Faster than the blink of an eye
Had to go through an identification for the ING bank in Germany. My call (on a working day) was answered in a matter of seconds and the very friendly and professional (English-speaking) agent completed the process in a few minutes. For me it’s important to conduct my businesses in the INTERNATIONAL language of English even if I live temporarily in Germany and Germans frowned upon if you don’t speak their language… Thus the complete 5 *.
Horrible app
Multiple glitches when using English translation. Input button is not visible unless font size is reduced, which is not intuitive and obstructs elderly from providing proof of life and receiving pensions. Is this intentional?

Doesn’t accept senior ID’s
This is the second year I tried to use the app. The instructions could be a bit more clear. For example they want to see the hologram on the card and strange lines come up on the screen. I actually did not know what it meant. Move card up ? Down ? Plus the app is in German and didn’t allow me to easily pick a different language (English ). After I used the app it said it did NOT accept my mother’s California issued ID card which she got from The DMV and it has a hologram. I tried two times and it told me the ID was not approved. I do not know why a state approved card is not acceptable. I just looked up my review from last year and the same problem exists. Her ID card issued by California has a hologram. Your system says accepts state issued ID cards so why are you not accepting ID cards issued by California Department of Motor Vehicles? We use these to fly! FIX your app. There are 40 million people who live in California.
Worked flawlessly last year ….
The app worked flawlessly last year but NOT this year - it abended/crashed during photo taking of passport…. Could not finish using it and have revert to paper-method to get everything notarized and the snail mail to Germany
Easy to use
We used this service 4 years ago to activate Lidl Connect cards. Now, we have to do it again and it is even easier to use! So great that there is help available in English. Thank you for that!
Terrible software
I don’t see how this app could get over 4 stars. After trying four times to verify my elderly mother’s identity for her pension, we gave up. All the app would say is that it had technical difficulties. There is no way an elderly person could possibly use this app. It’s a huge waste of time.

Doesn’t recognize US passport hologram easily
I tried using this app yesterday with my 88 year old mother and received an email back a few hours later indicating it could not recognize the hologram. Last year I used it and it worked great, this year seems not as good or more sensitive. I understand the need for high security, but I would suggest the following: 1) Immediate feedback if hologram quality isn’t good enough. That way we can immediately retake the picture/video. If this part doesn’t require a human to check it should be possible. 2) If the proof-of-life (ie selfie with head movement) is ok, allow for only the document/hologram part to be resubmitted rather than go through the whole procedure again. These 2 points are because a lot of elderly persons need assistance when using the app so immediate feedback or just redoing a part of the procedure would help make it easier. We will be completing now via snail mail.
Inability to use app
Good morning I have been trying to use the scan method, which would be very convenient, but it is not letting me. I try and scan the code but have a notice that says information is missing. I try to enter manually but I have no 12 digit assigned to my mom’s code. There is an 8 digit number at the top of her document And another set of numbers at the top left corner, but it is a 17 digit set of numbers and letters

Too sensitive to accept US passport hologram
Awful! Having tried several times to use my smartphone camera to video my US passport hologram, I gave up and used snail mail. Update The development team is working on the problem. Let’s hope they are successful or use a different method of verification. 🤞
Seems to still have some glitches
In principal: A great idea. If I am correct, this is a new process. So some glitches to be expected, I guess. The ID number never populated after the scan. But with the help of the step by step description I could figure it out and cut and paste it from the e-mail. That allowed me to continue. The ID process never showed the results of the photos and the video taken. My face never showed in the frame as the description tells you. So I had no chance to review what I was sending. Now I have to wait 24 hours to find out.
Well developed system
Very easy and logical to use - was able to send ID information without problem. It is important for the user to receive a confirmation that the ID process was successful. Have not received any confirmation.
QR doesn’t work
App is not picking up the QR scan whatsoever. Makes you get stuck at that step and you can’t proceed.

Ich versuchte meinen Lebensnachweis auszufüllen, aber nachdem ich meine Transaktionsnummer eingab, bekam ich eine Nachricht, dass sie nicht korrekt ist. I habe es dann nochmal versucht vom Anfang an, dann kam die Nachricht, dass meine Nummer nicht mehr gültig ist. Was kann ich dann tun?

It is certainly much more convenient than finding a notary for signature and existence verification. Just takes a bit to get used to the technology and process involved. Great system for all stakeholders. Congrats and Thanks 👍
The connection constantly drops
I’m on a strong WiFi or 5G with good reception and today the connection during the video chat keeps dropping constantly. I keep trying it again and again without success. It’s super frustrating. Please fix your connection issues.

Every click is invalid; God, this developer is messing with us. But it works on earlier versions, prompting you to update to this garbage version.
Good but use your iPhone (not iPad)
Final screen is not clear … what is the next step? Should be something like “checking your data … we will send an email with results … you can exit the app” Video does not work on iPad … but does on iPhone

Working on iPad. Tried scanning QR code supplied byPost Office. Redirected to use browser. System did not recognize Safari browser and suggested Android browsers?

It’s the Live on iPhones sending blurry Photos
Let’s use our heads here and think before we take any photos of identification documents with a souped up iPhone 11 to 13. It’s the too powerful “Live” feature that is making the administrators in Germany reject your application. A still photo is not being seen by the administrators, but rather a very shifty and consequently unclear photo. Result? The numbers are blurry on the necessary identification documents and your application is rejected by Germany. How did I find out about this? A photo was sent to my friend in British Columbia of my positive rapid test result for COVID-19. It was taken with my iPhone 11 with the “Live” feature. Upon further examination, it became readily apparent that the red “Test” line was unclear/blurry, all because of the Live feature. My 6 year old iPad does not support “Live” and the photo, taken by it, was clear. Also, why is a Canadian Permanent Resident Card (PRC) not recognized by the Postident app?

Sloppy and vague
Tried to use this for a proof-of-life German pension form. The app couldn’t read the QR code. The iPhone camera app, in contrast, read the QR code and sent me to the web version of photoident. Technically, that worked, but the instructions on what to photograph in a passport are just front/inside and back/outside. You couldn’t ask for worse instructions. The attempt was rejected because the ‘back/outside’ photo was rejected, with no further instructions on what they actually want photographed. Only good news was that once the website interface gave me a twelve-digit code, I could make further attempts through the app, and I am hoping that some future attempt is accepted, no thanks to the app, nor its documentation.

Acceptable ID not Accepted
Terrible app I tried 5 times for my mom and did everything I was told to do . Email kept saying ID not accepted. Worst app . One star is too generous. Waste of my time .
Would be fine if the queue was less than an hour
The app seems fine. A queue of 45 person is indicated as 1 minute wait. In fact it’s about 1 hour. Don’t bother with this. Quicker to visit your local post office!
