it gets in your way Also another crazy thing, you can’t cancel membership with a button you HAVE to contact support and they keep trying to prevent and delay you from canceling.

Easy to control home cameras
Ad pop-ups make the cameras virtually unusable
The cameras are just OK. They’re not the highest resolution. However, the one thing that really prevents me from giving this any higher than one star is that the pop-ups from the app make it impossible to check right away when you get an alert. You have to navigate through several advertisement screens just to get to your live image. And they occur every single time you open the app. The app itself is pure garbage because of that. I have missed deliveries because of it. In addition, the app does not recognize any SD cards, I have been through several new ones to no avail. What’s the entire point of having the camera if I can’t record because the app does not recognize an SD card? I wouldn’t buy a camera if this is the app that you would be stuck with.

Event Only Recording Broken in 6.9.3
Version 6.9.3 appears to have broken Event Only SD card recording on YI Guard cameras. Three of my YI Guard cameras stopped recording motion events to their SD cards at the same time. Formatting the SD cards did not help. The same cameras and SD cards work correctly with the YI Life app, so this appears to be an issue with YI Home 6.9.3. Another YI camera model continues to record normally in YI Home. Please investigate and fix this issue. I will update my rating once it is fixed.

To see my son- I need to wait for 2-3 minutes, press multiple X to close the advertisements and afterwards to end another adds that somehow appeared again. My mom can’t use the app now- its too complicated to start closing all the pop up windows. The price for Add free app is too high and not worth it

Garbage cameras, endless ads, canceling not possible!
After you pay hard cash for the cameras, the free app version is flooding you with advertising and pathetic games that you can’t skip, they just keep coming. After going with the subscription for a few month, which lowest tier is limited to 5 cameras, I tried to cancel. That’s where China shows its real colors: they keep replying with offers to stay, although I already removed all cameras and told them that I threw them in the trash. They keep sending offers with a 5 day response time - up the button to submit the simple CANCEL NOW! request doesn’t respond, the chat doesn’t reflect the responses, so they charged again. Canceling a subscription has to be a simple process. Dispute filed. STAY AWAY FROM THE GREEDY FOLKS!

Switching accounts
I have two accounts, KAMI and YI. They keep logging into show the same account on both apps, not the separate apps I’m paying for which cause me to log out of one and it eventually happens again just being a cycle and getting increasingly annoying to the point of probably going to another system all together.

Terrible App
Two good features. High quality live view, “Away from Home” alerts. That’s the end of it. It can take up to 30 seconds to launch because of the ridiculous amount of ads they have. Oh! But not just at launch, want to switch view? Ads. Want to go back to menu? Ads. I got confident because I use and love a Yi Dashcam (different app) and the experience has been quite good. This app is so bad, that I am no longer willing to try any other Yi products.

This is the worst camera app I have ever used. I have used the YI camera and app for years and Im ready to dish it all for new products. The last couple months the camera alerts do not play back how annoying.
Not very good
The features advertised on this app do not work, even with the paid subscription. Ai detection doesn't work at all. Motion detection is not very reliable no matter what the settings are.. The camera works as a basic cam recorder providing you use an SD memory card and don't mind scrolling through the footage to view an event..

When I first got this I thought it was great. Turns out when you have it a while you really need to subscribe to online storage. If you don’t you have wait for an absolute age to see in the camera. Of course they wait till you have purchased 3 more cameras.

Beware! Do not buy these cameras!
The app is completely unusable because of the constant full page pop up ads every few seconds. You are constantly swatting down ads the entire time you use the app. I used to love these cameras and now they are just horrible and going in the trash.
Doesn’t record to cloud even with subscription
This doesn’t work even with a subscription it does not record to the cloud. I tried to get customer service but there is none. They keep asking me to upgrade the an AI subscription at a higher rate. But if this does t work on a normal subscription why would the AI subscription be better? This is a rip off and I need a refund on my subscription. I can’t rewind. Sometimes it doesn’t pick up people.

Don’t update it unless you want to get rid of your cameras
Regretting doing the update, worst thing I’ve ever done. I really liked the cameras and very user friendly especially with the SD card but not the case anymore. If I wanted to be bombarded with adds I would go to Temu and spin the wheel all day for nothing! Wish I had read the reviews before updating. Just ordered new cameras and these will be going in the garbage.
The app and service has become unreliable and unusable
I’ve been a consistent subscriber to this service, and the times I’ve needed footage, the cameras, and systems have provided minimal to no help. Theft, cars stolen right in the line of sight, and it’s a pain to extract footage to give to authorities. Now the app has become one giant advertisement even for paid users with useless features that make it even harder to use the services paid for prior. I’ll be deleting the camera profiles, scrapping the cards, and deleting my profile. Their push for innovation and AI with watered-down focus areas has degraded the products usefulness beyond repair. Find something else if you require security for your home or spaces.
Annoying Adverts
I am fed up with the adverts that keep coming up on this app. They come up whilst I’m half way through watching a short video, every 2 to 5 seconds and it is so annoying, yet this is only a paired camera with my partner and he doesn’t get any adverts. Why is this happening?
